Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lake) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Alexandra Leith

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely to Fit is a second chance at love romance. This is a standalone book in the Parker Lake series.

Breckin is a strong and independent women who had her heart broken by her husband. When she moved back to her hometown she expected to have the perfect life. However, that was not the case. Her husband left her for a newly graduated cheerleader and she was left with the wreckage he caused. One drunken girls night puts Breckin on a path she didn’t see coming and his name is Griff. Breckin starts to have feelings for Griff but she keeps second guessing herself and isn’t sure if she can put herself out there again.

Griff moved back to Parker when his childhood sweetheart died unexpectedly. Griff is a catch. He is handsome, tattooed and kind to everyone. He is the kind of man who takes his Meemaw grocery shopping and plans her 90th birthday. However, he has not truly joined the living since his love passed. Things start to change when he keeps running into beautiful Breckin. He feels attracted to her but is he willing to move on from his first love?

This second chance at love book is sweet and funny. Griff’s meemaw is hilarious. I love all of the characters in this book, but Meemaw is my favorite. She is like most of the women in this book. Fierce, intelligent and independent, but she has so much hilarious fire in her. I absolutley love how this book describes small towns to a T. Between news traveling faster than a cheetah and old time regulars who do not like any change. Parker is a town filled with loyal, caring and protective characters. It just makes me want to live there! I can’t wait to visit Parker again in book 3.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You will fall in love with love during this book. It has everything that any romance reader could ever dream of. It contains suspense, character development, tragic life struggles, loves being brought back together due to unforeseen circumstances, and an amazing group of friends. The author keeps you on the edge of your seat by building the suspense about what happened and where things are going to go. The character development seems genuine and is completely relatable. You can feel the burn that the main characters have for each other, their love makes even the most skeptic people believe in love.

Cadence Defined Audiobook by Dakota Willink – Review by Char Wahtomy-Alba

After 17 long years Cadence and Fitz get their second chance, but it is not without obstacles. Cadence has a big secret to tell Fitz and it is so huge that it could make or break their relationship. Losing Fitz was devastating enough the first time…if she loses him again who knows if she will be able to survive that heartache. Fitz just wants to finally have the woman he loves by his side while quietly and happily living his life. His father though has different plans for him and they do not include Cadence.

This book was just as enjoyable as the first. After listening to this book I felt it would have been OK on its own, but I’m glad the author made it a series. The narrators once again did a good job of bringing this story and these characters to life.

Awakening Avery (A Second Chance Romance #3) by Laurie L.C. Lewis – Review by Jenni Bishop

Awakening Avery (A Second Chance Romance #3)Awakening Avery by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Awakening Avery (A Second Chance Romance Book 3) Laurie Lewis is a beautiful second chance story. The story is one of healing and finding yourself after the death of your other half after being with them for many many years. This heartfelt and thought provoking story is moving and evoked many emotions as we travelled along with our main character as she struggles with her grief and subsequent depression and inability to move forward. Along her path of rediscovery and healing she meets many characters who are grieving and like her many are struggling to find that sense of purpose in their life. I must admit it took me a while to get into the story but once I did I became invested in each and everyone of the characters.

I look forward to reading other things from this author
