DOCTOR DS ORDERLY AFFAIR (DOCTORS OF EASTPORT GENERAL) BY C.A. KING REVIEWED BY CARLIE DEL GALLO

Doctor D's Orderly AffairDoctor D’s Orderly Affair by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a book that follows medical staff of EastPort General. I was entranced and read this book in one sitting. The characters in this novel, Dr. D and Emily, were wonderfully written and amazingly relatable. Emily has heard the rumors of Dr. D and that he rocks women’s world for one night and never shows anymore interest. All of this changes one night when Emily throws up on him. Their story from then on changes and grows. I am absolutely in love with this novel and cannot wait to read the other novels in the series!! If you love reading romance novels that encompass the medical staff this is the story for you!

The Cross of Ciaran by Andrea Matthews – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

The Cross of CiaranThe Cross of Ciaran by Andrea Matthews
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

For me this book started off a little slow, however the further I read the more interested I became. The author, Andrea Matthews’, use of a historical and archeological foundation really made this story pop for me. The tale is a paranormal, time travel, romance with some great characters and one main character, Caitlin, who is very unlikable. I do feel like there is more to her than we are getting, but that remains to be seen in book two. This novel is filled with quest-like adventures, history, mystical happenings and a little strange romance thrown in.
I had some difficulty initially keeping up with the story, because it time travels in the memories of Ciarán back to the 5th century and then back to the present day. Nevertheless, this back and forth developed an epic background that is building this narrative for great things in the future.
During an archeological dig in Ireland, Caitlin finds a pristine human specimen, an ancient pagan priest who unbeknownst to Caitlin was entombed alive. Magic and mystery weave there way throughout the story and once back in the states, the pristine specimen goes missing. He finds his way to the only sacred ground he knows, a church. Where we meet Father Mike and my favorite character!! Again we find things mystical and enchanting weaved into this tale as the truth begins to unravel. We won’t know the all of it until book two. If you are going to read this book make sure you have book two or you will be so upset!

Entwined (Stone and Cinder Book 1) by A.L. Morrow – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Entwined: A Cinderella Retelling (Stone and Cinder Book 1)Entwined: A Cinderella Retelling by A.L. Morrow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Grimm Brothers would be proud. This is not a retelling of Cinderella in the traditional HEA genre. I love that the Prince truly is charming and while his name is Callum it could’ve been Charming and no one would have batted an eye. Author A.L. Marrow really knows how to drag you by the hair into a story! I love stories like that. I was so engrossed I almost missed my stop.

Back to what I was saying about the Grimm Brothers being proud of A.L. Marrow. If you have ever read a Grimm Brothers fairy tale you know how gruesome they can be. This story reminds me of that when it introduces the trom-laighe.

Every character was well flushed out and gave you a sense of “knowing” them you don’t often get in books. Ashling is charismatic, witty, strong and beautiful. Even in the face of danger from her “family” and from the trom -laighe she rises to the challenge. Since reading her father’s journal she knows how to defeat these evil creatures when no one else does. The author doesn’t focus so much on the Step Mother/Step Sister aspect that is usually emphasized and instead centers the readers attention on the enchantment and the perplexing labyrinth of mysteries surrounding Glenblath.

*One thing I will note is that this book is not intended for children and has some very erotic M/M scenes.

Reckless: A Steamy Contemporary Romance Anthology by Mika Jolie, Kylie Stewart, P.M. Carson and Sharla Lovelace – Review by Katie Matthews

Reckless - An AnthologyReckless – An Anthology by Mika Jolie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love, love, LOVED this anthology; all four novellas were fantastic reads. I already adore one of the authors featured in this collection so I was super excited to read something new form her but the other three were new to me so I was looking forward to reading their work too. I think it’s safe to say I have found another three new authors to love and I definitely want to read more of their stories.
Layla’s Chance by Mika Jolie was such a wonderful read and a great story to kick of this anthology. I loved Layla and Chance – oh my gosh he was so hot!!! As always this author completely captivated me by her amazing writing and characters. I forgot that I was reading a novella at times because of how full the story was, I actually didn’t want it to end I was so wrapped up in Layla and Chance’s story!
Dirty Martinis by P.M. Carson was another great read. I loved reading Rachel and Drew’s story and with a lot of people meeting via online dating now I thought that this was a story that felt real to life and I could imagine the story unfolding the way it did in real life.
Into the Deep by Kylie Stewart was a fun read and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. There were some really good and unexpected twists and turns that constantly had me guessing what was going to happen. I loved Grayson and Gemma and together I really did think that they made the perfect couple!
The Spy Who Kissed Me by Sharla Lovelace was a really great read. I loved that although similar in character to the main in Layla’s Chance it was completely different. I loved the humour in this story and it certainly made me laugh a few times.
Overall a fantastic 5 star anthology that I would highly recommend!

Reckless: A Rock star/Older Woman/Younger Man/Billionaire/Second Chance/Fling to Forever/Suspense/Romance AnthologyReckless: A Rock star/Older Woman/Younger Man/Billionaire/Second Chance/Fling to Forever/Suspense/Romance Anthology by Mika Jolie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4 stand-alone stories.
4 authors I’d never previously read.
Taking a risk? Yes.
A risk worth taking? Yes
Reckless is an anthology of 4 novellas all about taking a risk and acting a bit reckless in life. All 4 are very different stories and I loved them all. A brilliant introduction to 4 brand new authors.
Layla’s Chance by Mika Jolie tells us the story of Layla who is disillusioned with life and heads to Martha’s Vineyard to spend her 40th birthday alone. There she meets the much younger Chance, famous rock star and they instantly hit it off. In this story we go through Layla’s journey as she fights with herself over to do what’s sensible and what her heart wants.
Dirty Martinis by P. M. Carson tells us the story of Drew and Rachel who had been carrying out a torrid online love affair and finally meet in person. Will sparks fly in real life as they had online?
Into The Deep by Kylie Stewart tells us the story of Gemma and Grayson. When Gemma moves back home after a failed marriage she meets Grayson (who she had a crush on back in school) when she views his house. This story has the added bonus of some light BDSM.
The Spy Who Kissed Me by Sharla Lovelace is a romantic suspense story. Ava is a lawyer working for a crooked boss, Dominic is an ex spy who is trying to bring him down. This brings them together with explosive results.

Reckless: A Steamy Contemporary Romance Anthology – Review by Sara Oxton

Reckless - An AnthologyReckless – An Anthology by Mika Jolie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reckless: Anthology four- amazing five-star reads. I have read two of the authors before and adored reading them again, it made me want to pick them back up and go back though their novels again, the other two I enjoyed but not quite as much. I know that in these story’s you will find at least one that will be worth the price of the anthology for you, probably more if I’m honest. For me the stand out story was Mika Jolie Layla’s Chance, it could be as I’m a sucker for a music story line, or it could just be the writing.

Reckless: A Steamy Contemporary Romance Anthology by Mika Jolie Kylie Stewart P.M. Carson Sharla Lovelace-Reveiw by Tausha Treadway

Reckless - An AnthologyReckless – An Anthology by Mika Jolie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reckless: A Steamy Contemporary Romance Anthology by Mika Jolie , Kylie Stewart, P.M. Carson, Sharla Lovelace. This is an amazing set of stories. My absolute favorite was Mika Jolie’s Layla’s Chance. Its about Layla a high powered attorney who always followed the straight and narrow. On her 40th birthday she is passed over for a promotion that she was sure to get. Fed up with the everything she takes off to Martha’s Vineyard for the weekend and meets a guy named Chance. They have automatic chemistry and she lets loose for the weekend. Will she risk her career and steady life to follow Chance for a relationship. These are such fun stories about being reckless for once in their lives and learning that sometimes breaking the rules is fun!
