A Christmas to Remember: An Anthology from 5 Prince Publishing

Some of these authors are new to me while some I’ve read books by. These stories are short and sweet. Mistletoe Memories, A Rocky Mountain Romance,Copper Penny Christmas, Merry Mix-ups, Falling for Christmas, Christmas Pizzo, and The Mrs. Clause are all new favorites.

Mistletoe Memories by Bernadette Marie

Gretchen has always had the dream of her own bakery. Down the street from her bakery is the bakery of her ex. She delivers flour to him and as she’s leaving she’s in an accident. The quote I chose for Gretchen is: “I do. It means that every good memory I have, started as a moment under the mistletoe.

Levi has never stopped loving Gretchen. When she’s in an accident he rushes to her side. Then he decides to help her out after the accident. When they find out that their designs are being stolen they work together. The quote I chose for Levi is: “That first time I kissed you under the mistletoe, I thought it was just going to be a friendly kiss. I had no idea the sparks that were set off that night were buried so deep. That moment, in Charlotte’s doorway, I fell in love with you deeper than I already was as your friend.”

A Rocky Mountain Romance by Jessica Mehring

Hank has lived in the small town for a year. He loves it and can’t see wanting to leave for anything. Then he meets Amity and her sister Anne. He wants to help Amity out in whatever way he can. The quote I chose for Hank is: “I’ve lived here for a year now, and I can honestly say these are mostly good-hearted people. Sure, they talk— and sure, you can call it gossip—but it’s because they care. They care about this town, what goes on in it, and the people who live in it.”

Amity was new to town and never really thought of staying long term. She came out to help her sister out and then was going to get back to her life. Then she meets Hank and finds that she can’t stop thinking of him. Will they make it work? The quote I chose for Amity is: “Neither was I. It’s so ridiculous. I mean, I’m embarrassed that I didn’t see right through him. And the man ruined me. But telling the story… it’s like the plot to a terrible novel: Man runs off with assistant and leaves woman nearly bankrupt, and she must start over against all odds.”

Copper Penny Christmas by Ann Swann

Miranda thought she was going to have all she wanted with her boyfriend. Only to find that he’s been flirting with others. Then she finds that he cheated on her. The quote I chose for Miranda is: “It just so happens my own plans have changed drastically over the past few days. I would love to stop in and check on this little man.”

Wil has been to the clinic where Miranda works at. When the dog he adopted passes away he finds that Miranda may just have a pet for him. He finds that he wants to spend more time with her. The quote I chose for Wil is: “We can’t wait to see you tomorrow.”

Merry Mix-Ups by Emily Bybee

Max is asked out by a friend for a blind date. Then he remembers the stories he’s heard of the girl. Only to find that he was mistaking her for someone else completely. Can he fix the mistake before it’s too late? The quote I chose for Max is: “If there’s one thing Grams and Pop taught me, it’s that it takes selflessness and caring to make a marriage work. I just want you to be sure this is what you want, and not just what Becca wants. No judgement, man. I see the way she looks at you. I know she cares about you. But is she the one you want to be with forever?”

Cassi thinks that her friend and old roommate has told Max about the Swan Princess story. Then at the party she finds out that he thinks she stole his watch. Then she finds out what really happened the night of her waking up on the Swan float. The quote I chose for Cassi is: “Hey, it’s a lot. Most people plan their weddings for a year or more. You just have to be the overachiever and do it in a month.”

Falling For Christmas by Amy L. Gale

Natalie is mad when some new guy thinks he can come in like he owns the town. She’s worked hard to keep her family tree farm going. She isn’t going to go down without a fight. She falls for Gabe and can see why everyone likes him. The quote I chose for Natalie is: “Like what, create a ghost town? Don’t you get it? You’re going to make all of us lose our businesses with your standard fees. You come in here with your flashy car, that doesn’t do so well in the snow by the way, and flaunt your designer clothes like we’re all going to fall all over you. Well, you don’t know this town at all. The car didn’t help you out too much did it? And those good looks don’t work either.”

Gabriel is new to the small town and thinks he’s doing right by the town. When he’s cornered by the entire town he seems to break down. He volunteers to be a judge for a friendly competition. The quote I chose for Gabe is: “I’d love to try Vesuvius. What do you say, Natalie? Do you want to go to dinner Saturday night?”

Christmas Pizzo by Emersyn Kane

Valentina is called to come home when her father has a stroke. When she gets there she finds that her crush and his father are waiting for her. She knows his family, but she doesn’t know her history with his family. The quote I chose for Valentina is: “It’s our parents and our sisters. It’s Misty and Karl. It’s finding happiness with one person who doesn’t judge you for what you’ve done or what you do. You know. That one person that supports you, no matter what. That loves you… no matter what.”

Sal is working for his dad now. When he finds out that Valentina is back in town he will find a way to be with her. He will fight for her if he has to and he does exactly like that. The quote I chose for Sal is: “I know, can we wait until tomorrow to figure it all out? For now, I just want to be with you.”

The Mrs. Clause by S.J. Reisner

Abigail is left an inheritance but she has to be engaged by her thirty-fifth Christmas. She thinks of using her ex Luke to get the money but then decides against it. Then she meets Gary and honestly thought her money was gone. The quote I chose for Abigail is: “No buts. You’ve been in a relationship for five years. My longest relationship was with Luke, and why I stayed for eight months is anyone’s guess. Let’s just drop it. There has to be an easier solution to finding the money for the studio.”

Gary is a painter and does well with it. He meets Abigail and can’t keep her off his mind. Then her ex comes in and shakes him up. He didn’t know about the money and thinks that is why she said yes. The quote I chose for Gary is: “I know this is sudden and you’re welcome to think about it, but I can’t stop thinking about you. Every time we’re together it feels so right, like I’ve known you forever. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed spending time with anyone as much as I’ve enjoyed the time I’ve spent with you.”

Highly recommended for Romance lovers.

A Christmas to Remember is a wonderful Anthology From 5 Prince Publishing containing seven romantic holiday stories by some wonderfully talented authors.
These authors all have different styles and approaches to writing; and all the stories are each unique and individual to the author- but they each use the same theme, Christmas, and romance, as their inspiration.
I LOVE everything Christmas, and as all the stories in the anthology are set on and around Christmas, it makes this an even more captivating read, for me.

The Anthology contains:
-Mistletoe Memories By: Bernadette Marie
-A Rocky Mountain Romance By: Jessica Mehring
-Copper Penny Christmas By: Ann Swann
-Merry Mix-Ups By: Emily Bybee
-Falling For Christmas By: Amy L. Gale
-Christmas Pizzo By: Emersyn Kane
-The Mrs. Clause By: S.J. Reisner

All the stories are so engaging and believable- with wonderfully written plots, and well-developed characters. I have read books by several of these talented authors before- but a few of the authors were new to me, so I was excited to not only read the work of the authors I know and love, but also be able to get an introduction to some authors who are new to me and see what they can do. I can see each of these stories making great holiday movies too.
So, settle down for some wonderful reading, which will entice you with heart melting romance.
Happy Reading…

Thank you to all the contributing authors!

This was a story about finding yourself again, but I felt like it could’ve been more in depth. It was a quick read with what could’ve been a great story to tell.
Ray moves back to his hometown to start over and his best friends sister, Alyssa, comes back into his life.

Alyssa’s life has been tragic, with the death of her brother and being in an abusive relationship, but her brothers best friend, Ray, the boy who has always had her heart, makes her see that she can start over.

Ray is a hometown hero. He left to become a boxer. An injury threatens to end his career so he “retires” and heads back home to buy the local eatery they all grew up at. And finds Alyssa in the process.
Will they both get a fresh start or will they stay in the past?

Fight For It by Amy L Gale is an entertaining, quick-read. Ray is a “retired” boxer and Lysa is Ray’s best friend’s little sister. Ray moves back to town to take over The Kracken, a popular restaurant from their youth. Over the years, Lysa was married to jerk, Jarred. He makes life hard for them. Lys and Ray overcome several challenges throughout the story. Can they overcome the biggest? Ray wants to have one more big fight in Vegas? Well-written story with realistic characters make for a quick and exciting rush. Well worth the read. The world needs more stories like this for those that need quick wake ups. I love a book that is romance plus the sport of fighting like boxing. This is my first book I read by Author Amy L Gale and I absolutely loved it! When Ray Wilson, whom was a professional boxer, returns to Sunset Cove to re-open The Kraken Bar & Grill. The real estate agent that he meets to sign all the paperwork is no other then Alyssa, whom he had known since high school. Growing up Alyssa’s brother was Ray’s best friend. After divorcing her abusive husband, Alyssa really tries to build her own business. When Alyssa meets with Ray to sign the paperwork for the bar he bought, spark also fly between Ray and Alyssa. The two really hit it off, until a opportunity for one last fight that Ray is a part of could ruin his left eyesight permanently, and someone is behind the set up of this fight. I just loved this story and I try not to give any spoilers away. This is a quick read but did NOT disappoint!

I really enjoyed this sport romance. The author does a great job with her characters making them relatable and easy to fall in love with. This story is full of first love, memories and danger which all makes for a gripping read.

Ray is a champion boxer. He returns to his home town to retire after an injury to his eye could lead to him being blind. When he takes over the Kraken bar he enlisted the help of his old school friend Lys. Neither of them expected the old flames from their school days to reignite and catch fire but boy is the attraction hot.

However things aren’t all good for the couple with Lys ex husband Jared in the background he is out to destroy the couple and the life they are making together.
When Ray is given the opportunity for one last fight in Vegas he jumps at the chance not realising it is a set up to destroy him for good.
Can Lys make Ray see sense and call off the fight? Can Ray win the fight or will Ray lose his eyesight and the girl he loves chasing a dream thats over?

This is the first book by Gale that I’ve read. This short story will leave you wanting more. This was an amazing page-turner.

Alyssa is helping her crush and brother’s best friend with the marketing of an old restaurant. When her ex causes trouble things don’t go as planned. The quote I chose for Alyssa is: “What do you want from me, Ray? You want me to tell you this is great. You want me to watch you ruin everything you worked for since you got here? It’s not happening. I’m out.”

Ray is back in his hometown. Retiring from his boxing career he decides to open an old hang-out spot. He has a chance to do one more fight, but doesn’t when he finds that Alyssa is right. The quote I chose for Ray is: “I get it. You’re scared. But I’m not that asshole you married. You know me, Lys. You know more about me than any girl I’ve ever been with my whole life. You’ve seen me at my best, at my worst, and everywhere in between. And I’ve never been better than when I’m with you.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

I thoroughly enjoyed this romance and read the book in one sitting as I was hooked from start to finish. Professional boxer Ray “The Wrecker” Wilson has had to retire from the ring due to injury. Ray returns to his hometown of Sunset Cove to buy The Kraken Bar & Grill a former infamous hotspot. Real-estate agent Alyssa Higgins is trying to restart her life having divorced her abusive husband who unfortunately still lives in the town, the same town his family run. Ray and Alyssa meet when he needs her expertise to buy The Kraken, Ray can’t believe he’s face to face with the one girl who was always ‘off limits’ due to her being his best friends little sister. Alyssa is surprised to find the legendary heartthrob is back in town especially as he’s followed by reporters everywhere he goes.
Whilst Alyssa believes Ray just sees her as his best friends sister still, Ray is trying to resist their obvious chemistry especially as they are both grieving for Alyssa’s brother. Just as the couple grow closer Ray has an opportunity to go back in the ring but this decision may change everything. This is a heartwarming romance with a sporting theme, the storyline flows well and has plenty of drama and suspense in the plot to keep readers happily turning the pages. The characters are all well defined and I especially liked the main characters, Ray and Alyssa. The chemistry between the pair really came across in the writing and as they were both likeable and relatable I felt engaged with them and their story. A great short read which I recommend.

This is a quick read. I really enjoyed the story for the first half. The characters and their plight drew me in. I cared about them and wondered what would happen. A Fighter (after forced retirement) coming back to his hometown..reinvesting in the town. Great idea! Then meeting back up with his BF sister. Perfect! Then there is her story of divorce from an abusive ex and learning to stand on her own again. Nicely Done.

The second half was not so good. The story went all over the place. The characters really fell flat and things didnt fit in place. The Story/Characters should be like a puzzle where everything fits together. In here I feel like pieces got put in the wrong place. I think a longer, more in depth look at the characters and story would have been more beneficial. Maybe even a look inside Ray’s head. It just felt rushed at times and the story didn’t match up with the great first half.

Overall I liked the idea and premise of this story.

I loved this book because it was a simple, easy, wholesome read. It was the standard story – small town feel, boy moves back to town a hero/big shot, meets girl who boy has known all his life, boy and girl kindle a romance, girl or boy pushes the other away for seemingly unknown reasons, trouble arises, boy or girl overcomes reasons in order to be with the other, they all live happily ever after… BUT I loved how Amy puts in a second villain character!
The twist that is not really a twist, which becomes a twist again made the story that much more intriguing!

I do feel that the end hit a bit too abruptly and the bow was tied a little too neatly, but overall it was a fun read and I am planning on keeping it in my back pocket for when I need an easy book to make me smile.

Fight for It by Amy L. Gale is a Sunset Cove Novella. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I wasn’t disappointed. Ray, after being forced to retire from boxing, returns to his hometown of Sunset Cove and buys a local bar and grill. Alyssa, Ray’s beat friend’s little sister, is a realtor and helps Ray with The Kracken. They grow closer with as much time as they are spending together but Alyssa still struggles to overcome a lot from her past. Ray thought he was done fighting but is presented with an opportunity to fight again. Will these two fight for each other?

Fight For It is a great novella by Amy L Gale. This was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work but I’m sure I will read more as I really enjoyed Fight For It.
Although this book is only 108 pages the author manages to pack a great deal of content into this short book. I devoured this book in one sitting, not wanting to put it down until I got to the end.
I really loved Ray and Alyssa’s story. I thought at first that this was going to be the typical best friend’s little sister story but it was far from it and that made it all the more enjoyable.
As much as I loved both of Ray and Alyssa’s characters there were times that I really wanted to smack Ray on the head an knock some sense into him.
If you want a quick read that will keep you engaged then Fight For It is the book for you.

Fight for it is the first book that I have read written by this author. This is a cute sports romance story. The characters are strong willed and well written I also like how the main characters play off their quirks. The description of the background and scenes made the story almost feel real.

When Professional boxer Ray “The Wrecker” Wilson when an injury forces him to retire, he returns to his hometown of Sunset Cove to buy the former infamous hotspot, The Kraken Bar & Grill. He is used to winning, both in and out of the ring.
Alyssa Higgins is a real-estate agent and she is finally getting her life back together and staying low-key, is a good start after divorcing her abusive husband whose family runs the town.
So, what happens when Ray and Alyssa run into each other? They both have demons can they overcome them together or will they walk away from each other?
You need to read this story to find out but I do recommend it….

This is a cute, fast read about two people who have always had feelings for each other but neither of them ever said or did anything about it. Alyssa is recently from the town’s “it boy”, Jared, and Ray is a professional boxer. The two cross paths when Ray decides to buy an old restaurant in their hometown. What seems like fate, is almost ruined when Jared tries to get between the two. Overall, I liked this book but I would’ve liked more details about Alyssa’s brother Rick’s accident and a little more drama at the end. I would’ve liked to see Jared have more consequences as well.

I really enjoyed this story, it was easy to read, had a nice pace and flow and great characters too. I love sports romance stories so this one was right up my street! I loved Ray! I really felt for him and everything he went through – boxing was so important to him. Alyssa was such a lovely character too; she had been through a lot as well. I think as soon as these two came together again I could tell there was something. They had a genuine and real connection and a lot of chemistry too!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to other readers.

This was my first book by this author and I LOVED it. A super quick story that didn’t feel rushed or choppy. I read the last word and felt completely satisfied, except loving these characters so much I could have read on for many more pages.

The writing was awesome, had a smooth flow and I did feel transported into the story. I found myself travelling with Lys to Vegas and my heart was pounding and my anxiety was off the charts as I was right there with her.

I completely enjoyed this book, it had it all and this author did an amazing job never making it feel forced or crammed in because of the amount of pages. I love the small town and would love to revisit with more books. Will definitely be reading more from this author!

This was a beautiful written story, full of ups and downs along with the trails and triumphs of this thing we called life. It was a good read, was a fast paced setting, and I really enjoyed the character development I received from reading this wonderful book

I found even the the main male character was so easy to relate to, Ray, He was a strong athlete, he was a boxer , but sadly an injury caused his career to come to a very quick stop. He starts to pick up his life again, going back to his home town and buying a local business that would be good to start up again, Everything seemed easy and off to a good start. Throw in the girl who always held your heart, but was not ethical to chase after as she was your best friend’s sister? Not so easy or productive perhaps. Alyssa had her own trials of life she had gone through, but was trying to move on and basically find her place in the world. I feel she never expected to have Ray come back into her life as he did!

Faith had other plans to for these two souls. Ray’s best friend, as well as Alyssa’s brother, sadly was not in the picture. You could tell it was something heavy for them in both their hearts. Perhaps though, maybe this loss and faith are brining them together in more ways than one? They have to work together and as they spend time together, more walls seem to fall down, and maybe they both needed each other, and they never knew how much they could feel with one another if they just allowed themselves to. Could it be true love if they allowed it? Or will life throw something into the ring that could ruin everything?

It was a very enjoyable quick read. The chemistry with Ray and Alyssa was undeniable. It was a beautiful at times, and yes it was something they both had to work hard for. I was rooting for these two souls the entire book, it was a wonderful read. I seriously recommend reading it, its not one y to miss out on!

Sometimes, you just need a quick little pick me up to renew your view on romance, love, life, and all good things. That’s exactly why I picked this little novella up, and I can tell you, I wasn’t disappointed. As with most people, Ray and Lys (Alyssa) have fought their own demons, experience some turbulence within their relationship, and have the unfortunate circumstance of a shared loss. All of this brings them closer and closer together, and allow them to open their hearts to each other, and to really explore just how far their relationship can take them. My partner caught me smiling, and blushing a few times, and inquired as to what exactly I was reading, if that gives you any indication as to how well this novella is written. Amazing little reprieve from the real world. Thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you, Amy L. Gale!

I enjoyed this sports romance story. This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed and can’t wait to see what is next for her. I enjoyed how her use of details made the story realistic. I also enjoyed how I was pulled into the story from the beginning by the characters. They made the story engaging and hard to put down. They are connectable and bring the story to life on each page. This is a fast paced story that was entertaining and easy to read. This is a story about Alyssa and Ray. What will happen when the two of them meet when he walks into her real estate office? He hires her for some marketing of his business along with the town’s politics but what he gets is a little more than he was expecting. As they fight their passion as they share their grief in a tragedy. What happens to these two you don’t want to miss. Their chemistry and the passion they try to fight is strong. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout the story and what they brought to the story. This is a great romance story that I truly enjoyed. I highly recommend this book.
