Charlie Madison was living the dream. Her career was taking off. She just accepted a prestigious new job as a trauma surgeon in LA. Endless sunny days and the opportunity to work with some of the best trauma surgeons in the world.
Of course, there were a few little worries occasionally keeping her up at night… at least the nights she wasn’t called into the hospital. She still owed a mountain of student debt from her long years of schooling. But her less than stellar financial balance sheet wasn’t the most pressing of her concerns at the moment.
The Dirty Little Family Secret was rearing its inconvenient head more often lately. As much as she tried to ignore them, the ‘gifts’ she evaded, or outright denied, her entire life were not going away. Why she never considered pursuing a career path bringing her face to face with the dead and dying on a daily basis was not conducive to keeping the lid on the family secret was beyond her. She was supposed to be psychic, after all.
On the other hand, her social life was looking up. She was making new friends in LA, on both sides of eternity. The moms and aunts couldn’t wait to hear about her new extracurricular activities in their arena. Fortunately, some of her new friends were alive and still in the flesh.
Her dad’s introduction to Maxwell Cole and the other Charlie, led her to Jack, aka, dream man. Unfortunately, Jack was not the type of man who would take a little thing like talking to the dearly departed in stride.
Yes, Charlie’s new life on the west coast was starting off with a bang. She just needed to figure out how she was going to balance it all and keep her secret… well, secret.
Catch up with Max and Charlie in this fun and engaging story about a young woman’s struggles with the family inheritance, as the moms and aunts laughingly call it, in the midst of trying to carve out a professional and personal life for herself in LA.
If you like your mysteries steeped in the supernatural with a bit of romance, Dirty Little Family Secret will have you falling into its pages and reading long past bedtime.
If you’re playing hide and seek, Lynn Wood’s default hiding place is always between the pages of a book. Whether it’s a recent bestseller or the latest release from one of her favorite authors, or creating new stories of her own, Lynn’s world must include books to fall into, to be dragged under, to immerse herself in fantasies, romances, thrillers, ideas, or new ways of looking at and experiencing life. Her writing reflects her wide-ranging interests, but you’ll find most of her books in the romance, historical romance and thriller genres, usually with a magical or supernatural thread woven through the tapestry of the stories. She also writes under pen name, Bethany Summers, and recently published the first book in a young adult fantasy series, The End of Eternity Series, Mortals and Angels. When she’s not reading or writing, Lynn spends her time with family and friends, traveling around the country and the world, and whenever she can, at the beach, under an umbrella…reading a book, of course.

It’s been twenty-five years since she saved the world. Now, it’s time to do it again.
Meg Walker was done being the chosen one. After sealing the Hellgate her senior year, she flipped destiny the bird and walked away.
Or so she thought.
On her 42nd birthday, Meg gets a psychic distress call from her best friend who has been in a coma for decades. Someone is trying to open the Hellgate again.
Going home isn’t just about stopping another apocalypse. It means facing the people she left behind, the friends who became strangers, the grudges that never faded, and the exes who still make her pulse skip.
But time is up. The gate is opening. And Meg isn’t the reckless teen who ran away. She’s sharper, stronger, and ready to remind the universe that saving the world isn’t just for the young.
Reunion is book one in The Hellgate Chronicles, an urban fantasy series for readers who know life doesn’t end at forty. It just gets more badass. Buckle up. It’s going to be a hell of a ride.
Jocelyn Lindsay writes urban fantasy where women over 40 take the lead—saving the world, making questionable decisions, and proving that midlife is just the beginning. Her stories feature sharp-witted, resilient heroines navigating supernatural chaos, complicated relationships, and the kind of life challenges that don’t magically disappear with age. Because here’s the truth: life doesn’t get less interesting at 40—it gets bolder, messier, and a hell of a lot more fun. In her books, midlife isn’t about fading away—it’s about stepping up, owning your power, and embracing the badass years ahead.

Lowlands unfolds in a world teetering on the edge, reeling from a series of apocalyptic underground explosions. For Grace and Tom, confined within their apartment block, survival means adapting to a new reality where the terror of the unknown inches closer each day. As foreboding visions tangle with the secrets they’ve long buried, Grace is forced to confront her own past—and the dark forces that manipulate humanity from the shadows.
Rich with atmospheric dread, Lowlands is a haunting exploration of the razor-thin boundary between faith and reason, reality and nightmare, and the seductive lure of hope when all else is lost.
“Before venturing into the cutting-edge world of virtual reality storytelling, Adam Cosco honed his craft in screenwriting. Adam has expanded his storytelling by writing novels. He self-published the novel Little Brother, Say Goodbye to Jonny Hollywood, and Lowlands.”

Freaky Finales is a series of fictional shorts. They are in no way a representation of real beliefs or existing religions.
Scare Queen: A woman’s plight for youth
The search for everlasting youth has been written about for centuries. In this one, the answer doesn’t come in the form of the fountain of youth though. The fictional supreme being in this story is unique and represents both the good and evil sides of humanity, offering up temptations and tests, as well as just rewards on either side of the spectrum.
Essentially Broken: A nurse’s curse
This short is a damned if you do, damned if you don’t, fictional story about a nurse gifted with healing hands and how she uses her ability. This one really hits home in the feels department.
No Pest Pesticide: Chemical damage to nature
If you’ve read my work, especially the apocalyptic stories, you know I like to tie them to environmental issues, not necessarily real ones. This short is a look at a fake pesticide destroying the planet.
Mother Knows Best: A Halloween outing gone wrong.
The tension between a mother and her teenage daughter hits extremes in this rebellious tale with a twisted outcome.
Respect: An angel’s fall from Heaven
First I’d like to say this is a fictional world, with a fictional religion and a fictional God, who perhaps isn’t running the whole show.
Xarlapin an emotionless and genderless angel becomes attached to the mortal world and, in particular, a heterosexual woman. Because of those growing feelings, the angel chooses to become a mortal man and remain at her side as a partner.
Yup! It’s a love story.
Bonus:
When Leaves Fall: An emotional journey of cruelty.
Sob!
Sob!
Sob!
Grab the tissues.
This one is my absolute favourite of all the stories I’ve written. I’m not putting any spoilers in here, but if you want an ugly cry, this is the read for you.

GOODREADS – Reunion (The Hellgate Chronicles) by Jocelyn Lindsay
BOOKBUB – Reunion (The Hellgate Chronicles) by Jocelyn Lindsay
It’s been twenty-five years since she sealed the Hellgate.
Now, she’s gotta stop the apocalypse. Again.
Meg Walker, a grunge teen of the eighties, has always been rebellious and unconventional. So after a disastrous senior year she flipped destiny the bird and skipped town. But her 42nd birthday comes with an unpleasant surprise: a psychic call from her comatose best friend from high school. Someone is trying to open the Hellgate.
Resigned to her duty as the gatekeeper of evil, Meg reluctantly goes home—it’s time to live up to expectations. As she struggles to reconnect with her old friends, she learns the (second) apocalypse is a cakewalk compared to old romances, professional careers, teenage children, and unresolved emotional baggage.
Is it possible confronting the demons from your past is worse than actual demons?
Jocelyn grew up reading fantasy books by men, about men, for men. When she’d had enough of that, she wrote my own stories. These days she writes urban fantasy novels featuring strong, relatable heroines who navigate both supernatural and real-world challenges with resilience and wit. She wants to showcase badass women who continue to grow and kick ass well into their 40s and beyond. Probably because she’s beyond 40. She wants women to know their lives don’t have to be less spectacular over 40 and that the badass years are ahead of them.

Nothing anyone said in the daylight was going to change a thing. The fact remained: what happened at night was real enough to change things forever.
It was always the same: a warm night, a scream of desire on the wind, the pounding of the ocean waves. Yeah, about as cliché as it got. Knowing that didn’t make it any less real. When there was a mystery afoot, she was there searching for answers.
They weren’t fooling anyone. It was obvious the six owners of the resort were masquerading as Casanovas. That was the reason for all her snooping around: she was going to figure out exactly what was happening on the island, if she had to rip one mask off of them at a time.
In retrospect, maybe she wanted to keep her job instead of playing detective.
I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche.
Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time.
To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger.
People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years.
I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you differently.
I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes—I want them to know they are making a difference.

Wednesday meets High School Musical in this thrilling magical mystery debut, perfect for readers who enjoy the humor of Holly Smale and the mystical world of Rachel Hawkins. Behind the glistening lights of New Orleans hides a darker underbelly, a mysterious world filled with voodoo, magic, necromancy, and gifted people like sixteen-year-old CeCe LeBlanc.
Drama geek by day. Necromancer detective by night.
ACT ONE: CeCe LeBlanc debuts at drama camp. Goodbye to nights talking to the dead, reliving their murders to seek justice. Hello to scene-stealing performances and playing plastic bags in the wind.
ACT TWO: Enter stage right, hunky love interest Zach Wren, who puts the drama in drama camp. Suddenly CeCe’s questioning her “no cliché camp romance” philosophy. The moment she and Zach touch, the intoxicating energy of his magic pulses through her, and sparks fly. The problem? Zach feels it too, and he’s sworn off all things magic.
INTERMISSION: Behind the curtain lurks an evil magic caster, desperate to steal CeCe’s power, haunting her dreams and threatening those she loves. Add in another death and she’s trading in her plastic bags for body bags.
Time is running out, and the danger closes in. No one is safe until she can crack the case.
ACT THREE: CeCe must catch the killer, save her budding romance, and protect the people she loves. All before the final bow. With co-stars like these, what could possibly go wrong?
Nothing a necromantic, drama loving girl can’t handle.

Debbie Hibbert is an author, lover of chocolate, and finder of weird things. What kind of weird things, you might ask? There was that one time with the mysterious chimes. The porcelain doll in the woods. The plastic flamingo in the trees. The Hell gates…yes, plural.
When not writing, Debbie likes to explore old graveyards, drink Diet Dr. Pepper, and solve mysteries with her dogs, Sherlock and Watson. She also likes the beach. Sunny days. Blue skies. Toes in the sand… You get the idea.
She’s a Texas transplant that resides in Houston. In a hurricane, during the apocalypse, or through an extended reading of bad jokes on Twitter, she would choose her resourceful hubby and talented offspring to guarantee survival.

About C.A. King, USA Today Bestselling Author I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you different. I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes – I want them to know they are making a difference. Fast forward to today… I am an award-winning & USA Today Bestselling Author with over 50 books available across multiple fantasy sub-genres. Linda Burson, a native of Pennsylvania, but long time Connecticut resident, has been writing ever since she was given a writing assignment in school, at the age of eight. Later, as a teenager, she started out writing memoirs and attempted several nonfiction pieces.
After attending college studying English, Psychology, and Business Law, Linda worked in positions where she wrote and edited papers for others. She spent time pursuing other interests, and traveling. Much of Linda’s free time was spent reading mysteries, romance, and women’s contemporary fiction novels.
After several attempts at writing nonfiction, but having life get in the way, she put her passion on hold again. She gave up writing to focus on raising her daughters, being a wife, running her own businesses and taking care of her dog, a Lhasa Apso named Nathan.
After a serious bout of breast cancer, Linda eventually closed her business after fifteen years. She decided it was time to attempt writing again. This time, however, with nothing to distract her, she decided on tackling fiction, a contemporary, commercial romance with a dark edge.
On January 1, 2013, she sat down with her laptop and started writing the first chapter. After a few more chapters, she realized the story wasn’t near complete. Before she was aware of it, her idea of a single book turned into a trilogy, which turned into a much longer series called the MARCY SERIES. There are a total of thirteen books in the series. Most of the series were published by a small publishing house. After the publishing house closed, Linda re-edited the series, gave the novels new covers, and self-published them.
When asked about inspiration, Linda has this to say: “Nobody really inspired me to write, but I do remember my mother and father always saying ‘anything you put your mind to you can accomplish. Don’t ever let anyone tell you, you can’t do something.’ Having the support and encouragement of my family is also important.”
Linda has also published a standalone murder mystery novel entitled, Murder Among Friends, a romantic suspense novel called, The Colors of my Life, and a short story as a part of a five-story anthology with other authors called Where There’s Murder, There’s Mystery. Her story is entitled, Lies Aren’t Forever. Another Romantic suspense called The Kidnapping has also just been self-published.

Bree Moore lives in Utah with her husband, six children, and two cats. When she’s not busy homeschooling or folding laundry, she sneaks off to write more urban fantasy.
Bree has a passion for pregnancy and childbirth, which influences her female-led stories. She loves shopping for groceries like other women like shopping for shoes (no, seriously), movies that make her cry, and Celtic music. She likes both her chocolate and her novels dark.
