What a read! This book is a romantic comedy but it’s got its fair share of twists.

What to say about this book. I don’t even want to say too much because this is just a book you have to experience. It’s got relatable characters, humor, and twists you don’t expect. I couldn’t put it down. I HAD to find out how everything was going to play out. I highly recommend giving this book a read!

Cruel Hate (Hidden Valley Elite Book 5) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Cruel Hate: A College Sports Romance (Hidden Valley Elite #5)Cruel Hate: A College Sports Romance by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is book 5 of the series. This is the first part of Phoenix and Aspen’s duet but Cruel Start should be read before this one. I have loved every minute of this series and this book is no different.

Phoenix and Aspen can’t seem to communicate without fighting. Which is pretty inconvenient when they are experiencing something they need to communicate about. I’m not going to say much about what happens in this book because I don’t want to give anything away but seriously, read it!

It is so well written. The characters are great, even though their behavior sucks sometimes. I was hooked from the beginning and can’t get enough of this series. There is so much angst and feeling you get sucked into the world! I highly recommend!

This book is a young adult/ new adult romance. It was such a good read!

Mina and Wesley are the best of friends until one day he’s gone with no notice. A lot has changed for Mina since she was the bullied kid in elementary school. It’s some kind of luck that Wesley ends up at Mina’s high school. They can’t believe it but they aren’t the same kids they once were. Can they get back the relationship they once had or is it gone forever?

This was a very well written story. I was pulled in almost immediately and couldn’t put it down. You really feel for the characters and their experiences. It’s very relatable even if it’s been awhile since you’ve been in high school. I really enjoyed this one.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I loved it!!

Ava has known the King’s her whole life. That’s what happens when you live on the property and your dad works for them. Theo has been her best friend for as long as she can remember. Theo has feelings for her but naturally Ava is oblivious. It doesn’t help that she’s got a crush on Matthias, the oldest King boy. She just wishes she knew why he treated her like crap. Cue a snowstorm that strands Ava and Matthias alone together for a couple days. Never in her wildest dreams did she think anything would change between them. She finds out Matthias has feelings for her and everything changes from there. With no warning, Ava’s dad sends her away to live with her aunt. Five years is a long time but now everyone is back together again. Will Matthias be happy to see her or will the one time be all they have?

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were so well written and there was a lot of feeling. The book grabs you and you can’t put it down until you figure everything out! I love it!

Complicated Choices by Risa Nyman – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Complicated ChoicesComplicated Choices by Risa Nyman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I’m so glad I did! This is a standalone novel.

Claire has the weight of the world on her shoulders. It’s her senior year and she’s got a lot of decisions to make. One thing she shouldn’t have to do is take care of her baby brother. She also shouldn’t be worrying about her mother and taking care of the house. She should be having fun with her friends and living up senior year. When he uncle gets involved, it seems like the problems will be solved. However, he places a pretty steep condition on his assistance. Put Harry up for adoption. Claire is not about to let her family be torn apart so while it seems like everything is in despair, Claire gears up for a fight with the help of some friends. What lengths would you go to to keep your family together?

This book was tough to read in the sense that you just know so many kids and teens are faced with the same or worse issues. It was very engaging. I was very impressed with Claire’s growth. At the beginning, she didn’t seem to care too much about her brother or having to take care of him. While she still resented being his sole caretaker, she definitely bonded and attached to him by the end of the book. The characters were well written as were the dynamics between everyone. I definitely suggest this book!

Sage Advice by Cori Cooper – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Sage AdviceSage Advice by Cori Cooper
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is a standalone coming of age story. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author but it did not disappoint.

Pyper has all the answers. Just ask her. She is a very positive, happy girl. However, the prospect of prom does not make Pyper very happy. In fact, the girl with all the answers knows prom needs to be cancelled. Through the story, Pyper learns more about herself and starts to realize, maybe she doesn’t have all the answers after all. How does senior year turn out for Pyper and her friends? Find out!

This was a very well written story. The character growth and development was on point. Pyper is a relatable character. I’m sure any one of us could relate to Pyper at one point or another. So glad I gave this book a chance!

Cruel Start (Hidden Valley Elite) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Cruel Start (Hidden Valley Elite #4.5)Cruel Start by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is a prequel within the series. It introduces Aspen and Phoenix and sets up their story before their duet. It was a quick read and I read it in one sitting but it was good!!

Aspen is new in town. She’s not sticking around long though because she’s off to Thane for college. She meets Phoenix at a party and decides to take a risk other than cliff diving. Phoenix feels a pull toward Aspen and now that she’s pregnant, he’s going to step up unlike his own father. He doesn’t have time for or want a relationship but he’s going to be in his kids life. Having Phoenix involved might be the biggest risk Aspen takes.

This was a fast read but it sets up Aspen and Phoenix’s story very well. I can’t wait to read their duet!

Grand Slam (Ground Rule Book 3)Grand Slam by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book three of the series. It can be read as a standalone but you don’t want to miss this series.

Heath has everything he could want. Except someone to share his life with. Of course there is one person he’d like to get to know more but she’s not his biggest fan. Another meeting between Heath and Grace may just change her mind though. Not sure that a relationship could work between them, Grace tries to push him from her mind. What will happen between these two?

This is such a good book. Much like all the other books by Bree Kraemer that I’ve read. You won’t be disappointed. It’s well written and the characters are great. You won’t want to put it down!

Brutal Nights (Hidden Valley Elite Book 4) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Brutal Nights (Hidden Valley Elite #4)Brutal Nights by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is book four of the series. This is the conclusion to Damon and Skylar’s story. You have to at least read book 3 before diving into this one. I could NOT put this book (or any of the series for that matter) down. I read it in a day!

Damon and Skylar have run into some road blocks. Gia is now privy to their secret and she’s not happy. Gia uses her newfound popularity to dump on Skylar and she’s decided the only way to right the wrongs is to take what Gia dishes out. Damon isn’t willing to go down without a fight though.

This book was a great conclusion to Sky and Damon’s story. The characters are great. You can see the growth Damon has went through since the beginning of the duet. Gia is not my favorite person. Her character decline was so well written, I still don’t like her. This book is so good! Definitely recommend the series.

A Toast for Laurent (Vine Valley, #1): A Small Town Fake Relationship RomanceA Toast for Laurent (Vine Valley, #1): A Small Town Fake Relationship Romance by Theresa Paolo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is the first of the series. It’s also the first book I’ve read by this author. It was a good read. If you love second chance romance, this is for you.

Phoebe and Laurent make a pact. If neither are married by the time they are 40, they marry each other. That was, of course, before Phoebe left and broke Laurent’s heart. Now she’s back wanting Laurent to hold up his end of the pact. As hesitant as he is, he agrees but there is a condition. Phoebe can’t fall in love with him. Laurent isn’t sure he could handle that a second time.

This was such a good read. The characters are so relatable in terms of letting fear influence choices and decisions. It was a well written story that pulls you in and you can’t wait to see how it unfolds! I highly recommend!

Sacrifice Bunt (Ground Rule Book 2)Sacrifice Bunt by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book two of the series. Each book can be read as a standalone but honestly both books so far have been really good so I recommend both!

Zara doesn’t do relationships. She has her career and her no strings attached approach to “relationships”. Noah poses an interesting challenge though. That being, he’s been attracted to her since he found her naked on his couch. Zara, however, just needs to convince herself that she can’t stand him and doesn’t want him. Can Noah be patient enough to win her over or will he get the message Zara is trying to send?

I really enjoyed this book. I’m not surprised though because the first one was good too! This book has just the right amount of push and pull between the characters. You quickly get invested in the story and can’t wait to see how it plays out. I highly recommend!

A Way Out (Rock Star Book 2)A Way Out by Tami Lund
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book two of the series. It can be read as a standalone. It’s the first book I’ve read of this series and now I definitely need to go read book one!

Maria is finally free of her unhappy marriage. The only problem, she has no where to live. Money isn’t the issue, she just doesn’t have a plan in place. Maria decides she needs some time with her sister. However, when she gets to her sisters house, the only person she finds is Oz. Figuring they are both going to the same place, Oz offers to go with her to the wedding. There is instant attraction between Oz and Maria. The only way to complicate things? Maria offers to finance his band. Now she’s his boss and they are walking a thin line.

This book sucked me in and I couldn’t put it down! Who doesn’t love rock stars? This book has some angst, all the chemistry, and all the emotion! It was such a good read! I need to read more!!

Acting Counsel (Kings of Screen, #3)Acting Counsel by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 3 of the series but it can be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel like I missed anything in the story. It was so good though that I plan to go back and read the first two.

Catrina is level headed. As an attorney, she is great at keeping things professional. That is until her celebrity fling ends up being a client. There is a strict rule about not sleeping with clients. They are certainly going to test that rule. Nathan has everything he could want. Until he meets Catrina. He knows she’s off limits but that doesn’t change anything.

There is so much chemistry between these characters that it’s hard to read and not root for them even if they are supposed to be off limits. The book is so well written, I couldn’t get enough! I feel like I devoured it so quickly! Definitely going to read the other books in the series.

This is a good book for kids who enjoy the adventure and mystery aspect. It gives off Harry Potter vibes and that’s always a win. Now that I’ve read it I’m going to recommend it to my son! Can’t wait to see the remainder of the series!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book of the series. It can be read as a standalone but it references characters and some things that happened in the first two books. Honestly, the whole series is so good you should just start at the beginning.

Gia wants a memorable senior year. Best year ever and all that. Sky, as Gia’s best friend, wants to support her and help her achieve whatever it is she wants to do. Sky doesn’t realize that Gia’s list includes Damon. She’s not happy about it but she does the only thing she can think of and that is ask Damon for a favor. Damon is intrigued by Sky and the best way to get to her is to help her out. What could go wrong?

I absolutely loved this book!! I can’t wait for the next book. It was so well written. The characters are great. You can really feel the turmoil Sky feels she’s in regarding her feelings about Damon. I couldn’t read this book fast enough!

This book is book one of the series. I haven’t read a bad book by this author and this book is no exception.

Celia broke Kyle’s heart. She didn’t want to but she needed too. Now that they’re back in each other’s lives, it’s time to tell the truth. Celia knows the truth will change everything. Kyle has never been able to get over Celia but will what she has to tell him ruin everything?

This book is very well written. It pulls you in from the very beginning and you just want to keep reading to find out how it will end. You also don’t want it to end! It’s an emotional roller coaster but it pays off in the end. So so good!

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. This isn’t my usual go to as far as genres and it still isn’t my cup of tea however, this book is very well written which I can always appreciate.

After many years of a successful relationship, Dane realizes something is missing and proposes changing things up and maybe adding another person to the mix. Both Mike and Dane find someone they think will make a good addition making their partnership a polyamorous relationship. This story follows their journey to navigate this new relationship.

As I mentioned, this book is well written. The relationships are complex and there is a lot emotion and drama.

Stay For Me (The Balefire Series Book 5) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Stay For Me (The Balefire Series Book 5)Stay For Me by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book five of the series. While this book can be read as a standalone, there are reoccurring characters and it would be good to read from the beginning. I didn’t read in order and I don’t feel like I missed anything major. It was a good book though and I’m sure the rest of the series is so I need to go back and read the others.

Garrett did what he thought he needed to do for his career. He is managing Balefire and ten years ago, building his career meant giving up Olivia. Now the band is all settling down and Garrett realizes what he’s missing. Like the universe knew it was time, he runs into Olivia. Only now, he’s not giving up. Garrett walking away just about killed Olivia. Now though, she’s making it or at least trying to. Directing music videos is her passion. The only problem is her studio isn’t doing so well. Directing a video for Balefire would make a world of difference. The only problem with that is Garrett. Will these two put the past behind them? Will Garrett choose Olivia this time?

I really enjoyed this book. It was a good read. I was a little annoyed with Garrett at the beginning because he seemed very whiny that the guys were all settling down and actually took their women’s opinions into account. The annoyance does fade though and I’m glad I gave the book a chance. It was a good read and I enjoyed following Garrett’s development as a character.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Travis is book one of the series. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author but it was a good read! It’s quick but it pulls you in until the end.

Riley and Tristan bump into each other and their connection is instant, even though Riley is sure Tristan doesn’t feel a connection. Tristan knows that his ex is going to be a problem and doesn’t want to bring that on Riley. Their connection builds as they continue to run into each other. Is that connection strong enough to withstand anything?

This book has it all. Suspense and steam are plenty! The characters are great and it’s very well written. The only thing you may find yourself wanting is more to their story. I highly recommend!

Savage Truth: A High School Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Book 2)Savage Truth: A High School Bully Romance by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book two of the series. Definitely should be read after the prequel and book one. This is the conclusion to Cole and Riley’s story.

Cole and Riley have a complicated relationship. Riley is still trying to end things between Lucas and her mom. She doesn’t trust that this is a real chance for them. Cole still has his anger toward Riley in regards to what happened to his mom. When it really matters though, Cole is able to set it all aside when Riley needs him.

Riley and Cole are great characters. Riley learns to trust someone other than her mom and her uncle by the end. She’s also very strong and you see her use the skills she’s learned from her uncle when she really needs to. This was a good conclusion to Riley and Cole’s story. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series goes.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book three of the series. These can be read as a standalone but honestly, they’re all so good you should just start at the beginning.

Lauren knew from the moment she met Mitch he was going to be the one for her. Was she a little young to know that? Maybe. But that doesn’t change the fact that they did in fact get married. As with most things, the shine wore off. The routine of marriage and working started getting in the way. Lauren doesn’t understand why Mitch seems so distant from her but she’s got her restaurant to pour all her energy into. Will this be the last straw for their marriage or will they be able to rebuild?

I really enjoyed this book. There was a lot of emotion and up and downs that I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen with Lauren and Mitch. I finished this book so quick! I was sucked in! It’s so well written you immediately feel like you have a stake in what happens to these characters. I highly recommend!

Non-Verbal by Molly Zenk – Review by Angelina Frazzini

NonVerbalNonVerbal by Molly Zenk
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is a standalone novel. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it but this book was so impactful!

The story is about Emerson, a teenager with a slew of labels as though they define her. She is labeled as having autism spectrum disorder as well as being non-verbal. This book takes you through Emerson’s story. She knows what she’d like to say but the words are lost. Yet she has to deal with people talking about her like she’s not there and doesn’t understand. She watches her parents struggle while also trying to protect her and give her some semblance of independence. While also realizing that while she’s been given the tools to cope sometimes her reaction is outside of her control.

This book is really powerful. I think everyone could benefit from reading it. It definitely gives you a first hand perspective of what it might be like to deal with and cope with the labels individuals on the spectrum have to deal with. This is a very well written book and I highly recommend anyone read this!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book one of the series. This isn’t the first book I’ve read by this author and as usual I wasn’t disappointed.

Brinley had to leave her friends behind and while they stayed as close as they could, time will tell as Brinley is moving back to Morris Valley. The only issue is, somewhere along the way she gained a stalker and now she’s realizing, maybe she needs some protection. Adrian is a rancher. It’s not what most people expect so when people find, namely woman, they don’t tend to stick around. Brinley isn’t most women. Adrian can already tell. She is a breath of fresh air he didn’t know he needed. Once he finds out that Brinley needs protection, he makes it his mission to make sure she’s safe. Is there more between these two than just keeping her safe?

I enjoyed this book. It was different than most I’ve read in terms of Brinley’s job. It was a refreshing change of pace. Adrian is a little alpha and very protective and I just love a protective hero. This was a good read!!

Just One Time (Beaumont Creek, #1)Just One Time by Samantha Baca
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book one of the series. This is a best friends to lovers romance. I just loved this book!

Abby is feeling some type of way after turning 40 and not having a family. She’s on the verge of taking matters into her own hands but man it can get expensive. After talking her feelings out with her best friend Nate and a conversation with her sister, she starts thinking that maybe the answer is right in front of her. Nate has had feelings for Abby for forever it seems. It’s an easy answer when she asks him to help her start a family. They agree it will be just one time and if it doesn’t work, Abby will explore other options. The problem is, the chemistry between the two of them is intense and what if they don’t want it to be just one time? Lack of communication leads to some issues. Will Nate ever be honest about his feelings? Will Abby? Or will Abby be raising their baby by herself?

I really enjoyed this book. It instantly sucked me in and I read it in one sitting! The chemistry between Abby and Nate jumped off the pages. Both were such great characters! You can’t help but feel frustrated at the lack of communication between them but you understand why. I definitely recommend this book! Can’t wait to see what comes next.

Savage Lies: A High School Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Book 1)Savage Lies: A High School Bully Romance by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is book one of the series. I highly recommend reading the prequel to better understand what’s going on in book one. This book pulled me in from the beginning and I just had to keep reading to see what was going to happen.

Riley is the new kid at school. The only problem is, she was here once before very briefly. She has no idea what has gotten into her mom but she’s determined to figure it out. The only thing she needs to do is stay off Cole’s radar. That might be difficult to do. Riley remembers the amazing kiss she shared with Cole the first time around even if he doesn’t. Their chemistry is off the charts and for whatever reason, she can’t find their connection. Cole is determined to split his dad and Riley’s mom up. Riley is just collateral damage at this point.

This book is full of angst! I couldn’t get enough. I can’t wait to jump into book two and find out how the story continues! I highly recommend this series!

Braving Lily (True Platinum, #5)Braving Lily by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the fifth book in the series but can definitely be read as a standalone. This book pulled me in from the beginning and I finished it so fast!

Lily is used to people using her for her money and connections. She just wants to find someone to connect with. She offers up a date for a charity auction. The problem: the person she should be meeting doesn’t show up! Is anyone worth the effort at this point? Rhys hasn’t been ready to date and he certainly isn’t about to start with a rockstar. Especially one like Lily. That is until he realizes he may have pegged her wrong. After spending some time together, Rhys and Lily realize they don’t want it to end. What will happen when their feelings are tested?

I really enjoyed this book. It was different than most rockstar tropes I’ve read and it was refreshing. Rhys grew as a character pretty quickly and you could see that change. Their chemistry was very evident! I highly recommend this book!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I don’t usually read this genre either but it was a good read. This book is full of adventure and growth.

Princess Zarina isn’t a character many would like at first. Her Royal Advancement Ceremony is approaching and she just has to have a special dress regardless of any danger that may be present. Princess Zarina quickly learns she’s capable of more than she thought and discovers who she truly is. She discovers strengths she didn’t know she had.

There is a lot of character growth throughout this story and my opinion of Princess Zarina changed by the end. If fairy tales are your thing, this book is for you.

This book is book two of the series. It can be read as a standalone. If you are looking for a spicy m/f/m romance this one is for you.

Jocelyn is struggling after the death of her mother. She can’t handle the guilt she feels so she pushes everyone close to her away. Her dreams are trying to tell her something but it can’t be real right? They are dreams after all. Cameron dreams of Jocelyn every night. He’s not sure the significance but he’s always seen things others haven’t. His dreams take a turn when Reed makes an appearance as well. Will these three connect or are these dreams just that?

This wasn’t a book I’d typically read but it was really well written and pulled me in. It didn’t lag anywhere and the story was engaging. I’m glad I picked it up!

Your Trainer Says Hi!Your Trainer Says Hi! by Indie Sparks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book two of the series. It can be read as a standalone but there are some crossover characters so if you want to understand who’s who, read book one first. Both are good so you won’t be mad.

Nadine is doing well! She’s got her juice bar, her job, and her best friend. Everything is great! Until she receives a phone call that sends everything into a tailspin. Now, she has to confront soon to be EX boyfriend, Heath, and figure out how to keep the juice bar afloat. As payback, or to start, Nadine is stealing Heath’s personal trainer. She is sure Wick is not her type so she’s just going to get a couple months of sessions as reimbursement. That is until she finds herself in his hot tub and it all changes from there. Wick is honestly just what Nadine needs. Someone to be nice to her but also not so nice (when it counts).

Wick wasn’t at all what I was expecting but man is he everything! He was surprisingly nice (and that was important to him) but super alpha which is great! Nadine is strong and independent. She has a hard time letting Wick be nice but she comes around. These two have intense chemistry! This book was so good!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This books is book one of the series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I wasn’t disappointed. This was such a good book I couldn’t put it down!

Rae has decided, after seeing what it did to her mom, that love is just not for her. She is independent. She gets to travel and see the world. Why would she need to be tied to a man? Dean doesn’t let anything get him down. To make sure of that, he’s swearing off women. Neither one of them expect that one weekend can change everything. Why would they? They are happy with how their lives are.

These characters are so well developed. Rae and Dean are both stubborn. Rae is patient but also knows not to take any crap. Their chemistry just about jumps off the page. You couldn’t help but root for them! This book has some ups and downs and so much heart and emotion. It’s truly well written and I can’t wait to dive into book two. I definitely recommend this book!
