My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I related to this story completely. Having a type of man that I date repeatedly, get hurt, and wonder what I am doing wrong. Bree decides to make a check list to date differently and find her happy ever after. Will that be enough? Will her true love be Nate? No, that can’t be, he is just like the others. Will her true love be Steven? He is different, but will he make her heart flutter? I felt all the emotions right along with Bree and rooted as she found the path to her HEA.

Tickety Tock (Wicked Warriors MC Arizona Chapter) by Manda Mellett – Review by Angela Packard

Tickety Tock: Wicked Warriors MC Arizona ChapterTickety Tock: Wicked Warriors MC Arizona Chapter by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author has become one of my favorite authors of all time. I had never read an MC book before picking up one of hers and now I wait anxiously as each one comes out.
This was a little different than what I am used to, with a paranormal twist, but since that is a favorite genre of mine, I didn’t mind at all. Dwarf and Raven don’t find love at first sight but when they do notice each other the chemistry is hot. The ups and downs, twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole book. Thank you so much to this author who puts so much into her books and keeps us readers coming back for more!!

Witch Switch (Bewitch Me Book 2) (in Midnight Magic Anthology) by Louisa Bacio – Review by Angela Packard

Midnight MagicMidnight Magic by Gina Kincade
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I haven’t read the whole collection, but Witch Switch really took me for a ride. We meet Cheyenne and Rafe. Cheyenne doesn’t want her magic much to the chagrin of Rafe’s family. Since he is already promised to another witch, Meridith, they don’t think Cheyenne should matter much anyway. Will Meredith go after Cheyenne when she finds out Rafe does not want to marry her? Will Cheyenne be able to call upon her magic to help them? How far will a scorned lover go to keep them apart and can they survive the storm about to be thrown at them?
I really enjoyed the writing of this author and will be adding some of her other books to my TBR pile.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really love this series of books. Unbirthday gifts should be a normal thing. I read this book with my 6 year old and I truly enjoy the conversations that it opens between us. I like to ask her what would she be afraid to hear if she could hear others thoughts. What kind of problems would her rock help her solve. This is a great story to read with your child and explore ideas that may not normally just come to us.

Trey is a mafia surgeon? Every mafia needs someone that can stitch up all the collateral injuries that happen during the normal business of a mafia family. Trey gets called to help a kidnapping victim, but who could expect the sizzling chemistry occurring between them? The danger and unexpected twists and turns have me in love with this series. This book can be read as a stand alone book, but you do catch a glimpse of Trey earlier in the set.

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Angela Packard

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance, #3)The Fighter by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This has become one of my favorite authors, though this is the first book in this series I have read. There are parts of the story that are for mature audiences only. Juliet and Gage meet in an unconventional way, an attempted rescue that was not a rescue after all. Neither thought they would ever see each other again.
Their paths crossed again at an underground cage fighting event. Juliet’s roommate, Ten, was fighting to hopefully earn money for their rent. Twists and turns and some very steamy turns later…..I felt like I was in the book right there with the characters. This author does a great job of drawing you in and making you forget that you are in a fantasy world and life is going on around you.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vandana is a CEO of a PR firm and her marriage has just ended. Morgan is a PR’s nightmare and a playboy. These two independent people are in for the ride of their lives. They had chemistry that steamed off the pages. The story was well written and I connected to the characters right away. I loved how the destinations that I never thought about visiting were brought to life and made me rethink that whole getting a passport thing.

Set during the time of the real Casket girls in New Orleans, Greer, finds herself in a strange area with a man she is supposed to marry? Theron chooses Greer to be his food, but is that all she is going to be? Can they save each other? The twists and turns kept me glued to the page till the end. Waiting impatiently for the next book, please.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have really been into books that I can just relax and escape from the world for a bit. This was an awesome book just for that purpose! Angie left Blade as she felt that was the only way to protect him, imagine her surprise when he reappears in her life as her new boss! Can they communicate and have a second chance at love? I fell in love with the characters and the writing kept me giggling. Great book for reading on an afternoon at the beach.

The Last Cabin Girl: A totally gripping thriller full of twistsThe Last Cabin Girl: A totally gripping thriller full of twists by Tom Swyers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by this author. It won’t be the last. This story was unpredictable and left me guessing to the end. A body shows up near Josie’s cabin, she is the first to be suspected. She is trying to protect her children by divorcing her abusive husband and clearing her name of a murder she didn’t commit. Who can she trust? Is everyone who they seem to be? I enjoyed that it was set in current times with the start of Covid-19 and the fear and confusion we all felt.

This book had the things that I love and needed on a rainy gloomy day. Romance, humor, beloved characters that we already know and love. This is the first book in a new four book series, one for each season. I enjoyed this short story and it made my day, this author never fails to engage me in the characters and root for the happy ending.

Saving Marvel (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation Book 4)Saving Marvel by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author has become one of my favorites in the last year after stumbling across her. I love her MC stories, the grittiness, the real emotions, the ups and downs in the stories.
This is the story of Marvel and Virginia. Their relationship is forged during a bank robbery they were both unfortunate to be caught in the middle of. Feeling safe to share their secrets as they would never see each other again, right, or would this forge a relationship that they can’t avoid? Can they each learn to trust the opposite sex again? Another amazing story by this author with great main characters and a supporting cast that I just love to catch up with again.

The Know-It-All Pencil (Invisible Magic Wand)The Know-It-All Pencil by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read this book with my 6-year-old daughter and we enjoyed this fun little book. We liked the way it ended as we had a great discussion about what else the pencil would write. I liked the openness of the ending as it did open the floor for us to talk. Would we want a know-it-all pencil? It might be fun to solve the puzzle of what it is trying to tell us one word at a time.

Class Clown (Ghost Girl Series) by Allan Evans – Review by Angela Packard

Class ClownClass Clown by Allan Evans
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I first took notice of this book when I saw the cover. Reading the blurb on the back I knew I needed to read it. Abbey can see ghosts and I will be the first to admit that I am addicted to the show “Ghost Whisperer”. Going to a circus with her family, she runs into some uneasiness with people but what follows is even worse. She is seeing ghost clowns at her new high school. Her friends are going missing. Can Abby help? Is she the reason? The 80’s nostalgic soundtrack is still playing in my head.
This is the second book in the Ghost Girls Series. I have not read the first one but did not feel like I was missing anything. I am curious to go back and read how it started but is a want not a need.

Until there was youUntil there was you by G. Colgrove
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by this author, but they are going on my favorites list. Regan is the first in her family to graduate high school and isn’t really surprised that no one in her family is there to support her. Jeremy works for the family business and is ready to take it over. Poor girl meets rich boy and it is love at first sight. Sounds easy enough, then real life hits. Can these two see past their issues and social standings to make it work? I loved the chemistry between these two and was rooting for them from the first look. Thank you author for letting me live in a different world even for a short time.

Vampire stories are my heart. This is the first book I have read by this author but will not be the last! Sam, a Navy SEAL, and Layla, a vampire hunter. Two people that should not be together, when tragedy arises, and they have to work together, can they resist their natural instincts? The intensity between the two and how well they work together is a must read! I am looking forward to seeing what is in store for these two next.

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series never disappoints, and in this book we get a fresh perspective on the mafia from Luc and Summer who didn’t grow up in the mafia. Summer and Luc have a one night stand, to find out the next morning he is her new boss. Oops. So many twists and turns, laughs and tears. I recommend this series to anyone looking for a new genre or just like a thrilling romance. This can be read as a stand alone book but knowing the background of the Chicago mafia family does help. Book 6 coming soon, I am so excited.

Seductively Yours (Titans of Manhattan Book 3) by Anise Storm – Review by Angela Packard

Seductively Yours (Titans Of Manhattan, #3)Seductively Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the Titans of Manhattan series, and it is just as steamy as the first two. Rhyann’s dream of dancing with a scholarship to a renowned Ballet school is coming true but can she afford the rising costs of moving to New York? Out with her roommate, Rhyann has an encounter with a gentleman she had never met before. Expecting to never see each other again, they are surprised when she applies to a club Mason owns. Will he hire her? Do they have a chance for any kind of relationship if he does hire her?
This author can write chemistry between two characters that jumps off the page at you. The kind of chemistry most of us only dream about. I happily pick up any book by this author, knowing I will not be disappointed.

The Thunderbird Academy Trilogy by Valia Lind – Review by Angela Packard

The Thunderbird Academy TrilogyThe Thunderbird Academy Trilogy by Valia Lind
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

All three books in one box set, means I didn’t have to wait to read books two and three. This was a very enjoyable read. Maddie, is starting her second year at Thunderbird Academy. There are many new kids at school this year due to the Ancients threatening their world again; her father is missing; and there is very little to no contact with home. Aiden is a shifter who is thrown into being Maddie’s defense trainer. The chemistry between these two is smoking hot: the shared looks, the taunting, the energy. Can Aiden and Maddie become more and learn from each other?
There were small glimpses into the events that happened before this series started. I was happy to find that there are books before this. I can’t wait to get my hands on them to learn where this story really started.

I normally love to read kids books with my 6-year-old, but she wasn’t home when I came across this book. I can’t wait for her to get home and take a bath so I can show her a few magic tricks. She doesn’t always want to learn about science, but she loves magic. I am also going to read this book to her as I know it will encourage and stimulate her creative mind. Thank you to this author for making this book entertaining and educational. Not to mention she has so many more books I am looking forward to exploring.

This is the first book in the Mixed Emotions series and also the first book I have read by this author. This was such an emotional read for me. Sophie and Gil are both in the acting industry and have been friends for a long time. Finishing up a movie together, they find out that they are each attracted to the other and take that next step. They go to France to meet Gil’s family and what a ride from there. Can they overcome their issues and make it work? Will Sophie’s insecurities ruin everything? I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This is the first book I have read by this author, but I am adding her to my favorites list. The last two weeks have been an absolute roller coaster for me, and this book gave me the laughter I needed. I have always wanted a penguin, but a cigar smoking octopus wouldn’t be so bad either.
Lockwood’s whole life changes with one nasty tasty gumball. His best friend Brix helps him to navigate the magic within him. This is a MM romance, and I LOVE LGBTQ positive stories.

This is the third book in the Powder River Pack series though this is the first one I have picked up. It can be read as a stand alone book. I didn’t feel lost, but definitely want to go back and read the other two to build on the pack I am beginning to know.
We meet Brandon and Macy in this story. Brandon is out celebrating his last night before heading off into the military. Macy’s taken out of the state for a night of kicking up her heels and letting loose. What can it hurt? Brandon and Macy feel a pull towards each other and have an incredible night together. Was that all it was? When Brandon comes back, can he find Macy? I was engaged in this story from the beginning and am glad I picked up this author.

Bella-An Appalachian Love Story & Jagged Dawn-Logan's BeginningsBella-An Appalachian Love Story & Jagged Dawn-Logan’s Beginnings by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Two stories in one, both prequels to the Logan McKenna Mystery series. Bella: An Appalachian Love Story, I loved reading about the hardships of a time so long ago. Being raised by her grandfather, which I can relate to as my grandmother raised me, Norah, finds happiness in the things her Aunt Leila taught her medicinally and her grandfather taught her musically. To be given a gift of a $7.00 violin from the Sears catalog was an amazing for Norah. I loved the way the story went from past to present, giving so much background and history.
Jagged Dawn: Logan’s beginnings, we meet Logan McKenna, the great granddaughter of Norah. Can Logan fight through all the ups and downs and have some new beginnings? And what is in the mysterious package?
I love the strong characters in these two prequels and cling to the fact that we can prevail through anything.

And when we do talk, it feels like there was no time between conversations. I was biting my nails through some of this book, hoping and wishing for the best outcome for all.

I will be able to taste more authors and get different viewpoints about Eastport General. This is a contemporary romance, with lots of steam. Emily is a nurse finishing up school that works at the same hospital as Dr. D. Rumors run rampant about the sexy doctor and his one-night stands. Can Emily let down her guard and can Dr. D fall in love? Easy, funny, loving read. Can’t wait to read more books in this series.

Journeys Through Collection: Volumes 1-3 by James Talisman – Review by Angela Packard

Journeys Through Collection: Volume 1-3Journeys Through Collection: Volume 1-3 by James Talisman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is not my normal genre but decided to give it a whirl. I have a hard time keeping the universes cohesive in my head, luckily there is a helpful guide at the beginning of the book. I can get lost in a romance book, this one really made me think.
Someone from every universe got the same message from an all-knowing power, “I am sorry, but I must leave you for awhile.” They were all told to rely on their teachings and meditation helped them do this. They make their own futures, and with a war brewing, which side will win? Makes me wonder, what messages would I receive or find if I took the time to mediate and reflect? What else is out there? Could there really be parallel universes?
I look forward to the next book, thank you James Talisman, for spinning a tale that made me dig inside myself.
The second book in the Journeys Through series picks right up where the first book ends. It was an exciting book filled with danger, treasures, travel, time travel, and an ultimate supreme that isn’t communicating.
I had problems following all the characters the same as I did in the first book, but luckily in the beginning of the book is a list of the characters and which universe they belonged to. My issues following the characters didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book. Both books in this series really made me think outside the box about what I believe. Why can’t there be more than one universe? Why can’t one supreme being be in charge of them all? These books made me think in ways I never have before.
