I loved this story so much! From the very first chapter and all the way to the epilogue, I was drawn in and hooked. Bailey and Fox are two incredible characters that the reader gets to learn about and fall in love with as they learn to navigate their adventure together. So many different dynamics in the book were done so well and I didn’t want the story to end. Well done Amy Q Barker, this was a fantastic book, with a great romantic story without having to be over the top romance. This appears to be book 1 in the Better Man series and if that’s the case, I cannot wait to read the others!

Bailey is a widow with two teenager daughters, what time do I have for Life let alone a social life but one day will change the whole future.
Bailey is a VP in Havelin and is good at her job but when she has to take a trip to sort out a problem at the factory in St Louis she is surprised at who she is sitting next to.
Fox has had his ups and down, now the CEO of Havelin he is settled and the boys since his divorce, but his luck changes when he is seated next Bailey Grant one of his VP’s and a woman he has admired from a far. As the conversation flows and the chemistry is discovered between the two of them, Fox braves to ask her out which she accepts.
Over the weeks and months the relationship grows and gets stronger with feelings of love but when it comes to the crunch can they both overcome there histories and the stares of the company they will get.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a lovely romance novel about two people having bad histories to then finding the one person they should be with. Straight from the first chapter you get to see in the world of Bailey and fall in love with her instantly. I loved the way that the book had both POV’s but you had a fair few chapters in that persons mind which I think in better than swapping each page it sometimes gives you whiplash.
The character of Fox was brilliant just enough sweetness with the punch of being a strong alpha but not too much. The whole story is just a feel good story and with the secondary characters makes this book a great read. His interaction with his sons is warm and shows he is a great father, also the care he takes with understanding Bailey’s point of views is lovely to read.
I can’t wait to read more from this brilliant author.

This is absolutely one of my favorite types of romance novels; we have our heroine, Bailey, who is successful and hardworking, while still being genuine and relatable. She is also raising her 2 daughters. Fox makes a really sweet and sexy main man, who is a hardworking dad of 2 boys. She and Fox work together, but until now, haven’t really had much interaction, but during a plane ride, sparks fly. I thought all of their interactions were so sweet and adorable. They are two caring and loving people, trying to navigate figuring out their relationship as well as the struggles with working together in a corporate world. This was a fairly quick read, but everything about it just struck the perfect notes. I also loved that it was told through both POV so we could see what both Bailey and Fox were thinking. An absolutely wonderful book for anyone who wants a sprinkle of romance in their lives.

This is the first book that I have read by Amy Q Baker and it will certainly not be my last. This is a very sweet love story between Bailey and the CEO OF HAVELIN (the company that she works for) Fox.
Fox and Bailey meet innocently on a plane trip where they were both on their way to seperate work functions in seperate cities. Enjoying her company Fox gathers the courage to ask her out and they swap numbers.
In some respects it was very slow going, but there was a lot for this couple to work through and the important thing is that they got there in the end overcoming so pretty heavy realistic baggage.
I look forward to reading more from Amy in the future – it’s always great to find another author that I enjoy!

This author knows how to make you fall in love with the characters and the storyline, that’s for sure! What a wonderful read this turned out to be. Truly could not put down!

This book hit me on a few levels. It was so adorable first of all! Talk about second chances after kids! And not only second chances but honestly true first loves. This story is about Bailey and Fox. Their story is electric! Fox has become a CEO of a company that Bailey has worked for, for quite some time. She has worked her way up the ladder so to speak. Finally becoming VP in her department! After her husband passing away, it has taken a lot of time to get passed some things. But by chance her and CEO Fox, end up on a plane ride together and hit it off. It’s like they are old friends. Talking about everything. Anything! Finding common ground in so many ways! Both single parents. Trying to navigate the corporate world, but also be mom AND dad at the same time. Kids are a job in themselves. They need to eat right. Get outside and off their devices! Spend time with what family they have. And most impotently be supported by their parent! Right? Fox isn’t your typical CEO. He was brought in to fix issues and he sole focus it his kids and doing just that. Turning the company around will take a lot of focus. Does he have time for anything else? I found the characters so relatable. The author hooks you in with both of their stories that will put you into some emotions!! You can’t help by feel for all of them! The kids and the trauma the adults have fought through! Defiantly a cute romantic must read!

This is an okay story. I really wanted to like it as I love a workplace romance. This one moves along very slowly and honestly I found myself flipping pages and did not miss anything. Bailey is an intricate character as she has had a difficult past and had kind of become a new woman. I liked the connection between them but again there is a lot of thought processing in their heads thats the author is using to connect the characters to the reader. I am not a fan of too much of that. So this one was a struggle for me. Others might enjoy but to me its just okay. I fo love the cover though!

I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Bailey is a widow who’s raising two teenage daughters and works as VP of Quality at Havelin. Meanwhile Fox is divorced and has two teenage sons and is the CEO of Havelin. When the pair have a chance encounter whilst on a plane journey, they are instantly attracted to one another, and sparks definitely fly. They soon discover that they have a real connection, and despite neither of them looking for romance they both want to take a chance on love. However, relationships between employer and employees in the corporate world is frowned upon and they find their developing relationship has many obstacles for them to overcome. This is a feel-good, uplifting corporate love story which I literally could not put down. I found this was a real page turner with a romantic storyline between two likeable and relatable characters. The descriptive narrative brought the setting to life, whilst the plot had enough drama along with the romance to keep me hooked. The chemistry between Bailey and Fox sizzled off the page and I enjoyed the dual narrative as this enabled me to feel engaged with them both. An enjoyable and engaging read and one which I recommend!

I wasn’t sure what to think when I decided to read this book. I wasn’t sure how the characters were going to relate and if this would be a hidden love affair. This one did not disappoint. I love the fact that the main female character has a career and isn’t shown as some needy girl. That made me want to keep turning the pages and finding out more about her. I also enjoyed the fact that she is mom. That isn’t something that we typically see in romance books. The main male character is also a single dad. This story just melted my heart. I love, love and this book had so much love between them. They had a spark and took a chance. It is such a sweet romance story. It kept me turning page after page because I just fell for the characters. This is a quick read and definitely worth it. I feel that this a true classic romance story that definitely hits different. Bailey dedicated to job and also her two teenage daughters has a run in with the CEO of the company, Fox. He is good looking and his presence is so strong. Everyone always wonders about him and his personal life, but love is the last thing that Bailey is looking for. Fox has noticed Bailey in the past, she is beyond beautiful. But he has gotten a chance to get to see her for more then just beauty, she is so much more. He feels that he understands her as he is a father of two boys and wanting to be a good parent and succeed with work. Can these two find a happy ending? Can they date while working for the same company???
I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were strong and so well developed. There was not anything about them that I didn’t like and I loved that the children of Bailey and Fox had a part in the book. I cannot wait to read more in the series and more from this author.

I loved this book so much, it was honestly such a wonderful read and one of those books that you wish you could start all over again and experience again for the first time. I loved the characters, they were so relatable. Bailey was such a wonderful character, so strong and independent and I really felt a connection with her and this isn’t something that happens a lot for me. I thought the author did an amazing job with her character development. I really liked Fox as well and I admit I’d probably have fallen for his charm too! A really sweet story and one that I absolutely loved reading. I would definitely recommend this book to other readers.

This was a cute story. I enjoyed Fox and Bailey’s development. Both characters had growth they needed to make in order to move forward. I liked that the characters were older and easier for my demographic to connect with than twentysomethings. It was cozy and a quick read.

Bailey and the CEO: A Corporate Love Story is the first book in the A Better Man Series. This is a wonderfully written Women’s Fiction sweet romance that I absolutely loved reading. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely a fan. Her style of writing and attention to detail along with fully developed, complex , yet relatable characters make for an epic story. Let me just say how beautiful and relaxing the cover is I could sit there for hours staring out across that pond. Bailey is a strong independent woman who is the VP of Quality ,a widow and raising two teenage daughters. Bailey is good at her job she pours her heart and soul into it. She feels like she is missing something but not sure she’s ready for dating or has the time until Fox and their evening together. Fox is a divorced man raising two teenage boys and the CEO of Havelin. He notices Bailey and how beautiful and smart she is but when a plane ride together and him asking her out things definitely going to change. These two have a lot in common and their romance is sweet . Being in a relationship with the CEO is more complicated than one might think. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Im looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Bailey is juggling her dedication to her work and being a single parent to two girls. She goes with the flow and does her best, even when she feels she is lacking. A chance moment though has Bailey on a plane with Fox Goodman, her companies CEO.
Fox Goodman can’t say he has never noticed Bailey, she is stunningly beautiful. Being next to her on a plane he takes the chance to get to know her and he likes everything they discuss. Fox being the father of two boys he understands more than most how she feels juggling work and family. Taking a chance he asks her out and she accepts, with so many obstacles in their path will they be able to find their happiness?
I truly enjoyed this book. I felt like a bystander watching these wonderful characters fall for one another. Bailey was such an intriguing character and I loved the way she was with Fox. Fox who has a ton of self confidence is somewhat awkward with Bailey in a really sweet way. The kids, I liked that they were a big part of the story and that they had unique personalities. Will be reading more from this author.

It’s always pleasant to find a story that is about more mature older people. Doing what I do, I tend to read too many YA books, so this was a sweet threat. Watching the relationship develop between Bailey and Fox was kind of a hidden treasure. She noticed him (and his looks) but was shocked that he knew her name. I was tickled how it all changed when they bumped into each other on the plane ride to Detroit. From their the adventure began. it’s sweeto women’s fiction that is enjoyable and a bit of a page turner as they try to keep it secret so they don’t get into trouble. Might be breaking HR rules? You’ll have to read to find out. This author does such a wonderful job of writing so that it feels real and relatable. Give it a shot.

I enjoyed reading about Bailey’s and Fox’s story. You can clearly tell that Amy has spent some time working in the corporate end of businesses. She wrote this story with working women in mind and their daily struggles to make ends meet. Bailey has a lot of things going on for her. She is struggling with being a widow and a mom of 2 teenagers. She meets Fox and is not phased by him and his charm. He catches Bailey’s eye and tries everything to get her attention. The balance between story and romance and spice was amazingly well done. I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story and I can’t wait to read more by Amy!

I really enjoyed this book! It is an alternating point of view, but not chapter by chapter, more like by section. Bailey, one of the main characters, is in her late 30s, a widow, raising two teenage girls, and is one of the VPs at her company. She is likeable and so real. She is doing really well in work and life until a few brushes with the CEO of the company. He is handsome and has brushed by her and sent sparks through her body. They end up on the same plane and sitting next to each other. Bailey was rushed and almost missed the plane and then was overwhelmed and nervous to be sitting next to Fox, the CEO. Fox is a divorced dad of two teenagers and spends a lot of time at work and the rest with his boys, but Bailey has caught his eye on more than one occasion. Fox is handsome and also a really likable character, a good man. Bailey starts to relax when talking about work and they enjoy talking for the two hour flight. When they are walking in the airport Fox asks her out, clumsily because he hasn’t dated much since his divorce. They both have so many questions: Will they be allowed to date? Will dating be worth the trouble and work it will take with HR? Will they both be able to overcome some issues from their past? They decide to give it a go in secret and the sparks fly. This book is more romance than spice and was a quick page turner. The author is working on a series and I can’t wait to read more!

From the title of this book, I expecting a nice romance story that was fairly superficial without much depth. However, I quickly realised this book was so much more than that. The perspective of middle aged female in a corporate world was so well portrayed and convincing. It gives such a real insight and feel about a situation a lot of the readers will have experienced. For me it meant I connect with the main character even more. I loved the story overall and I thought it was absolutely perfect for the characters. It was well written and the kind of story I became completely immersed in. This is a fantastic story from start to finish that I thoroughly enjoyed.

4.5 stars Women’s fiction romance book Bailey and the CEO is the first book in the A Better Man series by Amy Q. There are so many stories out there and it’s not until you have clicked on them that you realise, they are written for YA’s. To say I am a bit sick of so many YA stories is an understatement. So, it was a nice change of pace to get stuck into something written for women of a little bit older age. I really enjoyed Amy’s book Lap Baby and hoped this one would be just as good, and I was not let down. Bailey and the CEO is a multilayered well-crafted story where the characters are well developed and felt real, relatable, likable and easy to connect with. Bailey is driven and highly successful in her job. Even though she shouldn’t she discovers that there is more than one thing that makes her Boss even more attractive. Fox has always known that Bailey is beautiful but until they really connected, he didn’t realise just how special she is. This was a great read and one I would highly recommend to other readers.

How beautiful and serene is this cover !? When you look at it , it feels like you are sitting with each of the characters and you’re listening to their story you feel their heartache and anguish ….
What really hit me is that this story is loosely based on true events and that in fact there really is a policy where children under the age of 2 were in fact on parents laps and in case of emergency they had to be placed in the floor .., I know as a mom I’d want to cling to my baby and ensure that he / she feels safe in my arms I cannot even begin to imagine the anguish these woman went through …
So we follow the story of the 3 survivors , 20 years later . Julie , the flight attendant . Paige , the only baby to survive . Marie who survived but her baby didn’t and has blamed Julie for her loss .
We follow how each of the survivors had to deal with remorse , regret , resentment , grief and trauma . While there is alot of sadness there was also healing , redemption , forgiveness and moments where I wonder if I could walk away like these women did … this is one of these reads I want every woman to read 📚❣️
I quite liked this one, it follows Julie, Marie, Terry & Paige 20 years after a plane crash. Page really wants to move on but Julie can’t forgive herself for what she did on that flight. She has kept in touch with Paige over the years trying to pay penzance I guess. Paige doesn’t really want to stay in contact with Julie, as it’s a constant reminder of what happened but she does because she knows it helps Julie. We learn how each survivor has coped or not coped with the aftermath and how they’ve lived their lives afterwards and not everyone has dealt with it well. This was beautifully written and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

I was very invested in the book from the start because it draws you in immediately. I also felt connected since I am personally familiar with the area in which Paige lives. I smiled with how accurate the description of Paige’s hometown and job and past times and how they resonated with me also growing up in a small town.
This book has some amazing lessons and really shows the ways different individuals deal with trauma and showed the separate perspectives and struggles after the plane crash. It is a nice reminder that what you believe is important may not hold the same value to someone else and that people process things uniquely. Grief and loss from different ages and points of view is both heart breaking and thought provoking. How life does (or doesn’t) move on after loss is a real thing that should be discussed more openly. There is no one-size-fits-all reaction to trauma or loss.

This is such a fantastic story. However, it is such an emotional one to read. Amy Barker does a great job making the whole thing seem so real. This story focuses on Lap Babies, those children under the age of 2 who sit on their parents lap and the aftermath of a plane crash. This plot was so interesting to me. This story definitely focuses on the different people impacted in a trauma and how they all learn to cope. Also, the guilt that accompanies being a survivor. This is an absolutely fantastic story that I completely recommend. You are pulled directly into the story and I was left wondering how I would feel and act if I was in the situation.
This tale of three women facing life after a tragedy is wonderful and horrible. Each having to find their way in the world after, each having to figure out how to live life after. What does that even mean?
Julie, the flight attendant, has to find purpose in her life after fighting a fight to change the rules that no one wants to change. She also has to manage to live after following protocol, but that doesn’t take away the guilt.
Paige, the toddler, has to figure out who she is while living under the shadow of the tragedy. The physical remnants of the accident will always remind her but will they also keep her from moving forward?
Marie, the mom, has to determine who she is after losing part of herself in the accident. Filling her life with kids’ activities, chores, errands, and stuff doesn’t fill the hole, but is she missing out on what is really important? Marie needs to focus on the life she has in front of her, her husband and three kids, not what is missing.
Wonderful storytelling that weaves the connections and tears in these women’s lives.

I picked this book up because the cover was gorgeous, and the name intrigued me. After reading the synopsis I knew I would love this book, and I was right. This was such an emotional rollercoaster and took turns that I wasn’t expecting at all. I definitely sat on the edge of my seat throughout this entire book. My heart broke, I cried, I yelled, and I smiled along as each person told their perspective of that tragic day. I don’t want to give any important details away, so I will just say that you should definitely give this one a chance. You won’t regret letting it touch your heart and give you a new way to look at events in your life. I highly recommend this book!
What a moving story! I tend to be fascinated with perspective stories and how developmentally how the events affect their mindset as well as alter their decisions and thought process there after. This story does those aspects justice as the stories of three surviving women of a plane crash, have intertwined their lives. A flight attendant during the tragedy, Julie was given orders on that day and the guilt she carries from her decision on doing so. A mother with her lap baby, Marie, has been plagued with making the right decision and affecting the outcome of her family life. Then lastly one of the surviving lap babies, Paige has been coming to terms with her life even since those day’s events and bringing her own life together. Amazing read!

Lap baby by was just as the title says, super emotional. I am a first time reader of author Amy Q. Barker. After reading the synopsis I knew the book was going to be an emotional ride but It was way more than I expected. It was making me tear just like grey’s anatomy does 😭. It was sooo good the author really knows how to jerk your chain, and pull you in wanting more. I really enjoyed getting to see all the different povs on how they were living after the crash and how it affected them. I really really really recommend reading this story and I know it will be a reread for me.
