Stout of My League (Love on Tap #4)Stout of My League by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this Sylvie Stewart rom-com; it was a great addition to the series. Now, it’s Lynn’s turn to share her story and her own “happily ever after.”

I enjoyed the way Stewart wrote this book. Instead of falling instantly in love, Lynn and Joey had quite a wait before they finally became a couple…a whole year! The fireworks were evident at their first meeting. Still, misunderstandings and an age difference killed the possibility of anything more between them before they ever really got to know one another. A year later, Lynn is treating Joey for an injury he sustained playing baseball, and he fears it could derail his career. The sparks are still there, but Lynn wants nothing to come between her career goals, so they agree to set boundaries and be friends. As she finds herself embroiled in a family mystery, Joey helps her, and that boundary begins to blur.

Lynn is not only the youngest Brooks child but also the only girl. Her brothers are extremely overprotective, especially since her father passed away. She has had enough of it, and in my opinion, she allowed that to color how she viewed relationships. Initially, I thought her view of women’s independence influenced how she saw men, and she tended to stereotype them, especially Joey. However, she grew exponentially by the end of the book by taking a hard look at why she felt the way she did. She didn’t want to let anyone into her heart because when her father died, it affected her as she saw her family falling apart around her. I was glad to see that she finally came to see Joey as her “teammate.”

I read another book in the series and fell in love with the crazy, loveable family. Joey fits right in with the Brooks family. He is sweet and such a cheerleader for Lynn, even when she is too stubborn to see it. Stewart tells the story with humor, love, and some mystery and spice thrown in. There are spoilers from books 1-3, so if you don’t want anything spoiled, I suggest starting from Book 1.

Stout of My League (Love on Tap Series) by Sylvie Stewart – Review by Jessie Hopkins

I was beyond excited to read about the only girl in one of my favorite fictional families. Being the only girl and the youngest with four older brothers, Lynn is well protected. I loved the little snippets of her in the other series books and was thrilled that she got her own in the series.
The dynamic of the entire Brooks family is wonderful in every book, and this is no exception to that.
I enjoyed how Lynn shows her determination to make something of herself, while also enjoying her time as she goes. Lynn is serious about her goals while not being so serious that she doesn’t have some fun in the meantime. And if that fun also gets under her brothers’ skin a little bit then she is okay with that too.
Joey is an interesting character and I found myself intrigued by his personality and the ways that he reacts to situations.
Great book. I would recommend the entire series.

Lynn has grown up with four overly protective brothers and she’s tired of them trying to rule her life. When pro baseball player Joey Martel wants to get to know her personally she tries to steer clear of him. Fate has other plans and it throws these two together. Maybe Joey will be able to change her mind? It was fun reading about the Brooks family and all the books were enjoyable. I am sad to see this series come to an end.

I don’t know if this was the best one out of the series, but it was reeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllllly close. I loved Lynn and Joey. Their banter was fun. Joey’s openness about his feelings was fantastic. I am super happy the family got Larry back. Jeremy was always a little too slimy for my tastes.

Lynn is the youngest Brooks sibling. She is strong, intelligent, independent, and hates the way her over-protective, overbearing brothers still treat her like a kid. When Lynn takes a job in concessions at the local major league baseball field, it is so that she can find a way to meet the physical therapy and athletic training squad. That is her passion, her drive, her goal. To be a physical therapist for a major league club.

Joey had a bad morning and entered through a different gate. He just happened to catch the scene where a fan had a heart attack. A startlingly beautiful woman jumped the counter at the concession stand and started performing CPR, saving the guy’s life. Joey fell almost instantly. Joey then encountered his mystery woman at a local brewpub. He made a mistake. When this mistake costs him his chance with Lynn, he tries to win her back but winds up making it worse.

One year later, Lynn is back from school and has an internship with the AT/PT department with the team. Now she just has to stay away from Joey. That doesn’t work. She and Joey are still attracted to each other. They try to be friends. When that doesn’t work because the chemistry is too strong, they try being together. Then there is some stuff about Larry (I don’t wanna spoil it).

This fabulous series has all the feels. Laughing, crying, angry at siblings, love for Mango and Ginny, heck, even Duke deserves some love, and the way the siblings try to take care of each other but fail at their overbearing efforts reminds me of my sisters. It is sweet and wonderful and amazing and fantastic and delightful and endearing and a bunch of other stuff. Lynn & Joey’s story was another in that line of adjectives. I hope this is not the last we hear from the Brooks siblings.

This is another wonderful addition to a great series! Stout of my League had me captivated, I ended up finishing it in two days, I didn’t want to put it down. Joey and Lynn had some serious chemistry from the get go, despite her overbearing brothers, but not only is this a romance with a fair amount of spice, it has mystery elements as well. There many times I found myself laughing out loud and sometimes my heart was breaking for Joey, he was such a genuine guy, and even for Lynn and her mom at times. Do yourself a favor if you’re looking for a great story and give this series a try.

This was the first book I had read by this author, and I am completely blown away! I didn’t realize this was a series until I had already started reading it so I doubled down and finished it. I didn’t feel lost so it does well as a standalone, but the author does mention there are a few things that would be revealed in this book that may ruin the first 3 if you haven’t read them. I will totally be picking up the previous books now because I’m addicted! Lynn and Joey are freaking adorable and may just be my new favorite fiction friends. The witty banter alone is enough to keep me reading, but there is so much more! If you enjoy sports romance books with some funny moments thrown in and plenty of steam, look no further than this incredible story.

Stout of My League (Love on Tap Book 4)

I’m sad I have to say bye to the Brooks family unless Mama is able to find someone. I have loved each and every one of these books and each of the Brooks family members.

When I was younger I had wished I had an older brother to protect me and introduce me to his hot friends. Well, now I’m glad that it didn’t work out that way because there is no way I would have been able to not hurt him if he was a quarter as smothering as Lynn’s four brothers.

Lynn is tougher than any of the boys expected and has finally had enough of those boys when she meets Joey who I absolutely adore. How can you go wrong when talking about baseball players?

Joey is the dream boyfriend. He’s nice, respectful and treats Lynn like she is gold. Though she doesn’t always see it that way.

There were some moments that made me laugh and may have shed a tear ot two. If this is the end of the series it was a great way to end it. I can always hope to see this crazy and amazing cast of characters again in the future.

Stout Of my League (Love on Tap Book 4) by Sylvie Stewart. This is the 4th and final book in the Love on Tap series and its so good! You don’t have to read them all in order to understand the stories but I always recommend it. Its the story of Lynn who has a plan for her future. She is going to go to college for sports medicine physical therapist and getting at job at Arrows stadium is going to help get her foot in the door. While at Arrows stadium she meets Joey the gorgeous short stop on the team and she is smitten. He is handsome and athletic and a jerk. Lynn is not a sports fan so she didn’t know who he was before getting this job. Joey is a really good athlete but he is a player. He is beginning to realize that Lynn was the one that got away because she thought he was a jerk. When he remembers she wanted to be a physical therapist for the team he puts a good word in for her. Will that win her back for him. If she finds out he helped her will she be mad and not want anything to do with him. These are such fun books and I love baseball so that added to the charm for me. Such a good series.

This is the 4th book in the Love On Tap Series. I would recommend reading these books in order as there are bits of information from the other 3 books in this one and that maybe spoilers if you haven’t read them in order.
Once again we are transported in the small town romcom. There are so many elements at work to create such a wonderful story, there is family drama, forced proximity, a forbidden romance and 4 very over protective brothers.
This is Lynn and Joey’s story.

Lynn and Joey have a chemistry that neither could deny, however with Joey holding back on the truth their romance is over before it begins.
However fate has another plans and when Joey appears in Lynns life after that old spark reignites.
But with 4 very protective brothers and other forces working against their relationship do they even stand a chance?

I loved Joey and Lynn. They were so well written and relatable. Lynn’s frustration at her over protective and intefereing brothers really made her real for me. This is a enjoyable read with moments that made me laugh.

Stout of My League is the 4th book of the Love on Tap series. I have read 3 of the 4 now, and I really love them. Somehow I missed one, but plan to go back, because they are really good! I feel like this book was a little more steamy than the others, so mature readers only. This book focuses on Lynn Brooks (her 3 older brothers were each featured in the previous books in the series). Her brothers are over protective of her- she’s the youngest, the only girl, and their father passed away… its a given! However, she is bound and determined to be a strong independent woman, and proves to be so many times in this book. She has no intentions of dating an athlete, but working in a baseball stadium, she is bound to see one or two hotties… Fate may be in play, as Lynn and Joey cross paths several times, until they can no longer ignore it.

An enjoyable contemporary romance which kept me happily turning the pages. With four older overprotective brothers Lynn Brooks is fed up with ‘alpha males’. Professional baseball star Joey Martel is definitely an ‘alpha male’, and so when he makes a play for her she turns him down, not wanting to be his latest conquest. Lynn is surprised when Joey turns up for treatment on a possible career changing injury. With trouble brewing again for the Brooks family Lynn has to contend with her star patient and an unwanted bodyguard. Lynn soon wonders if a fling with Joey isn’t such a bad idea, after all he’s not her type, and he’s not looking for a relationship? However, Joey is determined to win the game! Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series I was pleased that past characters ‘pop up’ in it. Although it can be reads as a standalone story, as the background story continues throughout the series I would personally recommend reading the books in order. The intriguing storyline with a mystery element and a twist in the tale, along with likeable and relatable characters and an immersive setting had me hooked from start to finish.

Lynn Brooks is used to her brothers interfering in all things to do with her life, especially any man who seems to take an interest. When she meets Joey Martel at her work she has no idea he is a member of the baseball team. One date and they find they have a lot in common, not just terrific chemistry. That is until a misunderstanding has Lynn telling Joey off and a year later he finds himself back in Lynn’s life.

Joey knows there is something special about Lynn and he is taking his chance. He will have to deal with the brothers and there is a new threat trying to destroy what they are building. Joey isn’t letting go this time though, he is playing for keeps.

My favorite in the series so far. Lynn is a delight she is so direct and I found the interaction between her and Joey entertaining. Great series, one to pick up and has a ton of unique characters you will come to love.

Stout of My League is the perfect ending to the Love on Tap Series by Sylvie Stewart. Stout of My League follows the youngest Brooks sibling, Lynn, who is hyper-focused on her future and making a name for herself. Enter Joey, a shortstop, who is sweet on Lynn, but just as overbearing as Lynn’s brothers which causes Lynn to push him away. After Joey is injured the two are forced to talk and see if they can salvage the feelings that are burning within.
This is a quick and fun read to wrap up the banter, fun, and chaos of the Brooks family.

I love this series! And yes like the little author blurb at the beginning you can read Stout of My League as a standalone. It’s so much better in succession with the books before it! The author brings the reader the story of the youngest and only female Brooks sibling. A character that is determined and has a plan for her life. A character who is driven crazy by her older brothers’ caveman ways. A character who stumbled upon something she wasn’t looking for. A character the reader will learn to love now that she’s the star of the show.
Lynn has a plan set. She wants to become a sports medicine physical therapist. And getting a job at the Arrows stadium could lead to a potential foot in the door of her dream job. However nothing is ever easy and there are always bumps in the road. In this case in part 1 that bump is Joey. The gorgeous shortstop of the Arrows. Of course she doesn’t know it. She may want to get into a career dealing with professional athletes, yet she is not a fan of sports. So she doesn’t know of him and though she’s drawn to him his caveman ways sends him packing.
Joey spent the last year thinking about Lynn “his one that got away.” Completely forgetting he put a bird in an ear to give her a chance at her dream. Till he heard her. He hasn’t forgotten a thing and he wants a second chance. But how to go about it? That plus she’d kill him if she knew he pulled some strings on her behalf. Deciding to bide his time and wait for her to come to him. Never easy and always having obstacles he’s convinced he will wear her down. Just one problem: she’s worried about it impacting her dream.
Will she go back to Joey?
Will Lynn find out about Joey’s hand in her internship?
How will her brothers feel about this relationship?
So many questions and tons of answers. The Brooks family is on to love. They are tight knit, yet no nonsense people. I want there to be more but there’s only one sibling left and he’s been with the neighbor’s daughter for a long time. But you never know, maybe we could get that story too! So jump on in, unless this is a first then I direct you to the beginning. Happy Reading!!

What a perfect last book in the series! We get to see the Lynn (the only daughter) and what her struggles are being the youngest girl with four older protective brothers. Also we get the conclusion of “What happened to Larry?” This one is well orchestrated and watching the parts fall into place is like putting a puzzle together. I loved all the characters and the budding relationship between Lynn and Joey is pure bliss.
I am sad to see this series end but such is life. As the author did with her previous series I feel we could see a few of them again as she does use crossover characters.

Stout of My League is the final book of the Love on Tap Series by Sylvie Stewart. Even if you haven’t read the previous books in the series you should be able to follow along with the story well enough. If you’re like me though you’ll definitely want to go back and read the other three books first. I loved the characters and banter, both helping to make the story flow. Lynn, the youngest of the Brooks siblings, is focused on her schooling and future when she meets Joey Martel, star shortstop for the Asheville Arrows. Finding out Joey is a jock and a seemingly overbearing protector Lynn decides that he’s not for her. The following year, Joey ends up injured and needing treatment; it’s impossible for Lynn to ignore her attraction for him. Joey knows Lynn is the one and he’ll do his best to make her see he’s not an overbearing jock. Throw in the typical Brooks family hijinks, a little mystery, the perfect amount of spice, and you have a quick enjoyable read!

The Love on Tap series has been one of the greatest series’ I have ever read. I am in love with the whole Brooks family. Their obsession with Big Foot, a pet skunk, and their quirky names all from past country singers. I am truly in love with them all and this fourth book has wrapped up the mystery surrounding all the incidents that have happened throughout the series. I am in awe of how the author, Ms. Sylvie Stewart, tied all of this up in a pretty little bow and WOW I sure did not see that coming. WONDERFUL series. I cannot wait to see where she takes us next.

This is book 4 in an amazing series. The series is about the Brooks Family. Cash, Carter, Denny, Miller and the baby sister of the bunch Lynn. Lynn is treated like a precious jewel by all
Of her brothers and she hates it. They see her as their kid sister not an almost 20 year old woman going to college to be a sports therapist. She’s currently working at a concession stand at Ardent Park. When she hears so
Done yelling help as she’s crouching over a man on the floor. Lynn stays very calm, calling 9-1-1 and keeping the man alive until help arrives. A dark haired hottie who also works at the stadium was there trying to assist her but wasn’t much help. They run into eachother again and make plans to meet up another time. Dark haired hottie is the shortstop for the Arrows who play at Ardent Park.
They end up getting together but not before Lynn decides she can’t be with him. They see eachother a year later and have a 2nd chance romance thing going. Lynn is very stubborn and she annoyed me at times but Joey kinda knew how to handle her….kinda. The. Throw in all the drama that’s been happening with Larry being stolen in previous books, Miller’s accident, the fire, the people trying to buy the three properties where the owners do not want to sell. This book had some steam, some sweet moments, lots of suspense and an ending you aren’t expecting. At least I wasn’t. Another great addition to the series. Loved it!!!

This is book 4 of a series, but I was able to read it as a stand alone and it was fine, but I will be going back to read the previous books since this one was so much fun. Cute rom-com style, with a little spice, but not a crazy amount. Baseball players, protective brothers, lots of humor, and so much more. Lynn and Joey are just such a great pair in this story! After months of waiting for this book to come out, I finally got my hands on it and it was just as good as the others. Lynn is the youngest and only girl in her family, but she’s got a good head on her shoulders and a set career path she’s working on. She has four overprotective brothers and she is trying to prove to them that she doesn’t need protecting. She meets a baseball player while interning for the Summer selling hotdogs, and he seems to tick all of her boxes and be perfect for her, despite her not being into sports at all. Yet he messes up a couple times and runs her off, and she tries to keep him at a distance but fate keeps bringing them back together. Even Joey mentions his mom was big on signs and he kept getting them when it came to Lynn. It takes some effort to win Lynn back over, and he has to learn to not be as protective as her brothers, even tho it’s in his nature. Great banter and chemistry in this story and there’s even a conclusion to all the things that have been going wrong throughout all the books, including their family’s missing sentimental sasquatch totem. Love this series and author. Will always pick up a book when I see Sylvie’s name connected.

Stout of My League is the fourth book in the Love on Tap series by Sylvie Stewart. I have loved reading my way through this series, so there was no doubt that I would be diving into this one as soon as it hit my Kindle. And I am happy to report that Ms. Stewart didn’t disappoint here, in fact, this is now my favourite of the series (but I think I have said that with every instalment 😊).
This is a fun romcom with a forbidden romance element, baseball, family dynamics, forced proximity, humour, funny quips, banter, antics, chemistry, sizzle, family, angst, drama, mystery, secrets, surprising developments, and emotion. The humour and banter here were nicely balanced by emotion and all the sweet and tender touches that I have come to expect from Ms. Stewart.
Even though we knew Lynn from previous books, we hadn’t really gotten that much information about her- so it was great to finally get to know her well. I loved Lynn and Joey from the outset, so it was easy to become invested with them and the outcome of the story.
I really recommend this book, and series- and highly suggest that you read the other 3 books in the series (if you haven’t already done so) before starting on this one, as there are spoilers contained within.
Looking forward to whatever Ms. Stewart delivers next.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Sylvie Stewart!

It can be read as a stand alone, but I think there are a lot of things that come together from the first three books in this one. This book was my favorite out of all 4. It’s the story of Lynn and Joey, a baseball player from a local baseball team. They have a rough start to their relationship, but they find each other and the banter is off the charts. They have the greatest chemistry and it’s fun to see where they fit into the entire family dynamic. Definitely a must read!

Stout of my League by Sylvie Stewart

Book64/50 was 4⭐️ and 3🔥!

An ARC, which I received, and it was fantastic!!

A love story, with a little mystery, and a twist on how things will go down. What more could you ask for!?

Being a baby sister of 4 alpha-males, Lynn is over the bossy and overprotective male type. She avoids them like the plague. That is… until Joey Martel slides into her life. They keep running into each other. Is Fate out to keep them together?

There’s “cleat-chasers”, then there’s real love. Which one is Lynn classified as? Will Lynn and Joey have what it takes to make a home run or will they strike out before they’ve even had a chance?

Walls are put up for a reason. Let’s be honest- Nobody wants to allow their heart to break, if it can be avoided. Who will be there when life throws a curve ball?

With a sudden house fire, then a family heir-loom stolen, who could be after the Brooks family and why? Will they be able to work together to get to the bottom of it or will Lynn shut everybody out who keeps treating her like a baby and then her bodyguard?

This book was a super quick and enjoyable read! Although there are 3 books previous to this Book 4, “Stout of my League” can be read as a standalone. I hope you enjoy like I have!

As always,
Happy Reading! 🩷

This book is the 4th and final book in the Love on Tap series. While you can read this book as a stand-alone, can’t imagine why you wouldn’t want to read them all. In this final book of the series, we finally learn more about Lynne, the youngest Brooks sibling, and only daughter of her family. Lynne is studying to work as a physical therapist, and takes a job at the local professional baseball stadium concession stand, in hopes of connecting with the physical therapists. She meets Joey Martel, a player on the team, and they start to date until things go poorly. They separate for a year, and then fate puts them back together, and they must decide what’s truly important for them and their relationship. During this time, as well, Lynne’s family is having to deal with many unfortunate incidents that they thing are unrelated at first, until they start investigating them further and realize that sometimes the real problem and issues are those closest to you. This book wrapped up this series in a great way, though it does make me sad that it has ended.

Lynn is the youngest of the Brookes clan with that her brothers have always protected her even if she does not want it or need it but when it comes to boyfriends it is taken up a notch. So when at her summer job and she is involved in an emergency and a hunky helper jumps in she wonders if this is a chance meeting or will see him around the ball park again.

Joey has just transferred to the Arrows not sure if he will fit in but when he meets Lynn he has this instant attraction to her but he is unsure if she will like him for him, so when Joey and his friends are drinking in the Blue Bigfoot brewery he sees her and then he has to get her onside.

Joey and Lynn’s relationship is going great but when Joey steps over the boundaries she is determined to have a boyfriend who is an equal and not a protector, can they overcome the families history and Can Lynn be in the relationship with the man she loves.

I love this series and this book does not disappoint with a great twist at the end. This book can be read as a standalone story as the author does fill in details along the way but to honest you will get the whole feel of the Brookes if you read each of the books. I love the secondary characters and I wished Duke was is this story abit more as he is such a quirky guy and a brilliant character.

The chemistry with Joey and Lynn was off the page and this is just a lovely relationship and probably my favourite story so far. The story was well written as always and the new characters were brilliantly and added to the story, I can’t wait to see if there is another book in this series.

Stout of My League (Love on Tap #4)Stout of My League by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the fourth book in this series which is just as great as the previous three books. I highly suggest reading the previous books to help your enjoyment of this author. I enjoyed how I was pulled into the story from the beginning. The characters are connectable, relatable and made the story easy to read. This is a well written story about Lynn and Joey. What will happen when he ends up at her treatment table? She is determined that he is not for her but what will fate have in store for them? I enjoyed watching their growth and chemistry throughout. They made the story easy and entertaining to read. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story and one you don’t want to miss. I have enjoyed these author’s writing skills and never hesitate to pick up one of her books. I highly recommend this book.

Stout of My League (Love on Tap #4)Stout of My League by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Love on Tap series has had me enthralled, delighted and in fits of laughter and Stout of My League may just be the icing on the top of them all. Make sure to read them in order as Sylvie incorporates some spoilers from the first three books. I have no idea where Sylvie gets her book titles from, but I love them.
In this small-town forbidden romance, there is Joey who is as warm as he is sweet. He’s just withholding the truth just for now he will tell her. That is just asking for disaster if you ask me.
With four older brothers who don’t mind meddling in her life & going overboard whenever a man comes near her, Lynn is at her wits end. Can you divorce siblings?
And the fun begins. It is funny, with wonderful characters, with witty banter, mayhem and madness, romance and did I mention sexy too boot. Its enchanting, engaging, delightful, interesting and its enticing.
I must add that the cover pops too. I like it.
I look forward to seeing what Sylvie has in store for us next.
