You Can’t Hurry Love (A Cate’s Brothers Series book #5) by Lee Kilraine – Review by Ashleigh Harrington

You Can't Hurry Love (A Cates Brothers Book, #5)You Can’t Hurry Love by Lee Kilraine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You Can’t Hurry Love is the fifth installment in A Cate’s Brothers Series by Lee Kilraine. While this is the fifth book, it can be read as a stand alone and the story will be fine, but I am one who always says to read the series in order so all of the characters get their full spotlight. This installment focuses on Paxton and Jolene, two people who couldn’t be more opposite yet not one could be more perfect for either of these two. This story was such a page turner, that I ended up reading this in one sitting, foregoing sleep and activities to read this one. I actually bought all of the other books in this series just so I could reread all of the series for fun. Kilraine definitely has a new fan in me, I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. If you are looking for a great contemporary romance that while in a series can be read as a standalone than this is the book for you. But be prepared to fall into a book hole, as it is such a good read that putting it down is near impossible to do.

Sunburner (Moonburner Cycle, #2) by Claire Luana – Review by Jenni Bishop

Sunburner (Moonburner Cycle, #2)Sunburner by Claire Luana
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sunburner is the second book in the Moonburner Cycle by Claire Luana and the story continues on where we see the return of our favorite characters and new ones to boot. In this mythical fantasy book there is a bit of everything you could want, a lot of action, danger and mystery with a little romance thrown in as well.

Claire has woven great fantasy and created characters that are well developed and you feel as though you are going on this gripping journey with them in this magical world. The story is fast paced but you will not be able to read it fast enough because you keep wanting to know what will happen next.

Just when they thought they were free of war, they learn that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the hell that has been unleashed in their world. Will Moonburners and Sunburners be able to come together to fight the evil that is literally destroying their world? Will they find the key to saving everything and everyone they hold dear? Our heroine and her hero will do anything to save their people.

I enjoyed these books and highly recommend the Moonburner Cycle novels that will keep you engaged right the way through.

Seized by Obscurity by Joann Herley – Review by Tracy Manderson

Seized by Obscurity (Evergreen Series #1) by Joann Herley
5 out of 5 stars
Ms. Herely has a new fan this first story in the Evergreen Series was so good I couldn’t put it down I read this short story in an hour. The characters are amazing and well written and the story line is so different from other stories that I have read about vampires.

Lord Evergreen boarded a ship and sailed to Alltree after hearing about the beauty of such land to see the land for himself. Captured by its beauty, he returned home to tell every one of the faraway island and his plans to build Evergreen Castle. Returning to Alltree with skilled craftsmen, he proceeded to build a castle on the west side of the island that overlooked the sea. After a decade, his castle was finally complete, and he brought his family to the island.

One by one, Lord Cumberland, Lord Fallon, Lord Draglaw, and Lord Heinrich made their journey to Alltree and began building castles of their own. They were all peace loving men, and the five Lords pledged to refrain from war and live in peace.

Soon immortals heard of the island and began to sneak aboard ships to make their way to Alltree. Once they arrived, they changed everything!

Lady Lara, Lord Evergreen’s granddaughter, is now the Mistress of Evergreen Castle. She is a two hundred year old vampire that has fought the madness and won. Her army of humans and vampires stand ready to protect the castle and the surrounding villages from those that disobey her one rule: Never drink human blood.

Thomas is overcome by grief after finding his family murdered he frequently seeks the village tavern to drown his pain with ale. Late one foggy evening after stumbling from the tavern, he is confronted by a stranger that will leave him mindless and craving the taste of blood. Observed by Lady Lara to be reckless and deadly, she offers her help to save him. Little does he know that being saved by her will lead to an unexpected love, an act of treason, and a willingness to sacrifice anything?
This is an awesome read that I highly recommend and can’t wait to see what Ms. Herely has in-stored for us in the next installment of the Evergreen series.

High Ground – Craig: A Short Story (UNDER GROUND #0.8) by Alice Rachel – Review by Bobbi

High Ground - Craig: A Short Story (UNDER GROUND #0.8)High Ground – Craig: A Short Story by Alice Rachel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

High Ground / Craig: A Short Story (Under Ground #0.9) by Alice Rachel is part of her Under Ground series. This story can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest you go back and read the previous books. They are just as awesome and one of the things I love most about this author is that even though these books are standalones they are still connected in some type of way. You get to see a little bit of everyone. This is one of my favorite series. They are engaging, they pull you in from the first word and you won’t be able to put them down. I love this author’s writing style. When she does the flashbacks, they are easy to follow and not confusing. Her attention to details are such that you will feel like you are right there in the middle of the action. Her characters are lovable and connectable. They are true to life and will take you on a journey that you won’t soon forget. This book is the story of Craig. He finds out that his parents has been killed in an accident. This confuses him because his parents are lower class and they don’t own a car. Because he is not quite of age, he has become part of the state. What will happen to him? Craig lives in a time when there a couple of new laws being put in place for the lower class. How will they effect him? Is he safe or is there a danger lurking after him. Craig is a character that thinks for himself, he is strong and independent. He knows what he wants and how to get it. He is not afraid to push limits to get what he needs. The secondary characters in this story are just as strong as he is. I can’t wait to see if they get their own books! They are supportive to him for the most part but of course you always have some you don’t really care for. There a couple you will question what they really want and where their morals are but it is what makes the story what it is. I highly recommend this story. I know you will want to see what happens in this next installment of Under Ground. Find out what Craig’s story is!

Flower Shields (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Sheri Schrader

Flower Shields (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 1)Flower Shields by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flower Shields by C.A. King is the first book in the Four Horsemen series. This story follows Michael and Tara. Michael is one of the guardians of the gates of hell. When Tara is brought into his life everything changes for him. Tara is important to him and his guardianship of the gates and is in extreme danger. The only problem is that Tara does not know about any of this and how she fits into the equation. Michael is great. He is used to being a warrior and only lets the other Horsemen into his life. Tara is a free spirit and is not sure in what her direction to take her life. All she knows is that she loves flowers and being around them.
Tara is lovable and realistic. Many of us do not know what we want to do with our lives and how to fit the things we love into it. She is trusting and a bit naive. This lends itself to the story and her being able to get herself into some trouble but also keep herself protected at times. Michael is a typical warrior. He keeps everything close to himself and has a hard time letting outsiders into his world. On top of this, how is someone like Tara expected to understand him?
This was an enjoyable read and I almost read straight through to the end in one sitting. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The only downside is that the ending was left really open but I know that this is because there is more to come. I look forward to learning more about Gabby, Uriel, and Raphael in the future.

Impact A Twisted Hearts Love Story by Autumn Sand

Five Stars!!

This is the fourth book in the Twisted Hearts series by Autumn Sand. This book is about how Manny finds his true
love in Zoe and the twists and turns of his life happen. Set in persent as well as flashbacks this book is a veritable
twisted tail. From a singular characters point of view.

In Impact, Autumn Sands has created a virutal page turner. I couldnt put it down cause I was held by the intrigue and how the creative way
Autumn Sand has used the past to bring into focus the present time of the book. The book is excellently written and the
characters are brought to life by the creative twists and turns of this book. I was definately kept eager to see how the
twists and turns in the story line not only kept the book very fresh and intreresting but how the chemistry between Manny
and Zoe plays out. This book is a good lesson in how twisted love can be and how to keep hold of love that is true no
matter how much of a bad boy you are.

Bet Me Something (Something, #3) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jenni Bishop

Bet Me Something (Something, #3)Bet Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bet Me Something is the third book in the Something Series by Aubrey Bondurant and it is every bit as good if not better than the others. Aubrey’s writing style finds you fully invested in and hooked with each and every book. Having read the other books in this series I was up to date on the back stories of the characters which I have come to love as if my own friends and family.
It is a fast, light and easy read that will have you hooked from the very first page and lost in the world that Aubrey has written.

Kenzie and Colby are our main characters who have always been in each other’s lives as they grew up together. Colby and Kenzie who both are dealing with their own insecurities which are holding them back from having a fulfilling life. There were a few times I was mad with how they were treated and for how others treated them and for not standing up for themselves. But overall they two beautifully smart, witty and intelligent people who you envy their easy going relationship, if only it could be more!

There are so many wonderful characters that we have learnt about in this series but there are still so many that we need to have their stories told. You will find yourself laughing and crying, holding your breath, heartbroken and jealous as you walk through the Something series world.

This is a 5 star read.

Silent Innocence by Theresa Sederholt – Review by Jenni Bishop

Silent InnocenceSilent Innocence by Theresa Sederholt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Silent Innocence is the second book in the Fitz Series by Theresa Sederholt and I must say it is definitely one of the best books I have read this year. I have not read the first book, Uniquely Mine, and in no way shape or form did it make any difference when reading this book.

Theresa Sederholt has written an amazing story that is full of mystery and intrigue and is so captivating that it will keep you on your toes trying to guess what is going to happen next and you will not want to put it down. This book has everything you could want in a good book, crime and passion, love and heartbreak, danger and fear, sadness and redemption. So many emotions will flow through you in the blink of an eye leaving you wondering if you can cope with anything more but not wanting to stop.

The story is written in different points of view which I love and gives the story and the characters more depth. The characters are well written and I felt I was walking with them every step of the way on this journey, helping them to put this mystery together.

Theresa Sederholt is definitely one author that is a stand out in the writing profession. I suggest you take the time to read her works. I for one will ensure I read all she has to offer.

This is most definitely a 5 star read.

The Leftover by Brooke Williams – Review by Jenni Bishop

The LeftoverThe Leftover by Brooke Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Leftover by Brooke Williams is a stand alone book and a great quick read that kept me entertained right throughout the story. The characters were unique and engaging and as we got to know each of them, we find some definitely more entertaining than others and they will have you laughing out loud, whilst finding yourself wanting to slap some of the others. The concept is different from other reads which adds to its appeal. I mean who doesn’t love a sweet romantic comedy with a twist of revenge!

Our main character, Megan finds herself in a situation, thanks to her sister, that she would never have thought possible and it is something she thought would ever happen to her. But what turns out to be the hardest thing and definitely a challenge, in more than one way, turns out to be exactly what she needs. Is Megan able to endure what is set out before her? Will she learn more about herself has she ever has before? Will she be able to keep her head in the game? I loved watching Megan grow and become more confidant in herself and found myself on the edge of the seat rooting for her.

Overall I thought this story was fun, sweet and refreshing and very well written and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Fisher of Men by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Shannon Fowler

Fisher of MenFisher of Men by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fisher of Men is a story to be read with an open mind. And maybe while you are alone. No children in sight. No distractions. This is a very sexual story, so if you like your books a little taboo then this one is for you. If you are a vanilla kind of person when it comes to sex and preferences, then you should read this book with a notepad and a pen along with that open mind mentioned before!

Phoebe Alexander gives us the story of Leah. She is the preacher’s daughter. She is a very sexual person, trying to find her way in life and in the bedroom.

“I don’t know what’s the bigger miracle, conception and birth or just life itself, the way we figure
out how to survive despite everything stacked against us.”

Alexander shows us that working hard, believing in yourself, trying new things can lead to a happily ever after even if the road there is a little bumpy!
I enjoyed this story (because I have an open mind, especially while reading). This is not my first story by Alexander and won’t be the last. Fisher of Men is actually book one in the Eastern Shore Swingers series. Book Two is The Catch. I am hoping there will be more, maybe Casey needs her story told! Or Leah’s bff, Aimee!

Beachcomber Investigations: 4 Book Set: a Romantic Detective Series
by Stephanie Queen

5 Stars

The prequel to this series was set up perfectly. With all the action and suspense and a lot of twists and turns and bad guys, two people get thrown together and become unlikely partners on the shores of Martha’s Vineyard. Shana, who has a huge chip on her shoulder to prove who she is and what she’s capable of and Dane, who’s fighting a past full of danger, loss, and sadness, and a reputation of being a legend, and just wants a vacation on his beloved island. The two work together along side others to take down the people behind the kidnapping of a rich young heiress and suspicious activity surrounding the American Invitational Surfing Competition.
The back and forth interaction between Dane and Shana was hilarious, and I could almost feel the tension as their attraction was undeniable. The ending was the perfect set up for what is to come in the series, and left me wanting more of these two and which direction they will go with their attraction.

As this story progresses past the prequel, it just gets better and better, with their Investigations firm set up these two partners in business and enemies in all things relationship wise set out to keep their business afloat, while teasing and pushing each other away the whole time, yet the tension is so high you can actually feel it. The secondary characters in this book are so amazing and stay front and center throughout and make this series perfect. I love Cap and Acer and hope Acer comes back in future books, but I think my favorite is Ronnie, the stringer lol I see future stories for these characters woven into the continuing story of the dysfunctional Dane and Shana.

I was thrilled to do a search and find that there is so much more for Beachcombers Investigations and can’t wait to read all of them…I would love to see this as a series on tv, I think it would be big hit. I don’t know what the future is going to hold for these characters but I can not wait to find out. I love this author’s writing style and the flow of the book has you turning pages so fast to see what happens next, there is never a lull in the stories, always something going on and I Loved Loved Loved It!!!!

A Ghoul’s Kiss (Ghoul Kisses, #1) by J.M. Stoneback – Review by Jenni Bishop

A Ghoul's Kiss (Ghoul Kisses, #1)A Ghoul’s Kiss by J.M. Stoneback
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Ghoul’s Kiss is the first book in the Ghouls Kisses series by J.M. Stonebeck which is an
Urban Fantasy, Romance, Paranormal story. Ghouls Kisses is a quick read that gave us a look at JM’s unique and refreshing take on a world full of Ghouls, Vampires and other paranormal beings. Even though this story is a quick read it was well written and had everything needed to make it a good read. It is action packed and fast paced, along with gripping suspense and danger lurking just around the corner plus it is seductive to boot and is one of the best supernatural reads I have come across in a while.
A Ghouls Kiss follows our main character Sarah Clemons who is just about to embark on a new beginning but finds herself thrown into a world she never knew existed. When a blind date goes from bad to worse Sarah finds herself at the mercy of the hot and sexy alpha, Eric, who is far more than he seems. When Eric stumbles across a Human in need of help, little does he know that she holds the key that may help him to not only destroy his enemy but may be the one to his heart.
I thoroughly enjoyed the witty banter of the characters and all the twists and turns that came their way. I recommend this book to all those that love a good alpha romance with a paranormal and urban fantasy twist. I thoroughly look forward to the next book.
This book is a 5 star read.

Fractured Past (Talnarin #1) by D.E. Chapman – Review by Jenni Bishop

Fractured Past (Talnarin #1)Fractured Past by D.E. Chapman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fractured Past is the first book in the A Talnarin Novel Series by D.E. Chapman and her debut novel. It is a new adult, fantasy, science fiction book that had me a little unsure in the very beginning but once I settled into the story it captured my attention and held it till the very end.

The main character Alanna, is fighting for her life, where we see a lot of flashbacks as she tells us her very painful and horrific story. Alanna doesn’t seem to know just who she is any more, what she is capable of nor what she can and can’t do with a power she didn’t ask for and can not control. She is a very determined, capable and strong young woman even after all her mistreatment. She no longer knows who she can trust but finds herself in need of help. Alana finds herself in a world where everyone is capable of doing things she never dreamed of or knew existed. But just as she finds some sort of “normalcy” she finds that her very existence is seen as a threat and she must prove that she is not the enemy and that she knows more about the enemy that could help those who hold her captive. If only they would listen to her. If only she can survive long enough to reach her ultimate goal.

This story is well written and full of action, mystery and lots of suspense and I can’t wait to see what DE has in store for us in the next book..

This book is a 4 star read.

Beachcomber Investigations: 4 Book Set: a Romantic Detective SeriesBeachcomber Investigations: 4 Book Set: a Romantic Detective Series by Stephanie Queen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beachcomber Investigations: 4 Book Set a Romantic Detective Series by Stephanie Queen is the first four books in the Beachcomber Investigations Series. This is my first time reading books from the talented author and it won’t be the last. I really enjoyed this box set as there was plenty of everything you could want in a story, from action and suspense, mystery and intrigue, romance and witty banter that will have you laughing out loud. Leave yourself plenty of time to read it because once you start, you won’t want to stop, until you have absorbed every last word, as you become entertained and lost in the world of these loveable heroes.

There are many lovable characters in these books but Dane and Shana are our main focus and the sexual tension is sizzling, with their love hate relationship and their own issues holding them back. Dane is ex special ops and a legend and certainly not looking for a partner. Shana is an Aussie surfer chick and ex-Scotland Yard detective. When their worlds collide sparks come flying and tortuous games begin as they go from case to case to catch the bad guys.

You won’t just fall in love with and be captivated by Dane and Shana, you will be just as drawn to the rest of their unruly gang of players as well. I am looking forward to getting my hands on the next books in the series.

The Right Brother by Tammy Mannersly – Review by Jenni Bishop

The Right BrotherThe Right Brother by Tammy Mannersly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Right Brother is the first book I have read by this author, Tammy Mannersly. It is a quick read short story of mystery and drama, some humor and love. The story is told in dual points of view, which I love, as we get to find out what is happening with the characters as the story unfolds. There are many twists and turns and major manipulations in this story as we uncover the truths behind what one powerful man truly plans.

Gwen has decided to accept the invitation from a student’s father, David, to spend Christmas with them. However, when Gwen is greeted at the door by Blake, she finds not all is as it seemed it would be. Now she knows should she stay or leave? Is there more at play here or should she give the benefit of the doubt? Gwen has been warned of true intentions but she fails to heed the warnings. Now the one thing Gwen loves the most in this world, is the one thing being held for ransom, if she does not go along with his plan.

Which brother is the right brother? Will Gwen be able to discover in time what the plan is? Will they be able to beat the master at his own game? Will Gwen be able to get out of his clutches? What does he really want? Does games, power and money really mean more than love?

I look forward to reading more from this author!

Emerald Green (Murder in Savannah, #1) by Lindsay Marie Miller – Review by Jana Teppih

Emerald Green (Murder in Savannah, #1)Emerald Green by Lindsay Marie Miller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Emerald Green is the first book in Lindsay Marie Miller’s Murder in Savannah series. This is the first book I have read by this writer and I believe it will not be the last! She has a way of spinning the story so that you get lost in the world she has created and you struggle to surface as you have been feeling like living the story along with the characters.
Emerald Green is a Young Adult mystery and first love story that is filled with secrets and lies and theses amazing characters that you feel so invested in that you simply are not able to put the book down until you are at the end … How could you as there are reveals and plots and twists everywhere you turn (or turn your page) and you wish for the Happily Ever After.
There are three main characters in this story – Addie Smith, Tom Sutton and Ricky Travis at Maple Creek High in Savannah, Georgia. I am not going to tell you who is good and who is not, who is a bully and who is the knight on the white tarnished horse, the only thing I am going to tell you is that no matter what your age, if you like intricate puzzles, this is a book for you! Personally, I am looking forward to the next book in the series and I am curious to see where the writer will take us this time!

Breaking the Girl by M.C. Webb – Review by Jenni Bishop

Breaking the GirlBreaking the Girl by M.C. Webb
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Breaking the Girl by M.C. Webb is an unconventional dark romance and definitely not your usual romance story, as it shows the very real, very seedy and very dark side of the adult film industry world. Nothing is sugarcoated, what the women who enter into this kind of life are subjected to, how truly bad the industry is towards them and what happens to the women themselves, is all laid bare. It was actually refreshing to read a romance with something a little different but hard on your emotions.

This story is centered around Payton and Axel who come from very different lives but yet have so much in common. When their worlds collide, nothing good can come from it, can it?

Axel has given up on the industry that has made him into a soulless and empty shell of himself. He is tired of the life he has lived. So tired of the drugs, booze and the meaningless sex. Tired of the manipulation of the people he works for. Train them and hand them over, they know what they are getting into. Train them and hand them over, I get my money. Train them and hand them over, show no emotions, emotions are a thing of the past. Rules are never broken.

Payton is homeless and desperate. So desperate that when she is approached by a stranger with a proposition she can’t turn down, she decides to take him up on his offer. An offer to be trained by the best in the adult film industry, so she can get the money she so desperately needs. But is selling your soul worth more than your need for the money?

I love M.C. Webb’s writing style and the picture she paints of the characters and their world. I recommend this book to anyone who loves dark romance. I will be reading other books by this author.

The Game (Carolina Connections, #4) by Sylvie Stewart – Review by Sheri Schrader

The Game (Carolina Connections, #4)The Game by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Game by Sylvie Stewart is the fourth book in the Carolina Connections series. This book can be read as a standalone. I have read the entire series and would say this is a great continuation of the series. This story gets into Gavin, the younger brother of Laney. He had an accident that ended his baseball career and he floundered for a couple of years. Now he has his act together and works in construction and coaching baseball. Emerson has a promising career in law and works a ton. She also is taking care of her teen brother. The two meet in an unlikely way but will they find their happily ever after?
Like the other books in the series I enjoyed the characters and the discovery of a new relationship. Life is full of challenges and these are addressed. I like that the characters are realistic and trying to find their way in life. Both Gavin and Emerson are in their 20’s but I am still able to relate to them and the challenges they face. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and getting to know another character well. If you are looking for a fun read and love baseball this is for you.

Pretty Reckless (Addicted Hearts, #1) by Jane Anthony – Review by Birna Bjornsdottir

Pretty Reckless (Addicted Hearts, #1)Pretty Reckless by Jane Anthony
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just finished reading Pretty Reckless by Jane Anthony.

HAWT! Whowsa! So hot, it might actually give you blisters on your fingertips!

This book was seriously addicting! Maybe it’s only fitting as the book focuses on two addicts.

The complexity of the characters and their situations was astonishing.

Each with their own demons to battle but so much alike – both need each other’s strength at different times (as most of us could relate to) but are they strong enough to hold each other up?
When you are both battered and broken hearted – it can be hard enough to keep yourself standing up – never mind another person that needs you.

I literally just put this book down 5 minutes ago and I’m already pining for more.

This book has it all! Complicated family bonds, friendship, hardship, sweet moments, hilarious moments, piping hot sex and love – a love that runs so deep, you can feel it.

I love Chase – he is sweet, funny, sturdy and hot but he has a past that won’t let him go.
A past that hurts so bad that he hasn’t been able to move forward.

My favorite is Kat! She is sassy, strong willed, hot tempered, sweet and funny.
But Kat has her own hurt that she is currently trying to push aside.

Join these two beautiful, broken souls in their epic journey of self discovery and love.
You won’t regret it!

Enigma Of Life Book 1
Author Shandi Boyes

Isaac Holt one extremely hot night club owner
Isabelle Brahm FBI Agent
Isaac and Isabelle world are about to collide in a way none of them could have imagined. They literally bumped in to each other at the New York Airport. Isabelle bumped into Isaac hard chest sending her to the floor in an unladylike way. He grabs her by the elbow to steady her on her feet and when she bent down to pick her things up he had the same idea and they bumped heads. Isaac cussed loudly, Isabelle cussed quietly. The bump on the head was hard and it had her vision blurred, Isaac checking her over to make sure she was okay noticed a bump on her head. He took her to the first class lounge so he could put ice on the bump and give her a couple of drinks. Looking at Isaac’s watch she tells him she has to go or she will miss her flight.
Getting on the plane she is extremely nervous as she does not like to fly and once again after putting her jacket and satchel in the overhead compartment trips over her own feet in front of Isaac. She sees Isaac grin as he takes the seat by her. Noticing she is afraid of flying he tells her she will be okay and has a fix for the problem. An electrical jolt goes through her body as he starts to run his index finger over the veins in the back of her hand, he runs his finger up and down her arm, wraps his strong hand around her neck in an erotic and domineering way.
Isabelle’s life is about to be pulled into two different directions and there will be nothing that she can do about it. Arriving at Ravenshoe Airport she is given his business card for the Dungeon and he tells her to be there Saturday night at 10pm. Regina is there to pick her up. While driving Regina tells her to look in the gray manila folder page two. There she sees herself looking at the gorgeous Isaac Holt.
She asks Regina why he is being investigated and is told because he made his first million dollars by the time he was twenty.
Isabelle introduces herself to Brandon but before he can answer Alex yells across the office telling Brandon he wanted the paper work and now. Alex wanted a blonde agent as they have only seen him with blondes over the last couple of months, seeing Isabelle is a brunette he yells at someone else, telling Isabella that she is not here for her brains but as eye candy for Isaac.
Will hiring Isabelle work in attracting Isaac?

Enigma: The Mystery Unmasked Book 3
Author Shandi Boyes

Wow has this book had me on an emotional roller coaster.
Isaac and Izzy are not only in a fight for her freedom on murder charges but they are also in for a fight of their life for their relationship. With the evidence against Izzy looking more like planted evidence Regan is now sure she can get Izzy off the murder charges but that will have to wait until it goes to court for the judge to decide. Until he judge makes his ruling there is nothing Isaac and Izzy can do but wait. However with the one single indiscretion Isaac has had since he and Izzy became a couple hanging over his head he is in a mess and everything is worthless to him if he doesn’t have Izzy in his life.
The night that he was arrested and his home trashed by the FBI Isaac got himself drunk, He got Hugo to take him to his apartment forgetting Clara was there. When he awoke the next morning he was distressed to see Clara in the same bed as him. Being so drunk he could not remember if anything had happened between the both of them. His first rational thoughts were of Izzy even though she had spent the last few months seeing him while the FBI were investigating him and she was an FBI agent. When Clara spitefully tells Izzy that she and Isaac slept together, she decides to bring the matter up with Isaac, instead of listening to what he might have to say she storms out of their hotel room telling him it’s over.
On a Sunday morning run with Hugo he begs Izzy to forgive Isaac telling her that love is worth fighting for. She however tells Hugo she feels it’s not worth the fight. Hugo says nothing is fixed by running and instead of listening to what he is saying she gets nasty with Hugo and throws the fact that he ran from his life to. Sensing that she hurt him she wishes she could take the words back. Hugo trying to get Izzy to forgive Isaac tells her that Isaac does love her but she’s not listening. She tells Hugo that she wants all of him not half as she feels half of him still belongs to Ophelia. Hugo the darling man tells her no one knows what would have happened with him and Ophelia had she not died. He also says just like her relationship with Isaac no one knows and that it could fizzle out in months. Izzy is being too stubborn to listen to what Hugo is saying and thinks what she is thinking is right for her. Just like Isaac every inch of her body aches for him, he has her heart and her soul but she is not willing to get over what may or may not have happened with Clara. Both Isaac can Izzy have caused each other pain, his pain when he found out she was a FBI agent and the Clara episode was her pain. She must now also think what she is going to do if she is let off the murder charges, as a few weeks ago before she was arrested she was going to live with Isaac and leave the FBI.

Enigma: The Final Chapter Book 4
Author Shandi Boyes

Isaac has had Hunter investigate Luca Marco; Luca was the DA who was trying to put Isabelle in jail for a murder she didn’t commit. Hunter finds out he is married with three children, and seems to be living above the salary he brings in, Hunter also found out that Lucas doesn’t mind being with high end prostitutes from time to time. While Hugo is out with Isabelle she is kidnapped by Col Petretti’s men. The purpose of the kidnapping is that Col wants Isaac to see the life go out of Isabel’s eyes as this is what happened to his daughter Ophelia when she was with Isaac. Hugo phones Isaac to let him know what has just happened and that because traffic is heavy he is able to run after the car to try and get her back. While Hugo and Isaac are talking gun fire shoots down the phone line then the call is disconnected. In the meantime Brandon phones Isaac to let him know that Hugo has been shot. Isaac gives him instructions that he is to be taken to Ravenhoe Private Hospital where he will have the best surgeons working one him.
Hunter has pulled up video showing Hugo trying to get Isabelle back. Tallis phones Isaac and let him know that Col is on the move and gives the address where they are headed. Isaac knows exactly where they are going. Arriving there he sees Isabelle tied to a chair and gagged. Col smiles at Isaac and pulls out his gun and aims it at Isabelle. With only a split second Isaac dives at the chair Isabelle is sitting on and knocks it over protecting her body from the gun shot. But in doing so he gives her stage three concussion. When Isaac looks up he sees Col dead and the others from Col’s crew hand cuffed by Alex and Isaac’s security team. Isabelle is also taken to the Ravenhoe Private hospital where she is kept in for a night or two. Monday is Isabelle’s next court date and Regan is hoping to get the charges dismissed. On hearing the evidence this is exactly what the judge does; Isabelle is free to go home.
Isabelle finds out from Brandon that Ophelia is still alive after he shows her a photo. Isabelle knows she needs to investigate this further before telling Isaac anything. With this photo of Ophelia Isabelle tells Isaac she needs to go back to Tiburon for a few days but won’t tell him why. After an argument he allows her to go but only if Hugo goes with her and this was not negotiable. Turns out Ophelia is very much alive and is working as a pharmacy assistant and has a child that could possibly be Isaacs. Now they have seen her Hugo drives straight to the airport so they can go home and let Isaac know this information. While she is telling Isaac he doesn’t know whether to believe her or not until he sees the photo.
After a week of being in bed together Isaac tells Isabelle to get dressed and they drive to a private hanger Isabelle is worried she is going on a plane and grabs Isaacs hand tighter as they get closer to the plane. Arriving at the plane she sees a little girl. Isaac gets down to her level and she knocks him to the ground. He looks at Calli and tells her Isabelle is her sister.
Isabelle looks at Isaac remembering the photo of him with Vladimir.
She asks Isaac Vladimir? He answers yes.

Road to Yesterday by Greta Cribbs

5 Stars

She did it again…She wiped me out when I read Amelia’s Children and in this one she completely shattered me. I’ve decided that if I was asked which author Id most like to meet it would be Greta Cribbs…I would love to shake the hand of the author that has one of the most creative writing styles I’ve ever experienced. How she comes up with this stuff baffles me. The old saying “you can’t make this stuff up”? Well I’m thinking she had to have made it up because believing in what happened in this story would put me over the edge, kind of in a good way because I love time travel stories.

These four siblings were brought to life in this story. I felt like they were real people, the way they interacted and went off on tangents in their conversations that shouldn’t have made any sense in their predicament, yet did! There was so much content fit into what I consider a short novel and what I loved most was, I never felt lost. She had a way in her writing that kept me from never having to go back and reread anything. I also loved how I couldn’t put it down, I carried my kindle while walking so I could keep reading. I loved how I felt every emotion I think she intended me to feel. I laughed, I cried (oh did I cry), i scratched my head while trying to figure out what was gonna happen next, and i found myself asking the same questions they were..What would I do?

To go off subject, or as I described the tangents above I have to say that her description “a giant accordion playing its workday song along I-75”, was brilliant.

I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!!

Simply Crazy (Jaded #1) by Jenn Hype – Review by Jenni Bishop

Simply Crazy (Jaded #1)Simply Crazy by Jenn Hype
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Simply Crazy is the first book in the Jaded Series by Jenn Hype and I loved it! It is brilliant! I loved the sarcasm and wit of Jenn’s writing. The story is written in the first person point of view of the two main characters, which I enjoy. You will laugh till you cry and hold your breath whilst trying not to snort (ok, so maybe that’s just me) with all the goings on in this wonderful world Jenn has created. She writes strong, sassy women, who take no prisoners and strong sexy alpha men that will leave you wanting them as your book boyfriends. This is one romantic, sarcastic and hilariously funny comedy that you will not put down until the very end.

Our main characters Blake and CJ both have flaws but the chemistry is sizzling. Blake is definitely crazy and says the first thing that pops into her head but she is the most loveable, loyal and friendly person anyone could want to be friends with. This story is full of action and drama with a lot of crazy. CJ is complex and needs to find his way out of the hole he has put himself in since his tour overseas. The rest of the gang crack me up and I can’t wait to read future books in this series to see where Jenn takes them. This may be the first book I have read by this author but it will most certainly not be the last.

This is a must 5 star read.

A Ghoul’s Kiss (Ghoul Kisses, #1) by J.M. Stoneback – Review by Jana Teppih

A Ghoul's Kiss (Ghoul Kisses, #1)A Ghoul’s Kiss by J.M. Stoneback
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Ghoul’s Kiss the first book in J.M. Stoneback’s new series called Ghoul Kisses. It was my first book by this writer and I am curious to see what the next instalment will be like. The writer has created an interesting universe filled with ghouls and vampires and witches and werewolves and all the other supernatural creatures and she is throwing our traditional perceptions up in the air… Who would have thought, for example, that a ghoul could be sexy?! Not me, for sure.
The story is a sexy, thrilling, at times a bit confusing and too abrupt of a fantasy romance story that is filled with action and abundance of supernatural! I felt at times that the writer could have taken a bit more time to go maybe deeper into some of the backgrounds and dynamics between the characters, still, overall, it was a good read and as I said, I am interested to see where the writer is taking the story to …
I loved how the writer used the alternating point of views story telling – that of the main characters of Sarah and Eric … they do not travel an easy road and it gives us quite a few chilling moments! I also loved the supporting characters such as Eric’s brothers Nicholas and David and David’s mate Odessa and so many more … I can just imagine the stories she can spin! Take a moment and spend an evening with Eric and Sarah and co and let the imagination take you away!

Enigma: The Complete Collection: Four book box set (Perception 6) by Shandi Boyes – Review by Jana Teppih

Enigma: The Complete Collection: Four book box set (Perception 6)Enigma: The Complete Collection: Four book box set by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Enigma: The Complete Collection: Four book box set by Shandi Boyes is her gift to all her loyal readers and any new readers who find their way to Isaac and Isabelle “Izzie”. The breath-taking series itself is more than 4 books but Isaac and Isabelle’s story is the first four books so you will really get it all sweetly together and don’t have to wait and fiddle your thumbs like we did … The stories included are Enigma of Life, Unraveling an Enigma, Enigma: The Mystery Unmasked, and Enigma: The Final Chapter.
You have a pleasure to join us on a journey that the writer takes us on where we follow Isaac and Isabelle from the moment they meet unconventionally to where the journey takes them. Their story should really be recommended for over 18 year olds as it has very explicit and steamy scenes, also the languages the writer uses is utterly colourful at times!
Enigma is a love story of two complex people that should never have fallen in love, they carry heavy burdens and the secrets, oh my, they are so stifling at times. The first book introduces them to us and Isabelle needs to struggle with many ethical questions and their past has a great impact on the direction the writer is taking them. The second book gives us more insight into why Isaac is the way he is, we get to know other characters more and of course, we fall more and more in love with Isaac along with Isabel so we feel what she is feeling… The third book the writer also starts getting more into the secondary characters as well, we learn more about Hunter and Hugo and Reagan … it all fits into storyline so it is not forced. In the final chapter we really find out if the love and trust between Isaac and Izzie will stand in the face of their greatest challenge so far … We will see how far Izzie will go to protect Isaac and how she will face her greatest fear
There is something about the way Shandi writes, any time I think that it cannot get any better, it does… she creates these powerful pictures and stories with her words, you get sucked into the mystery and questions and heartache along with the characters. You question your sanity and ask yourself what would I do in this situation. You lament and laugh and keep your fingers crossed. Take a weekend and spend it discovering Isaac and Izzie’s story and I know, you will be enchanted with them and will want to read also the next books that are about the characters you have already met and gotten curious about!
What a treat!

Tell Me Something (Something, #1) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Ashleigh Harrington

Tell Me Something (Something, #1)Tell Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tell Me Something, by Audrey Bondurant, is the first book in a new series called the Something Series. Each of these books is supposed to be able to be read independently of each other so there is no need to worry about cliff hangers. Tell Me Something centers around Haylee and Josh, with a hot boss assistant romance. The story had it’s moments were I absolutely fell in love with it, and other times were I just wanted to scream at my e-reader. Bondurant is a new to me author, and even though her stories frustrated me at times, the relationships were real, and that made the stories that much better in the long run. There was quite a bit of lead up to some of the sex scenes, and not all of the lead up made allot of sense but as the characters reveal their back stories it all came together.

I am excited to see where this series goes, and I hope that several of the ancillary characters from this story get to have their own book. This is a must add to the TBR pile if you love real characters that aren’t anywhere near perfect, hot sex that doesn’t overwhelm the story and just enough BDSM elements to keep the story sordid.

Tell Me Something (Something, #1) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jenni Bishop

Tell Me Something (Something, #1)Tell Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tell Me Something is the first book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and is a great read! This is the second book I have read by Aubrey and her style of writing flows easily and the storyline kept me hooked and wanting to know more about this made for each other couple. The secondary characters were just as entertaining and had me laughing and crying right along with them.

Our main characters Haylee & Josh are from completely different backgrounds and lifestyles and they have both had more than their share of challenges, problems and heartbreak. When these two meet by chance, an opportunity Haylee can’t refuse is offered and the instant attraction leads to a sizzling connection that can’t be ignored. But will their issues become too much between them? Will they realise what they want before it tears them apart? Will Halyee survive the perceived betrayal or will Josh come to his senses before he loses her forever?

There are many, many emotional twists and turns and insecurities that will have you biting your nails and hoping for the best. I also loved all the witty remarks and the easy banter between all the characters. I look forward to all future reads from Aubrey as I find her a talented author.

Falling into the Black by Lauren Runow – Review by Jana Teppih

Falling into the BlackFalling into the Black by Lauren Runow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Falling into the Black by Lauren Runow is an intense second chance romance mixed into a love triangle that blows your mind. It is the first book I have read by this writer and I am a believer, I will definitely check out some of her other books. On top of being a romance, it is also a delicious mix of erotica, chemistry, romance and … angst … with a sex club thrown in as well …
So, Falling into the Black is the story of Evangeline “Angie”, Cole and Carter. They meet at the above mentioned sex club and there is instant connection there and BOTH of the guys are attracted to Evangeline. I have it really hard to choose between Cole and Carter as they are in some ways similar but in some ways different but both of them have staying power and it is first time in for ever that Evangeline feels she is ready to explore a relationship …
I love the emotional rollercoaster that the writer is taking us on, the angst that all of the characters feel, their interactions and banter and of course, the history that is there, laying below it all … There are many twists and turns in the story and some might be predictable, still, I found it difficult to put the book down. It is a great read that you will not regret picking up!

Enigma: The Complete Collection: Four book box set (Perception 6) by Shandi Boyes – Review by Shannon Fowler

Enigma: The Complete Collection: Four book box set (Perception 6)Enigma: The Complete Collection: Four book box set by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The first book of this series had so much sex that I wasn’t sure if I could love these characters or enjoy the series. Of course if you know me I will give everything a chance, including things/people I’m not 100% sure of.

Book two was OMG a better story line than one had but with the same intensity as book one. I really felt like book one was just about Isaac and Isabelle’s uncontrollable sex life, but I can now see it was the building up for THIS BOOK!

Each book in this series just gets better and better. However, the title for book 3 is a little deceiving, the mysteries are not unmasked. Some things have been solved but then more questions have arisen in their place. So I guess that is one of the things making me want more and more of Isabelle and Isaac. Thanks Shandi Boyes!

Book four the Final Chapter, oh my! Ms Boyes has saved the best for last! I am so glad I continued this series!!! I absolutely love Isaac and Isabelle!

I am looking forward to what come next from Shandi Boyes.
