ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Mirela Ruiz

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL was such an emotional listen. I was warned but was not ready for how deep it would hurt to listen to all that Quinn went through. The story was well organized and I could feel the emotions in every chapter. I felt like the pacing and dialogue moved the story along well and I did not feel lost. I could easily have finished it one day if the subject matter did not make me have to take a break. I got super invested and found myself reacting as Ivy did in the book.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Heather Lovelace

Four stars

This book is riveting and full of emotion and the narration just took it to a very stirring level. The emotions are tangible and bigger than the book and just completely overwhelmed me. The narrator did a good job conveying the intent of the author’s work. Well done.

Vengeance (The Journals Trilogy, #2)Vengeance by D.M. Earl
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story is the continuation of the first book Anguish which I had not read but although I did get the gist of the first book to then find this book as the Vengeance and revenge that Quinn wants to inflicted as mush torture on her tormentors but will she be able unleash the violence or will she fall at the last hurdle.

Stone and his gang is fully behind Quinn and will do anything for her, with the instant attraction he has too her can he fulfil what she wants to happened or will it break them apart. Quinn tries to hide the attraction to Stone as she at times blames in him in part for that fateful day.

I loved this story and although I followed the book I think it would be better to listen to the first book to get a greater understand of the actions behind Quinn and Stone. I loved the feel of getting wrapped into the story and feel with eat word spoken you are in the story living the action and evoke real emotion with each word listened to.

I will definitely download the first book and get the next book in this instalment and see how these two broken people end up and will they have their happy ever after.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Lizzie Chapman Gough

This book was very emotional and contains quite a hard hitting story line. I found the female protagonist a strong character despite what she had been through and although I didn’t love this book I am intrigued to know if she does get the revenge she seeks. I enjoyed how fast paced the story was and found this helped keep me focused on the plot and stopped my mind from wavering.
My reasons for not liking this were mainly that as the plot was so hard hitting and emotional I found the racy, sexual parts out of place with the general plot. I also found that the sexual encounters were overly descriptive but that’s my personal taste. I struggled with the narration as I found the narration strangely robotic but again that is my personal taste.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Kerry Baker

Anguish: The Journals Trilogy Book 1 Audiobook by D.M. Earl is a dark and twisted story that certainly leaves you wanting more. I wasn’t sure how this book would be properly portrayed as an audiobook and I was really surprised by how well it transferred. The emotion and the mystery all came through so well and I was hooked on the story almost as soon as it started. There was quite a slow and methodical tone to the way it was told which made it really easy to picture everything going on, only for all of the emotion to burst out with the dialogue. When it got to certain scenes in the book I found my heart breaking for Quinn as I imagined everything she must have gone through. My only gripe about this book is that every now and again the narration felt a little robotic however it doesn’t really detract from it being a great story. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and I can wait for the next one.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Bobbi Wagner

I loved this book’s audio.  This is an author that has continued to impress me with her writing skills and attention to details.  This book is no different.  I loved listening to this book.  The reader had lots of emotion in their voice.  I had no problems listening or imagining being with the characters.  It was easy, fun and entertaining to listen to.  I don’t normally listen to books but I would go back for more from this one.  The reader brought the characters to life and pulled me into the story from the beginning.  I highly recommend this book.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Dani Dando

This really wasn’t my kind of thing, I don’t know why but the story just didn’t resonate with me and I wasn’t particularly gripped. The writing wasn’t bad, but I just didn’t feel an affinity with the main character of this book. It’s a shame really because I was really intrigued. I don’t think its anything that Earl did or didn’t do, because I am certain that lots of people will find this enjoyable – it’s emotive, real and raw, what more could you want – I just didn’t for whatever reason.

I will say that I did like the description of the journals and the way they played into the story, the colour coding thing was an interesting touch that made me think it might be cool to do that myself. I don’t think I’d have the commitment though unfortunately. We are introduced to Quinn. She is the voice of the story, she comes across as a prickly character right from the get-go. Quinn is not exactly easy going but it is because something dark in her past always drags her back from the brink of happiness before she ever gets chance to truly settle into it. And when her past comes to smack her full force around the face it’s all Quinn can do not to unravel and round the pain.

Like I said, this has an interesting premise, and I am sure that a lot of people will find this enjoyable and entertaining. It just wasn’t for me.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Jenique Bornman

This is the review I left when I first read the book back in 2017
**********************************************************HOOKED FROM THE START.
This book held me captive from start to finish. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
It’s been a while since I’ve been so emotionally invested in a book. Quinn is a brave woman and the traumatic event that she went thru still gives me nightmares.
The way D.M. Earl paints the picture of that event with her words made me feel like I was there like Stone watching in horror.
Stone is the perfect protector. But I must say I started out not really liking him because I felt he could have done more to help Quinn. But in the end I fell in love with his character aswell.

I also love the fact that this book is written from Quinn and Stone’s point of view. Nice to get both of there perspectives.

This is not for the faint hearted. But I would read it again and again and again.
**********************************************************

So when I saw that it was available on audiobook I just HAD to get it.
What a completely different experience it is to hear this AMAZING book come to life in audio. Nya Simpson did an superb job with the narration.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Piper Foster

The narrotor does a real good job of doing this story. Well done descriptive of anxiety. Past has caught up with Quinn Brother found her again the person that destroy alot of Quinns life.

Quinn running from her past

Walker is not a nice person he’s vicious. He got worse over time. He’s manipulation is beyond what you thought.

This is such an emotional listen. This is things that happen in real life it can be hard to listen to. The way that this is portrayed is one of the best I’ve ever know. There is alot of history and side effects from family history.

Anguish – Audio Book

By D.M Earl

5 stars

This was a really interesting book to listen to. I did wonder when I read the synopsis how the narrator would get the authors words to come across as they are meant but I was really impressed. The story itself was really emotional at times and hearing Quinn’s words read to me felt like she was really telling me her story.

I really enjoyed listening to Anguish and I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Heidi Schoolman

This is the first book in The Journals Trilogy.  This audio book is just under 2 hours.  This story follows Quinn, who has just about lost everything and everyone, and Stone, who protects her from a distance.  She remembers his eyes from that fateful night and now, a decade later, she sees those eyes again.  Danger is lurking around the corner.  She has been writing everything in journals to help her cope, and with those journals and the person attached to those green eyes, she just might survive again.

Anguish by D.M. Earl

Narrated by Nya Simpson

Five Stars

Anguish is the first book in The Journals Trilogy by D.M. Earl. This is the first book I have read/listened to by this author. I have to say this book surprised me. It wasn’t what I was expecting when I stated listening. It was a roller coaster of a ride from the very beginning and it never stopped. Quinn is such a strong woman who suffered greatly. There are some explicit scenes in this book that could be triggers.  I listened to this book in one sitting because I just had to know how it ends, but that just left me wanting more. So I will be listening to Vengeance in the near future.

This book was narrated by Nya Simpson and this is the first narration I have listened to by her. Her voice was mellow and easy to listen to. She really brought the characters to life. I look forward to listening to many more books by her.

ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) by D.M. EARL
Genre: Romantic Suspense, Literary Diaries & Journals, Contemporary Romance
Listening Length – 1 hour 56 minutes
Narrated by: Nya Simpson

My name is Quinn and in one night my life changed forever. I lost not only part of my family, but also a huge part of who I was. Struggling to make it through each dark day, uncertain of everything in my life, I’m barely living just existing until a professional suggests I start writing down my thoughts in a journal.
My journals help me muddle through the personal and emotional baggage. Allow me to manage the past with all my Anguish; to function in the present plotting Vengeance; and to hope for my Awakening to a future full of all my dreams for a better life.
That is, until my past comes full force into my present and threatens my future. And the only person who can help me is someone from my past. The same person who has been around in the shadows protecting me, even when I didn’t know he was there, apparently has always had my back.
