Forbidden Wolf(The Shadow Chronicles Book 1) by CR Robertson – Review by La Toya Lewis

Forbidden Wolf is the first book in The Shadow Chronicles series and it is a homerun! From the first page, I was hooked. I absolutely adore Levi! I would have actually loved more focus on Levi. I feel that he is a more interesting character. I love a good wolf story and this book does not disappoint. The action scenes as well as the whole book are very well written. I found myself unable to put it down. The romance is on point and I found myself caring not only for the main characters but their loved ones as well. The plot is well done and it makes you want to jump right into book 2.

I’m so sad it has to end. Tasha and Levi are absolute paranormal perfection. Tasha and Levi’s daughter, Persephone, could save both species with her amazing powers. I just can’t get enough of these books.

Anton Kingston has reached his happy place. He has it all right down to his family and his one true love. Elsa Fitzgerald has worked hard to become successful in the real estate business. One would think she had it all. Well she did! By dating Anton long distances they soon became engaged, as they dated for over a year. So when Anton asked for her hand in marriage, she just had to say yes. LIFE WAS BETTER THAN EVER. These two beautiful happy people come together. As their marriage moves forward, life for Anton and Elsa begins to shatter, challenging their love. This author has a way of bringing to life the challenges most of us have experienced. I felt so close to Elsa and Anton. My heart broke for them both. But as I read on I could see the changes that could have broken the family apart. But we know there has to be a HEA. So the author had her work cut out for her. Read on to see if they do get their HEA. Bring tissue, chocolate and your drink of choice. You are going to be here for a while. There will be tears, some very intense moments, and some strength that will blow your mind. This book has it all.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Shelly Kittell

What an adrenaline ride! From the beginning the story grabs you. It’s well-written with a plot full of twists, turns and lots of adventures. The characters are all quite the personalities, and yet, somehow they all blend into a terrific story that you just can’t stop listening too. The narration is again done by fantastic narrators. They keep you engaged and wanting to find out what’s going to happen. I love this series and I have been reading it on Kindle. The narration just grabs you and gets the adrenaline going because you can feel that action even more when the story is read. Overall, I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. Terrific story that will keep you going until the last page. I highly recommend it.

Horrible things are happening in The Sentinel and our team of heroes is on the case. Difficult decisions and serious character growth occur. And of course, tons of action to keep you on your toes! Dahlia’s world is only growing in complexity as she tries to make sense of it all. I can’t wait for what comes next!

This book was super informative and helpful. As a hopeful and blossoming writer, I hope to some day be able to promote my works and have been looking for ways to do so. This book was well written, informative and funny. You can tell she has real-life experience and every bit of this title was helpful. I’ve never actually read any of her books, but now I certainly want to! I’d give this book a solid 5/5.

Apocalypse Thoughts (The Pox Series Book 5) by Kendra Griffin – Review by Moriah Venable

This was such a fun and different read then what I would generally read.

Spring Break in Georgia for Kella O’ Malley turns deadly when people start to become cannibals.

Time is ticking to deliver something important on the path of the Appalachian Trail, with the help of other people she may be able to keep herself and little brother alive.

This reminded me of ‘The Walking Dead’ meets ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ which is one of my favorite shows. I don’t care for zombies too much but the premise was something I could not resist.

Being set during a pandemic also gives the impression of the COVID pandemic that we are currently still presently in or this could be a future where zombies exist. There are so many stories and tv shows about zombies and with each one, I know I do not wish to be apart of it. And if I am, I can hope I can be similar to Kella as far as her role.

I think this was written well and kept me engaged. I recommend for people looking for something different to read.

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson – Review by Amy Brennan

I could not wait to start reading the second installment in this series, and let me tell you, this author really does not disappoint. I love when a series picks up right where it has left off, rather than skipping a few years, and that is what you can expect from this novel. She is so thorough in her world and character building that there are rarely questions left unanswered. I have to say, I am very glad that we were quickly introduced to another member of Tasha’s family, giving us more of her background and a greater appreciation for all that her family did to protect not only her, but her sister, Kimber, too. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader captivated, as well as having me once again chomping at the bit to commence the third installment to see what happens next!

This series explores a few different genres, the paranormal aspect, the action and the romance has captured my attention and has certainly had me having some of the coolest, yet weirdest dream that I’ve experienced in a long time, not that I’m complaining! I highly recommend giving these novels a read, and other works by this author.

*Howls into the moonlight. * This is exactly what I have been looking for to fill my time. Not only does this novel have a dystopian vibe to it, but it has your supernatural, romantic, forbidden love aspects all tied into one lovely package. I honestly didn’t want to put it down, and I’m so excited to embark on the next two installments, very happy that I waited until there was more than the first to start embarking on this adventure.

The authors writing style, her ability to draw you into the dark woods and fall for both the main characters, is astounding. The introduction of other characters and enemies is flawless, and you really bond with Tasha and Levi right from the start. The development of these characters and their fight to stay together and continue to understand each other as they change/mature, fight for what they believe in is heart-warming. I have recommended this series to others, and please excuse me while I dive deep into the next. Must read!

So I have seen others write that reading this AMAZING book and conclusion to this series has been bittersweet for them and I totally agree, that is a really good way to describe how I was feeling too! I was so excited to continue the story and find out what was going to happen and yes, once again I was completely hooked from page one but at the same time I didn’t want my time with these fantastic characters and this amazing world to end. The need to know won out of course and I devoured the book as quickly as possible! If I could give more than 5 little stars I absolutely would!
With the Vampires and Lycans now coming together to go against the Hellspawn you just know there is going to be non stop action…Can they come out the other side of all this victorious? you have to read this to find out…no spoilers given here But I will say this…you are crazy if you don’t get reading this book NOW!!

Tasha and Levi are back and again they had me hooked from the first word to the last. I just couldn’t stop reading because there is always something happening. There truly is never a dull moment. They have gone from enemies to fated mates and now have to decide what they can and can’t believe from Lies told for centuries! As they delve into things looking for answers I swear at times more questions arise then actual answers. I am totally hooked on these characters and this world even if Castus gives me the creeps!
If you haven’t read Book one I HIGHLY recommend no make that you HAVE TO read it first! Believe me it is worth it!

I was in a bit of a reading funk then I picked up my kindle and opened this book! OMG!!!! My funk is 100% gone because I am now totally hooked on this amazing author and her books. I just couldn’t put it down. Please keep them coming I say.
If you love paranormal books then you have read plenty featuring not only Vampires and Lycans but also it seems their almost traditional hatred for each other, this series brings a brand new twist.
Tasha ( a vampire) and Levi (a Lycan) are suppose to be enemies but their connection and dare I say undeniable chemistry makes staying that way impossible. Of course things don’t go smoothly, that would be boring right but I promise you, you will thoroughly enjoy every twist and turn along the way. Bring on book 2.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a decent read. It had a really good storyline and interesting characters. However I couldn’t get into this one easily. I think I was having an off reading day, but no matter how much I tried to concentrate and read I just couldn’t make sense of some of the story. The timeline seemed wonky and just random part of the times and then at others the conversations seemed a little forced. I’ve read two previous installments of this series in the past and while they had some of the same issues I didn’t notice it as bad as I did this time around. Again I think it was just an off reading day because when I could get into the story the plot was interesting, the characters were interesting, and it was really good I just had a lot of trouble getting into this one. Maybe next time will be better for me!

“ConQuest: The Art of Selling at Cons,” by Megan Mackie is a very useful book which gives a lot of detailed information on how to successfully market and promote self-published works. I picked this book as I do intend to self publish my books and I was looking for guidance. I know of many first time authors who struggle to promote their books and end up paying tons of money to the retailers to place them in the stores. The checklist is very useful for the promotional events. Though she does center the book around a particular genre, I think the strategies could be applied across genres to market your book. Very useful book. Definitely recommended.

Lizbeth Gordon, loses her husband and her two sons away at college, she sets out across the country for a journey that covered more time and space then she could have imagined. I really got into this book as I am interested in doing my genealogy. Made me realize that as much as I want to learn about where I came from, there may be things I also don’t wan to know, like connections to slavery and secrets that don’t get passed down to the next generation but hidden away to hopefully never be uncovered.

What an ending to the series! Just as Maggie and Will get their happy ending, a tragedy unfolds in their lives that causes conflict like they’ve never experienced. The entire series was a roller coaster of emotions that kept you guessing what might happen next but nothing like the last book. It definitely made it hard for me to put the book down at times, my partner definitely was put on the back burner as I raced to finish the series. I am so happy that I was able to discover such a fantastic author, I look forward to reading more by her in the years to come!

Even better than the first! Will and Maggie pick up right where the previous book left off, the adventure that started nowhere close to being over. Maggie herself grew a lot as a character in the book, which was great to see because in the period that the book takes place in, many women were seen but not heard. It was a quick read for me and every time I thought that I was going to get a break there was more added to the story that kept me drawn in. A definite rollercoaster of emotions for me but I’m really excited to read the next book in the series!

This is the third and last book in the Rebecca Steele series by Joanne Patterson. I highly recommend reading the books in order. This is a sweet romance that has some drama, challenges, and emotions throughout this book. Like before this book drew me in from the first page until the last word. I love Becky’s story because she has been loving life. She has had some minor bumps in the road but nothing that strength, faith, and a bit of attitude cannot fix. This book has taken me for an emotional ride that I was willing to take to see what happens to Becky. I highly recommend this book but do not forget to read the first two books first.

Face the Fire (Moore Family Saga Book 5) by Michele Sims. I have loved this series so much and this book was no different. This could be read as a standalone. This is the continuing saga of the Moore family and in this book Miles and Bella have finally gotten married and have had twins. Bella is very family oriented and always puts them first. Miles is more career motivated and wants nothing more than to have a very successful music career. Bella is the Chief Marketing Officer for their growing company and she knows that any competition is going to be cut throat. While she learns more about the music industry and their competitors she realizes it can be very dangerous and she will do anything to protect her family. Will they be able to continue to grow their business and keep their family safe or will it tear Miles and Bella apart? Read this great addition to this series!

The sibling dynamic is such a refreshing change to majority YA books. I need to read the next one so bad! It will having you laughing along with the characters. The banter is amazing! The humor just makes it feel real in what could be scary reality. Each character just flows so well with each other.

Book 1 in the Shadow Chronicles books, Forbidden Wolf, was so much more than I expected it to be. Most paranormal romance style books follow the same trope, and although I still read them – they don’t come across as terribly unique. This book has so much more happening than the 2 species and a forbidden romance. I was invested in the mystery of this book, and it also still offered steamy scenes and action.

Levi and Tasha are back, and their story is as well written as before. My one complaint is that Tasha seems to have to tone herself down because she relies so strongly on Levi, but partnership always has some give and take. This is a paranormal romance unlike others I have read, and book 1 to book 2 is well carried over. A new level is added to the story in this book, but it doesn’t leave past issues forgotten. Looking forward to some solved mysteries in book 3, and finding out if love continues to win between 2 different species.

A Fantastic five-star read. This is the start of the Moore Family Saga and it just starts with a bang, showing us about how this author manages to create characters that will ensnare you, they will have you caring about them in the first few pages and all the way through. I weirdly started this series at book four, and then realised that I could go back and read them all and I am, its great. Coming back to the start and sinking my teeth in again, was like coming back to old friends, falling in love again. This is a great story and I am so excited to sink into number two.

The challenges Aston and Elsa face were hard. I loved following them as they overcame their challenges. The chemistry is spicy, just what I like to see in a romance. The characters are well-written and easy to relate to. It’s a fantastic book that you should give a hot. I highly recommend.

However, differing from the first book I did find Anton and Elsa’s story to be a extreme emotional rollercoaster with more realistic themes to the story.
