A Girl, Stuck (Found Families Series) by Kelly Elizabeth Huston – Review by Amber Howard

A Girl, StuckA Girl, Stuck by Kelly Elizabeth Huston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was pretty thrilling. Lots of twists and turns along the way. The pace of the book was great. Never a dull moment. The characters were well thought out and developed. I absolutely love Auntie Leo. The mob crime scenes can be a little intense . I didn’t realize this was part of a series when I first started reading it but it works as a stand alone as well.

I swear Naomi can do no wrong! I absolutely loved this story. Delilah is a Demon with morals. Malakhi is mysterious. There is attraction between the two. There are a few twists in this story and a few things that caught me off guard. Definitely a great read for those into the supernatural. What I like most about all of Naomi’s stories is that everyone gets represented.

Not the book ending on a cliff hanger of that magnitude. I was sucked in and didn’t even realize I reached the end. The villain of the book took me by complete surprise but in hindsight it shouldn’t have. This was the best installment so far. The characters are fantastic. There isn’t a dull point in the book. I cannot wait until the next one comes out.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Naomi has to be one of the most creative authors I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. Who would think aliens and werewolves would go together? This story has me hooked from the first sentence. Nothing else mattered but finishing this book. Xenobia is such a wonderful being. Her dedication to protecting women who escape slavery and abuse is honorable. This novel has action, romance, friendship, lessons that you can apply to your own life.

Fearless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, #5)Fearless Love by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m writing this review with mixed emotions. This by far was the best book in the series. I smiled, I cried, I rejoiced when things worked out for everyone. However, I’m so sad the series is over. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the Bennett family and falling in love with all the characters. Definitely a series I would recommend to other romance lovers and I’ll probably read it again. Thank you K.G Fletcher for giving us such a beautiful story.

The Other Side of Together by Emily Cox and Nicole Allen – Review by Amber Howard

The Other Side of TogetherThe Other Side of Together by Emily Cox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I started this book I thought it was going to be a cheesy romance book. The teen coming of age type of book. But it was so much more. I was hooked immediately. Every turn of the page just put me deeper in. I thought the authors did a great job touching upon the difference of cultures between Mei and Marcus. The romance between the two was very natural and sweet. The secret behind Nick, her parents! Mind blown and we just touched the tip of the iceberg. I really cannot wait for the sequel. Please be a sequel. I have questions and need answers!

Easy to read and get lost in. I love how the author gives us both Mira’s point of view as well as Declan’s. I like that Declan has lots of layers to him. I like that the romance isn’t rushed. It made it feel more realistic. Definitely a good read.

I am a big fan of this author and have yet to be disappointed by any story she tells. This one included. Curse of the Forbidden Island is a short story with romance, mystery and plenty of entertainment. I wish it was a full novel. I enjoyed it thoroughly and cannot wait to see what’s next from C.A. King!

I enjoyed this book so much. Enemies to lovers are my favorite type of romance novels and this one hit the mark. Julia and Griffin couldn’t be more different yet just exactly what each other needs. The book cover is beautifully done and the way the story is written really captures that time frame. Definitely give this story a read, you won’t regret it.

The cover makes me think of beauty and the beast. It’s gorgeous. I loved how the author used Pedro from the first installment and gave him great character growth. It’s rare that a character I despised becomes one that I root for. Again this authors writing is amazing and if you enjoy romance novels this one is for you.

This was an interesting novella. We join Pedro, Anne and their family for Christmas. The couple are on opposites sides of having children. Meanwhile we learn of an old tale regarding the property. I didn’t like this one as much as her other books in the Winemakers series but it was still good.

I swear I got transported to Portugal during the 1800s while reading this novel. From page one I was hooked. Giovanna has a talent for capturing a readers senses and drawing them in. Henrique and Isabel are like yin and yang, complementary. The chemistry is electrifying and swoon worthy. Please read this novel!

Sweet Dreams by Claire (Capture the Light, #2)Sweet Dreams by Claire by Nanette Littlestone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a lovely book. It’s definitely a quirky romance novel but it’s also relatable. Claire has major insecurities and she’s living her mom’s dream. This novel wasn’t just about her falling in love but discovering herself and I really enjoyed that aspect. I got so involved in the story I was shouting out at Claire’s mother and at Finn the entire book lol. Highly recommend.

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet Book 2) by April Moran – Review by Amber Howard

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet #2)A Heart So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love the playlist at the beginning of the book. I also love that each chapter has a quote at theme beginning. Book 2 was even more entertaining than the first. There’s always the fear that King will go back on his word but seeing how much he really does care about her and does his best to protect her is endearing. He’s changing for the better. The cruelty of Kings brothers was intense and I felt Ava’s fear. So trigger warning to anyone who has trauma around violence.

I liked the book. I’m glad the mystery behind Sophie’s disappearance wasn’t something terrible. The chemistry between Lela and Hamish was spot on. I also could relate to Lela. Feeling like you got to be the peace maker in the family all the time and putting your life on hold to do so. It’s a good read.

I’m such a fan of this author. The creativeness of her stories really knows no bounds. Like who would have ever thought a crime boss and alien crossover would be so good? It’s exciting, hot, and a page turner. there’s plenty of action and the only complaint I’d have is that it wasn’t longer. It’s definitely a great read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Orenda is the second book in the Latitude Series. I love the writing style of this author. It’s easy for me to get lost in the story. It feels natural. This series gets you thinking. I believe somewhere at the end of the book it said the Orenda is an Iroquois belief that all natural objects and people possess a mystical energy. I personally believe that’s true. I think everyone has gift and some people use it more than others some people can tap into it and some ppl choose to ignore it. I think Caitlin uses her gift very well in this series.

I don’t know what it is about Christmas romances that makes my week but this book definitely did that. This is the first work by this author that I’ve read. I’m eager to go back and read the other books in the series now. I’ve read a few other books centered around the Amish community and I’ve seen a few movies however I am no expert so I appreciated the glossary. I enjoyed reading about Anne and Andy. They seem perfect for each other. It’s definitely a feel good story and I highly recommend it.

The Christmas Carousel (The Brass Ring Series, Book 2)The Christmas Carousel by K.L. Small
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great story! I loved it more than the first one. Rusty is such a great kid. His character is so relatable. He’s struggling with his grandpa having Alzheimer’s, his father losing his job and understanding the true meaning of Christmas. I think the author did an amazing job tying in the religious traditions of Christmas with the secular traditions of Christmas. It was well written. My adult self teared up at some of the adventures Rusty experienced. It was heartwarming, meaningful and a great reminder of what’s important. I cannot wait to read this to my little one. Oh and the glossary and explanations at the end is great for kids to understand topics they may not know about.

Logan is such an amazing person. To have dealt with her unfaithful husband’s death. Starting over again, new relationship, and everything that happened with her daughter. My heart beat so fast towards the end of the book. So much happened in such a short time. I’m glad everything worked out for Lori and Shannon.
