I loved this book! This is the second book in this series but can be read as a stand alone. It takes place AFTER book 1, follows the story line of different but adjacent characters, and any information you need is given to you. If you’re the type of person who like to follow characters throughout a series, this book is for you! I was excited to hop into this one and figure out what was going on from the first book. This store is cute and light hearted and captures the story of a mysterious guy with a good heart. The characters are so relatable and its a very easy read!

Smooth Hoperator: A Fake-Relationship Romance (Love on Tap Book 2)

These Brooks brothers can’t be more different from one another. They each have their endearing qualities and Carter’s superpower is being a broody and quiet guy with an amazing awareness of right and wrong.

Sunny is the eternal optimist who refuses to see the bad in anyone and also will do anything to help people out to her detriment. She gets taken advantage of though I don’t think she felt that way because she loves to help any and every one.

There is such an interesting cast of characters in this book. Duke the paranoid old man, Sebastian the granola hippy next door and Mia the best friend just to name a few.

There are so many laughs throughout the book and a happy ending. Definitely what I have come to expect from Ms. Stewart. I’m really looking forward to the most entertaining Brooks brother, Miller. I have a feeling I won’t be able to put it down.

I loved this book and love the series. Ms. Stewart has a way to suck you in to the story in the best way.

I am totally in love with this series and this talented, creative author! The Brooks family is qwerky, 100% relatable and real. They all weave their way into your heart so easily. This second book of the series is mainly about Carter and Sunny but you still have glimpses of the rest of the family. If you haven’t actually read book 1 don’t worry there is nothing stopping you from reading this book and fully enjoying it but I say read them all! I can’t wait for more from the Love on Tap series. I just know there is so much more fun to be had with these wonderful characters.

Another wonderful story in this series! Not as fun and funny as the first but still a good one. I love the family and all their quirks and of course I cant wait for Miller’s story as he seems the most rambunctious and entertaining of the three boys. Carter is more stoic and serious but his little librarian has all the stuff he is missing including but not limited to the outrageous octogenarian. I think I would have liked this more with less political entanglements as that seemed to pull out the more serious stuff.

Overall this is a cute story with fun sprinkled throughout. I look forward to Miller’s story and seeing what he has gotten into this time.

This is the second book in the Love on Tap series, which focuses on Sunny and Carter. This can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend going back to read the first one, it’s great.

This is another brilliant book in the series, I love it just as much as the first! Once again, this is one I knew I’d love but it still exceeded my expectations. The humour is great, and the story is well-written and the characters well-constructed. The characters feel real and are relatable as they leap off the pages and their chemistry is perfect.

Another series to add to my favourites list, I love it so much and cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Carter had a successful career in politics mapped out for him ever since High School and his first debate, but over the past year he has slowly become disillusion with the whole thing on Capitol Hill. When he discovers his mentor may have sold herself out for money and while trying to understand the dilemma he is in, he overhears a conversation that turns his whole world upside down and has him leaving DC and returning home to hide.

Once at home, he picks up his job with his brother in the Brewery as Brew master all while trying to investigate into what he overheard, but as this is becoming more and more dangerous he needs to be more careful, but researching at the library is becoming more difficult but when the Librarian decides to make him her pet project things are going to turn out ugly and dangerous.

Sunshine has always wanted to be a Librarian, she loves the facts and knowledge that is uncovered under her walls and when she spots a homeless man coming in every couple of weeks, she takes it upon herself to help him with what ever addiction he has, but as time goes on Sunny is drawn into a world of espionage, cover ups and danger, can she survive a) the bad guys and b) the attraction of the stranger in the Library.

Can Carter keep Sunny safe and his family, all while exposing the corruption on Capitol Hill.

Oh my, I love, love, love this author and this story is no different. This is a stand alone story regarding Carter and Sunny and is part of the Love on Tap Series. Carter in the first book was the brooding brother who sneaked around the brewery and not really interacting with anyone, so reading him in this book was a great insight into him as a person. Sunny was just the most brilliant sidekick to him with her optimistic outlook on life against the grey and pessimistic world of Carter where brilliant to read.

I can also appreciate the quirky characters as in Duke, Sunny’s grandfather and Knuckles the spy were hilarious to read and brought a light hearted feel to the story. As always Miller’s antics brought a smile and overall I loved all the secondary characters which just embrace the story and make it what it is.

There are some many questions which I hope are answered in the next books, like does Miller find out who’s following him? Does Gina and Duke have a thing going on? and what’s Lynne up to at college as there has to be a story there.

Thank you for the enjoyment and entertainment of all your stories and look forward to reading the next book and books lol.

This is second book in the Love on Tap series. And I really enjoy these books. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. However after reading one you will definately want to read more. The author does a great job with the characters making them relatable and also likeable. Their personalities really jump off the pages.
This is the story of Sunny and Carter. This is definstely an opposite attracts story as Sunny and Carter couldn’t be more different if they tired.
Sunny is a happy soul. She always looks on the brightside of life. Her personality and love of life shines through in her choice of clothing. Sunny works as a librarian and definately sounds like someone I would like to be friends with.
Carter returns home after leaving his political career. Carter seems like the brooding type and when he meets Sunny she is definately not his type. However as they spend more time together their relationship starts to progress and grow and Carter soon realises that Sunny is exactly what he needs to bring some sunshine back into his life again.

This is a slow burn romance with some parts that will make you laugh at the antics they get up to. You can feel their feelings grow as the story progresses and their connection is so strong you can’t help but read to see if they actually get together. What happens with the fake relationship between Carter and Sunny starts to feel more real than either of them thought it would.

Smooth Hoperator: A Fake-Relationship Romance (Love on Tap)Smooth Hoperator: A Fake-Relationship Romance by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As I stand to applaud another excellent addition to this series, I just have to say that the characters this author creates are …. human. They have fears, desires, hopes, dreams, regrets, disappointment, love, laughter, and anger. And they are beautiful, funny, real. Even the supporting characters are well done.

Just as the Brooks brothers are getting over their very weird and expensive surprise inspection, Carter realizes that it is so much more than a disrespected government official exerting their power. It all was too coincidental. All the bad stuff happening to his family was because of him, because of what Carter left behind when he fled DC. One mistakenly overheard conversation, one dirty politician, one career ruined. Unfortunately the ruined career was his. Now he had to find a way to protect his family.

Sunny is more than just a librarian. She is a granddaughter trying to care for her aging grandfather. She is a best friend trying not to be jealous of the loving relationship enjoyed by Mia. Sunny is more than a girl with a huge crush on the environmental activist next door. Sunny is most of all a woman trying to find that relationship that allows her to feel safe enough to reveal her big secret. When Sunny and Carter cross paths at the library, it is like she is invisible.

Carter unknowingly involves Sunny’s conspiracy-loving grandfather into his schemes to find a way to protect his family from the powers in DC. Sunny gets roped in because her grandfather can’t make the road trip to Memphis from Asheville to get answers, dirt, leverage needed to secure Carter’s family’s safety. As part of the deal, Carter agrees to give Sunny’s love interest a push in the right direction by pretending to be interested in Sunny. It works all too well. Tender moments shared. Riotous banter had. Even a little dream-inspired conversation. Throw in a couple cantankerous goats and you have yourself one heck of fun ride. Applause restart. Fabulous book!!

This was my first book by this author and it was okay. The writing is good however I think the main characters need a little more development. I’m almost the same age as the main chant after Sunny and there’s no way I could be her friend lol. I felt as if she comes off a little immature and unrealistic.

This book is a must-read. Sylvie does an amazing job at developing the characters and this story has a great plot. This book is great and has a happy ending as well.

This book follows Sunny and Carter. Sunny is a librarian with a very optimistic and bubbly personality. She enjoys helping people and has a larger-than-life personality that can rub some people the wrong way. She is a little clumsy but she knows what she wants. While Carter is guarded and standoffish. He is in town to help out with his family’s company after a life-changing event occurred for him.

What happens when sunshine meets stormy? Can she help bring sunshine to Carter’s life or will their relationship remain professional?

Read this book to find out what happens with these two.

I’ll admit this book originally threw me as it was not entirely what I was expecting but then that was a good thing! I fell more in love with the characters as I went along and loved all the sidekicks, plus the fact that the leads were not your typical alpha male and stunningly beautiful but unaware heroine. It was definitely a page-turner with plenty of laughs sprinkled in – a great read!

Well let’s start by saying I really enjoy this series. Especially Smooth Hoperator. This book had me laughing out loud more than the previous book. Despite the humor the author wrote a wonderful story with twists and turns in regards to conspiracies, fake romances, and protection. But is any romance ever really fake?
Carter has the brilliant idea to convince Sunny to help him. Be her fake boyfriend to light a fire under the butt of the guy she’s crushing on. However, what happens when lines are blurred and those feelings become real?
He’s trying to protect his family from some bad people. Running from a career in politics after getting caught up in something bigger than him. Now Sunny and Duke are his ticket to protect those he cares about. Do they succeed?
I love books that actually make me laugh. And the author gave Grandpa Duke some of the best lines.
Though this book is part of a series, it works very well as a standalone novel. Yes, the story connected to the previous book. However, that’s because each book focuses on a different Brooks sibling of an extremely tight knit family. I look forward to where the author goes next with this series.

Sylvie Stewart has done it again! I loved meeting the Brooks family in the first installment of this series and now we get to know more about Carter in this story. I can’t imagine growing up in this family and surviving the antics that take place amongst all these boys!

Carter is a bit grumpy. He’s been through a lot though and maybe he’s entitled to his grumpiness. Enter Sunny who is the exact opposite…bubbly, quirky, and just a fun soul to be around. It’s true that opposites really do attract!

This is a second book in a series but can easily be read as a stand alone. There is a lot of humor interspered with the romance and makes for an enjoyable read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve not read anything by this author prior to this book but I love the humor she interweaves within the story that she writes.

Hollis (I love this name by the way) is the dog groomer next door to the bar that Cash owns with his brothers. These two DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, get along. Sarcasm is strong between the hedges and a few pranks are executed. However, when the bar is hit with an inspection citation, Hollis considers coming to the rescue.

This is a pretty steamy (much more than I anticipated) read but the storyline itself was enjoyable. I love how Cash’s parents chose their names. The humor of the story had me laughing out loud. Overall, an enjoyable read.

Carter is determined to uncover evidence that he found out while pursuing his career in politics was ruined. Now he is back home in Asheville, North Carolina running the family brewery but he can’t deny he is not happy with his new path. Carter has been spending time at the library where he meets Sunny a quirky walking encyclopedia of a librarian. Little does he know that Sunny is the granddaughter of Duke, a conspiracy theorist, who he needs information from. Seeing Sunny mooning over her neighbor who has no clue she thinks of him more than a friend. Carter makes a deal with Sunny to be her fake boyfriend to get her the man she wants and in return she helps him track down a source who can help unravel the corruption that had him step away from his career. Neither though planned on feelings getting involved.

This was delightfully hilarious. I love a book with quirky characters, throw in a pet skunk and a bit of romance and I am all in in this book. I laughed out loud several times and really enjoyed Sunny, she is such a breath of fresh air and is polar opposite to Carter. I liked seeing Carter grow into his own brand of crazy with Sunny. Wonderful read.

I absolutely loved this story, not only was it a delightfully sweet rom-com, but it was filled with hilarious side characters, hysterical one-liners, and intrigue and suspense. I always love getting the different POV’s from both main characters so we can see what they both are thinking and how they are interpreting the different situations. The chemistry between Sunny and Carter was absolutely steaming and I love that the author wasn’t shy with her descriptions of the bedroom scenes. I absolutely adored Sunny elderly grandfather and found his conspiracy theories priceless. This is the second book of the Love on Tap series, but it definitely functions as a Standalone. This is a grumpy / sunshine book and I loved each and every moment. It also features some mystery with Sunny, the librarian and Carter.
Sunny is such a wonderful person, the type of person who definitely never says no to anyone. This type of attitude definitely has gotten her into some trouble in the past. Carter used to be a politician but is now working as a brewmaster.
Carter and Sunny have amazing banter. I really liked watching the two of them get to know each other and become more of a relationship. They had decent chemistry and I loved reading about them interacting with one another.

This book is book 2 in the Love on Tap series, and is a great addition. While it does overlap with the end of book one a bit, it can absolutely be read as a standalone, but I don’t think you will want to let these characters go any more than I did. Carter was on a rising path in the world of politics in Washington, D.C. until he hears something he shouldn’t have, and is forced to flee to the safety of his hometown and content himself with working in his family’s brewery and bar, though he is far less than happy with this outcome. Sunny is a librarian in a small library, and while she may have her rough spots, her name is generally very fitting for her personality. When Carter’s investigation into the situation that made him run from D.C. throws them together, along with Sunny’s grandfather, danger seems to be around every corner, until it can be deal with, once and for all. This is a guaranteed happily ever after, with plenty of wit, heart and drama to keep you reading.

Smooth Hoperator is the second book in the Love on Tap series by Sylvie Stewart. This was such a fun romcom with witty banter, chemistry, sizzle, antics, endearing zany characters, family, friendship, animal antics, drama, grumpy vs sunshine, finding love unexpectedly, and emotion. The humour, antics, drama, and zaniness were nicely balanced by the emotional aspects of the story, as well as some sweet and tender touches.
I loved Cash and Hollis in the first book and so I was really looking forward to this second instalment in this fabulous series. I think it may have just eclipsed the first book for me, and I loved every second of Sunny and Carter’s story.
The ending has left me anticipating what Ms. Stewart might have in store for us in the next instalment- bring on Book #3!!
If you love a great romcom with endearing characters, emotion, and lots of laughs- then I highly recommend this book and series….
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Sylvie Stewart!

Smooth Hoperator is the second book in the Love on Tap series. This can be read as a standalone book, but best enjoyed after reading the first book in the series. Carter left his life behind in DC, and his family is unsure of the details. Sunny is a quirky librarian who can’t take her eyes off Carter during his frequent visits to the library. I always enjoy reading books by this author, and this did not disappoint. The story is a bit slow-burn but definitely worth staying with the story. Carter and Sunny are a great pairing in this book. I love how they are opposites and the interactions this creates. There are some suspenseful moments, but they are an integral part of the story. I won’t give away more because I don’t want to wreck the story for anyone. I look forward to reading more from this series and this author in the future.

Smooth Hoperator is the wonderful second book in the Rom Com series Love on Tap by Sylvie Stewart. I thoroughly enjoy reading Sylvie’s fabulous work because I know I am in for some fun, a bit of drama, a little suspense along with fantastic characters.
It is non-stop laughter as we journey along with the well-developed, crazy, quirky, and likable characters I think this is my favourite book by Sylvie to data. Sunny’s grandfather Duke is a cantankerous trouble making conspiracy theorist who I just loved. Throw in Carter’s mother, pet skunk and a protective best friend you never know what you are going to get.
Smooth Hoperator has a solid plot and a great storyline full of humour, lots of warmth and heart, a little heated chemistry.
When opposites attract is when the fun starts.
It’s easy to imagine friends and family sitting around enjoying this atmosphere and friends.
Make sure you start with the first book in the series Ale’s Fair in Love and War as it sets the tone of what’s to come.

Smooth Hoperator is Book Two in the Love on Tap series. It is a contemporary romance that focuses on the story of Sunny and Carter, who are complete opposites but somehow find their way to one another. Sunny is a librarian who is all sunshine and lollipops with a wardrobe as colorful as her personality. She loves helping people and has a heart of gold. Carter has recently moved back to town after leaving his political career behind under suspicious circumstances. He is a bit broody but very protective of his loved ones. Sunny and Carter meet at the library that he frequents, and he catches Sunny’s eye, but Carter thinks she is too colorful and not his type. That is, until he spends a bit of time with her, and she manages to make an impression on him that leaves him wanting more of her in his life. As the two spend time together the chemistry between them grows.

This was a beautifully crafted opposites attract romance story with wonderful characters. Sunny was like a little ray of sunshine that did what she could to help those she loved. Although on the surface Carter appeared to be broody and detached, he too had a heart of gold. On the surface they appeared to be complete opposites but were well suited for one another. I loved the character of Sunny’s grandfather and the situations he got himself into, like the love column in the newspaper that he took over writing responses for. The letters and responses had me chuckling out loud and I could not stop laughing out loud whenever I read one. I highly recommend this book!

  1. I was tickled to read Carter’s story. He intrigued me in Ale’s Fair with his silent and broody ways. Now we get to find out his story. There is so much to Connor than many see. He has many layers. Can Sunny get through those layers? She is the the sunshine he needs and doesn’t know it yet. I love how much the sparks work with these two. It’s kind of a slow fizzle. There’s more going on behind the scenes. Carter doesn’t want people hurt but he does want things fixed. This author writes in a way that connects you with the writing. You feel like Cater and Sunny are your friends. The characters are terrific. Duke is my favorite. A spunky old veteran. Every romance needs a grandpa like that to create havoc. LOL. A great story. I can’t wait to read what Miller brings.View all my reviews
