This Anthology is a truly fantastic collection of sci-fi romance stories created by incredibly talented authors. With so many stories in one place this book offers hours and hours of enjoyment so once you start don’t plan to stop any time soon! LOL There are so many stories to choose from and such a wide variety you will not be disappointed with whichever story you choose. You might well be like me and read them all! I couldn’t help myself. I was drawn to this anthology by the fact that author Naomi Valkyrie had a story in it called The Alien and The Crime Boss. I always enjoy her work and this one definitely did not disappoint! I loved absolutely everything about Leilphun and Kasper and of course their story. It was original and had me hooked from start to finish.

I am not big on anthologies, but this was a fun one. Aliens and faded mates and a whole assortment of out of this world stories. All of the authors that teamed up did an amazing job, and it had a great flow. This was a book that gets you excited to read the full story when it’s released.

Aliens on Earth is a limited edition collection of romance short stories by various authors. Some I’m familiar with and many were new to me but I enjoyed them all just the same. Each short story is packed with, magic, drama, Romance and so much more. Each authors style of writing is different but they pull you into their world just the same. Naomi Valkyrie is one author I never hesitate picking up and this short story The Alien & The Crime the Boss is a prime example why. It’s a MM Alien Mafia Romance that will pull you in from the first page and doesn’t’ let go till the end. Its characters are developed strong and make the story come to life. I highly recommend reading this Anthology by these amazing authors there truly is something for everyone in it. My review are for two stories, the first one is Dark Thief by Melissa Riddell and the second one is The Alien & The Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie. Both stores we’re absolutely amazing. The world building and characters was well thought out. There is a lot of action, suspense, drama, and romance. The stories was a page turner for me. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happened next. I highly recommend this Sci fi romance.

This is a nice collection of stories. Each author brings readers into a new world and characters. I enjoyed these stories and would find it hard to pick just one as a favorite. Alongside the authors that I read there were a lot of new authors for me to enjoy. This collection has a good variety of characters from an alien dating app to alien mafia and a lot of what is in between. These short stories give you a glimpse into so many worlds and many different relationship, there are also different heat levels and matches that there should be something for just about everyone in these stories. It was nice to find myself immersed in different journeys and configurations but always finding the love shine through it all.

This anthology was a little outside of my normal genre but there were a few stories that caught my eye so I wanted to give it a try.
The first story I read was The Alien & The Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie. This is the story of Leilphun, who is exiled from his home planet for standing up for what he believes in, and Kasper, the crime boss who is fighting for what is rightfully his. This is a quick read and definitely feels rushed is places, but I believe that Valkyrie could flush this story out more and really develop the characters and plot line. I really enjoyed this story. This is a MM romance and there is allusion to spice, but no direct spiciness.
The second story I read was Her Alien Rock Star by Elle Ryan. This was a very short, but very spicy read. I definitely feel this one could be fleshed out more as well. There is a story here waiting to be developed. I really liked the connection between AJ and Ceol that Ryan was able to convey to the readers within a very short amount of time. And the amount of spice and the level of creative license on appendages and their abilities…just *chef’s kiss*!
Overall, I really enjoyed the stories in this anthology even though it was a little out of my wheelhouse. It definitely introduced me to some new authors that I look forward to reading. And for the most part, these stories are quick and easy reads. Great if your are looking for something short and spicy.

The Alien and the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie
Leilphun is on the run. He lands on Earth close to a crime boss. Lucky for him, the crime boss also needs him. What looks like a relationship built on convenience quickly becomes more for the two. This love is action packed with danger. I found it to have an original storyline compared to the other sci fi alien stories I’ve read, and will stand out among others. It took me a little time to like Kasper, but I like Leilphun immediately. While reading this story, I felt the full range of emotions – fear, worry, dread, sadness, happiness, peace with an outcome, and anticipation. Great job with the plot and characters!

Exiled by Aurora Hunter
Aztlan and Zaya’s romance was one of my favorites of the sci-fi I’ve read. Maybe it was because she was older or maybe because she was cynical of the whole thing. I liked that the author presented the prejudice she had against aliens as well. I thought that was original. It’s always interesting how the different cultures unfold to me, and this one was great. Aztlan and Zaya have great chemistry, and the plot was set up really well. If you aren’t sure you will like the sci-fi reads, this one is a great one to start with.

I fell in LOVE with this anthology! I greatly appreciate that the stories are divided by ‘Heat Levels’ in the beginning so you have a little peek of what you’re getting yourself into. The first that I thoroughly enjoyed was The Alien & The Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie, which was categorized under ‘Heat Level 2’. I definitely felt like it was properly labeled as such. You are dropped right into the action in the beginning, and I always like stories with dual point-of-view, which Valkyrie does a stunningly great job with. You will be fully invested in Kasper and Leilphun’s journey.
The second story I was drawn to was My Boss is an Alien by Ashlyn Hawkes. This was appropriately labeled as ‘Heat Level 4’ which did NOT disappoint in terms of spice. It is also told in the dual point-of-view, which I enjoyed. This entire collection is amazing, you should definitely pick it up because you’re bound to find at least one that is right up your alley!

I love finding books that are collections of many authors! It’s a great chance to find new to me authors or stories. There are so many stories but I’m only reviewing a couple. I hope to read the rest at another time since life gets in the way of my reading. lol

Alice’s Illusions by Maya Black
Alice a teenage girl is an outcast of sorts at school. Alice is dealing with the trauma from her sister passing and seems so very lonely. Hal, the new student, seems to gravitate towards her right away which she didn’t expect. Having Hal in her life seems to help Alice but soon she’s not so sure. A lot of things happen to make her wonder if she’s losing her mind. What is it about Hal that has her questioning herself? The author did a great job with this relatable story of a teenage girl and with the location/ world where the story takes place.

The Alien & The Crime Boss
A MM story about an Alien and a Crime boss. What an interesting mix to end up in! Lielphun arrives on earth only to find Kasper a crime boss intent on building up his empire. Whatever happens, I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading this story. The characters are great, and the world building is too. I have read many stories by Naomi Valkyrie and she never disappoints.

Overall this collection contains a good selection to try out some new authors and genres. Being short and sweet, these stories give you a quick taste of the authors and sub-genres and if you enjoy it, you can then go and explore more or follow the series they belong to. There are so many sub-genres that you’re bound to find something that suits you, for example I love criminal elements, so I was drawn to The Alien and the Crime Boss.

There are too many books for me to review each and every one so I’ll be reviewing a small selection individually.

ALICE’S ILLUSIONS:
This one had me a little emotional at parts due to the portrayal off the aftermath of the loss of Alice’s sister and the effect it has on her and her parents. I really felt for Alice and how she was feeling and I just wanted to reach out and comfort her.
I felt the pain the characters were experiencing, and this is what stood out to me the most in the author’s writing.

THE ALIEN AND THE CRIME BOSS:
This is the one I was looking forward to reading the most – I love a good mafia character. I thought this was an original concept and I was invested beginning to end. I enjoyed the story running in the background as well, not just the romance blossoming between Leilphun and Kasper, it added more depth and complexity to the story and was another point of interest in the story. It’s one of my favourites from the collection. I enjoyed experiencing Leilphun and Kasper coming together, learning each other’s mannerisms and coming into their own. I especially loved Leilphun’s character development, it was great to see him really come into his own as a warrior in his desire to defend and protect Kasper.

HER ALIEN ROCK STAR:
This is the shortest story of the collection at only 3 chapters, but it still packs a punch. AJ and Ceol get a second chance at love, and it certainly gets steamy. For such a short contribution I was impressed by how well it had been put together. I was a little apprehensive to read it as I thought it may feel like key elements would be missing but I’m glad to say that was not the case. The characters were interesting, as was the alien anatomy.

CHASTITY UNCHAINED:
From the first sentence I loved this one. I was chuckling at Harker, the way she came across from the beginning made her my favourite in the entire collection. She was written so well, her personality really stood out. My only issue is that the story ended too soon, I wanted a whole lot more from Harker. Another thing I loved about her is that Harker is a plus-sized character, and I love the representation as being desirable. I know I keep singing her praises, but I love her strength in the face of abduction after a series of already emotional events. She shows no fear in ‘fighting back’ to both Zaron and Cahn. She’s hilarious and I could read her point of view all day.

MY BROTHER’S ALIEN MATCH:
This one is sweet, it gets intense and very steamy, but it’s sweet. I wasn’t too keen on Taylor when I first started reading, I get he was hurting but my poor Robin didn’t deserve his lashing out. Robin is a very supportive brother to Taylor, and I love the loyalty and the support he shows his brother but my heart broke when I learnt how Robin viewed himself. In trying to help his brother, Robin meets Lando. I adore Robin and Lando, I really do, they’re both so sweet and supportive! I enjoy the character development in this story as Lando helps Robin see his worth and I can’t get enough.

A true collection of wonderful sci-fi romances
This anthology of sci-fi romance stories that don’t skimp on the details. There is something for everyone from diary excerpts to alien rock stars and even a paranormal sci fi cross romance.
I truly adore Naomi Valkyrie’s work and was pleased this anthology included a short story of hers. The Alien and the Crime Boss is a short MM alien romance that features Leilphun who is on the run after being exiled and heads to Earth for sanctuary. He ends up crossing paths with Kasper, a mafia crime boss, and gets more than he bargained for.
Another great author that I was happy to see included was Danielle Jacks. Alien Prince is a great little romance adventure that had me totally hooked. Naomi and Zenith had so much chemistry and the multilayered storyline was well done.
This is a collection not to miss. Highly recommend.

Aliens on Earth Anthology (Limited Edition Romance Collections) by Various Authors – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

Aliens on EarthAliens on Earth by Mandy Melanson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Aliens on Earth is a collection of short stories written by numerous authors. Each sci-fi adventure tells a different story and has different characters, some are human, and some are alien. The underlying theme is navigating love with someone from not only a different background but also from a different planet. With 36 different stories to choose from this collection has something for all lovers of sci-fi romance stories.

There were so many good stories that it would be hard to review all of them but there are two that stuck out and really grabbed my attention. The first one was The Alien and The Crime Boss by author Naomi Valkyrie. I have read many of this author’s work and love her writing style. This short story of a MM alien romance did not disappoint.

Leilphun has been exiled and now finds himself on the run to a strange new world where he hopes that he will be safe. He hopes to find a safe haven on Earth but gets “rescued” by someone that he may not be able to trust. Instead, he has been captured by a mafia crime boss whose family is battling another mafia family in a war to take over.

Kasper wants to take over but is choosing to bide his time and watch the war rage on between the families. Danger abounds when Kasper tries to merge the two families together. When he saves Leilphun he does not expect him to change his life or become attached to him. Leilphun is set on protecting and defending Kasper. The two are fated mates who now have found a reason to live and want more from life.

The second story that really drew me in was called Alice’s Illusions by Maya Black. This new author is one whose writing I immediately felt drawn to and I will be keeping an eye out for more of her stories.

Alice is a teenage girl who has recently lost her older sister. She is still grieving and unsure how to cope with the loss. Nobody in her home really talks about her sister and Alice feels that they do not care enough to honor her sister’s memory. Her parents bicker when the topic of her sister comes up and her younger brother still has nightmares every night. Alice feels alone and as though she has nobody to talk to about her sister’s death. Until the new boy, Hal, starts school and Alice learns that he lost his younger brother. Alice feels as though she has a kindred spirit in Hal and the two form an instant connection.

Hal helps Alice “speak” with her deceased sister a number of times through a Ouija board where she begins to learn the truth surrounding her sister’s death. Alice is horrified at what she discovers and starts to spiral out of control, lashing out at her parents, and spending even more time with Hal. As the two begin to spend more time together Alice senses that there is something not quite right about Hal. His moods swing drastically, and Alice begins to become frightened of him. She tries to push him away but feels a connection with him that is undeniable and cannot stay away from him. As the two bond, Alice’s behavior begins to worry her parents and they want her to seek help. Then Hal disappears and as the search for him begins the question rises as to who this elusive stranger is and where did he come from?

Each story may be different, but all are beautifully written, the storylines are interesting, and the characters are well developed. The authors did an amazing job in their writing, and I thoroughly enjoyed this collection. I read works from some authors whose writing I had previously read and was introduced to some new authors whose work I will be looking for in the future. These stories contained action, suspense, drama, danger, intrigue, and of course romance. A great compilation of short stories that does not disappoint.

A fantastic collection by some amazing authors. I really enjoyed this collection of romances, especially with the sci-fi touch. There is something for everyone here, M/F, M/M, Reverse Harem and many more. Here are a couple of the stories that stood out to me personally:

The Alien and The Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie
I am so in love with mm romance and this story really interested me. The concept of Leilphun being a “warrior” and he kind of grows into this being to help defend and protect Kasper. I love the attachment Kasper forms for Leilphun and the drama that unfolds while Kasper tries to merge the two empires.

Chastity Unchained by Ashley Amy
I did not want this to end! I need more of Harker, Zaron and Chan! First the fact they Harker is a plus size beauty drew me in immediately, and then 2 hot aliens want her, cherry on top. They seem to only need Chastity to procreate for their own species, together, but I sense by the end both of them want more from her. I absolutely loved how strong Harker is and how she talks back to both men with no fear.

Taken by the Asian by Elizabeth Dunlap
I loved this story so much! Raza and Lux are so perfect together. This M/M relationship was steamy, nerve wracking, heartbreaking at one point, and everything I could want. It was nice to see Lux finding someone that could satisfy him and that he felt a connection with after not finding what the was looking for, for so long. Raza, he’s got secrets, and when Lux finds out what they are it sparks a beautiful fire in their relationship.

Aliens On Earth is a fantastic collection of short sci-fi romance stories from some incredibly talented authors. This book contains 36 captivating stories- so there are many hours of engrossing reading to be had and there’s definitely something here to suit all sci-fi romance lovers.
There are a huge variety of stories here with a plethora of interesting human and alien characters who are all so diverse and wonderfully crafted into unique individuals who you will find so easy to connect with.
So, get comfortable and settle in for some wonderful reading set to captivate you through every page. I really enjoyed a few hours exploring this wonderful anthology, and I am sure that you will love this collection just as much as I have!
I won’t review every book, even though I enjoyed them all, as that would take forever for you to read- so I will choose just a few of the ones that stood out for me to give you a bit of an idea of what you might find between these covers.

The Collection Contains:

Alice’s Illusions By: Maya Black

The Chosen By: Tori Kellett

The Alien and the Crime Boss By: Naomi Valkyrie
This is a well-woven sci-fi mafia MM romance with aliens, action, adventure, danger, high stakes, suspense, agendas, fated mates, and much more. Leilphun escapes his home world and arrives on earth and into a situation he never anticipated. Kasper Kingston has a plan and can’t afford any distractions or mistakes- but fate has its own agenda. I loved this story so much. Loved the characters, the world-building, and other clever touches, and although this is a short story, it has the impact of a much longer novel. Definitely one of my favourites of this collection. Can always count on Ms. Valkyrie for an original and captivating read.

Dark Thief By: Melissa Riddell

Mated to the Serpent Prince By: J.C. Brown & Lena Lane

My Aliens Mates Recky’s Diary (Excerpts) By: Jodie A’Lores

Prodigal Granddaughter By: Marley Tobin

Exiled By: Aurora Hunter
-Her Alien Rock Star (Her Alien Hero Series Book #1) By: Elle Ryan
This is the shortest story in the collection, but never-the-less left quite an impression on me. AJ is out with friends when a surprising blast form the past brining unresolved emotions bubbling to the surface. Ceol is the sexy intergalactic superstar that left AJ to go on tour with his band and never came back. She was always on his mind, and he always hoped that they would reconnect. Now they have a second chance- can he convince her that they belong together? A sweet, hot and steamy second chance alien romance. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the rest of this story/series.
*Special mention to the ‘special appendage/s’

Taken By the Asani By: Elizabeth Dunlap
This is a cute, sweet, sexy, and very steamy MM sci-fi romance with an arranged marriage aspect that gave this story an extra element of interest with lots more to keep you engrossed the whole way through. Lux and Raza were so perfect for each other. I was rooting for them right from the get-go. This is also a first for me- with the MPreg element, as I had never read one before and wasn’t sure I would ‘like’ that element in a story, but after this story I might just be a convert now. Another stand-out in this collection.

Xalan Claimed By: A.J. Mullican
I really enjoyed this sexy story. It is a sci-fi romance with plenty of humour, banter, steam, and a touch of destiny.
Amber’s been burned by love- so after she caught her husband cheating, she filed for divorce and moved into a cabin on a lake and proceeded to make a comfortable, although lonely, life for herself. What happens when a sexy alien literally crashes his ship into the lake right off her pier? Well get set for things to take a sizzling turn. The language barrier definitely added humour to the whole encounter. And his special appendages certainly grabbed Amber’s (and my) attention. The story is set to continue in the full novel set to release in Fall, as this was an enticing teaser. I will definitely be grabbing a copy when it releases to continue Amber and Q’on’s story.

Nova Lost By: Kerry Keller & Kira Roman

Haven On Earth By: K. Rose

Her Secret Alien By: Susanna Eastman

A Ruthless Bargain (Alien Enforcers Book #1) By: Zadie Fox

A Mate For Haax (Mated to the Grekarian Series Book #2) By: Evie Burks

Rebel Mate By: K.O. Newman & Miri Stone

Prometheus Bound By: Mariah Thayer

Chastity Unchained By: Ashley Amy
This turned out to be quite an intriguing sci-fi story- with so much potential for a bigger impact- so I really hope this is just a taste of a longer story/series that will be releasing in the future, because I was completely invested in the story and the characters, but felt it ended a little abruptly. Harker is an exotic dancer who arrives at a club to catch up with her best friends after enduring a day from hell as first she catches her boyfriend cheating, and then one of her clients drops dead. But her night is about to take a turn for the worse when she and her friends are abducted by aliens who need some humans to breed with. What happens makes for a sexy read. Looking forward to more, hopefully.

Her Virgin Alien- A Steamy Sci-Fi Time Travel Alien Romance By: Mariyam Hasnain

My Boss is An Alien By: Ashlyn Hawkes

Lovin the Alien Exile By: K.N Fray

Representing the Alien Bride Lottery By: Margo Bond Collins
What happens when a group of terrorists attack the Annual Holiday Ball at the Khanavain Earth Embassy and hold everyone hostage? Join Aarek and Vivian as they try to save the day. This was such a great story- full of action, danger, drama, tension, chemistry, and spice. I will definitely be exploring more of the Alien Bride Lottery series- I can feel a book-binge coming on.

-Just a Space Fling By: Nyx Black & Lor Nicole

Cookie For the Space Man By: Star Wing

The Trouble With Aliens By: Tricia Schneider

Red Stars Crossed (Dragonfire Soul Mates Book #1) By: London Kemaker

Taming the Alien Beast By: Aerin Ida Celestia

Bought By the Alien By: Delilah Rose

Zenith’s Anchor By: Dove Priest & Raven Hush

My Brother’s Alien Match By: Sienna Sway

Hunting Darkness By: Sheri-Lynn Marean

Totally Launched By: Zoey Indiana

My Destined Aliens By: Aurora Welkin

Sasha’s Bounties (Earth’s Bounty Series) By: Deysi O’Donal

Alien Prince By: Daniel Jacks
I always enjoy Ms. Jack’s stories, and this one was no exception. Naomi and Zenith drew me into their story and held me captive right through to the end. Woven with drama, danger, chemistry, and the fate of the world at stake, these two took me on quite the adventure. Looking forward to more from Ms. Jacks.

I jumped into this book not really knowing what to expect except that they were all sci-fi/alien romances. But I soon discovered that all the stories are really quite wonderful and engrossing, with fantastic plots, varied characters who are complex and fully developed- and each story was really well crafted. Not only did I get to read work from some favourite authors- I also got to explore the work of many new to me authors and found a slew of new books to add to my TBR, so colour me one happy little bookworm.
There are some intriguing storylines, interesting characters, very suspenseful moment and surprising developments; some funny, light-hearted and touching moments; as well as some hot, steamy, and spicy times. Not to mention more than a few ‘interesting’ appendages to add extra ‘zing’ to the collection. I highly recommend this anthology. You won’t regret buying this collection, it is worth every cent of the purchase price- 36 books for the price of one! Now that’s a real bargain!
Happy Reading…

Thank you to all the contributing authors!

Aliens on EarthAliens on Earth by Mandy Melanson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Quite the interesting anthology of romantic stories of aliens and humans in romance here on earth. I read Alice’s Illusions by Maya Banks and The Alien & The Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie.

Alice’s Illusions is like a psychotic stalker/thriller. I wished there was a little more alien to the story then just haunted stalker feel. Overall, it’s a good thriller story that you might want to have a light on while you read because it’s a little spooky with your romance. Alice ind Hal feel like a bad trip from the rabbit hole. Try out the story anyway because Alice is full of surprises and she shows them as the story goes on.

The Alien & Crime Boss was a surprising story. A M/M romance that has the alien busting out his warrior to protect the crime boss. Can’t give away to much but it’s a story full of drama, adventure and some out-of-this world romance.. Watching this story develop gave insight to seeing two new cultures come together. It was a good story.

Aliens on EarthAliens on Earth by Mandy Melanson

Aliens on Earth is a part of a limited-edition 12 book romance collection by many wonderful new and USA Today bestselling authors. This collection is full of Sci Fi romantic tales of star-crossed lovers and fated mates that will tantalise and delight you. Travel earth, the universe and beyond and fall in love with kings, princes and warriors who will have you believing in love. Journey along as you are thrown into heart-pounding adventures as they help their alien mates.

Filled with action, excitement, adventure and, of course, romance, these books will take readers on an out-of-this-world journey. With compelling drama and edge-of-your-seat suspense, you won’t want to put these riveting romances down.

There are many, many great stories but I am only going to review a couple.
Naomi Valkyries The Alien & The Crime Boss is a MM alien mafia romance tale. – Leilphun is alone and on the run and walking into a brand-new world was safer than staying. Although Earth welcome wagon is not what he expected. Will his rescuer be his ruin or his salvation?

Kasper wants to take over and watching the war means he is on track he just must wait it out. What he didn’t count on was the man he found in the ravine. What he didn’t know was his actions had changed his life.
Well worth the read.

Tori Kelletts The Chosen – I have fallen in love with the characters in this book. Mia Knew what her life was meant to be but she had no hope against some of the women chosen. One foiled assassination attempt and her life has forever changed.

I enjoyed Tori’s book and am now off to read more of her work. I certainly hope there is more of these wonderful characters in future books.

(The Alien & The Crime Boss)

KASPER KINGSTON

With my plan to weaken the two major crime families set in motion, I retreat to a remote cabin to wait out the destruction and plan my takeover. None of my plans included a man claiming to be from another planet.

Believing he’s been sent to kill me, his ridiculous claim a distraction meant to throw me off, I hold him prisoner. But then he goes and saves my life. Maybe there’s something to this alien thing after all. One thing is certain, my pathway to power just got a whole lot easier with him on my side.

All I have to do now is stay focused on the mission and not get distracted by the allure of my otherworldly hero.

LEILPHUN

After fleeing the authorities on my home planet to avoid the punishment of the fighting arena, I awake on Earth only to find I’ve exchanged one prison for another. The difference is, I can tell the wary human holding me captive won’t harm me. He might be reluctant to believe I’m not human, but deep-down he knows I’m not a threat.

Despite his suspicion, he treats me well and even initiates the betrothal ritual. Which is why when people show up in the middle of the night intending to kill him, I call upon my warrior spirit to defend him; the very warrior spirit I’d sworn never to use, because I fear losing myself to my primal nature.

Now, Kasper has made me a part of his mission to rise to the top; but how can I be certain it’s me he truly wants? What if I’m just a pawn in his struggle for power – only good for my talents, but not worthy of his love?

Fractured Worlds: Courage in the Apocalypse by Courtney Konstantin – Review by Savanah Schwarz

So, I started this book and read it with out putting it down. This genre of apocalyptic, end-of-the-world type of story line is my favorite. I was not disappointed. Each story had its own unique version of terrifying and almost believable threads of the world ending. By the time you finish the first book about electromagnetic waves and people turning into brainless killing machines you won’t want to stop. Each story was intricate and detailed with great characters and world building. Each story draws you in and it gets better and better. I would recommend this to anyone. It will not disappoint.

First off, this book is a collection of multiple short stories and it is a massive book! We’re talking Stephen king sized massive, Lord of the Rings massive! The stories cover many different aspects of possible apocalyptic world. Zombies, virus outbreaks, solar flares, EMPs and even mosquitoes! Some stories are complete stand alone and some are prequels or sequels with characters we are familiar with from previous stories. It’s a great collection and definitely not what I was expecting! Happy reading!!

This is an absolute read for dystopian lovers! I have a spot for dystopian stories with characters that show us what humans can endure birth good and bad. This collection doesn’t disappoint. I was hooked from the first story and couldn’t put the book down! Each segment gives you different scenarios that could potentially be the downfall of modern society. I’m hooked!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a collection of 19 apocalyptic and dystopian stories brought together to support veterans and first responders. The different zombie apocalyptic spins, survivor scenarios, and writing styles each author used were intriguing and kept me reading.

There were so many great stories in this 800 page anthology that it’s hard to pick just one favorite. My top choices are Babysitter of the Apocalypse by Courtney Konstantin and Cataclysms New Hope by L. Douglas Hogan. Both of these stories have an unexpected hero/ heroine who takes care of others and grows themselves along the way. You really get to see this in Babysitter of the Apocalypse as the main character is suddenly thrust into a caregiver position of two small children, when they had always steered clear of children and had never even been able to keep a pet. I love the way these stories show how they overcome obstacles and persevere as they face most things that are sprung on them head on. These stories are nonstop actop and make you wonder if you could survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Do yourself a favor and pick up this great anthology that supports an amazing cause!

I am a sucker for dystopian fiction. I am also slightly obsessed with zombie fiction.. So you know I picked this book up immediately. I tend to rate these books with more critique than other novels because I read them so often. I do have to say that I was not disappointed by one of these authors. To top it all off, the proceeds are going to a fantastic charity. The only disappointment I had was that the stories were so short and left me wanting to read so much more. I could not knock a star off for that. How can you take a star for the stories being so awesome?

The bright side to the stories being shorter than normal is that you fly through this book in no time. If you are looking for a good, easy, semi-short read, this book is for you. The authors will not disappoint you, nor will the characters or the plots. Just be prepared for all of the suspense you will experience and the need for more at the end of each short story!

Let me start off by saying, I usually don’t like post-apocalyptic dystopian tales but I’m starting to like them more and more. This book is one of the reasons why. The author captured my attention because their heart is in the right place for getting their work out their and for a cause I can support.
That being said, let me dive into the review: These stories take you to another place, somewhere easily imagined with the descriptions provided, it hits a lot of places when you’re reading where you never imagined to go but keeps the human aspect in perspective. I loved how easily it was to take us to another place. It’s entertaining, fun to read, and realistic (at least to me) but full of action and suspense as well. You’ll enjoy this one just like I did.

I do not usually read this type of story as I hate being scared and anxious. But this book yelled for me to get it as all the proceeds of this go to the Gary Sinise foundation for Veterans and first responders. Being the fiancé of a Veteran and the sister and aunt to a couple first responders, this book called to me. So here I am a person who isn’t fond of this genre, reading this book. OH MY what good story lines and characters. The stories in this anthology will definitely pull you in and wrap you up and keep you turning pages because you just have to know what happens next. Best part about this is all the submissions in this anthology are stand alone. Each story is its own and they do not leave on cliff hangers.
Great charity anthology.
