Dragon Bond: A Monster Brides RomanceDragon Bond: A Monster Brides Romance by Lilliana Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a fast paced, action packed quick read. Roran is a rule breaker. He likes to mingle and interact with human women. After a battle with Dragon Hunters he meets his mate. A human named Lila. He is instantly drawn to protect her from an assault. Things heat up and Lila is thrown into a world she didn’t know existed. This was a great read.

I am a science nerd and this story registered with my soul. It’s a beautifully written slow burn romance about healing and taking a leap of faith in love. I absolutely loved all the bird facts. I loved the character development and growth. If you’re looking for a story that gives you all the warmth and feels this one (and the other in the series) will do that for you.

This book was so cute. I loved reading Niko’s broken English. The heat between Niko and Chloe was perfect. You could literally feel the attraction jump off of the pages. They match so well.

Throughout the book everytime Peyton was mentioned I sighed and rolled my eyes. Custody battles are the worse. They bring out the worst in people and she was no different.
Super glad everything worked out.

I also didn’t realize it was apart of a series until after I finished the book.
I’m not menopause age yet but it was I testing reading about Chloe’s experience.

I loved this story so much. It has a slow start. But if you stick with it, it picks up and doesn’t slow down again. It was written very well. I could picture everything in my mind like a movie. The reading soundtrack was perfect. It’s definitely a romance and fantasy but it has traces of a mystery. I loved the old world feel to the story as well.

This was a cute fun story. Kate and Liam. There is a lot going on. Tons of secrets and both characters are hiding and protecting themselves. Which makes the relationship even more complicated. There really isn’t a dull moment in this story at all. This book was steamy, good hearted and a great rom com.

So excited that Anna has her chance at love. Hunter and her perfect for each other but they dont realize it. Both want the same thing but are so protective and secretive they stand in their own way of love and happiness. Although it takes them a while to figure it out the story keeps you locked in. I really enjoyed this series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely love Becky Flade’s gift for story telling. I’m always hooked from the first few lines.
Although this story is about love it isn’t just the romantic kind. We also see friendship and family form. Maddie and Kate bond is just as important as Maddie and Nate. I think Becky did a great job with showing the side of foster care that most of us never experience or hear of. There are some sensitive topics so fair warning before you start.

What do you get when you combine magic, a strong female lead and adventure? A masterpiece. Once I started this story I could not stop. Alice and her friends were very intriguing characters and you can tell the author put a lot of thought into each one. I enjoyed the different perspectives. I cannot wait for the second book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was an amazing story and I’m so glad that I had the pleasure to read it. This isn’t your typical rom com. It’s a bit more real. Del is hurting. Deep down pain, guilt and shame. She’s lost who she is trying to be who everyone wants her to be. She constantly snuffs out her own light. She is a widow who hasn’t gotten over her husband’s death and blames herself for it although it wasn’t her fault. She’s full of fear and anxiety. But she has a huge heart. She’s smart, resourceful and great at her job. Ben is more than the celebrity on screen and may be the perfect guy for her if she lets him in. Honestly the story couldn’t have ended any better. I highly recommend this book.

I wasn’t sure how much I would like this story when I first chose to read it. The prologue sucked me right in and I couldn’t put it down. Midnight falls was full of horror, action and thrills. The author did a great job creating this town and telling the story. I cannot wait to read more from him.

This series has been amazing. One of my top 3 of all time. Yes there’s magic but the most important part is Titania. Her selflessness and desire to protect fae and humans is inspiring. The sacrifices she continues to make is amazing.
The events that unfold in To Be A Fae Rogue are happy, sad, terrifying, and celebratory. I cannot wait for the last installment. Tricia another amazing job!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I don’t remember high school being so complicated but it’s probably because I blocked most of high school out 😂. I really liked the Runway Career event. I think schools should definitely offer something similar.

I love Holland. I think her parents did an amazing job with her. She was a great character. I think the author did an amazing job capturing high school and all of the different groups and personalities. Definitely a 5/5 ⭐️. The artwork on the cover is cute and as a reader I loved all the references to books.

Murder in prospect is the latest novel in the Eve Sawyer Mysteries. I must admit I haven’t read all of them. But the few I’ve read has been amazing. I do like that although it is a series they can be read independently and you can follow along just fine.

The cover is beautifully done and fits the story. The author does a wonderful job telling a story that sucks you in and paints a picture. It’s full of twist and turns. She keeps you reading. I highly recommend checking out her other books.

I’ve been a fan of Mallory’s for a while. She’s been great to Alice and a great sister. Until now she’s been a supporting cheater and it’s great to see her in the spotlight. I
Highly recommend this book.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Notebook Mysteries The Art of Deception is the latest book in the series, however it is the first book that I am reading by this author.

The book is quick paced. We get right into the mystery. Emma is crafty and resourceful. There were a few twist and turns. I really enjoy her and Jeremey’s relationship. Although it’s possible to read this book as a stand alone I think I would have more understand with background information on each character from the previous books.

I definitely give it a 4/5 stars.

Magic Price

So the first book I read in this series was actually book number 2. I knew I had to go back and read the first one. I’m glad I did. Although I found book to enjoyable the information in book 1 helped me make sense of a few things. This series is a page turner. The creative world the author has created is by far one of the best I’ve encountered. I enjoy fantasy books (one of my favorite genres to read), this exceeded my expectations. I feel like I’m completely submerged in their world as I’m reading. The magic used in the story is a different flavor than I’m used to but it made it more interesting. There is never a full moment when n this story. Each character is unique and adds to the story. Even the ones you despise. Please give this series a chance. You won’t regret it!

Magic-Scars

This is by far one of the best series I have ever read. The amount of creativity and originality that went into creating this book is amazing. I could not put it down. I fell asleep reading it and picked it up as soon as I opened my eyes. I rejoiced in the small victories and hurt when Troy experienced the losses. I felt a sense of pride as his character evolved and he embraced who he was (lineage) while maintaining who he wants to be (better than his father and all the leaders focused on being the most powerful). Especially after what he went through in prison. I was completely shocked with learning about the door opener Lirih. The characters are so greatly written that any loss felt like I lost them. I highly recommend this book. It’s full of action, steam, love, and magic.

Magic-Borne

*Sigh* This is a bittersweet moment. Sweet because I thoroughly enjoyed this installment. Bitter because it’s the last one. This final installment blew my mind away. Ian Troy and his friends must face fate to save everyone. But in doing so will Ian finally turn into the beast he’s fought so hard against? Will he succumb to magic and turn out just like his father? It was captivating and page turning. At times intense. I haven’t enjoyed such a good book in a very long time. It’s definitely worth a read.

Boxed Set

I love that this is now in a box set! Easy to read in order now!

Dark is the Wood (Enchanted Tales with Dragon Scales Series) by Kristin Ward – Review by Amber Howard

Dark is the Wood: A Young Adult Fantasy RomanceDark is the Wood: A Young Adult Fantasy Romance by Kristin Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5/5 ⭐️ but really it’s more like 100/10. This book was so freaking good. I read it in one sitting. I could not put it down. I love a strong female lead and Gillian measured up.

The best part of this story was the depth of each character. There was so much more to them than just good, bad. Getting to know and understanding each character was refreshing. Even the “bad” characters had you understanding their need, pain and loss.
I do not know if there will be a sequel or not but there are so many questions that I need answers too. The other witches who hid, do they know what happened? Can they feel the change? Is Marius truly the last dragon? I have a ton of other questions but they would be spoilers and I don’t want to ruin it for everyone else. But do yourself a favor and read this book!

***Side note****
This is indeed part of a series and I am ecstatic. Rushing over to read the sequel now.

Glass Houses by Sinister Styx was such a good short story. You get sucked right in and boom it’s over. I wish there was more but honestly it didn’t need more to make an impact. It really emphasized what people will do for love, every action has a consequence and well what goes around comes around.

Blood & Ravens by A.D. Brazeau was very well written. The flow of the story, the POV of each character, and the way the story unfolds in my opinion was top tier.

Greer is a smart and resourceful. Theron isn’t what I expected but it made the story interesting. I love enemy to lovers books and this one hit the mark. I cannot wait for the next one.

4.5/5 ⭐️

Rock Crush and Roll by Hunter Snow was a cute and endearing romance story. I really like Cary and Tyler’s romance. They have a lot of similar characteristics although they come from different backgrounds.

Not going to lie the ending of the story made me emotional. I usually on cry during sad stories but this one was so beautiful and genuine that I couldn’t help but get misty eyed.

If you’re looking for a feel good story this one is for you.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have never met a more relatable character than Blakley. I too binge watch Greys Anatomy and indulge myself in my favorite DoorDash order when I’m taking a mental day.

I really enjoyed this story. It was extremely realistic. It showed the different aspects of human relationships. We saw grief, love, betrayal and forgiveness. It wasn’t a fairy tale romance but you can feel how deep the love runs. I don’t personally have experience with a loved one seeing the horrors of war, but it seems like the author did a very good job capturing survivors guilt and ptsd.

I love a series that can be read in any order or by themselves. This is book two in the Love Ties us series but it can be a standalone novel. So if you have read the first story it is ok. I really love the playlist at the front of the books. I think they are great companions to capture the essence of the story.
I loved this story, instant connection is so hard to come by but it’s so beautiful. It really is as if that person was made for you. The chemistry between Damien and Cadence jumps off of the page. I enjoyed every minute of the book.

In the Midst of Omens (The Legacy of Gilgamesh Book 1)In the Midst of Omens by Nicole Bailey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was locked into the story from the first sentence. Like many others I’ve never read The Epics of Gilgamesh so I didn’t know what to expect. However, it was an amazing adventure. This is definitely a story for adults. There are trigger warmers in the beginning of the book so definitely take a look at that before you embark on this journey.
The author did a wonderful job with this retelling. You really get to understand the heart and soul of Gilgamesh and Enkidu. I appreciated the politics and the the tactics it took to rule. If you enjoy mythology, fantasy, and epic tales of history you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love fairy tales and this modern twist on classic fairy tales is exciting and fresh. Ashes had a bit of Cinderella in it and this one is loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood. There isn’t an actual wolf dressed as granny in this story but you’ll catch the similarities. So much happened in this story and I don’t want to ruin any details but more than one person finds their love match. I cannot wait for the next one!

This didn’t end like I thought it was going to lol. If you thought anyone was going to have the satisfaction of revenge. You’d be wrong. On the other hand. It’s a great doomsday story. People v. Nature. What happens when we ignore the warning signs that nature is tired of us taking advantage and treating it poorly? How do we survive when the very thing we depend on to live turns against us? Wasabi definitely gives the reader a lot to think about. Hopefully we won’t make the same mistakes.

Sashimi (Evil Sushi #2)Sashimi by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sashimi was a great continuation of Evil Sushi. I liked how it showed all aspects of human nature. Arrogance in thinking we can outsmart and power over everything else, the will to survive, jealousy, grief, etc. I was truly surprised by Sally’s actions this time around. But it goes to show you that everyone is capable of the worst things possible. Aileen coming to terms with her brother predicament and doing what she thinks is best was great. I think if anyone survives this thing it’ll be her, Ned and Rod. The general is ridiculous. This was an entertaining and quick read. I can’t wait for the next part.

These are the important ingredients for a great romance novel and Julie checked every box with this. Finding Love is the second installment of the Clumsy Little Heart Trilogy. Rachel was a fave of mine in the first book and it was great seeing her fall in love again after an out of nowhere breakup. Rachel puts everyone before herself. She’s unselfish and caring and deserves a love that matches what she puts out in the universe and Miguel does just that. The chemistry is blazing off the pages. Definitely a great read.
