This was a beautifully written love story based on the lives of two souls burdened with misfortune and unfortunate circumstances. From the very start of their love story, I was entranced. I couldn’t stop reading, wanting to know more. I especially loved the way that you are introduced to the two main characters, but you don’t really learn much about them, until they start to learn and discover more about each other. I knew that there would be a twist somewhere, but it still shocked me when everything started happening. Amy McKinley does a phenomenal job capturing the reader and keeping them interested until the very end. Very well done, I personally read the entirety of their love story within the course of an afternoon. It left me wanting more from this gifted author.

Moonlit Mirage: A Cook Islands Romance: Moonlit Destination Series AUDIO by Amy McKinley

This is the first audio book I’ve done. Regan Brown had me captivated from the beginning. McKinley has really outdone herself in this short romance story. A great way to start a series and a definite must read. It’s short and sweet, but will leave you wanting more.

Nadia is now living on a beautiful island. When she runs into someone from her past. She doesn’t want to give him a chance but then she does. When she meets his sister again things go bad quickly. The quote I chose for Nadia is: “We haven’t known each other that long, Cade. I’d hate for you to invest so much money then find out that whatever this is between us is short term.”

Cade’s life was turned upside down five years ago after an accident that almost cost him his life. A woman, or as he finds out a girl, saves him from dying and then runs. What happens when he runs into her on the island he now calls home. The quote I chose for Cade is: “The accident. That was the start of a much bigger nightmare for my family. As much as we could, we’ve moved on. There isn’t anything holding me in New York any longer.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.

Great love story. Nadia saves Cade when he is in a car accident, she was supposed to let him die but she can’t, she leaves straight after rescuing him and disappears knowing she has feelings for him. Will Nadia’s secret be exposed and ruin what chance of love they have together? I loved the way this novella come together. Five Stars

It always amazes me how authors are about to grab your attention with a well placed word. Or a line in a story that just grabs. Or a character so well written you have no choice but to follow and listen. This author has become a favorite. This story is short, sweet and to the point. You don’t get the full effect just because it’s a novella. You still get the right amount to love the story. Cade and Nadia are fire on the page together. I felt like I was right there feeling the tense and frustration. You experience so much in these few pages. I felt like it was the cherry on top to a get story. We did have some mention of some Grey Ghost characters if you don’t know that series you’re truly missing out.

Moonlit Mirage: A Cook Islands Romance is part of the Moonlit Destination Series by Amy McKinley. So much is packed into this novella, there are elements of romance, suspense, and thrill. I was sucked in from the very beginning and couldn’t put it down until it was finished. The two main characters, Nadia Bennett and Cade Malone share an interesting bond. Unfortunately, there is something from Nadia’s past that could ruin their relationship. I look forward to reading other stories in this series.

This was definitely a very fast and enjoyable read for me!!! This had everything that you could possibly want in a fabulous book: amazing characters, romance and suspense. I was instantly drawn in the Cade and Nadia’s story. Nadia may have rescued Cade from his accident but it wasn’t a complete “accident “…. years later when they cross paths yet again, there is a definite connection between these two!!!
For a novella, it most certainly packs the punch of a full length book!!!

Moonlit Mirage is a novella in the Moonlit Destination series. It can be read as a standalone.

This story starts off with an action sequence and doesn’t slow down. Since it’s a novella, the details aren’t as fleshed out, but you still feel like you got a great tale out of it when you’re done. I enjoyed the set up to the romance. It gives you a fast, but solid, connection point so that it doesn’t feel rushed.

Overall, a fun reading adventure!

This is a quick read that is filled with romance and suspense. We meet Cade right before he is run off the road in a hit that was supposed to kill him. He is saved by Nadia right before she runs away and disappears. Flash forward five years and their paths cross once again. In order for them to have a chance at any type of relationship, Nadia is going to have to come clean about who she is and what she did. However, this could put her in danger and force her to run again. Is Cade worth staying for? Can Cade have feelings for her once he knows the truth? These questions are answered in a story that was fast to read but so full of actual story!

I enjoyed Cade and Nadia’s story. Even I was waiting with anticipation to know the whole truth behind Nadia’s actions. It is a quick insta-love story that has enough drama to keep it believable and kept me turning the pages.

Moonlit Mirage - A Cook Islands Romance (Moonlit Destination Series)Moonlit Mirage – A Cook Islands Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Moonlit Mirage is the first book in Amy McKinley’s Moonlit Destination series. It ties in with her Gray Ghost series, with a few background characters from the familiar team, but is shorter and contains less action. The focus is on romance and character development, in a book that can easily be read in one sitting.
Cade was the reason Nadia defected. The target she couldn’t leave to die. Nadia was Cade’s angel. The face he could never forget after she saved his life and disappeared. When chance brings them together years later, on a beautiful island that both have come to as an escape, neither can resist the chance to get to know each other properly. But Nadia’s past threatens to catch up with her, as she struggles to keep secrets from Cade.
This is a captivating book. All through I was desperate to find out why Nadia had saved Cade, and why he was targeted in the first place. Although short, there were plenty of interesting details like Nadia’s efforts to increase the time she could hold her breath underwater, which added depth to the story.
For me, this is a four-star read. I’d recommend it to fans of the Gray Ghost series, and if you haven’t read the series yet this would be a great way to get a taste of McKinley’s writing style.

Moonlit Mirage – A Cook Islands Romance was a great 5 star read and part of the Moonlit Destination series.

I was pulled in right from the beginning with Cade’s accident and being saved by a woman he considered his Angel. She stayed with him under water until help came making sure he had air, then she vanished. Nadia took a big risk helping Cade.

We jump ahead a few years and Cade and Nadia come face to face again. Cade recognizes Nadia from the accident, he is immediately drawn to her. They both feel the attraction and decide to go with it. Nadia is taking a big risk but she’s willing to chance it.

What will happen if Cade discovers her secret?

Overall I really enjoyed this book. You get suspense, excitement, romance and so much more. Amy pulls you in with her writing, you feel like you’re right there with the characters. This can be read as a stand alone. I’m looking forward to reading more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

Moonlight Mirage: A Cook Island Romance a five-star dream of a read. I was so excited to see this author had a new series as I had been a huge fan of the Grey Ghost series, and I loved this one. It has the same fast pace, a story that doesn’t let up until the absolute last page, the characters that will keep you on your toes and will make you fall so deep in love with them. Nadia is such a complex character, she has secrets and knows will ruin her happiness, but sometimes you need to risk it. Cade he just made me smile with his fearlessness and determination. Do not miss this story, even if you haven’t read anything by this author again give it a go as you will love it.

Moonlit Mirage was a short quick read. I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into reading this.
This book was a rockin rollercoaster of events. I thought the book was well written. Very well written actually.
Sometimes I feel an author tries to hard to fit so much into such a short book but this was not the story here.
This book had so much suspense and I just kept scrolling to see what was going to happen next.
I really enjoyed reading about Nadia and Cade. This book was a great read!

As a fan of Amy McKinley’s ‘Gray Ghost’ series I was looking forward to this first book in her new ‘Moonlit Destination’ series and this novel definitely did not disappoint. A fairly short book at only 80 pages it is packed full of action and has a great storyline. Nadia Bennett has Cade Malone under surveillance when she acts against her orders and rescues him when he has a car accident. They both share a once in a lifetime connection but although the chemistry between the two is instant and reciprocated due to the reasons why Nadia was there at the time, saving him will have to do and she has to walk away. However Cade never forgets the ‘underwater angel’ who saved him all those years ago and so when a chance encounter under the moonlight brings the couple together again he is determined not to let her get away this time. Nadia also recognises their chemistry and can not walk away again and so risks everything to be with him, unfortunately a dark secret from her past could destroy their relationship.
This novel had me gripped from page one and I could not put it down, full of adventure, excitement, suspense, past secrets and romance it is a fast paced read, all with the breathtaking Cook Islands as it’s backdrop. The author takes you on an emotional rollercoaster but thankfully it does have a happy ever after ending. For readers of the ‘Gray Ghost’ novels there is a crossover between the books however you do not need to have read them to enjoy this book. I look forward to reading further books in this series by Amy McKinley.

Oh my god I absolutely LOVED this book!! Amy McKinley is one of my favourite authors so I was really excited to read this from her and it was everything I would expect from one of her novels! It may have only been a short read but it was jam packed full of story! The action started out straight away for Cade and Nadia – the main characters and I fell in love with them both straight away! I also loved that there was a little cross over between this book and the Gray Ghost series – but even if you haven’t read those it will not matter this story is amazing as a standalone! (I wholly recommend the other series though also!) Some great twists and turns in the story meant I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through – and for a short story, as mentioned earlier, I think that the author did an amazing job of creating such an exciting read!

Moonlit Mirage is an exciting story that kept me hooked from the very start. The author packs a lot into this short story, and I absolutely loved the characters of Cade and Nadia, they have a strong connection from the very beginning. There are some unexpected twists and turns throughout which make you want to keep on reading.
I would love a follow up book to explore the characters more as they both have much more to give.

This book had me hooked from the beginning!! Even though this is a shorter read it still has everything from, romance, suspense, twists and turns, and let’s not forget the wonderful characters. When Cade was in a car accident one night and was saved by Nadia he couldn’t get her out of his head. Nadia felt the connection between them as well and she risked everything by saving him. Nadia has a secret from her past that might jeopardize a chance at a relationship these two might be able to pursue after running into each other years later. This is a must read if you want to find out what happens between these two. This author is an exceptional writer and I always look forward to reading anything and everything she puts out.
