Master Romano (Masters of the Consulate Book 4) by Sylvia Black – Review by Sarah King

Master RomanoMaster Romano by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having read the first three books in the Masters of the Consulate series, I could not wait to read Romano’s story. I would like to point out the series should be read in order for the best experience.
Having recently discovered the treachery within their ranks the Masters of the Consulate are being overly suspicious of each other as well as cautious. Romano is aware the others fear he may be a traitor to their kind, but he is not just going to be an open book. He has given everything to them and is now feeling the sting of betrayal himself; still he is going to do what he can for his people.
Raven is found sneaking onto Master Romano’s property, when confronted by Romano she disappears in to thin air, which signals she is a witch. Witches and vampires are suppose to be on opposites of a war however they are intrigued instead. As their relationship grows will the two be able to figure out a way to be together? What will they do if they must choice? Will they be able to go against everyone to have their happily ever after? Will they be able to protect those they care for yet keep each other?
Romano’s story did not disappoint. I would recommend not only this story but the whole series. I can not wait to see what comes next.

This was a very interesting book. A great continuation of the previous 3 books. I love how the characters flow through every book. Master Romano has lost trust of the Vampire Counsel. He is now out to prove himself innocent. Isala is in hiding and has to be found and this is Master Romano’s job to figure out with Lucas by his side babysitting him.

The Vampire and Witches have hated each other for decades. Now they are fighting over land they both believe they have a claim too. Tensions are super high with distrust and betrayal. Can a witch named Raven be the key to a solution? Read on and find out.

Love’s Mulligan (Stoke of Love Book 1) by CA Miconi-Reviewed by Mae Leadstone

This story was lovely and extremely enjoyable. From the moment you pick it up, you are just engulfed in the story. I sympathize with Kellie and Harrison’s story and how the impact of first love can affect you. I love Kellie’s tenacity and determination to pick herself up when all she wanted to do was fall apart. However, when Harrison shows back up all her hard work is jeopardized. Even though this book is short in length you get a fully developed and gratifying story of Harrison and Kellie’s tale. I would definitely call it a modern version of Persuasion! Pick it up and read it! I look forward to reading more from this author!

This book gave me chills about how Reuben was so eager to find his submissive. He did everything to search for her but it was not what he thought.
The little brat Alice that she can control herself with Reuben, but that she thought all men were alike. Reuben has it rough with Alice.
This is a very spicy novel that I need to read more.

Peg’s Stand (Satan’s Devils MC #6) Audio Book by Manda Mellett – Review by Deb Robinson

Peg's Stand (Satan's Devils MC, #6)Peg’s Stand by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was absolutely incredible. This wonderful author keeps intoxicating me with her books.

Peg’s an injured vet that has always been the brooding angry looking member of the Satan Devils. Not one to be crossed. On the inside, he secretly wishes he could have an old lady and children someday like some of the members of the club. No one has ever turned his head enough to keep anyone as an old lady. He fears a life of solitude is his future.

Darcy is a fire woman and has worked hard to prove she is as good as any man. Since she is used to working with men, she is always out to prove herself worthy of her place in the department and she is darn good at it.

So much happens in this book that will keep you captivated and reading into the night. You will be shocked and appalled by some of the scenes but are necessary to the character enhancement. You will cheer for Peg and Darcy as they struggle to do what is right. This is a MUST read book.

Jester by Brielle D. Porter – Review by Helen Dawkins

JesterJester by Brielle D. Porter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Absolute Must Read! Fantasy with magic and in a sin city that reminds me of New Orleans mixed with Vegas on acid. Lisette (also known as Mirage) is an illusionist with no actual magic, in a magic filled world. She has to play with the big boys who actually DO have magic. She is a bad A woman all on her own, she needs no one. Lisette grew up under the shadow of not only her other brother but her father who was labeled a traitor because he killed the King. Because of his betrayal, this left Lisette without magic. Her one true goal in life is to win the position of Jester to the Queen. How can someone who doesn’t actually possess magic have any chance against someone who does? The further she makes it towards her goal, the more she has to lose. How far will she go? Lisette is then approached with high value information that states her father may actually not have been who killed the King. Is the source of the info reliable? Even if they are, is it actually true? Does that change any way Lisette actually feels towards her father, and her goal?

Notebook Mysteries ~ Changes and Challenges (Notebook Mysteries Book 3) by Kimberly Mullins – Review by May Leadstone

Notebook Mysteries ~ Changes and Challenges (Notebook Mysteries book #3)Notebook Mysteries ~ Changes and Challenges by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a whirlwind of a story! Emma and the team definitely know how to keep you on our toes from one mystery to the next. Chicago is brewing with population, unemployment, and violence issues around this time and you can see them vividly in this novel. In this environment, it’s unlikely the Company and Pinkerton’s stay still for long! I felt like I saw more action here than in the previous novel, but I did enjoy watching Emma grow and mature in this part of her journey. Especially with her friendship with Thomas and Jeremy, her family, and her business! Emma is still someone I would love to be friends with or have in my corner no matter what. Though there were a few scenes I felt didn’t need to be included as they slowed the story down. I would definitely recommend it to young adult readers. There is a hint of romance but nothing detailed as we have seen in other books. It is tastefully done and doesn’t cross that line detail for young readers.

Rivals (Mafia Elite Book 7) by Amy McKinley – Review by helen dawkins

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This has taken my favorite spot in the Mafia Elite Series! While you can read this book as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the previous 6 books in the series. The story focus on Nico La Rosa & Mia Tucci.

It immediately sucks you in with an intense scene of Mia (daughter of the Mafia boss Joey, apart of the NY syndicate) being kidnapped by her own step brother, Ricco, and locked away in the rooms down under the Nightclub her family owns (that also holds women captive for sex trafficking). Nico La Rosa, the youngest of the La Rosa’s, a member of the Chicago Italian Mafia and the Five Major Families, isn’t looking for love, as he has very little emotional pull towards anyone that isn’t his family, or his work (major hacker & computer whiz).

His life gets turned upside down when Mia finds him and proposes safety from her family in exchange for marriage and help in taking down the Tucci sex trafficking ring & the family line completely. While Nico is very cautious & weary of alternative motives, he has an intense pull and sensation to help her any way he can.

Will they end up being a loveless marriage, a business contract moreso than anything, or will they fall for each other harder than ether ever expected possible?

Taking down a Mafia family isn’t easy, will they accomplish their goal? If so, at what cost?

Several twists & turns I definitely didn’t see coming. Spice is present and moderate, but definitely enjoyable! I love reading from both of Mia & Nico’s point of view!

Can’t wait until the new series that will follow the lives of the newly introduced NY Mafia family, the Verretti’s.

Love this series. This book did not disappoint as it gave so much action and suspense right off the first few pages. I was hooked. The story of Nico and Mia. Mai is from the New York Mafia and Nico is an underboss of the Chicago syndicate. When Mia finds her way to Nico, will he take her up on her request for protection? Everything lies in Nico’s hands. Surprise after surprise in this story. You will be glued to every page. I just can’t get enough of these characters and how they intermingle.
