Pardon Me Please by Lois Wickstrom Review by Deborah White

Pardon Me, PleasePardon Me, Please by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great Thanksgiving story for children about how a turkey can be eaten for Thanksgiving or pardoned. I recommend this book to families who make want to share with their little ones that there are traditions but also that each person is allowed to deviate from those traditions if they see fit.

Lois Wickstrom writes yet another great children’s story. The stories spark imagination and inspire readers to think outside of the box. This book is part 2 of a 6 part series of story stories all designed to give readers a new perspective. I enjoyed reading this just as I have enjoyed all of the stories I’ve read by Lois.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The beginning caught me off guard and the rest of the story took me by surprise as well. There were some parts that were predictable but overall it was a charming story and I found myself at the end wishing that I still had more pages to read. I would like to know more about all the characters in their future lives and see how things turn out, but until then I will reminisce on this story and the main character Jasmine’s tenacity and resolve.

This was a book I almost didn’t read, due to the title, but one of the reviews made me feel like I could benefit from reading this, and I’m glad that I did. This book despite the title is more about tapping into your mindset and routines and using that to create the life you want. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to change their life or wanting to add more magic to what can sometimes feel like a mundane existence. I would especially recommend this to people who feel oppressed as this book helps to give insight into the ways to break free of the oppression you feel and find empowerment in yourself and the world around you.
