A Bride for Noah (Brides of Broken Arrow #1)A Bride for Noah by Cheryl Wright
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Bride for Noah is such a sweet and wholesome love story! As stated in his fathers will, for Noah to keep/inherit his fathers land he must get married. Mary is trying to escape her home situation. She has been unloved, uncared for and underfed. Now, her father wants to get rid of her by marrying her off to a horrible man. She responds to Noah’s ad for a mail order bride and they set up a contract for one year. Although there is chemistry between the two of them, will it last through the contract? Will they stay together? Will this marriage of convenience work out for this sweet couple? I won’t spoil it, you’ll have to read it yourself. Trust me you will enjoy it! I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to read such a pure, sweet, and innocent romance story. Love it so much and can’t wait for the next one!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Noah expected to inherit the family land when his father died. Until he discovered that in order to do that, he has to get married and stay married for a while. With very few available women, it proves to be a struggle. Mary’s father is tired of taking care of her and wants her married. She has the choice of a not so nice man from the past, or a marriage of convenience with Noah. She chose Noah. When the two first get together, they notice all the differences between them and their backgrounds. Mary is sweet and innocent, and wants nothing more than to secure herself a future better than her past. Noah is a man’s man. He is used to living alone and is surprised in many ways by his new wife.

This was such a wholesome story of self discovery and learning to let someone in. The interactions between Noah and Mary are so sweet. I loved getting to know them and seeing them grow and develop in the story. I am looking forward to reading more stories in this collection.

*** 3 out of 5 stars
If losing his father suddenly wasn’t enough, Noah is now under a deadline according to the conditions of the will to find himself a bride. Not too far away, Mary is barely surviving each day and sees the offer of this “convenience marriage” to be her only way out of poverty. Will Noah and Mary find love in their contractual time together or walk away at the end of the year?

As the author herself promises, this is nothing but a feel-good short historical fiction story.

The overall story and theme were just as promised, with the character Noah and the depth of Mary’s life history being the main highlights. With that said, I didn’t feel I could rate the tale any higher due to some hiccups. For example, because there was so much depth to Mary, there seemed to be extraneous details that could have been further developed. Additionally, while time obviously seems to pass, each section broke up the story’s flow without a clear idea of just how much time it had been. Overall, I believe this short story would’ve been better drawn out but, understandably, that would have been a hard balance with the feel-good promise.

A Bride for Noah was an enjoyable and quick read. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical fiction and needs a quick read between longer novels.

This book has historical romance. It is wholesome. It is a very clean romance kind of book.

Noah Adams felt the vast tract of property given to him on his twenty-first birthday was legally his until his father died. Suddenly, he learns that the ‘gift’ comes with a condition. Noah must marry within four weeks to gain legal ownership of the property, or he will lose everything. He has limited options because there are no local ladies available. Mary Stanton is a poor woman who is barely living. Her father offers her to a lecherous guy whom she narrowly avoided in the past after determining he can no longer sustain his spinster daughter. When the opportunity to enter a proxy marriage is presented to Mary, she rushes at it. Is it possible for these two strangers to transform a convenient marriage into a love match? Or will Mary terminate the contract at the conclusion of the term?

I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

A Bride for Noah (Brides of Broken Arrow #1)A Bride for Noah by Cheryl Wright
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming historical romance novella and was hooked from start to finish. Noah Adams discovers that the large piece of land gifted to him by his father on his twenty first birthday, will only legally be his if he marries within four weeks. Noah has limited choices as there are no local women available. Meanwhile, impoverished spinster Mary Stanton is about to be promised to a lecherous man, whom she has escaped from in the past. Mary jumps at the chance to enter into a proxy marriage with Noah. The plan is for Mary to walk away at the end of the contract, but as the couple spend more time together there is hope that their marriage of convenience may turn into a love match. This is a sweet, clean romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It’s an enjoyable and engaging fairly quick read which is wonderfully written, and has likeable and relatable characters in Mary and Noah. The setting is brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in the storyline. I look forward to future books in this series.

This is a great read for a rainy afternoon!!

Noah was angry when he found out in order to receive his inheritance, he had to marry….and quickly!

Mary is upset that she can’t keep up her vegetable garden because her father keeps giving all the carrots to the pigs. Doesn’t he care for her more than that?

So, what are two desperate people to do who don’t even know each other? Get married, of course!

Will Mary stay past the contracted marriage date or will Noah ask her to leave before the year is even up?

This is a sweet story of a contractual marriage and how it all worked out. I didn’t realize this was a novella until it was over and I found myself wanting to know even more about the characters. I did enjoy this short read and would highly recommend it!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There are books where the story line is something you have already read about, but how it is presented makes a lot of difference. This is a historic romance, about the marriage of convenience, something which is often witnessed in historic dramas, but what makes this book interesting are the characters and the way the book is presented.

Noah is given a vast promise of land, but with one condition, he has to marry with in few weeks, otherwise he has to forfeit all his fortune. Mary is in neck deep trouble with her father who cares only about his pigs and is willing to give away his daughter to the first man knocking on the door. So, when a church suggests their alliance, both Mary and Noah readily agree to a marriage of convenience. Atleast Mary is with a mindset that she will annul the marriage once the contract period is over.
But when it comes to the heart, it is a completely different matter altogether. Will these two end their marriage and go their own ways , or their hearts have something to say? That is the plot of the story.

If you are looking for a nice smooth romance read in the season of love, this is a book to read. A refreshing romance with an endearing lead pair. I enjoyed it.

After the death of his father, Noah believes that the large piece of land will be legally his on his birthday. In order for that to happen he must marry within a month or lose the land.

Mary Stanton has no money and jumps at the chance of marriage if it means escape.

This becomes a marriage of convenience but will the two find love?

I usually don’t read historical romances much but the plot caught my attention. It was a heartwarming story and I was hoping that Mary and Noah could make it work.

I noticed there were a novels in this series and if this are just as heartwarming as this, I look forward to reading them.

Wow what is there not to like about this book?! This book is a good clean romance book that has a happily ever after ending. Poor Mary has lived her entire life in horrible conditions so much so that she almost collapses when she meets Noah as a part of an arranged marriage. Noah’s father died and changed his will making it where he would need to become married rather quickly or give up his share of the land. Throughout the time that Mary and Noah are getting to know one another they endure some struggles, but it makes them that much stronger. This book was a very quick read and is one that I will be rereading! I cannot wait to read about the other brothers in the next books in the series!

This is a new author to me and I so enjoyed this story of Noah and Mary. Both Noah and Mary were brought together over chance taken, especially for Noah or he could lose the land that was promised by his father upon his passing. When Mary is approached by a proxy marriage, she takes the chance and ends up at Broken Arrow Ranch. My heart just truly ached for Mary, the way she grew up and the pain she endured living with her father. I am so happy she jumped at the chance and hope for a better life in this story. Will Mary and Noah find that there is love for each other at then end of their “contract”.

This book just makes you feel good at the possibility of love, hope and a chance for something better. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

This is a quick read and the first book in a series. This is Mary and Noah’s story. Though short the story did not lack depth, detail or characterisation. It was full of emotion and all the feels. Mary’s life was heart wrenching and there was much healing needed. A clean, brilliantly written romance.

This is such a sweet story. Noah and Mary are brought together in an unconventional way. They are both looking to make a better life for themselves and it looks like the best way to get what they each need is together. It starts out as a business arrangement but feelings begin to develop and it isn’t long before they’re both wishing for more. They just seem to fit together and before long they’ve made a home together. The only question is if they can open up to each other and admit what they both want and feel. This is such a sweet story and shows that love can come in unexpected ways.

This is the first book I have read from this author and she now has a new fan. I’m starting to love historical romance so I thought I would give this book a chance. I’m so happy that I did because I fell in love with all of the characters. This is the first book of the Brides of Broken Arrow and I am now hooked. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story. I can’t wait to read book number two.

Noah’s dad leaves his land to his sons but there is a stipulation in order to keep it. They all have to find a bride and Noah is the oldest so he has to find a bride first. Noah has no idea how to even find a bride until one of his friends tells him about a beautiful girl named Mary. He tells his friend he will do it so he can get the land. Noah picks up Mary and you can see that she has had a hard life. He just wants to stay married for only one year which is what his dad said but will he become attached to Mary?

A great short story to read. It’s different from the other romance novels out there. Noah isn’t happy when he finds out about his father changing the condition of the will. He now needs a wife in order to keep the land that’s rightfully him. Mary is living with her dad who is a drunk and doesn’t care about her. He trades her to a bad guy to pay off a debt which is how Mary and Noah get together. The agree to a marriage of convenience. Noah gets his land and Mary gets away from her dad and the bad guy. Definitely worth reading it. Such a wonderful story.

I debated on reading A Bride for Noah for a couple days, before finally downloading it. I am glad I chose to read it, because I really enjoyed it. The summary of the story caught my attention, but the cover art made it seem like it would be really old fashioned. While the story did take place in an earlier time, it didn’t feel like an old western. I look forward to reading more in the series, as I assume they are going to be about Noah’s brothers. This book is the story of 2 young people forced into a marriage of convenience. Noah’s father passed away and made it a condition in his will that Noah must marry to keep his land. Mary is stuck between a rock and a hard place, and chooses to marry a complete stranger, rather than the man of her father’s choosing. I was very happy with the ending, because for a while, I didn’t know which direction the story would go. I don’t want to give anything away, but recommend this book. Its super short, but has a lot of content.

This was a really good short book. This author did a really good job at portraying a western story. Reading about Mary’s prior living conditions really pulled on your heartstring. You hope that it gets better for her and you just want to wrap her up in a warm blanket and tell her everything is going to be okay. In walks Noah, needing a bride to fully claim his land he meets Mary. Noah has a good head on his shoulders and a good heart. These two are absolutely wonderful for each other.
There are no lust scenes in this book and it doesn’t need it whatsoever. The romance itself is just so wholesome and amazing to read. You really don’t mind or care because it is written really well. I enjoyed reading this little novella and I want to read more from this author! well done!

Noah is looking for a bride to fulfill a clause in his father’s will. He has to marry her in 3 weeks in order to get the land he was gifted from his father earlier before he died. Mary’s basically starving on her father’s ranch. He promises her to a lecherous coot. A family friend of Noah’s tells her about his problem and how she can help fix it. Mary and Noah decide to take a chance and make a wedding contract. Can this develop into love? These two have a lot to work out and work on. They can do. This book was a delightful wholesome treat. The characters are relatable. You can see little parts of yourself in them. They are working on issues most people have. It’s a quick weekend read. The plot is smooth as silk. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series. I definitely recommend it.

Lately I’ve been reading books outside my normal genre and this one is definitely unusual for me. I’ve never given historical romance a chance but I’m really glad I did with this one. The storyline was classic, the characters wholesome (Noah? Awesome. Mary? Brave!), and their story was wonderfully told for a short book! It was a sweet romance and has influenced me to read a couple more. 💖 Even if this isn’t your usual style: the story is short enough that it is still worth a read! And if you enjoy it? A Bride For Noah is the first book in the Brides of Broken Arrow series by Cheryl Wright. This is my first read from Ms. Wright, so I was keen to see what she could do with a story. I am happy to say that I enjoyed this sweet historical romance and feel it has set the series off to a great start.
Noah is left reeling when he discovers that the land he thought he owned could be forfeited if he didn’t marry within the month. One big problem- the lack of available women in his area. He needs a ‘wife’ asap- what will he do?? The solution to his problems comes in the form of Mary Stanton, who just happens to need a solution to her pressing problems. An arrangement might be exactly what these two need to get out of their sticky situations. But what happens if feeling become involved? You really should read all the interesting details for yourself if you want to know what happens in this wholesome, cute story.
This is quite a heartwarming story. The characters are fully developed and endearing individuals- I couldn’t help but connect with them and their sweet story. I really liked Noah and Mary, and I especially felt for Mary and what she had been through.
Perfect for readers who prefer their romance with a ‘clean’ and wholesome plot.
A marriage of convenience and finding love unexpectedly…
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Cheryl Wright!

This story was so beautifully written. The characters really made it come to life. I loved how the characters and how connectible they were, I found it was a story that made your heart tender and happy. I smiled a lot as I read trough, and really enjoyed everything I was able to take in.

Mary and Noah were two of a kind, literally. Both different and both so very much alike. I loved reading about them, and watching them basically fall in love. The things they took pride in really shad a shine to them who they were! I loved the simplicity of story and the romance between these two. It was captivating and sweet both at the same time. I loved the way the author created such a sweet story, it was a wonderful read, and I will for sure be looking into more books by this author!

Wonderful, sweet, and beautiful read. It was a quick read for me, but the feelings were very real as well. I was very much entranced by this book and constantly wondered how it would all play out. I was very happy when I concluded it. High recommendation from me for the author and the wonderful book!
