The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase is the first instalment in an exciting and sexy new series. Set in the world of fame and fortune, this has the making to be your new guilty pleasure. Throw in some arrogant actors and a small-town heroine, you know you’re in for a treat.

If you’re not a fan of insta-love, this might not be the read for you. This book moves fast, but that’s to be expected in such a short read. The author doesn’t skimp on setting the scene though, and I felt like I had a good idea of Chase’s character in the opening chapters. I won’t say that my judgements were completely inaccurate, but there are definitely some surprises along the way. From the blurb we know that Chase isn’t going to be the most endearing of men, but he has his own way of charming the ladies, including myself and his wife, Carrie. We know they’ll be married, but what we don’t know is the circumstances. As for Carrie, I’m torn! You know what you’re getting with Chase, but Carrie’s character left me feeling a little conflicted. When we first meet her, I like her principles and values. But these seemed to get confused and lost as her relationship with Chase heats up and I struggled with some of the contradictions being made. If you can get past this, both Carrie and the story are really quite enjoyable reads, especially if you need a quick fix of drama and passion.

While I’m left with some questions, this was a fun little read that I got through in one evening. I haven’t read too many actor-type romance reads, so it was interesting to delve into an unfamiliar genre. It has definitely caught my interests and I think I’ll be looking out for the next book in this series; I want to see how the characters progress!

This story is the first for me by Allyson Simonian. It was a surprisingly fast read, almost too fast as just as I was getting into the characters it was over. However, it was entertaining enough for me to want to read other stories by Simonian. This series definitely has potential.

Chase and Carrie are two very different characters drawn together by love and attraction. What they do with that love is what makes this story interesting.

Looking forward to reading more about this couple and others that follow.

The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase (The Holmby Hills Series Book 1) by Allyson Simonian was quick romantic read. I would rate this book a four out of five stars. I loved Carrie’s point of view, it was relevant and added to the plot. Carrie was a beautiful romantic character and I instantly loved her. Chase was arrogant, self centered, and selfish. The Men of Holmby HIlls: Chase was a good 4 star read and book one in The Holmby Hills series. This is a quick read about Chase and Carrie.

Chase is a popular actor and is known as a playboy. While on set he meets Carrie and he is drawn in by her. Carrie is a teacher and is surprised when Chase asks her out.. One date turns into more and things move forward very well for them.

They end of getting married, eventually things start to feel a little off between them. Carrie is starting to feel like marriage may have been a mistake. This isn’t her world.

Things take a big twist when some secrets are revealed. Will Chase and Carrie be able to get past their issues and have a HEA?

We get dual POV which I enjoy. All of the secondary characters were great. I was happy with how things ended and I can’t wait to read more from this series.

The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase (The Holmby Hills Series Book 1) by Allyson Simonian is a contemporary romance story with very short chapters making it a quick read. But I suspect because of this we were not given enough time to find the history behind these characters and their world. Whilst I liked the story, it did not grab me, and I felt the characters were not fully realised. It was hard to relate to and invest myself in the characters. The story frustrated me because the lead male was a self-absorbed womanising ahole. I believe the story would be great if it were longer in its telling and more details were given making the characters and their world more relatable.

Chase is an actor; whose childish and wanton ways threaten his job and off puts the people around him. When a new girl turns up, he finds he can’t stop thinking about her. Things move fast, he marries her but his ahole ways and lies and secrets threaten their very foundation. I really, really wanted to smack some sense into him.

Carrie is a very sweet woman who can’t believe this sexy man has any interest in her, one she has had a crush on since her teenage years. One minute she has run away from one relationship only to jump in to another one. Unfortunately, her new life is nothing like she envisioned, and all hell breaks loose.

It will be interesting to what happens in future books.

The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase (The Holmby Hills Series Book 1) by Allyson Simonian was a light and fun romance. The story easily pulls the reader in with the introduction of Chase the movie star and Carrie the teacher from Texas working in wardrobe for the summer. The two had great chemistry and it was fun to see how quickly things escalated between the two. The storyline was easy to follow and seemed to easily flow from page to page. The characters were fun and several were witty. I found myself laughing out loud at several times. This book is the first book of this series and the first book I have read by this author. I am curious to see what this series has in store next.

The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase by Allyson Simonian is the first book in the Holmby Hills Series. This is a quick read that is the perfect way to while away an afternoon.
Allyson Simonian is a new author to me and this was quite a nice way to be introduced to her work. Although the story itself I didn’t find to be overly captivating it gave me a great insight in to the type of writing this author favours. I found it easy to connect with the characters and though the story was well developed.
I do wish the story had been a full length novel. At times the book felt like it was slightly rushed and would have benefited from a more drawn out story. The characters would have had a greater depth to them. However I definitely enjoyed what I read and was never tempted to put the book down at all. This has certainly piqued my interest in this author and I look forward to the next book in the series.

I have never had the pleasure of reading anything from Allyson Simonian prior to Chase: The Men of Holmby Hills. I was a bit unsure of what to expect given that but when I saw the cover I was immediately drawn to the story and needed to know how things would unravel between the covers. I am glad that I picked this up, and I ultimately enjoyed the novel enough to be back for more in the series. I did struggle with a few moments and some character situations that arise. I think for me these were mostly personal past struggles came to light and I was connecting in an uncomfortable way. My only technical issue with the book itself was the way this story was rushed. I could have used more details and some more coping and seeing the characters cope than I feel they were given. It did make it a quick read however and I was able to devour it in a single sitting.

Chase is an actor who on the outside looking in has everything. Money, women, and luxuries most of us only daydream about. Now here is where I would maybe add a small trigger warning…. Someone wants to destroy Chase, mainly his character. I was baffled when I found out who exactly was out to get Chase and there is where I wanted some more details and dialog. The first attack on his character comes in the form of a falls rape claim… told you triggered…

Then we get to meet Carrie. Chase finds her delectable and even more so thinks she will improve his standing as far as his character goes. However, when things start to heat up and more and more pressure is put on Chase, Carrie starts to waiver in her belief that the two are compatible or worth the mess. You will have to find out what happens on your own, but I do recommend it as a quick afternoon read for those rainy days you just want to snuggle in with a book and a hot drink. I am looking forward to seeing where the series will go and book two toutes the story of Aiden.

This was my first read by this author, and I enjoyed it. I wish we could’ve gotten to know the characters a little more as I felt we just got the big parts that made them the way they are or act. Was a good story I was just left wanting more, as they meet, fall and marry so quickly, I felt I missed a big gap of time.
I liked the drama of it all but it was just missing some key things to make it a 5 star for me. Will read more from this author though as it was well written.

Chase: The Men of Holmby Hills is the first book I’ve read by this author and I can honestly say, I cannot wait to read more by her. This book grabbed my attention from the very beginning and kept me interested.
Chase is an actor who has it all. He has all the money he ever needs, he finds a different woman to keep him company whenever he wants and he seems happy.
When a story pops up that Chase was with a minor, he denies it. The club he went to was a twenty-one and over club. The girl must’ve had a fake Id. Now Chase is worries about his image. He may not get cast in certain shows / movies because of the bad publicity he is getting even though it was not his fault.
Carrie is filling in for Susan over in wardrobe. Chase is immediately thinking Carrie is perfect for his image. She’s not bad on the eyes either. Once Chase and Carrie start seeing each other things move quickly. They are from different worlds, they want different things and Carrie starts second guessing things. Someone is out to get Chase and somehow they are always finding info to go to the press with. When i found out who it was I couldn’t believe it. This book was well written, the character were all great,..most of them anyway. Cannot wait to read more by this author.

This is a really quick read. I read every word of the story in about 2 hours. The formatting of the book is set up with super short chapters moving the story along in a linear timeline.

The story has a strong middle and end and while I appreciate a less detailed story, this book is written with such an abbreviated beginning it was hard to understand HOW the instalove came about.

It will be interesting to see if Chase will be mentioned in future installments of this series.

Very solid book from start to finish. Lightening fast read, I was concerned that I might not completely commit to the characters with the seemingly low number of pages. But I flew quickly through the pages because I connected with Chase and Carrie. I loved reading this book and learning more about their relationship. The story The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase (The Holmby Hills Series Book 1) by Allyson Simonian is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that is fast-paced and pulls you in from the very beginning. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Chase and Carrie. Chase is an actor who you could say he is self-centered and selfish. He is finding that his wife, Carrie may be realizing that he doesn’t deserve her. Carrie is a young woman who is kind and caring. She is someone who loves to teach and has compassion for others. She is finding that she and Chase are not connecting. Will Chase be able to show Carrie just how amazing that he believes her to be? What does the future hold for Chase and Carrie? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has emotional moments. With a book being fast-paced, sometimes it is hard to get to know the characters. Not so with this story. I grew to care about Chase and Carrie with each chapter that I read and wanted them to be happy. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that has amazing characters. I highly recommend reading it.

This is the first book i’ve read from this author and it completely intrigued me. I loved that one character is famous in a book and I wanted to see how it played out.

Carrie is a school teacher and it seemed that her relationship to chase was on the fast track. She was completely enthralled but being married to someone famous was completely different from what we believe it would be. Chase is an awesome hero and wants to change stuff to make his life and image better but there are battles!

This is the first book in this series and I will say I’m intrigued on what else this series holds.

What will happen to their relationship when she finds out he has a secret? Are they strong enough to survive the aftermath? Emotional story in parts that will keep you reading. The Men of Holmby Hills: ChaseThe Men of Holmby Hills: Chase by Allyson Simonian
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase, is the first book in The Holmby Hills series by Allyson Simonian. It is a short story- and made for a quick and easy read. It is a contemporary romance- with drama, a touch of mystery, secrets, and realizing what’s truly important. I though this was a good story, but it didn’t grab me the way some of Ms. Simonian’s other work has done. I don’t really know why exactly, perhaps I am just having an ‘off’ day. But this is what I came away feeling. The story did feel a little rushed in places, and some of the story/situations were skimmed over and I felt like I didn’t really get the chance to immerse myself in the story because everything happened so quickly, too quickly at times. I would have liked to have read a slightly longer version of this book, so the characters got more of a chance to develop and grow- I’m not saying that there wasn’t any depth to the story or characters, because there was some, but Not enough to have me invest in them and their story. I did prefer the second half of the book to the first halt- as there was some drama, a touch of danger, and a little more action- which gave the story an added interest.
Chase is a well-known actor working on a popular series. His immature ways, playboy ways, and thoughtless actions have given him some bad press of late and his image is in serious need of an overhaul. When he meets Carrie, she’s like a breath of fresh air- and he’s immediately drawn to her. He asks her out- and one date soon leads to more. A whirlwind romance ensues, followed by a trip down the aisle. But when secrets are revealed it shatters her trust and everything starts crumbling around them.
Carrie is a high school history teacher when she meets Chase on set. She is completely smitten by him and can’t believe this sexy celebrity is showing any interest in her. Everything happens so fast, one minute they’re dating and the next they’re married. But life with a celebrity isn’t everything she’d imagined it would be.- there are some serious drawbacks, especially when he’s so self-centred. She starts to feel a little lost, withdrawn and unsure of herself. She really doesn’t feel comfortable in his world- not that he’s doing anything to try to make things easier for her. Finding out a few ‘truths’ shocks her back into reality. But where do they go from here? Chase has some serious changes to make if he wants to fix things. Will he even be bothered? And if he is, will it be too little too late?
I really didn’t like Chase for most of the book, and he only just redeemed himself a little by the end. He really is everything the blurb says- spoiled, arrogant, self centred, selfish, pompous, career driven, and very immature. I couldn’t believe the way he treated Carrie- she was so sweet, understanding, shy, and smart. So, she really didn’t deserve the way he treated her. But I felt a little better about everything with the way the story ended- with hope and love.
If you want to know what happens with Chase and Carrie, you really should read all the details for yourself!

Thank you, Ms. Simonian!
