Aberration (Aberration Series Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie & Rebecca E. McEwen – Review by Liz Vrchota

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was a fan of Valkyrie’s first novel so when I saw this one and that Rebecca McEwen had teamed up with her to pen this newest fantasy novel I just knew it was a must read for myself. I love the dark undertones that keep me feeling like I am reading a suspense novel as well as a fantasy. That is an undertone that made me love the first book she put out and this was ever present in this one as well so I was happy. I love the characters and how strong and they each stand out, you can almost feel as if they are real people that you could search out. The main character, Anyanka was fun and fierce I look forward to reading more of her story in the coming novels and I will totally be there for it. I can’t wait to see where this fast paced adventure will go next!

This is the first time I’ve read a book by either authors. This is a book about a teenage girl who discovers she is different and can’t be caught by anyone. Anya’s story has a lot of action, twists and turns and events that keep you turning the page. It was the only story like this I’ve ever read. Meaning in this genre, it stands out. I’m curious to see where the next installment of this story takes us and how they’re going to keep up with the same level as the first book. I’m excited to find out. It’s a good read, and short enough to finish in a day for an avid reader.

I really wish I could give this ten times more stars. I simply devoured this book in one sitting, I literally couldn’t function until I finished. I had to know what was going to happen next. I’ve read other books by Valkyrie and I must say this one is my favorite so far. I can’t really explain it to where it makes sense but my emotions were all over the place. Anyanka’s life changed when she found out she was an aberration. When new secrets and betrayal comes out what will happen next? What happens when new information is found out? Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from both these authors.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This novel by Naomi Valkyrie and Rebecca E. McEwen was very good. I enjoy shifter novels and this one grabbed my interest because it was different from normal shifter novels in a way that was unique. The story is about Anyanka and her friends, shifters with a bit of a twist. The story follows them as they explore how they came about and what their existence means for the future and humanity in general. Aberration included some mystery and suspense making it a really good read. This novel by Naomi Valkyrie and Rebecca E. McEwen ended with a cliffhanger which was interesting. I look forward to continuing the journey with Anyanka and her friends as they continue to unravel the mystery surrounding their kind and what the future will hold for them.

5-Stars

Aberration (Aberration Series Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie & Rebecca E. McEwen was an exciting read. I literally could not stop reading. There is a bit of fantasy, paranormal, romance, and mystery. I loved the creativity behind the characters and the storyline itself. The villain was a shocker to me! I could feel the emotions of the characters after the discovery. I loved the animals and how connected they all were to their other half. It was amazing. I can’t wait to see what comes next for this series especially after that cliff hanger. I highly recommend this book!

This is not my first book by Naomi Valkyrie and Rebecca McEwen and it will not be my last. This story is a unique story and it is very intriguing. The character development makes this story soar. I felt a connection with Anyanka Truman. She is a fiery woman who knows what she needs to survive. Her world was turned upside down when she finds out that she is an aberration. She is protecting herself from the outside world but her secret gets out. There are many twists and turns in this story. Will Ananka be able to get through everything that is going on? 5 ++++++ Stars

I don’t know if I can explain why I loved this book so much. Maybe it was the unique storyline, and maybe it was the way the words flowed and I didnt want it to end, and it might have also been that there was none of the added fluff you get with some stories and every word mattered, and it also could have been because I don’t read these types of books normally but these authors had me hook line and sinker from the first page.

There was quite a bit going on throughout and there were a lot of moving parts in this book, which I also loved. I was so glad we got different POV’s throughout, I only wish there had been just one more. Would have loved knowing what was going through that mind.

I never even guessed where this book was going. I was actually on a whole different path until that path got completely blocked and these authors proved why they are the writers and I’m just a reader. I loved all of the characters and how they each had their little quirks, and I can not wait for more. That ending had me hitting my kindle saying “turn the page dang it”…I then spent about 15 minutes trying to find info on the next one, because I NEED IT NOW!!

This was just an all around awesome read. I read it in one sitting and may even read it again before the next one comes out!!

I must also mention how beautiful the cover is!!

Grab this today..It’s an incredible story!

Aberration (Aberration Book 1)Aberration by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Aberration by Naomi Valkyrie & Rebecca E. McEwen, 5 stars.

This book was amazing!!! What these characters are is something completely new to me, which is rare and exciting in the supernatural book world. At the same time, it has the feel of being based on old world legends/beliefs. I really like how the authors took this and modernized it, making it feel of both worlds at the same time. The characters themselves are great too. They feel real, with real problems. I cannot wait to see how each of the characters evolves as the series goes on.

This is a great book to introduce us to a new world and series and I eagerly await the next book, plus hope there will be many to come! The characters are teenagers, but it is also a wonderful read for adults too — it does not alienate the adults like some teenage books tend to do. I highly recommend this book for all ages young adult and higher.

Aberration is the first book in the Aberration series by Naomi Valkyrie and Rebecca E. McEwen. It’s a mix of fantasy, paranormal, drama, action, danger, romance, and emotion.
The story is told from multiple POV’s which really gave me a great perspective of everything that was happening. The story is fast paced and easy to read. There is a lot going on, but the authors have choreographed everything into a smooth, quick, and easy read. It definitely kept me engaged the whole way through.
Looking forward to seeing what book two has in store for us.

Thank you, Naomi Valkyrie and Rebecca E. McEwen!

We follow the life of a young, seventeen year old abnormal teen. About two years ago, her life changed as she knew it. Intentionally, she hid herself away from the world to prevent herself from being used as a lab rat or for those who dislike her differences. She rules the island where she embraces her loneliness. When new details emerge about her condition she feels treacherous. Her tranquility is broken. Unavoidable conditions force her to trust foreigners. Even if it means ending it all.
This book was action-packed, full of entertainment, wonderful characters and an unpredictable ending. Great read!

Aberration: Book One by Naomi Valkyrie and Rebeccae McEwen, is a fast paced, simply written story. They set up a believable world with nicely built characters. It has a good plot and its left a little open ended for more. I see a series coming on. Even a little romance going on in this story that some might feel uncomfortable with.

I loved this book. This is an awesome story about Anyaka who just finds out that she is an aberration. As her life brings more changes will she adjust to being who she is? What will happen when secrets and betrayal are brought to light? This is a story that pulled me in right from the beginning. She makes this story fast paced and engaging. I highly recommend this book.

Having previously read a book by Naomi Valkyrie I knew no matter that she was a go-to author and I would read anything she wrote, having Rebecca E. McEwen join in with that writing made this read stand out even more! This is a brilliant captivating fantasy read that’s fast-paced full of mentally visual content the entire read and difficult to put down, its full of action, adventure and has an amazing storyline and brilliant characters who’s journey I thoroughly enjoyed following! Not only did the synopsis pull me in but I was intrigued by the cover of the read that could tell a story of its own! Both of these authors writing flowed effortlessly and seamlessly and I was disappointed it had ended! I can’t wait to see what else comes from these two authors whether individually or together, either way, I will eagerly be awaiting more!

5 out of 5 stars

The story Aberration (Aberration Series Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie & Rebecca E. McEwen is an exciting, entertaining, and wonderful book to read. The story grabbed my interest from the beginning and didn’t let go until the final page. I loved reading about the character of Anyanka Truman. Her life changed when she found out she is an aberration. It changes, even more, when secrets, new information, and betrayal comes to light. What will happen next? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me turning pages. It is fast-paced, and it seems that something is happening all the time. There are times when emotions run high and there is danger. Many other characters interact with Anyanka and I enjoyed reading about them. Anyanka is a character that is smart and independent. She is someone that the others learn to trust. I found myself quickly running out of chapters to read and when I got to the end, I couldn’t help but wish for more. The story is interesting, intriguing, and fun to read. I would highly recommend it.

It isn’t natural for a seventeen-year-old girl to be without a social life, but there isn’t much natural about me anymore.

I, Anyanka Truman, am an aberration.

Two years ago, my life changed forever. Self-imposed exile seemed to be the only way to keep me safe from people who would use me as a lab rat, and from those who would hate my differences. Solitude became my new normal, the island my domain.

When new information connected to my condition is discovered, the ultimate betrayal is brought to light. Any peace I’d finally gained is shattered. Inevitable circumstances force me to trust outsiders, and I make the only decision I can…

We. End. This.
