A Love Fulfilled by Angela K. Parker – Review by Jana Teppih

A Love FulfilledA Love Fulfilled by Angela K. Parker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Love Fulfilled by Angela K Parker is the second book in her Life & Love duet. I have to say that unfortunately I have not read the first book in the duet as I did not know there was another book though after having read A Love Fulfilled and meeting the main characters’ friend Michael and her fiancé/future wife Elona, I am not surprised they had their own story … I will be checking it out next …
A Love Fulfilled is a beautiful friends-to-lovers story of Laurence “Ren” Drake and Jessica “Jess” Morrow. They have known each other since they were kids and there has always been something special about how Ren feels about Jessica and he has never given up on the hope that they might be together, one day … meanwhile, he is her best friend and does nothing to jeopardise that as he cannot imagine not having her in his life.
I loved the story, it kept you engaged from the first page and you kept hoping with Ren and prodding him on in your mind … It was well written, the story flew smooth and at no point did I feel that hi, where did this come from or hi, what happened here… Thank you Ms Parker for the pleasurable hours that I spent with Ren and Jess and the secret that was ready to surface … I absolutely recommend you to pick up the book when you need some picking up and need to reinforce your faith in ‘what is to happen will happen’!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love on a Limb by Laurie Lewis had me wanting more from the beginning. I have been in a reading funk since finishing a series not too long ago. I could not put the book down. The characters and story were relatable and I wanted to know more about them from the very first page. I have never read anything by Laurie Lewis before but I will now read anything that she writes. I hope this isn’t the end of their story, I will watch the page closely to see if their story continues. The book is written wonderfully and I would definitely give it 5 stars.

Resisting Redemption by Amabel Daniels

5 Amazing Stars

This book is officially one of my favorite books of the year, there’s only a few on this list and this one has just been added. You read in reviews often that a book was just impossible to put down, let me say this…..This book was completely impossible to put down, I read it in just a few hours and am still upset that it is over. This is my first book by this author and I promise will not be my last. Her writing style is the exact reason I love to read so much.

This book was an edge of your seat, heart racing, mind reeling kind of book. Every single word was important and every single page brought something new. Not only that, but I actually felt like an investigator during this story, working right alongside Grant and Roxie trying to solve the mystery of who killed Josh and trying to prove that Grants friend Ben was innocent.

I loved these people, both of them with terrible pasts trying to find a way to get along and solve this mystery while avoiding at every turn their attraction to each other. I just can’t say enough about how much I loved this book, I loved how everything played out, I love how the real Grant came out during the story and he wasn’t at all as he seemed to be, or actually what people thought he was. I loved Roxie’s personality and her snarky attitude, they both fit what my perfect book couple would be.

This author is amazingly brilliant, I’ve read too many books to count in my life and its seldom now that I find one that has me totally forgetting that real life is happening around me, but this one did. Thank you Thank you Thank you Miss Daniels for an amazing story, and I can not wait to read more of your books!

Simply Amazing!!

Undeniable ( Fated #4)Undeniable by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Undeniable is the fourth book in the Fated series by A.S. Roberts. It is just as good as the previous books in this series and I was happy to read another book from A.S. and the world she has created with these wonderful hot, alpha male characters and their women. I enjoy reading A.S. works and she never disappoints.

Jack has demons and the only way he overcome them, even if for a little while is by fighting. But when he meets a young shy women, she maybe the one who keeps the demons at bay.

Lily has led a sheltered life and everything she thought she knew has been twisted on it’s head when she sets out to find a life of her own. But she soon finds herself in a living nightmare, one she can not seem to wake up from.

Grab a good drink and a comfy chair, as this is a book that once you start, you will not be able to stop. There are so many emotions to deal with as you walk in the seedier side of this story. Undeniable could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the other books in the series as you understand where all the characters come into play.

Stitched Up Heart (Combat Hearts Book 1) by Tarina Deaton is a heart warming and emotional romance story that will captivate you from start to finish and is a great start to this series. I have not read anything by Tarina before but I look forward to reading other works by her, as she is a good storyteller.

Bree and her bestie have been through hell and back together more times than they can count. But as the saying says what doesn’t break you makes you stronger is certainly the case with the characters in this story. Bree is an independent and confident woman who knows what she wants and decides it’s time to do just that.

Jase is hot and sexy alpha male who is still broken after serving in the military. Jase has never had a real relationship but this headstrong and beautiful woman has made him rethink things.

Stitched Up Heart is a beautiful story with wonderful characters who will capture you heart. I cannot wait to read what Tarina does next with this series..

Honey Gold (Murder in Savannah, #2)Honey Gold by Lindsay Marie Miller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Honey Gold by Lindsay Marie Miller, is the second book in the Murder In Savannah Series. After reading the first book I dove right into the second book since it leaves off right after the first. Again you find yourself thrown right into another mystery surrounding the necklace. The storyline surrounding the plot, the dangers, and the family secrets grabbed me and kept me wanting more and more. While Addie has been through so much in her life and having Tom be her rock had helped her so much. These two while young, have a closeness many wished they had when they were young! This five star read had so much that I loved from the mystery, the drama, the romance. I was kept on my toes, and read this book in one sitting!

Miss Suen has found a way on to my favorite author list. I think what I love most about her is that you never know what your going to get when you read her books. She is definitely not predictable and that’s just one of my favorite things about her.

I was able to feel every single feeling that Connor was feeling in this book. I lost my Mom just a few years ago and it changed my life. This story was as real as it gets, there was no added drama and major twists and turns, I did kind of feel like I knew what was going to happen but it was more like it was what I was hoping would happen, and I’ve let my imagination take over the rest.

This author is a definite one click, her words flow so perfectly and her storylines are out of this world, and I can not wait to see what she comes up with next. I loved loved loved this book.

A Prickly Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott

5 out of 5 stars
This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Abbott but also the first book in the Christmas kiss series and I really enjoyed this short love story that had me laughing and rereading certain parts. I loved the setting and the small town that looks after their own and has amazing trust. The way Ms. Abbot descried the rustic setting and the isolation was perfect. The characters where well developed and the story line is amazing.
This story starts off with Emma Louise Fallon, aka Elf on her way to meet her girlfriend for a Christmas get away. Anything scape her well-meaning family and her ex-boyfriend. Now she on her way to a cold isolated cabin when she gets a call from said girlfriend informing Elf she won’t be-able to meet her after all.
Elf decides to head to the cabin and makes one more desperate wish: Can she please learn how to build a fire before she freezes to death? The solo rustic life is becoming all too much for her.
She’s convinced that a stray cat, who has decided to keep her company, has magical powers, that the local shop owners are secretly Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and nothing can stop her from laughing when the hot local Martian /come cop /come veterinarian introduces himself as Rudi.
Elf has sworn off all men so when she meets Rudi she feels things that make her act and talk crazy and by defense Rudi provokes the craziness as they fight their attraction for each other.
Will Elf give into her attraction to Rudi or will she stand by her no man rule. Will Rudi show Elf that she can rely on him to help her start the fire? Will Elf get burned or will she get the happily ever after with Rudi.
I really enjoyed this short funny read and can’t wait to read A Tangy Christmas Kiss book two of this series.

Oh my goodness, I loved this story so so so much. I did mess up though and read this before I read Stitched Up Heart, the first in the series. Although saying that I can say that yes, I need to read the first before I read the next one, but I was never lost in this story. This is the start to Denise and Chris’s story and at the beginning I did feel like I was missing something because it felt like it started in the middle of a story, well DUH, it did LOL.

I loved everything about this book, it read so easily, the words flowing perfectly and I just about threw my kindle when it ended. The storyline was amazing and the character build was spot on, and happened at the right time throughout. I loved the friendship interaction between Denise and Bree, and also the bond Denise has with Sprocket…There is just not one thing I didn’t love about this book!!!

The sneak peek at the end had me again almost throwing my kindle because I wanted it to go on and go ahead and give me the whole book.

This is my first by Tarina Deaton, and will absolutely positively not be my last! I have to end this now because Book 1 is calling my name and I can’t wait to finish that so I can move on to Book 2.

Many thanks to Miss Deaton for a beautifully written story, and a new series that I can already say I will be rereading in the future. I recommend this book highly, but don’t do as I did, Grab the first in the series and start there, I haven’t even read it yet and know that I’m going to love it!!!

The Cursed Armor is the first book in The Tale of the Ghost Series by Brian Basham is a paranormal novella that was very intense and an interesting read. The world Brian has created for this story is one you can imagine due to his attention to detail in his writing.

The story follows The Ghost, who is a member of The Thieves Guild. The Ghost, is the best at what she does but when she stumbles upon something that completely changes her life, as she knows it, will never be the same.

This is a quick read, full of so many twist and turns, you find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat just wanting to know what is coming next. There is a bit of a cliff hanger leaving you asking what happens next, so it will be interesting to see what Brian has in store next for our heroine.

Beachcomber Test (Beachcomber Investigations #7)Beachcomber Test by Stephanie Queen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beachcomber Test by Stephanie Queen is the 7th book in her Beachcomber Investigations series that is fondly called “a romantic detective series”. This is my first read and as I have always been a fan of detective stories I jumped in feet first (why the hell not when the leads are a tough and gorgeous ex-Scotland Yard detective and an ex-special ops legend working as a private-eye on Martha’s Vineyard. I guess you could read this story as a standalone like I did but after finishing it, I have to admit, I wish I had read at least some of the stories before!
This particular story is a simple divorce case turning into a dangerous affair and I am sure the ex-special ops legend Dane Blaise cursed the day when the gorgeous ex-Scotland Yard Shana George made him crazy enough to take the follow-the-cheating-spouse case!
I loved their chemistry; I loved their idiosyncrasies, their perception of each other, their drive, their close friends and their local ‘fans’. I promise you couple of phenomenal hours where you laugh and bite your nails and once you get to the end, you will seriously consider giving yourself a Christmas present aka the first 6 books and novellas of the Beachcomber Investigations! You will not regret! And you might even start considering a short trip over to the Vineyard …

This story had me in tears and ready to throw my phone. How one person can endure so much pain and suffering. Lily is this out of touch young girl who is finally getting some freedom. She wasn’t looking for love but it found her in the form of Jack. Who is a smart guy but is truly a bad boy. I enjoyed this story because it was so raw. The emotions you feel from hearing Lily’s pain and all her despair. You don’t just get a happy ever after you get a story full of ups and downs. You get to see the pain and joy that we all experience in everyday life. The author did an amazing job bringing these characters alive. They were given so much depth that this could be based on a true story. I couldn’t get enough of Jack and his bad boy ways that hide his intelligence. I felt really bad for Lily and how she was raised and how little she knew of the outside world. This is a must read the story will have you ready to beat someone for all the injustice.

Craving Christmas (Craving, #5)Craving Christmas by A. Gorman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Craving Christmas is a collection of 14 short stories that make you look at Christmas slightly different … or not … It is the fifth book in the Craving series. I have to say that all the writers were new to me and I loved how I could get a sense of who they are and what they write in such a pleasing way!
The stories are different and there are turns and twists and they are a mix of suspense and romance and some of them are so steamy that you need a mental cold shower … The great thing with anthologies is that you can spread the stories out over multiple nights so that you have something to look forward to after a day at work, something for ‘me time’!
The stories range from second chances to Angels and from finding a reason to live to Christmas spirits with a bit of BDSM thrown in … As there are 14 stories that keep bringing you back again and again, I guarantee that everyone can find at least one story they like! So join us in finding out who has been naughty and who has been nice!

Mistletoe Magic is book two in the A Holiday Romance Novel series by Amanda Siegrist. It is a contemporary Christmas romance story, that is told in the dual perspective of our main characters, which I love. I have not read the first book but it didn’t make much difference as I read this book.

Theresa works at the local diner and is happy with her life except for the one thing she craves, the one she has always been on the outside looking in. She has always had dreams but would those dreams ever become a reality? Will she ever be able to have the life she would like?

Aiden cannot get over the guilt, a guilt that is eating him from the inside out, a guilt that sees him existing but not living. Everyday he sees a little bit of light, a little bit of sweetness, a little bit of happiness but he will not allow himself to go there. Will Aiden finally decide to forgive himself and and open up his heart? Could she be the one to make him live again?

The setting is charming and the town has a quirky group of residents. This is the type of place that makes the holidays fun and meaningful.
The characters are fun and charming. I really enjoyed this story and read this at record speed. This story helped to put me in the Christmas spirit and I had to get my tree up immediately. Amelia and the Viscount (Bluestocking Brides, #1) by Samantha Holt – Review by Jana Teppih

Amelia and the Viscount (Bluestocking Brides, #1)Amelia and the Viscount by Samantha Holt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amelia and the Viscount by Samantha Holt is the first book in her Bluestocking Brides series that is a sweet short read that takes you among the British nobility where a lot is going on under the polite and shiny surface.
It is the eldest of the Chadwick girls, Amelia, and Lord Nicholas Wentworth who are the heroine and hero of this particular Bluestocking Brides’ story. Amelia has been in love with Lord Nicholas for ever but he thought himself to be in love with Amelia’s younger sister Lavinia who did not choose him and married a Scottish lad (that of course the titled crowd had a lot to say about). So the whole story is about Amelia trying to get over Nicholas and Nicholas finally realizing what has been in front of him and all this happens while the sisters banter back and forth and …
The writer has a way with words and the story is enjoyable and as it is a short one so how much can you expect? I did miss to know more about the sisters and also who Nicholas really was but as I said, short story has its limitations. If you want to mingle with the titled ones and feel good, make yourself a cup of tea (or hot chocolate or toddy) and pick up Amelia and the Viscount!

Love On a Limb: A Love Story For All Seasons by Laurie Lewis

5 Stars…it deserves so many more!

With tears in my eyes as I just finished reading this amazing work of art I couldnt wait one second to jump in here and review this book!

I have read so many books this year, and in my life. Ive many times read and been touched by a book and claimed that it was my favorite for that year or whatever. I can honestly, straight from the heart say that NO BOOK has ever touched me the way this book has. Books often grip me and take my emotions on a ride but this one, this one will hold on forever. Im praying I’ll someday find that she has a paperback of this book because I need this in my life and on my shelf.

This is not the first book I’ve read by this author, I’ve loved her way of words, her way of grabbing a hold and hanging on, these people she writes about are so so real. If there is an even remote possibility that there is a negative to mention about this story, it’s only that it ended and I could have read about these two amazing people for days. Matt is the ultimate Book Boyfriend and I will compare every male lead to him from this point on. Mikaela follows suit with being the ultimate heroine.Watching these two progress from where they started to where they ended up was written so beautifully and has tore my heart right out of my chest. I don’t know what to say except that this was a brilliantly awesome amazing piece of writing. Every single emotion that should have been felt while reading this I promise was felt and I could not hold back the tears during some of the scenes. This strengthened my belief in hope, promises, miracles, and prayers as well as things definitely not turning out like you thought they would.

Many Many Thanks to Miss Lewis for a story that rises above and sets the bar high for all the stories I will still read in my future, some Ill love, some I won’t, but this one will always stand up as one of the greatest. I already can’t wait to reread it!!

Beachcomber Test (Beachcomber Investigations #7) by Stephanie Queen – Review by Jenni Bishop

Beachcomber Test (Beachcomber Investigations #7)Beachcomber Test by Stephanie Queen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beachcomber Test: Beachcomber Investigations is book 7 in A Romantic Detective series by Stephanie Queen and it is just as good as the others and I can’t get enough of them. I love reading about these wonderful characters that Stephanie has created and the world she has created for them. You should read all books in order so that you get the back and continuing stories of the crazy goings on and positions they always find themselves in. There is suspense and mystery, laughter and love, bad guys and good guys.

Our lovable characters, Dane and Shana and their motley crue, find themselves once again involved in more than they thought possible, when they took on a seemingly easy, open and shut case. But as we have come to know and love them, we know that nothing is ever as it seems and nothing is ever that easy.

Do yourselves a favour and get a copy of this series and sit back and enjoy the ride with a cuppa or a glass of your fav drink. I guarantee you will love this series as much as I do.

Bulletproof Butterfly by Anna Brooks – Review by Jana Teppih

Bulletproof ButterflyBulletproof Butterfly by Anna Brooks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bulletproof Butterfly by Anna Brooks is the second book I have read by this writer and I am happy to state that I was sooo right, she is one hell-of-a-writer! The way she writes, oh my, it pulls you in and doesn’t let you go until you get to the end where you read that there will be another book and you make mental ‘whoopee doo” and set a mental reminder to keep a look out for it!
Bulletproof Butterfly is a heart breaking witness protection story of Jay “Jaybird” and Livvie “Butterfly”. Jay is a young cop chasing a mob boss who has managed to slip through cracks for ever. Livvie is an aspiring event organizer at a bar who dreams of becoming a wedding planner. They have been together for 2 years and they are starting to merge their lives until their existence is blow into smithereens. It results in them being apart from each other for years … So the story that is told from alternating point of views spans over many years and throughout the reading you are holding your breath and wishing for them to find a way back to each other and … The writer takes us on a journey of re-discovery and at no point it is given that we will have our happily ever after, she has kept it all as close to the reality as possible. Thank you for not cutting corners and letting us run gamut with the doubt and hope and love and misunderstandings and … simply what it means to live. I will be on a lookout for the next story!

Inevitable (Fated #2) by A.S. Roberts – Review by Jenni Bishop

Inevitable (Fated #2)Inevitable by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Inevitable is the second book in the Fated series by A.S. Roberts and is every bit as great as the first book. This is a sexy, steamy romance that will leave you wanting more as we delve into love, loss and bearing your soul of one person’s past. A.S. has the knack to make the characters feel real and quickly draws you into the world in which she weaves and what a ride it is.

Bella is unable to move forward until she deals with her past. A past that has been hanging over her head for far too long. A past she needs to face head on. But in doing so will she have missed out on the most important thing in her life? Will time have gotten in the way of love and leave her with nothing?

Nathan is on sexy man on wheels but he has not been the same since the only thing that matters walked out of his life. He can have who ever he wants but what he wants he can’t have. What he needs isn’t in reach. What he craves can not be seen.

A.S. has become one of my favourite authors and I can’t wait to see what is next in this wonderful series.
