Allan Mansoor was born in Redwood City, California, and grew up in Culver City and Costa Mesa, California. Both of his parents immigrated to the United States for a better life, his father from Egypt and his mother from the Aland Islands.

He was an Orange County deputy sheriff for sixteen years. He ran for office and was elected to the Costa Mesa City Council in 2002, serving three non-consecutive four-year terms and three terms as mayor. He served on the Orange County Transportation Authority and later served two terms in the California State Legislature.

He is married to his wife, Jannifer, and they have four children (Avalon Jane, Joshua Dayton, August Alexander, and Dallas Zachariah). Each has a detailed story behind their two first names. Janniffer and Allan enjoy homeschooling and spending time with their kids.

Growing up in a three-bed/one-bath house with nine siblings in Buffalo, New York, it was a just-the-facts, assembly-line type of childhood. However, one day during my tumultuous teen years in the late seventies, that all changed when my exhausted mom uncharacteristically asked several probing questions about how I was doing, what I wanted of life, and how I would get there—totally confounding me. She was supposed to dish out commands and make declarative statements: take out the trash, don’t come home unless you’re bleeding, every time you masturbate, it’s a hundred years in purgatory. She wasn’t supposed to ask me to articulate inward-looking questions. Self-examination and contemplation were light years beyond my transactional existence.

Eventually, though, due to a certain amount of aimlessness and failure, I did come to consider my mom’s questions and many more about people, time, place, and heritage, which have become the basis of three novels: Written In The Stars: The Book Of Molly (2016); Leaving Jackson Wolf (2018); and Larry Plumb Is Still Here (2024). There’s a book of essays called The Last Playlist: A Sonic Epitaph (2020). On the silly side I ask more questions at my satire website: BuffaloMud.com.

Terri Sabol is an accomplished children’s book author, renowned for her heartwarming and entertaining stories featuring the real-life adventures of her two beloved rescue kittens, Oscar and Emmy. Born and raised in Texas, Terri developed a love of writing and storytelling at a young age, and always dreamed of one day becoming an author. Over the years, Terri has continued to write new books in the series, each one capturing the unique personalities and quirks of her two adventurous cats. Her books not only entertain children, but also promote the values of compassion and kindness towards animals, as well as the importance of rescue and adoption.

In addition to her Oscar and Emmy series, Terri has also written several other books showing off her writing skills, including “Green With Envy” and “Kneading a Winning Idea”.

When she’s not writing, Terri can be found spending time with her two rescue kitties, Oscar and Emmy. She also loves travelling and exploring new places and visiting old favorites, all the while taking inspiration for her next book. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Anytime a mercenary reveals he is a prince, the story is going to get interesting. I’m a new reader to this author but I was hooked immediately with this book. The cover art is great and the synopsis is intriguing. So I dove into the story of Leo who we learn never knew his parents. He travels to the lands of his royal bloodline to find a safe place for him and his siblings to live without the constant fear of being killed or exploited due to his true identity.

Leo is an interesting character and admittedly it took me a bit to warm up to him. By the end of the book, I think he may be one of the best characters yet.

When he’s initially faced with the idea of taking his rightful place on the throne, he immediately rejects the idea. Then he and his family try to learn everything they can about royal family, their ways. Most importantly, they need to learn who they can trust, who they should watch and how they can keep themselves safe.

I enjoyed the pace of the storyline and the complexity of the characters. I think YS fantasy fiction fans will be entertained.
