A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters) by Marianne Rice – Review by Kerry Carr

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)A Hundred Wishes by Marianne Rice
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really emotional and at times funny romance. It is third book in the Band of Sisters series. The author does a great job with these characters. She takes the devastating accident that happens to Gina and really shows you how this effects a person even after the fact. Gina has been through so much and still fights everyday however she is still a strong woman who speaks her mind which is what I enjoy. Her strength is inspiring.

Bryce wants to get to know Gina. He didn’t know he was looking for someone until he met her but her attitude towards him makes him wonder if the attraction is mutual. He also gets the feeling that she is hiding something from him. Something that stops her from giving herself to him completely but he can’t understand what it is or what he needs to do to get her to share that thing with him.

This story is definately a rollercoaster of emotions. The things the couple go through keeps you wondering if their relationship with ever succeed. There are places where you feel like begging Gina to tell him just so they can move forward together but you also feel the fear that Gina has of being rejected.
It is a beautiful story about when you find the one you need to fight no matter the barriers that you need to overcome and Gina needs to learn to let her guard down and let someone into her life.

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)A Hundred Wishes by Marianne Rice
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet by her. I enjoy being pulled into the story from the beginning of the story by the characters. They are connectable and brought much to the story. This is a story about Gina and Bryce. They both have a past and in need of healing. One of them just may have more secrets hidden than the other. I enjoyed how engaging they kept the story as well as made it hard to put down. Their chemistry is great, strong and I really enjoyed watching their growth throughout. The author’s use of details made the story feel realistic and wanted to know what happened next. This is a great second chance story that you will have to read to find out what fate has in store for this couple. I highly recommend this book.

After being badly burned from a roadside bomb two years ago, former Army sergeant Gina Fisher is finally ready to live her life again. She has found a sense of inner peace through her sewing, crafting, and teaching children online. Jobs that keep her at a distance from everyone but her sisters.

Arson inspector Bryce Cambridge has never been shot down so quickly or so curtly as he is by the woman with gorgeous brown eyes selling quilts. Luck is on his side when he runs into her at a bowling alley the next day. He’s intrigued and turned on by her smart mouth. The chemistry is explosive between them, and even though she tries to resist, the spark between them is too hot to ignore.

Those blue-grey eyes and charming smile have Gina lowering the wall she’s built around her heart. But as their relationship grows more serious, Bryce wants to see all Gina is hiding. The puckered, scarred skin and the shrapnel buried in her flesh are just the surface layers of the wounds Gina tries to keep hidden. But her deepest, darkest secret may be too repulsive even for someone as strong as Bryce.

Because his fears are her reality.
