Drama, healing and romance
This was a captivating read. The author captures the setting of the family farm accurately and takes the reader on a journey filled with drama, soul-searching, family commitments and romance. Corrie is such a believable character and Aaron is wonderful. Recommend if you love strong female leads and an easily relatable storyline.

This novel is so well written and relatable! We can all think of a time where our faith and futures were tested by rocky paths and murky pasts. I enjoyed the air of mystery and suspense in this book just as much as the romance and drama. Amber Waves of Grace was one that I found myself cozied up with a blanket and my kindle reading the night away until it was far past my bed time and the book was finished! A great read that paced perfectly!

I personally don’t read books like this very often but with the synopsis and beautiful cover I just couldn’t turn this one away. This author is brand new to me and she provided an inspirational story about a family that can make it through anything, incredible character development, a great plot, and so much more that I couldn’t put it down.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book but I wasn’t disappointed. This isn’t just a romance, while that was a large part, there was also some mystery and suspense tied in that really kept your attention while reading.

Corrie came home to take care of the farm since her father is unable to. She doesn’t expect that her farm hand to leave unexpectedly and to find herself in need of help. The last person she expects is Aaron. Corrie has so much on her plate between the farm, her siblings and her parents that she leans on Aaron for support. Just as everything seems to be going the way it should, uncertainty shows up in the form of a stranger needing shelter. What lays ahead for these characters?

I really enjoyed this book! Corrie’s character shows what you do for your family in hard times. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

3.5 stars

Amber Waves of Grace is a heart-warming and emotional quick read. It is a story with challenging times and lurking troubles. It is a second chance romance that will bring out all the feels. Jessica’s story telling is simplistic in its narrative and it is easy to like the characters. It is a clean romance with religious overtones and messages within.

Corrie finds she may have bit off more than she can chew but along with all the unrest, challenges, danger, just to name a few, she really starts to find herself and realise she is stronger than she thought along the way.

If you love clean romance stories you will like this book.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Set in 15th century England Love in the Roses is an engaging and intriguing tale. This book is a stand-alone historical medieval romance story. I found myself drawn in to this world and the main character and her life.

As readers we get a real feel of what life could have been like through TL’s portrayal with vivid details and her passion. The world building and the characters are well written, complex and compelling.

We take a journey back in time with knights and swords, feasts and horses. I enjoyed the banter throughout the story which gave it a more realistic feel.

Isabel’s finds she is to enter into a union with Sir William, the enemy. But not everything is as she thinks. She soon finds out there is much more to a marriage than she thought she would get.

‘Amber Waves of Grace’ is beautiful. A story of second chance love and redemption. Corrie is just trying to help her family with farm and trying to decide which man she is in love with: Aaron or Luke. We also see some holiday miracles. It is an inspirational story that gets you right in the feelers. I love how it is a Christian fiction book. It is clean romance. A very wholesome approach which is also very nice to read. It is a quick read for those weekends that are not booked up. The characters are well-developed. I love the plot. It is very smooth. A truly gifted story that makes you feel good.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Not my kind of book but I’ll still give it 3 stars because it’s NOT terrible. Quick and fast read for me. Has great potential and there’s a book out there for everyone. So still give it a shot and don’t judge the book based from my words. Could use more details regarding the story or even the characters. Reading about corries dad, makes me extremely sad though. Being injured after a accident and not being to do what he used too? It’s not fair and breaks my heart. But In no way am I bashing the author or even this book…but definitely different than what I’m used to reading. Im not a religious person so this is first book I’ve read that, that’s got that in it. Im not sure if the author has other books but I’ll still read them if so 🙂

After her father’s accident, Corrie Lancaster moves back to the family farm just in time to help with the harvest. With a bumper crop of wheat waiting, the farm’s only hired hand quits, leaving Corrie with no choice but to accept the help of her old boyfriend’s older brother, Aaron Tuttle. It seems like the perfect plan until Corrie realizes ex-flame Luke isn’t over her. But even with Luke’s apologies and attempts to rekindle their romance, Corrie can’t forget his past betrayal.

Wading through jealousy was never on Corrie’s to-do list, but as she navigates the choppy waters, she finds herself falling for Aaron’s good looks and charming wit.

Just when Corrie thinks she has everything under control, a stranger seeking shelter comes to the farm, and an old nemesis returns for revenge. As destructive forces align against her, Corrie must decide which man’s love will bring her back to life and restore her faith in herself, her family, and her purpose.

Jessica Berg, a child of the Dakotas and the prairie, grew up amongst hard-working men and women and learned at an early age to “put some effort into it.” Following that wise adage, she has put effort into teaching high school English for over a decade, being a mother to four children (she finds herself surprised at this number, too), bask- ing in the love of her husband of more than fifteen years and losing herself in the imaginary worlds she creates.
