I am a science nerd and this story registered with my soul. It’s a beautifully written slow burn romance about healing and taking a leap of faith in love. I absolutely loved all the bird facts. I loved the character development and growth. If you’re looking for a story that gives you all the warmth and feels this one (and the other in the series) will do that for you.

I was thrilled to get to read the second book in this series! The author does such an amazing job of writing such memorable characters that you fall in love with as you watch them fall in love. We meet Tasha, a nurse who is struggling with a recent break up and Caleb, who is looking for a fresh start somewhere new after his divorce. The two of them are brought together by their love of birds at the local sanctuary. The characters are extremely relatable and real. These are people who you would want to hang out with in the real world, have some yummy brews at Beakers while you hear all about their lives. If you are a fan of very sweet characters who you will fall in love with, this is the perfect feel good story to check out!

I’m so enjoying the cover art and what’s in between the pages has been such a treat 📕❣️

So when I first started this book I found myself googling the birds so I could the full experience and at a stage I thought cripes there’s not going to be a real story and let me tell you I was soooooo off base 🤣🥰🙈 this really has been one of my favourite reads for the year 🤩

There were so many highlights for me and memories I’ll walk away with will be treasured and the laughs I had and the new sayings I learnt were memorable.

At the end of the day we all want someone that sees us for who we are and make us feel we matter and that’s exactly what Tash and Caleb want and find in each other and both are on a self healing self discovery journey but they just do it better together and Barnaby just owns my heart 🐾❣️

I love their honesty , they’re just so real and relatable and you can’t help but love them . I must be honest I was a little jealous of their owl walk 🥹and all the delicious brews they get to enjoy at Beakers 😉

Caleb is so good with kids and how he relates to people when talking about the birds and conservation, you can’t help but like this guy . He’s just perfect for Tash 🥰

When I started my review I ended up re reading the whole book so that should tell you how much I loved it 😉🥰📕

Amy Q. Barker’s “Tasha and the Biologist” is a charming tale that blends romance with a deep appreciation for the natural world. The story follows Tasha, a nurse who finds solace in birdwatching, and Caleb, a renowned biologist who comes to town for a research project. Their paths cross unexpectedly, leading to a heartwarming connection fueled by their shared passion for birds.

Barker’s writing is both lyrical and engaging, painting vivid pictures of the small-town setting and the diverse avian species that inhabit it. The novel delves into themes of loss, healing, and the importance of human connection, all woven together through the lens of birdwatching.

“Tasha and the Biologist” is a delightful read for those seeking a heartwarming romance with a touch of environmental awareness. It’s a celebration of nature’s beauty and the power of love to mend broken hearts.

Tasha Moore was tired of being a doormat in all of her relationships. Inspired by a television show, Tasha decided she would stop hiding her feelings. Brutal honesty became her mantra. Her best friend, Ella, agreed it would be a new way of handling any new relationships she entered. Ella begged Tasha to join her at Winter fest because Ella’s mother-in-law was visiting. Liam and Ella had been going to a fertility doctor; however, his mother was persistent with her insistence for grandchildren. Tasha agrees, hoping to see the new tour guide from Granger Pond. She had met him as he led their group to see the whooping cranes. Despite going on the tour multiple times for years, Tasha is excited to see Daisy, a crane she had seen there for years.

Caleb was immediately smitten with Tasha when he had taken her and a couple to see the cranes. Her familiarity with the area and the flock captivated him completely. At the Winter Festival, Caleb sees her with Ella and they decide to meet later at the local bar, Beakers. The evening goes well and a drunken Ella sets Tasha and Caleb up on their first date. Neither of them can wait for the date, engaging in text phone calls for the following days. Then Tasha stops communicating with Caleb. She arrives at his cabin on Friday evening and he is instantly relieved. After revealing why he had moved to Indiana, the couple shared kisses. The next afternoon, Tasha invites Caleb to join her and her friends at Beakers for karaoke. Tasha’s past is about to make a scene, and it’s not the only thing she hasn’t told Caleb about.

Tasha and the Biologist is a romance story that unites two people who are recovering from their painful pasts. The tension as each one tells their past secrets is palpable. The unpredictable plot adds even more suspense when Tasha and Caleb are separated for several weeks. Will a brand new loving spark flicker out? I found the story fascinating, and the wildlife information was provided in an easy to understand way. This is a 5-star story with excellent character development.Barnaby, a wiggly French bulldog, was even involved in the story, which provided a light despite the dramatic nature of the human revelations.

What a sweet story – I loved Tasha and Caleb. Tasha is a nurse who loves birds but has a dark past and bad history with men. Caleb is a biologist and the new IFC at the wildlife refuge that Tasha often tours and is recently divorced. There are sparks from the beginning, when Tahsa meets Caleb on a Wednesday tour of the whooping cranes. I love the silly bird banter. I loved the setting and would love to visit just to hear the birds and watch them take flight. I loved the connection and love story. I loved how they shared thoughts and feelings, including all the dark things from the past. They were meant to find each other so they could help each other overcome the darkness. I also really liked the side story of Tahsa’s friends who are struggling to get pregnant. I can’t wait for more of this series to come out.

Tasha and the Biologist is the second book and another lovely tale in this heartfelt women’s fiction romance series A Better Man. Even though it is part of a series it could be read as a standalone.
Amy writes characters that are flawed, raw, realistic, and relatable. Tasha and Caleb were so easy to like and connect to. Neither are looking for love but they knew they had a connection from the very start, but both are still dealing with pain from their previous relationships and that may keep them apart.
Amy sets this slow burn romantic tale in a small town with a beautiful Wildlife Preserve which is easily imagined and the perfect place for bird enthusiasts and setting for falling in love.
There is vulnerability, courage, strength and beauty in this heartwarming tale.
Is love worth falling for no matter the timing? You will have to read this book to find out.

Tasha and the Biologist (A Better Man, Book 2) by Amy Q. Barker. I love this series and while this is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone. This is the story of Tasha who is a nurse and a bird enthusiast. Caleb is a biologist and also a bird enthusiast and recently divorced. He has told himself he will never marry again so when he meets Tasha and finds her to be totally his type and she even has the same interests as he does, he tries not to let feelings get involved. Tasha was having her own thoughts about Caleb, he’s very smart, loves birds just like she does so why in the world is he here with her. Tasha is sweet and caring and would love to find a good man but the time doesn’t seem to be the right time. As they begin to spend more and more time together they come to realize they can fight it all they want but they are inevitably going to be in a relationship. This is such a sweet love story and I love this author so much!

Tasha and the Biologist is the second book in A Better Man series by Amy Q. Barker. Having loved her previous books, I happily one-clicked a copy, and set off to explore the Granger Pond Wildlife Preserve with Tasha and Caleb.
Tasha and Caleb are perfect together- not realising at the beginning that they were exactly what the other needed to be ‘whole and help them heal the pain of the past. I loved the small town setting, and the wetlands/nature preserve aspect of the story= as well as all the ‘birding’/nature facts (about Whooping Cranes etc), the real life issues (which gave the story a realistic and believable feel), family, friendship, emotion, the slow-burn romance, taking a chance on love/finding love unexpectedly, the healing power of love, hope, and new beginnings.
It is another heart-warming women’s fiction story that had all the warmth and emotion I was expecting from one of Ms. Barker’s stories.
I am definitely looking forward to Book #3.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Amy Q. Barker!

Amy Barker absolutely knows how men are supposed to treat women, it was heartfelt, cozy, and enjoyable. The characters are wholesome and even after experiencing heartbreak they both found they were ready to love again after all. The character development was strong throughout Tasha and The Biologist and the story flowed naturally. I was a little worried I wouldn’t like it due to the birding aspect, but it definitely surprised me. I’m glad to have picked it up.

This is the second book I have read by this author and it was marvelously heartfelt! The characters are by far some of my most favorite that I’ve read this year. The strength of this story definitely lies in its character development. Tasha, a bird enthusiast and a nurse, finds herself drawn to Caleb, a biologist with a captivating knowledge of whooping cranes. She is deeply caring while he is charming and vulnerable. I was fully invested in both of these characters almost immediately as the author pulls at your heartstrings. The flow of the story is magnificent as everything unfolds naturally. If you are looking for a touching love story filled with charm and depth, this one should be your next purchase! It is sure to leave you with a renewed appreciate for the beautify of the natural world as well as the fragility of relationships. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us!

Tasha and the Biologist is a lovely romance about two characters who weren’t sure if they were ready to love someone again, but couldn’t deny their connection. I thought this was such a nice story and I easily found myself rooting for the characters to overcome their past and find a way to be together. I became invested in them and really wanting their HEA.
This author is one I found myself reading every now and again and, when I do, I always wonder why I haven’t read more. Her work is always enjoyable, with great characters and an interesting story. This book is exactly the same and is one I can say I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Oh my gosh I just cried my heart out
I’m actually surprised I got any reading done ! Maybe it was my state of mind or maybe it was because my heart just felt so for Griffin and Renee , perhaps it was a combination 🤷‍♀️ anyhoo it was a good read and a release for all my inner toil it would seem 😉🥰📚

Griffin opens a bar the hometown Renee grew up in and Renee grew up in an abusive home and again trauma plays a big role , and my heart aches for her and her mum and quite frankly I want to dish out to get dad what he’s been giving for years snd see how he likes it !? He’ll probably cower away like the coward he is 🤮

Before I get carried away let me focus again 🤣 you can sense the tension between Griffin and Renee from the very first moment their eyes nest and you can’t help but cheer them on . Griffin has a heart of gold and he just perseveres and I so appreciate that of him , he follows his heart and he’s gentle with Renee and he heals a part of that very hurt and his family are so welcome and exactly what Renee and get mum needed 🥰

Don’t get me wrong there was steam and these 2 do get up to mischief in the workplace 😉but they’re a perfect match and I’m grateful for every tear I shed over them 🥰

This is the first book in the A Better Man Series and I loved it. The characters were amazing. Bailey is a strong and independent single mom who is a VP at the company she works at. Fox is the CEO and a single dad. The connection that these two find and the way they navigate around the pitfalls their relationship could cause is perfect.

What a well written, relatable, fun to read, second chance at romance novel. This is a first in a series called The Better Man Series. Bailey is a Widow and Fox is divorced and they are both single parents. The character growth was strong with this one and the characters became much stronger by the end of the novel after everything they had to overcome. Such an adorable love story.

This was a good 5 star read. This was a great second chance romance. I really liked this story line with the single parents. Bailey lost her husband and focused on raising her daughters and her career. She ends up talking to Fox during a flight, where things change for the both of them. They have several things in common. Can they keep things professional? Will they both let their walls down and be happy again?
Overall I really liked these characters and their stories. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. All of the characters added a great element to the story. This second chance at love romance was just what I was looking for. Two single parents are brought together through work and hit it off. They of course run into obstacles as all single parents do when trying to have a relationship. Throw work and life in the mix and there is no telling what can happen. I really loved how the characters were very relatable. I like reading from both characters’ point of view. I think it really made for a better read. Bailey and Fox were my kind of characters. I absolutely adored this book. It really had me engaged from the start and I just had to keep reading to see what happened.

Bailey has worked at her job for years and when things start going south they get a new CEO and work life is now amazing.

Fox is the new CEO and has brought new life to the business and the staff.

I usually don’t care for time jumps but these were needed as we get what’s needed and then hop to now with small memories talked about in those missing years.
I really can’t find what I want to say without possibly saying something that would ruin a part of the story as it is best read as it’s written to get the feel for it all.
This author made me feel each and every single emotion our main characters were feeling. Happy, sad, anxious, embarrassed and everything you can name and that is what makes a story stick with me is how it made me feel. Will be reading more by this author for sure.

This was a great slow burn romance. The characters show great growth throughout this story. It’s in both views of the main characters which is always a favorite of mine. I just always feel it’s a more detailed storyline that way. It’s a great story about life after divorce and the loss of a spouse. It’s well written and paced nicely. The author did well with the build up in the relationship. There’s a sprinkling of steamy romance but the author truly made it about the relationship that was building. Five big stars and highly recommended.

Just an overall wonderful story…navigating two people whom were not looking for love but discover the spark between them. Bailey is raising two daughters on her own, being a widow and also a VP of Quality of a company. When a new CEO is introduced to the company…lots of curiosity circles knowing that Fox, the new CEO, is a father of two teenage boys raising them as well on his own. When a work trip includes both Bailey and Fox, this blossoms into wonderful conversations between them that leads to the pull of undeniable chemistry. As Fox and Bailey get to know each other more the feelings become more deep. Will both of the pasts keep holding them back their growing feelings for each other..and also raising their children and working for the same company?

I loved this story and the steps that both Bailey and Fox had to take to navigate work, family and love….and to find balance. It had me rooting for Bailey and Fox through the entire story…and both characters are truly relatable in everyday life. Looking forward to more from this author and series!

Bailey and the CEO: A Corporate Love Story (A Better Man Book 1)

I just finished the book and still trying to come up with the best way to describe my thoughts on everything.

I love Fox, he is truly a fantasy man. I don’t know if there are men who are that good all the way around and treat women with such amazing respect.

Bailey is someone I could relate to in a way, we are both the mother of two daughters and pretty independent. Being the mother of two daughters is no easy feat, though she made it look a lot easier than it is and she was doing it alone.

I think every woman deserves a Fox in their life and I’m glad there wasn’t the angst with the two of them like there is in so many books. It works for the twenty somethings but not the mature adults.

This is my introduction to Ms. Barker and I wasn’t disappointed. I’m looking forward to keeping up with this series and meet some amazing couples.

Bailey and the CEO: A Corporate Love Story (A Better Man Book 1)Bailey and the CEO: A Corporate Love Story by Amy Q. Barker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bailey and the CEO is a sweet second chance at love type romance. The author gives you two characters who are single parents for different reasons, making them easily relatable. With character growth displayed without. If it be in the present or in a flashback, you can see how they’ve matured, especially with what they’ve been through.
Bailey is a widow with two teenage girls in her life. She loves her daughters and her job. Yet at times she still feels like she’s coming up short. Though she lost her husband to a freak accident, she’s never moved forward with her life. Stayed out of the dating scene because it was easier. Until one morning flight to Detroit changed it all.
Fox is the CEO. He’s also a divorcee with two well rounded teenage boys. At the same time he also feels like he is falling short in the parenting category. Running a company doesn’t give one much time for a life outside of work, but it also allowed him to notice Bailey. However after everything he has been through he’s hesitant to break his walls down. Even though he feels something for Bailey he can’t explain or has ever felt before. Unfortunately she’s not some random girl but a VP is his company.
These two characters have so much going for them. But together it’s the fear that’s making itself known.
Will they get by?
Will they let their fears go and nosedive head first?
Unfortunately there are some obstacles along the way that could derail them, including their own children. The author has you rooting for them to work out. You get invested and want what’s best for them. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I look forward to others in the future.

Bailey and the CEO: A Corporate Love Story (A Better Man, Book 1) by Amy Q. Barker. This is the first in the A Better Man series and I can’t wait for the next one. Its a pretty clean, fun, second chance romance. Its the story of Fox who is the CEO of a company that Bailey works at. She is Vice President of her department and never lets anything come between her and her job except her 2 daughters. After her husband passed away she focused on nothing but work to get thru and she worked her way to the top. Fox has 2 sons and is also working his butt off to save this company but he has made it more than clear his boys are priority. When they meet on a plane ride they hit it off immediately and feel like they have known each other for years. Fox has always known that Bailey was beautiful but once he’s gotten to know her he’s smitten. This is such a pure, fun, love story that will keep you flipping pages until you are done!

This is the first book in The Better Man Series. This author has a way of writing stories that are beautifully written but also relatable. The characters are likeable and you can’t help but feel drawn into their story. It is a woman’s fiction story so it full of emotion which keeps you engaged in their story.
This is a story about finding love in a unlikely place and realising what is in front of you.
I loved Bailey’s character. She is so down the earth. She is a single mum to teenage girls so she has a lot on her plate already as well as a high powered position at work. Since her husband passed she has juggled it all by herself and in my eyes has done an amazing job.
However her marriage wasn’t all sunshine and roses as her husband came across as being a little cruel always putting her down and making her feel like she is failing all the time, so when he passes this is her opportunity to find herself again, to rediscover who she is and what she wants from life.
As she does that she catches the eye of Fox the CEO of the company she works for. Every women breathing is attracted to Fox and Bailey is no different but why would he look at her? There is nothing about her that’s special or attractive. But boy how wrong she is.
Fox feels an instant chemistry with Bailey and is amazed that she doesn’t know how stunning she is both inside and out. Fox will stop at nothing until she sees herself has he does.
This story is a really beautiful read. I feel a connection with Bailey as I’m a person who also doubts myself constantly and doesn’t see myself as anything special so I understand her confusion and apprehension when this stunning man who could have any women he wants chooses her. It is a sweet read and I can’t wait to read more in this series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

She’s a widow raising two teenage girls. He’s a divorcee raising two teenage boys. She works in HR and he’s the CEO. One day Fox walks by and calls Bailey by her name. She’s in shock because they’ve had so few interactions together. Then they end up on an airplane together and things start to change for them both. However, they are having to keep a secret, but at what costs?

The characters are relatable and “real”. They could be the people in any organization in today’s world. The story is believable. This author has a great way of weaving together a story that keeps you turning the page.
