This was such a great book! I couldn’t put it down. Kella and Huck were so relatable. I felt like we were lifelong friends. I loved all the sarcasm throughout the book, a few times I laughed out loud. I really enjoyed all the details that made me feel like I was there with them and seeing everything. The underlying message of you are stronger than you believe is something important for everyone to learn and understand. I definitely recommend this book! You won’t be disappointed!

The Ocean’s Light (Blood of the Pirate Book 1) by Mina Chara is an adventurous pirate fantasy spun artfully around the main character Evie Waters. Evie is a 19 year old orphaned-as-an-infant young woman who despite her shortcoming makes up for it in her charismatic determination and intelligence. The diverse supporting cast of secondary characters bring her quest to find her parents on the high seas to life. The author truly gave these characters depth and life that does wonders in keeping the plotline moving in a captivating way. While the book’s target audience is YA it is also befitting for readers in the New Adult and Adult age groups who enjoy a delightful adventure that will truly suck you into the tale.
Another aspect to enjoy about this story is that you have a vast water encompassed world explored through Evie’s quest. Different nooks and crannies of the ports and islands that Evie finds herself are presented in a way that you can imagine the settings vividly without losing the story’s pace. The imagery of the different ships, bustling markets, divey bars, and (starkly different) posh palace interiors give the fantasy world a sense of wondrous tangibility.
The action is balanced with humor and tender moments throughout the book. Though Evie was raised an orphan she is able to find a home for herself and more on the seas with her newfound companions. The ending to this first book is well written and seems to close Evie’s initial adventures. As a reader I can’t wait to dive into the second book.

I have read a few books from this author and I am now a huge fan. This has turned into one of my favorite series of this year. I absolutely love a good young adult fantasy but this author exceeded my expectations. This is the third book from the Hero High series. You do have to read these books in order or you will be lost in knowing what’s going on. I was excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I was addicted to these characters I read this book all the way through.
Friday is now part of the gold team but everything else is falling apart. She still feels like she is being watched and her friendship with Jake is breaking. Friday is now popular and even the film crew is helping her out. She doesn’t want to let Captain Fantastic down either. Friday is getting closer to figuring out who the new Dr. Dangerous is but when she finds out will it crush her dreams? Will Friday fight for what she believes in or will she have to give in?

Bargaining (Hero High Book 3) by Mina Chara. Another great addition to a great series. I strongly recommend you reading them in order. Once again we taken on a journey Friday and a whole great cast of characters. Each one of these has gotten even better and this one definitely stuck to that. I love how unique and original this set is. Each character brings something different to the storyline and I enjoy them each for different reasons. It’s on the smaller side but that doesn’t hinder the punch it has. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Four big stars and highly recommended!

Cult (Feisty Lawyers Book 3) by Seelie Kay was an actioned packed thrill ride that had me hooked from start to finish.
Book three in this heart pounding series, we are again taken on a dangerous action filled, mysterious adventure. Picking up where the last book left off, it isn’t long before the plot gets under way, and we get to meet some new characters. I will say that these books follow a continuous timeline, and have a connecting multilayer plot line, so I highly suggest reading the first two books, as it will help with this one, not only that, you won’t get the full effect of these characters and the danger.
Man I love this series and each book just keeps getting better and better. This book also kind of brings it back to the first book, so again that’s why it’s important to read that first book. I love the storyline for this third instalment, the attention to detail, the tone shits, the banter and of course the way the characters connect and grow.
I have nothing bad to say, only that you need this series in your life, so please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will be on the edge of your seat, and flipping the pages just to know if the outcome will be grim.

These men never back away from danger—and always fall hard for love in Cover Six Security, an explosive new series from USA Today Bestselling Author Lisa B. Kamps
Gordon “Mac” MacGregor swore an oath to protect and defend—an oath he continues to uphold as a former Army Ranger specializing in dark ops private security with Cover Six Security. Danger is a constant companion—and one of the few things that make him feel alive. He doesn’t expect that danger to come in the form of the Tabitha “TR” Meyers, the only woman who sees him for who he truly is—and the only woman he’s ever sworn off.
TR rarely abides by the rules, not when there’s something she needs—and right now, she needs Mac. She enlists his help for one night, thinking she can simply walk away when it’s over. But that one night is just the beginning, thrusting both of them into a dangerous web of scandal and cover-up with roots that run deeper than either of them expects.
When TR becomes an unwitting pawn in a game of deception and revenge, Mac will do anything to protect her—even if it means risking his own heart.
Lisa B. Kamps is a USA Today Bestselling Author who writes steamy romance with real-life characters and relatable stories that evoke deep emotion. She likes her men hard, her bed soft, her coffee strong, her whiskey neat, and her wine chilled…and when it comes to sports, hockey is the only thing that matters!
Lisa currently lives in Maryland with her husband and two sons (who are mostly sorta-kinda out of the house), one very spoiled Border Collie, two cats with major attitude, several head of cattle, and entirely too many chickens to count. When she’s not busy writing or chasing animals, she’s cheering loudly for her favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals–or going through withdrawal and waiting for October to roll back around!
