Devil’s Breath by Lang Johnson – Review by Charlene Gonzalez

Oh, mama if I can say 6 out of 5 but there are only 5 stars. Sera sounds like a woman that both males and females will love to have. Cassius has no idea what he is getting into and Sera has no idea what to do with her dad and Cassius. But this hot relationship is a sticky mess that I have ever read. The author did an amazing job with these two characters and how both of them make the lava in a volcano seem weak compared to these two. But what will Sera do with her dad and what will Cassius do?

The Lie That Binds by Amy Argent – Review by Santana Hicks

The Lie That BindsThe Lie That Binds by Amy Argent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nathan is the golden boy at his school. He is popular and gorgeous, making everyone want him or want to be like him.

Holly is the new girl, a nobody in the eyes of the popular crowd but that doesn’t stop her from noticing Nathan. Even when he is bullying others, she can’t stop thinking about him. After Holly witnesses something, she realizes that there is more to Nathan than what he is portraying.

After Nathan finds out that Holly knows his secret he has been keeping from almost everyone at school, he is terrified that she will out him. To keep her quiet, he befriends her but as time goes on, as does his feelings for Holly.

The synopsis of this book really captured my attention but unfortunately it was completely different than what I expected. The book was alright for what it was. The synopsis implied something much darker. Also for a YA book, it had way too much sexual details. It was too heavy for what I expected for a book in the YA genre.
