Immersed in the world of classical ballet during her school years at a specialised girls’ boarding school, Eleanor Dixon leapt into a professional dance career, across the European stage. Terri Sabol is an accomplished children’s book author, renowned for her heartwarming and entertaining stories featuring the real-life adventures of her two beloved rescue kittens, Oscar and Emmy. Terri Sabol is an accomplished children’s book author, renowned for her heartwarming and entertaining stories featuring the real-life adventures of her two beloved rescue kittens, Oscar and Emmy. Born and raised in Texas, Terri developed a love of writing and storytelling at a young age and always dreamed of one day becoming an author. Thinking that was out of reach, she focused on her other dream… teaching.

After graduating from college with a Master’s degree in education, Terri worked as an early childhood teacher, and it was during this time that her passion for picture books truly blossomed. Terri’s debut book, “Oscar and Emmy Get Rescued”, was published in 2016, and told the heartwarming story of how she came to adopt her two kittens from the animal shelter where she volunteered. The book was an instant hit with children and parents alike, and it quickly became clear that there was a demand for more stories featuring Oscar and Emmy and to help educate children on the importance being involved in pet care. This evolved into a series of 8 books, now available as a box set. This series not only entertains children but also promotes the values of compassion and kindness towards animals, as well as the importance of rescue and adoption.

Terri has also written several other books showing off her writing skills, including “Green With Envy”, “Kneading a Winning Idea”, and “Raccoon Reunion”, all dealing with topics like perseverance, jealousy, appreciating what you have, and anxiety.

Terri’s latest project, The Know It Owl Series, allows her the excuse to visit zoos and aquariums all over the world for research and photos for the next book. The wise and witty Owl is in each book interacting with a new featured animal to impart his wisdom. 

When she’s not writing, Terri can be found spending time with her two rescue kitties, Oscar and Emmy. She also loves travelling and exploring new places and visiting old favorites, all the while taking inspiration for her next book. Through her stories, Terri hopes to inspire children to explore the world around them, to embrace their imaginations, to never give up on their goals, and to always be kind and compassionate towards others, especially animals.

Allan Mansoor was born in Redwood City, California, and grew up in Culver City and Costa Mesa, California. Both of his parents immigrated to the United States for a better life, his father from Egypt and his mother from the Aland Islands.

He was an Orange County deputy sheriff for sixteen years. He ran for office and was elected to the Costa Mesa City Council in 2002, serving three non-consecutive four-year terms and three terms as mayor. He served on the Orange County Transportation Authority and later served two terms in the California State Legislature.

He is married to his wife, Jannifer, and they have four children (Avalon Jane, Joshua Dayton, August Alexander, and Dallas Zachariah). Each has a detailed story behind their two first names. Janniffer and Allan enjoy homeschooling and spending time with their kids.

E. Padgett is a poet and children’s author in the Pacific Northwest.  She was a student affairs professional at Everett Community College before pursuing her passion for writing and storytelling. She graduated with a B. A. in English: Professional and Creative Writing at Central Washington University. She was editor-in-chief at Manastash Literary Journal and event coordinator for Poetry Northwest. Growing up in a loud and chaotic family of eight inspired her to create stories about sibling connections and challenges. Although she enjoys many things in life, she considers being an auntie one of her biggest joys. She is best known for her series The Reeds of West Hills. Her hobbies include crocheting stuffed animals, dress up tea parties, graphic design, illustration, whistling and reading.

What could it be? The branch over her head has no flowers. Seeds come from flowers. Where could this seed have come from?

As she watches, a branch starts walking. It must be an insect. But, insects don’t make seeds. Insects drop eggs. The ants take the eggs to their nest, just like the seeds. They even nibble on them, just like seeds.
