I enjoyed this story. I was pulled in right from the start and it held my attention to the end. The characters are well developed and I enjoyed watching their story grow throughout the book. They are connectable and made the story seem real and come alive. Aiko was exiled forty years ago but now she is back and is given a second chance as Cupid. She has a new assignment plus she has the world’s survival on her shoulders. What couple possibly happen? I highly recommend this book.

Aiko- Brooke May

Aiko by Brooke May is a truly one of a kind read! I’ve read a few books by this author but honestly this one is my favourite by far! This is the first book in the Heartstrings series, and it follows Aiko, a cupid who has an impossible love assignment after a long period away from work.

Aiko’s story is funny, witty, detailed, intriguing and truly captivating. It’s a shorter read that I was able to read in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to put it down. There was so much detail and the story flowed seamlessly!

I can’t wait to continue this series ASAP, this one of a kind read is one I would recommend to anyone!

Aiko (The Heartstrings Series Book 1)

5 out of 5 stars

The story Aiko (The Heartstrings Series Book 1) by Brooke May is a romantic comedy. It drew me in from the very beginning and I found myself lost in the book. There are moments that I was smiling as well as laughing out loud. There are other moments that were touching. I loved reading about the characters of Aiko and Alejandro Gomez. Aiko could be given the title of worst cupid ever. Her past is littered with disaster. What will happen when she is given Alejandro as her new assignment? Alejandro is a man who is kind, caring, and has a generous heart. His love life is a different matter altogether. Read this book to find out what happens. Aiko and Alejandro are characters that are likable, and I grew to care about. The author has created a story that is entertaining, wonderful to read, and has unforgettable characters. I would highly recommend reading it.

Being struck my Cupid’s arrow is supposed to be painless. The slightest prick is meant to bring you the love of your life.

Cupid doesn’t work alone.

Six beings were created to help him guide mortals to love.

Aiko is not a gentle piercing of your soul.

Aiko is the worse Cupid for a reason.

Extermination of civilizations, plagues, and possibly the worst tragedy in human history may rest on her tiny shoulders.

She’s back after a forty-year exile. Aiko has been given another opportunity to help humanity.

Alejandro Gomez is everything a woman could dream of … in looks. His romantic abilities gyrate to the beat of mariachi.

He’s Aiko’s new assignment.

Pray the world doesn’t come to an end.

Romance author Brooke May spends her days writing whatever her overactive imagination has brewed up and her evenings reading while she works alongside her mom. Telling stories is second natural to her, from a young age she has told anyone who would listen what she had thought up. Now, a mom of two, she splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and of course, hiking, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in her beloved Bighorn Mountains.

While on maternity leave with her youngest, Brooke was putting laundry away when she looked at a poem she had written in high school that was framed in her son’s bedroom. That poem triggered the idea of My Cowboy and soon she was sitting in front of her computer with her infant next to her writing her first love story that wasn’t a fanfiction.
