Blood & Ravens (The Casket Girls Series Book 1) by A.D. Brazeau – Review by Rayne East

Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance (The Casket Girls Book 1)Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Paranormal romance with twists and turns
After a slow start, this story comes unto its own. Greer and Theron, each have their past struggles to contend with if they have any hope of a future. The story line has a unique twist and the mix of mythology, romance and the paranormal is well done. The romance starts off slow and heats up to a burn. Each of the characters were developed and the world building on point. A worthy read.

The Wolf’s Shadow (The Lycanthropy Files Book 1) by Cecilia Dominic – Review by Rayne East

The Wolf's Shadow (The Lycanthropy Files #1)The Wolf’s Shadow by Cecilia Dominic
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wolves, inheritance and discoveries
This was an unexpected surprise. The story was well written and had a good flow. It was a very different take on werewolves and a very interesting plot line. The characterisation was a bit hit and miss, at times I felt disconnected from some of the characters. Overall a fast-paced read filled with mystery, drama and twists.

Unabridged (Lovestruck Series Book 2) by Melinda De Ross – Review by Rayne East

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Quick romantic comedy
A great afternoon escape romcom that had me chuckling. Told from Angelina’s POV we are led on a journey full of self-talk, witty banter and hope of a second chance. I love dual POV books – unfortunately we don’t get that here. I would have loved to know Blade’s thoughts. Though this is a quick read – there is some depth to the story and the characters are well developed. Recommend.

Magical Fantasy adventure
An enchanting adventure about an orphan who finds herself on the run trying to hide her magical abilities. Along the way she discovers more than she bargained for when she meets an unlikely ally. Ember and Gavyn are great characters, each possessing a strength that resonates throughout the whole story. I really enjoyed this read and can’t wait to check out more from this author.

This is the first book I have read by this author and boy did it make things hot!
Morgan and Verdana ooze confidence and charisma and their story is filled with witty comebacks and sizzle. This is a full length romance and the first in The Hustlers Trilogy with each book focusing on a different couple. A brilliant read – recommend.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Short but descriptive
This was a quick read enemies to lovers romance with passion, fire and chemistry. Zenni and Colton have their fair share of emotional hang ups that they needed to deal with. The start had me frustrated as the couple worked through their differences but from the second half the story had me thoroughly engaged. A great afternoon escape.

Finding Melodie and The Wedding Special Boxset by Laura Rossi – Review by Rayne East

Melodie Boxset (Melodie #1-2)Melodie Boxset by Laura Rossi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Feisty romcom
Boxsets are the best! I really enjoyed both of these books and best of all I could just read right on through. Melodie is a beautiful soul and Isaac just completes her. So many laugh out loud moments and times that made me reflect, especially with Melodie’s positive rules to live by. A feel good refreshing romantic read that gripped me from page one and left me with all the feels. A must read.

Seasonal romance with a twist
What a delightfully fun read! A well written rom com with a dash of paranormal. I enjoyed the mix of gods, mythology, immortality and romance. Even though it was a short read it was well fleshed out and had me vested from start to finish. The world created by the author is wonderful and each of the characters well thought out. With lots of laugh out loud moments, I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Spring's Calling (Seasons of Magic, #1)Spring’s Calling by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Magic, prophesies and mysteries

This book has an intriguing take on magic and loved the interwoven crime aspect. Ezri is a strong female lead and very easy to connect with. The book builds slowly towards the climax but then quickly races to the finish. This is the first book in the series and has set the pace for the rest of the books. There is a little teaser of things to come which I am very keen to check out.

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Rayne East

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance, #3)The Fighter by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brilliant conclusion to the trilogy
This is the third book in the Underground Bad Boys Romance and it’s Jonathan Gage’s turn to face his battles and discover not all of them can be solved with his fists. I really enjoy this author’s writing style and the way this series has unfolded, especially catching up with characters from the previous two books. Gage and Juliet sizzled and having Ten thrown into the mix – holy hotness! There’s drama, action, and lots of soul searching. Loved it.

Captivating and delightful
A very entertaining and tantalising read. This is a contemporary romance with a real story line and well written characters. Jeremy has his charm and Regan has a backbone. These two together are so easy to fall in love with. It is a fast paced book and I was very quickly swept away within the pages. A worthy read.

Shifters, mates and monarchy
This is the first book in the series and it was brilliantly written. A perfect balance of paranormal, romance and action had me turning the pages late into the night that I ended up reading this in one sitting! Dual POV, which I love, had me falling hard for Jason. Lily is an emotional roller coaster but I liked her character too. Can’t wait to see where this series goes – there is still so much more to uncover. Highly recommend.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Angels, demons and temptations
Filled with a unique storyline this book is a page turner. Beelzebub is a flirty, mischievous and sexy demon who is confident with what he wants and what he does. Until he meets Clara, a baker and empath. I enjoyed their banter and connection. Once the battle between angels and demons starts the story takes a life of its own. A sinfully delicious read.

This book had it all. Loved the characters, the setting and the storyline. I was vested immediately in the characters, especially Sam. The writing is really good and this book is a very strong start to the series. Told in dual POV, Sam and Layla each hold their own. Their passion and connection is off the charts. There is a cliffhanger which makes me eager for book 2.

Reunion in the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction Book 4) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Rayne East

Reunion in the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #4)Reunion in the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wraps up the series brilliantly
Loved being back in Bunya Junction and back amongst friends. I did not want this book to end as it is last book in the series. I fell in love with the Carruthers clan and the town of Bunya Junction from book 1 and have loved watching them all get their HEA. This is Yolanda and Michael’s story. It’s all about the volatility of keeping secrets and working through the hard times that can happen even in the strongest relationships. This can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading the series from start to finish. Going to miss Bunya Junction.
