This is an epic fantasy adventure with an exciting storyline and it’s a huge book with many pages. This is a very long read and not an overly easy one, mainly due to the high number of characters in the story all of whom have unusual names, making it hard to keep track of them all. The world building however is amazing and the fantasy world created by the author came vividly to life, which made me feel more immersed in the story. The main character and the one who I found it the easiest to feel engaged with is Basil, a sheltered healing mage’s apprentice. Basil sets out to march with the crusade called for by ‘The High King of Coserai’, to defend the holy land following a raid by bloodthirsty monsters at the first archangels birthplace. However, Basil has another reason for going, to accomplish his Low King’s agenda to find the oracle and gain insight into the realms fate. Basil faces many dangers and threats on his journey, including from criminals and demons paid to kill crusade members. Along the way Basil begins to discover the truth about his divine destiny. Told from many different character POV’s I did find the narrative a bit difficult to understand at times. I also personally found there was an overload of information in each chapter which overwhelmed me rather. I must admit I did find myself flicking through some pages just to get to the end of the book. I found the book was just too long with too many characters and the multiple POV’s didn’t work for me. However, the storyline is intriguing, the characters are well defined and the setting comes to life, and as I am not an avid fantasy lover maybe I just ‘didn’t get it’! I did love Basil though and was left wondering what the author has in mind for him in the next book in this series.

The Archcrusade: Tome One is the first book in the Archcrusade Series by this author K. M. Hogenson. This is the first time that I’ve had the pleasure of picking up work produced by this author. The cover was intriguing and makes you really wanna read it just to see what lies within. Even more so after reading the synopsis of the book. I was glad to give in to my curiosity and read it. I was not disappointed 😀 it was a longer than normal read, taking about 3 days to finish with breaks of course. Although i really didn’t want to stop reading lol. It’s read from multiple POVs, which I enjoyed greatly. This high-fantasy was jam packed with magic, adventure, mythical characters,creatures, and action. With in depth detail characters and a well planned out world. I can’t wait to see what else the author has in store for us! I highly recommend reading this

If you are looking for a short, quick read, The Archcrusade is not for you. But, if you are in the mood for amazing characters and fantastic world building, K. M. Hogenson’s book is for you! This fantasy book is full of angels, demons, humans, and many forms of otherworldly creatures. Although the creatures do not exist in the world, the descriptive writing made it so I could see them in my mind while reading. The characters are so well-developed, each with their own story, but each inexplicably connected to one another. K. M. Hogenson beautifully weaves a tale of adventure, drama, danger, destiny, and magic. There are many character points-of-view so it did get confusing, at times, keeping all of the characters strait. But, I was so lost in the descriptive writing that I was not put off by the changes. Overall, an epic, well-written tale of adventure and fantasy. I would happily pick up another book by K. M. Hogenson.

The Archcrusade: Tome One (The Archcrusade Series) by K. M. Hogenson. This is by far the longest book I’ve read in a long time but surprisingly it was not difficult. It was engaging and entertaining and I couldn’t wait to start reading again each time I put it down. Its the story of Basil but you meet so many more characters and find out their stories. Its like multiple stories in one book. Its easy to keep up with and so fun. There is magic, action, adventure, paranormal,fantasy, werewolves, vampires, you name it, its in this book. I can’t possibly mention all the characters without missing something so just know there are multiple characters and their stories and they are so well written that you feel like you have been to this crazy world and you know all the characters. Basil along with other characters face danger, suffering, life threatening acts and all kinds of adventures. This book will keep you on your toes and I can’t wait to read this next one. If you love adventure, danger and fantasy this book is for you!

The Archspawn – Pilgrimage & Prophecies is the first book in the Archcrusades series. This book is quite hefty with over 1300 pages and over 100 characters, with about a third of those having their own POV chapters. This is a story full of magic, adventure, mythical characters and creatures, and action. Even with the length of the book, this is quite fast paced and easy to follow once you get down the varying POV switches and who is who. Some of the names are a bit fun so it did take me a little to realize “oh, that’s THAT guy…” early on, but you do get the hang of it as the pages turn. This made me feel like a Game of Thrones type read with the varying timelines and POV that intermingle and separate at the same time and I love books like that. I did not expect to enjoy this book, since I do not read much high-fantasy but this was actually really well written and thought out, and kept a smooth transition throughout. I did get confused at times but it does circle around and make sense at some point. This book is definitely complex and has some darker aspects so if you have triggers, make sure you look into that before reading. I will definitely be looking forward to the next one, I love these longer reads!

This book is a highly detailed and complex fantasy story that introduces readers to an imaginative and well developed world. So much happens in this book, and it is all supported by an amazing collection of characters. It was great that we got to hear from so many of them, it really broadened the scope of the story. This is the first book that inhave read by this author and what an introduction. I loved the world building that went on and how everything developed over time. I was drawn into the story and engaged so well with the characters. This was a great book to read and I am excited to discover more.

The Archspawn – Pilgrimage & Prophecies is the first book in The Archcrusade series and debut novel by K.M. Hogenson. This is an epic, 89-chapter book- making for a massive read. It is a high fantasy quest with action, adventure, magic, paranormal beings (eg: mages, demons, vampires, shifters, warlocks), danger, dramatic developments, a multi-layered storyline, agendas, a touch of fate/destiny, prophecy, and darker elements that you might want to make yourself aware of before diving in, especially if you have triggers. There was just so much going on in this book that I am really having trouble choosing where to start with my review. So here goes…. Like I said this is a lengthy novel- 1350+ pages of story, 89 chapters, 172+ cast members (characters), over 30 individual POV’s to keep track of, and some very unusual character names to wrap our heads around. There was way too much going on here for me, making for a bit of a chaotic read- especially with so many different characters and perspectives to keep track of- so things did get confusing and muddled at times. While the plot was interesting, the plethora of perspectives, info dumps in some areas & lack of information in others, and the somewhat stilted dialogue (at times), really made for a choppy, lagging/dragging read. I really think that some of the individual perspectives/POV, especially the singular chapters, could have been condensed and that information passed on in some other, more streamlined way. While I appreciate the author’s passion, the heart and soul that they put into their work- I found that the issues I had made it difficult to connect with the characters and/or invest in the overall story. With so much to keep track of and get my head around, I just couldn’t find my ‘groove’ and lose myself in the story like I was really hoping to do. There were way too many things that interrupted the flow and/or pulled me out of the story. There were times I found my mind wandering because the story was lagging, so I repeatedly had to force myself to stay focused on what was going on. I feel with less POV’s and a few less chapters/pages, the story would have been far more engaging. I think a lot of these issues could have been picked up and sorted with more editing and several Beta reads. This is only my personal opinion though, and now looking at some of the other reviews, I seem to be the only one who has had any issues — So if you love an epic fantasy, with plenty of adventure and don’t mind the issues that I found- then this just might be what you are looking for. The story is set to continue in Book #2, so it will be interesting to see where the author takes us from here. Happy Reading

Normally I would not books like this because I am not into the paranormal or monsters and such, but I chose to read this one for a challenge I was doing. After finishing this book I started thinking that shutting out some topics and only reading certain genres that maybe I was missing some really good books.
I enjoyed the characters, especially Watercress, and the story line of the book. I have not read any books by this author in the past but after reading this one, I will be checking out more of their stories.
Check out this book I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.

I do not give 5 star reviews often but this book is well worth the 5 stars if you like fantasy adventure with a touch of horror aspects. The story has a lot of detail into the world the author created. There are vampires, archdemons, magicians and images, humans, and so much more in this fantasy story. My favorite part is how long the book is. It may take longer to read but it is worth the time it will take you. Enjoy!

This is the biggest book I have read in a long time but please don’t let that affect your judgment! This first book was absolutely amazing! It was masterfully written and the world building is top notch! It’s delightfully refreshing to see an author put new spins on different fantasy tropes and K. M. Hogenson did that in spades! I am absolutely blown away considering this is her debut novel! As someone who loves nature, some of my favorite parts were the names, they were very earthy! I honestly can’t say enough about this book but I am glad I picked it up! I can’t wait to dig my claws into the next one when it comes out!

4.5 stars The Archcrusade: Tome One: The Archspawn – Pilgrimage & Prophecies is K. M. Hogenson debut novel. It is interesting, and unique and a lengthy read but a great read. I can’t believe it is a debut novel. This is another author to watch out for. I see very good things for them. The story is told in multiple POV which just heightens the story more as you get to see inside the nuts and bolts and how they think. It is an adult epic-fantasy adventure with magic, monsters, Vampires, Angels and Demons, Kings, Oracles, crusades, pilgrimages, prophecies and a whole lot more in between. It is a complex web of multiple plots and cleverly woven threads to pull it all together to give the reader maximum enjoyment. The world building is artfully done, and you can picture the multitude of characters and the world in which they live. There are complex characters and there are those that you will laugh and cry with and those you would have rather not met at all. K. M. Hogenson has written a diverse bunch of characters and race, creed, sexuality or colour has not been left out. Each has their own agendas which adds to the mystery but in a world like this you don’t always know who to trust. I for one can’t wait for more.

Wow! What a massive book! This def took some time for me to read, but it was well written, and I felt like the world-building was done well. I thought the character names were kinda cute; you have Basil, Anise, Watercress, etc. I loved the spin on the fantasy tropes involved; and just all around thought it was a good book. The Curse of Jean Lafitte was such a fun book! I love historical books, but when they collide with the present day it so much fun to read. The world building was awesome and so much detail was given for the characters, yet it never got bogged down or slow. Right from the beginning I was hooked, and could not put the book down! Would absolutely read more by this author.

This was a very interesting read. As the author states in their review, it is beefy. The complexity of the story actually helps keep it pulled together. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to stay with it but the more I got into the story, the more the characters pulled me. The details and the characters wove this story together in a way that is intriguing and kind of fascinating. By the time I was finished, I found that I had actually kind of enjoyed the book. Well done for a debut novel.

I had read a few books from this author but this series is by far my favorite. This is the sixth and final book of the epic relic hunters series. This time when I started to read this book it was bittersweet. I really wanted to read the conclusion of this story but I didn’t want it to end. I could not put this book down until I finished it and it only took me a few hours. I can’t wait to see what this amazing author will write next.
Adam and Matt are finally getting to know about their family history. They only have one more mystery to solve and that could be the biggest myth of all. The Hunter brothers are going to find out if there was truly the wonderful world of Atlantis. They are not the only ones that are searching for Atlantis. The brothers rivals are also searching and they won’t let them find it first. Adam and Matt need to find it so they can protect with is their family history. Will the brothers find what they are looking for or will someone else get there before they can?

Adam and Matt are in big trouble, as they try to steer their boat through the storm raging around them, they can also see the shipwrecks which surround them, that is until the equipment in the boat goes off, but as they approach the first gap, they can see the first of the constellations they need. Adam is gripping onto the boat for dear life, his fear of water and drowning aren’t doing him any favours and it is only looking to the sky and Matt with his encouragement which is keeping him from utter panic.
The storm becomes even more wild as they crash through the waves, but the further they go, the harder it is to keep in course, especially when the turns are extremely tight and the brothers are in an old rusty boat, all they can hear is the groaning of the hull against the submerged rocks and wrecks, however when the engine dies on the last turn and they punch through to clear skies, all they can see is a drop off the end of the world and it feels like this well and truly is the end for them and that they will never find out the truth.
All is not lost though when they manage to swim out of the wreck and to land, however when they encounter the locals from Atlantis, they think that they are out of danger, however, they are not treated kindly and soon they find out why. Can Adam and Matt convince the Atlanteans that they haven’t come to do harm, but that they are only here for answers and to warn them about the groups who have followed their journey for more nefarious reasons, or will they lose more than just their lives? This is an action packed read where danger surrounds and catastrophe is just around the corner in a race against time to save the world from the evil lurking in the hearts of the evildoers.

This is the sixth book in the Relics Hunters series, and I am so sad to see it end! This has been one of my favorite series I’ve read in such a long time. The author has a brilliant way of creating a flawless story flow and just pulls you right in from the start. I absolutely recommend reading these in order as there are five books worth of backstory, character development, and crucial plot twists that you’ll need to appreciate fully. As always, I love the multiple points of view as you get to experience the story from different perspectives. The author creates such vivid imagery with their words, I can’t recommend picking this series up enough! Even though YA is a genre I tend to lean to, I believe this would be a great fit for anyone looking for thrilling adventures as this group goes treasure hunting with quite a bit of mystery and intrigue involved. As sad as I am to see this series end, I will be recommending to everyone I can!

This book is the sixth and final book of the series. This is not a stand alone as there is a lot of build up to this point plus it is a continuation of the previous book.
Adam and Matt are still trying to make their way to Atlantis to find out what happened to their father. They had to do this with little to no help from the others as they were threatened not to help the brothers out. Winterbourne is hot on their trails and even follows them into Atlantis.
The brothers have to band together with the Atlanteans to defeat a common enemy while also finding out what actually happened to their father.
I really enjoyed this conclusion of the series, it was fast paced and full of information. Greek mythology mixed with modern times made it much more exciting to read about. Martin Ferguson did an amazing job with this series!

The follow up to the previous Relic Hunters story (Book 5, Betrayal of the Gods) picked up immediately where the previous story left off, which was much appreciated. In that sense, haha, I’m glad that I was able to literally put one down and pick up the next, or I’d be tortured in that time frame of waiting for an author to finish the next story! So, thanks for being on top of it, Mr. Ferguson!
As with the last story, I definitely enjoyed the marrying of the past and present with mythology and felt more invested this time as I had background on the Hunters and wanted to see them succeed in their goals of tracking their father’s final mission. Without giving away too much of the storyline, it was definitely intriguing and the crossover of timelines was enjoyable. I can definitely see this series continuing, developing other characters from the Hunter group and redefining what their roles are with the changes in the British Museum. A fun read!

Kingdom of the Hunters (Relic Hunters Book 6) by Martin Ferguson. This is the 6th and final installment in the Relic Hunter series and I have to say I’m a little sad its ending. In this book Matt and Adam Hunter find the lost city of Atlantis. In this book they find out what actually happened to their father and when the rest of their enemies attack the lost city they fight to save it. Duncan finally finds out who his mother is and even though the fate of the British Museum is left undecided I’m hopeful! This series is so fun and exciting full of mythology, treasure hunting, finding out fates and mystery. I have loved every word. Its geared toward young adults but I truly enjoyed it. I do recommend reading these in order to get a better understanding of the characters and their stories. Just a warning when you start this book you won’t want to put it down until you are done!

I was so excited to get back into this story and these characters. This series has been brilliant so far and this book is a fantastic addition. It was hard going into this story knowing it was the conclusion of the book and yet I couldn’t stop myself from reading it so quickly. This book was exciting and fast paced and I loved watching the characters develop even further. After six books, you expect to have seen everything from them and yet they all seemed to give so much more. I have enjoyed every single moment of this series and I am sad that this is the conclusion. But the best way to get over this is to read them all again. I would highly recommend not only this book but this whole series to any YA fan.

This is the 6th and final book in the Relic Hunters series. I won’t lie I am a little devastated that this is the last book as I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. The author has written an amazing series that has truly captivated me. Their attention to detail in the historical and mythology elements as well as the action and adventure in the present day really meant I couldn’t put them down.
We are back with Matt and Adam as they search for their father uncovering myths that they never imagined existed. This is really a moving and heart wretching story as we finally learn what happened to their dad all those years ago. The brothers have a lot to deal with. As well as the dangerous and heartbreaking journey they are on to discover the truth they are also fighting a danger closer to home as their enemies chase them down. Will Adam and Matt be able to save everything that their father and they have worked to protect at the British Museum? What other secrets will be uncovered?
I don’t want to give to much of the story away but I do recommend reading them from the beginning of the series. If you love history and mythology then you will love this series.

Kingdom of the Oceans, Relic Hunters Book 6, the final installment by Martin Furgusen was an absolutely incredible book. I have been with this series since around 2018, and I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Martin you have truly outdone yourself. I have loved every single one of the Relic Hunters installments, and this one just takes the cake. Everything wrapped up in a perfect bow, with the possibility of more, and I really really really hope there is more someday! I recommend this series in its entirety, all 6 books are incredible action adventures that build up to this beautiful ending. I do recommend reading them all in order, however I would be careful, because once you start you won’t want to put Martin’s work down until you’ve finished the 6th book! Thank you Martin for a truly incredible experience!

Kingdom of the Oceans is the sixth book in the Relic Hunters Series. This is a YA adventure that will have you turning the pages till the end. I highly recommend reading the previous book before diving into this one as it picks up right where it left off. Plus there are some important points details to help make this make sense. I’d suggest reading this series in order as well as it will help you get to know the characters better what’s been going on. Get ready for quite the adventure as Matt and Adam as they continue to chase after the mystical lost kingdom of Atlantis. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I highly recommend reading this book to see what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Kingdom of the Oceans is the sixth and final instalment of Martin Ferguson’s Relic Hunters series, and it follows Adam and Matt Hunter as they finally find the lost city of Atlantis. They learn about what happened to their father and one of their enemies, and when the rest of their enemies attack the lost city, they fight alongside the Atlanteans to help save it. My favourite character is Adam and my least favourite character is probably General Walcott, because at least I understand Elizabeth Bowen’s motives. I recommend this book because it’s really interesting how Greek mythology is weaves into this modern-day story, and despite the fact that it follows multiple characters, you get a real understanding for who they are and what their voice is. I’ve only read the last two books of this series, but I loved them so much that I’m going to go back and read the series from the beginning. ‘I hope you know that the adventure of life with you gave me the happiest of memories.’
