While this is the third installment of this series it can be read as a standalone.
I really liked this book as it kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the book.
This one sat a little different for me than the previous books and I can’t put my finger on why.
If you love action, second chances and suspense then this book is for you!

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to admit when I started reading the Gray Ghost Novel set, I knew I was going to just love it. Amy McKinley has an amazing gift to write mystery, suspense, and romance all roll up into one. When I am reading her story, I do not feel like the focus is romance. In this story we learn about Hannah and Jack. These characters feel like good friends. Hannah is a strong character, but she has a past that she has kept secret. Jack is a member of the Gray Ghost team which is a Navy Seal team. Hannah is traveling with a secret weapon that was hijacked and Jack was deployed to recover the weapon. There is a mystery involving this weapon. Will Jack be able to complete his mission or will he have heartache over the truth of what is going on? Will Hannah open up to Jack and tell him the secrets of her past? This is one story you will have to read to find out what is going to happen to Jack, Hannah, and the secret weapon.

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley is a five-star read that you will get deep into. This is the third novel in the Gray Ghost series, and I have read the series and I have read them all in order and would say that is the best way to read it as you get the whole drama and the world. Hannah Miller is a character that will stay with you, her story is sublime, she has a strength that will astound you, and a softer side that will chill you. This story is so much more than you imagine, there is romance and drama and also some crazy ideas that will throw you about, spies and stolen ideas and twists galore will keep you hooked, add in some back and forth in time and this could get confusing but some how the author manages to keep it all together. This was by my account the best novel of the series, it just had an extra something that I enjoyed.

Beneath the Surface ( A Gray Ghost Novel Book 3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Heather Bass

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read a couple of books from this talented author and she keeps blowing me away. This is the third book of the Gray Ghost series. I absolutely love military romance but this author exceeds my expectations. This book can be read as a stand alone but there are prior characters in this story as well. I was so excited for this book. When it came out I dropped everything and started to read it. I was hooked on the very first page. It only took me a few hours to devour this book.

Hannah Miller didn’t have your normal childhood. She lost her parents at a very young age. Hannah and her older sister was put into a school that taught them how to become spies. Now Hannah is a trained sleeper agent. She is on a plane with a secret weapon and then all of a sudden her life changes. Hannah is captured in a hijacking. She is shocked when her ex comes to the rescue with his crew. Jack is just as handsome as ever. Hannah still has feelings for him but she has secrets that could bring a lot of trouble. Hannah has no other choice but to team up with Jack. They need to find this weapon before it gets into the wrong hands. Will Hannah and Jack find what they are looking for or will they find danger instead?

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, suspense, and mystery. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Hannah had a very hard life. She is all business but not with Jack. Jack loves his job. His team is his family and he will do anything for them. Jack still has feelings for Hannah but he doesn’t want to get hurt again. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will make keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to see what she will have for us next.

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface (A Gray Ghost Novel Book 3) by Amy McKinley is another great book in this series that I have grown to love. Watching the boys turn into men has made me feel protective of them but they have done me proud. Amy has done a great job of writing these wonderful characters and her writing style is captivating and gripping. I love the way she weaves the intrigue and drama, mystery and suspense throughout the book to make it one book you are unable to put down.

Hannah is not what she seems, not even close. She is such a complex character that has been through more than anyone person should ever have to endure. The pain the heartache and the lies all come to a head that you don’t see coming. But the one thing she can count on fights for her and to stay in her life.

Jack finds himself preparing for a mission and when he hears who is involved nothing but nothing will keep him away. Along the way he finds everything he thought he knew was nothing like the reality he is forced to encounter.

I really look forward to reading more in this series. I love it.

OMG I love these books and this author…It was also fun with this book running along side Eye of The Storm, I’ve not read many books that have done this and it was kind of fun…well fun in that they are at the same time but not so fun in the storyline. WOW…this one was awesome…I love all of them and can not pick a favorite but this one knocked my socks off…I was so looking forward to more about Hannah after reading Eye of The Storm and I absolutely got what I wanted in this book. I usually do not like flashbacks but the way this author handled them in this story first off made them mandatory and the way it was handled flowed perfectly.

I love how these books take the twists and turns to a new level and there is always a lot of them…I love this, and I Loved the way this storyline played out. Jack standing by refusing to leave Hannah behind even when all the evidence pointed straight at her as being guilty.

Not going into any more of the storyline, I just know that my heart broke many times as stories came out about Hannah’s past and I had so much respect for Jack in this story.

Im praying there is a lot more to come for the Gray Ghost team and I also know that I’ll be rereading this series many times 🙂

Loved It!!

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Let me just start by saying please go back and start with book one, Broken Circle, before you start right on into this book. For one, these are great books and you are missing out if you haven’t had a chance to devour the complete storyline, and two you will be able to truly enjoy the characters and what they are all doing much better. It is said they can be read as standalones but personally for me I wouldn’t recommend it. In this one we get the story of Hannah and Jack. Hannah is on a simple enough task to get a special weapon to its destination. Everything simple about it is thrown out the window when the plane that is carrying her and the weapon is shot down. Now she is tasked to not only save the day but doing so while dealing with her annoying ex, Jack. Things get well, complicated… making for some great reading and a whirlwind of emotions while doing so. I personally was most disappointed when it ended. I can’t wait to find out what will come next in the Gray Ghost series.

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath The Surface by Amy McKinley is book three in The Gray Ghost Novels. This is Hannah and Jack’s story. If you read the previous stories you will have no issues following the storyline honestly even if you haven’t it is an easy story to follow however pieces of information and other stuff is shared between previous stories and parts from them make more sense. It was pretty smart how Amy McKinley casually snuck in random thoughts and acts from previous stories and gave the explanation in Beneath The Surface. While I liked all the stories I think this one may have been my favorite. Hannah is a strong character and even though she starts out for all the wrong reasons she turns her life around and gets the chance with Jack she deserves.

Beneath the Surface (A Gray Ghost Novel Book3 ) by Amy McKinley is the third book in the A Gray Ghost series and is a book that has a little bit of everything from mystery to suspense and romance. I do suggest that if you haven’t read the first two books in this series that you do but its not necessary. I have truly enjoyed this series and this one is I must say my favorite so far. This is Hannah and Jack’s story and about second chances and learning to trust. These two are both strong independent people. But what happens when Hannah is accused of being a traitor? Can Jack risk it all to save her? At some points I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next. Can Hannah trust Jack? Find out what happens next. I highly recommend this book.i look forward to reading more from this Author.

I highly suggest reading the entire series to help you get the feeling of this series but not necessary. We get to read about Hannah and Jack’s story. Their story is one of learning to trust and second chances. They are strong and independent. What will happen when Hannah is accused of being a traitor and will Jack be willing to risk it all to save her? This is where the action kicks in, choices are made which made it hard to put this book down at this point. I highly recommend this book.

5 out of 5 stars

The story Beneath the Surface (A Gray Ghost Novel Book 3) by Amy McKinley is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It has romance, mystery, and suspense. The story had me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. The action, adventure, and danger had me on the edge of my seat and I had to remind myself to breathe. The book had me hooked from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Hannah Miller and Jack Davis. Hannah is independent, strong, beautiful, and a survivor. She is a woman with a secret. She also has found herself on a private plane that has been hijacked. Jack is a man who not only is part of the Gray Ghost team but also one who is devoted to helping out those who are lost and alone. He has had and still has feelings for Hannah. Jack is sent to recover a secret weapon, however, he finds himself unable to stop himself from finding Hannah as well. The same sparks that he felt for her reignite. Complications arise when evidence shows that Hannah may be a traitor. He is putting everything on the line for her. Is his trust in Hannah misplaced? Will Hannah fully trust Jack? Is there a future for Jack and Hannah? Read this book to find out. This is a thrilling story that does not disappoint. I could feel the passion/connection that Jack and Hannah have. They are both characters that I grew to care about and wanted everything to work out for them. There are other additional characters in the story and I liked that the other members of the Gray Ghost team make an appearance and have their part to play in the story. This is a book that will keep you on your toes and guessing until the very end.

Another amazing action packed romance from this author. I could not put this book down. I loved Mari’s spitfire character. I also loved Chris’ character and the romance between him and Mari. Liv’s world is turned upside down when she discovers that her dream has been a lie. Her husband is involved with a terrible drug cartel and its family. She knew there was a reason for not ever meeting them. With her life possibly at stake she makes a run for it after she becomes stuck in Colombia with her husband. She has to get away from all the death and blood. In her escape she is aided by several people but those who are caught are killed. Can she get out of the country and stay hidden?

This was an exciting and gripping story that I could not put down. Readers will love Liv and will be pulled into her story. My heart ached for the loss she experienced in this novel. I loved that she stayed strong though.

This is just the beginning. A little suspenseful and protecting your family, blood or not.

Jack is the oldest of this gang. Can’t really call them a gang though. As they are more homeless teens then a gang. A place to hang out and be safe. While Jack has graduated from high school, he feels responsible for the other students. His goal is to keep them safe from the drugs, abusive family members and the local gang. Amongst the guys is Jack’s girlfriend Jenni. Problem is she is the sister of the rival gangs leader Rex.

Amy McKinley is just getting started with this short prequel. She has set the stage and her story is a go. What a beginning it is too. This book caught my attention on page one. I hated that it ended so soon. The story is a nail biter, and I was on the edge throughout the book. I am looking forward to reading more from Amy McKinley. Let’s get this story started! As I need so much more of Jack and his family.

Moments that Define Us by Amy McKinley takes us back to why and where it all began and what shaped these boys into men. I enjoy reading Amy’s books they are so descriptive and full of danger and action. We have a group of boys trying to find family and stay alive without getting caught up in anything illegal. With enemies on the warpath it’s only a matter of time before things turn against them. It is a short read but one that packs a punch giving us an insight to the life they endured before and defined them.

Eye of the Storm (Gray Ghost #2)Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinley is the second book in the Gary Ghost Novel series, and let me tell you, this book was amazing! Reading the Blurb, I knew this book would be romance, and thrilling all in one and that drew me in before I even started reading. Then once I read, I was able to get lost a little more into the world of Chris and Mari. Chris and Mari both stumble on each other in the Jungle. Mari, lost but strong needs help and Chris lost and having no memory yet knows his way around to keep them safe. Being that they both NEED to trust each other, they embark in an adventure. Mari and Chris grow closer despite the enemies on their trail, I found myself nervous. When they grew closer, my heart was happy. I love books that can grab my emotions and this one sure did! I give this books 5 stars and know many will enjoy it like I did!

Broken Circle, A Gray Ghost Novel Book, one by Amy McKinley was a good read that I was able to sit down and get right into reading and not wanting to put it down. Olivia, wanting to get away from her family and the games of politics marries a dedicated and new detective, Alex. Thinking that the life she has built with Alex will be simple, she is shocked when his career turns from Police work to Politics.
This story gave me, action, romance, danger and the suspense to want me to keep reading. There are so many questions and secrets that come out in this book, but again it’s another element that keeps you wanting more and more of Olivia and Alex. I highly recommend this book and this author, I can’t wait to read book two and more from this author. The attention to detail, the strong characters, and storyline made this book a 5 star read!
