Hidden Mischief (Shattered Embrace Series) by Alyndra Quinn – Review by April Smith

Hidden Mischief (Shattered Embrace #1)Hidden Mischief by Alyndra Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book of this series. The author has done a tremendous job building the storyline along with the characters. As the story progresses, you feel like you are along side of them. I also like the building of additional side characters with the hopes they will have a storyline in future books of this series. If you are in to Dom/sub relationship reads, this book is for you and it won’t disappoint.

Beyond Friendship (The Irresistible Series #3)Beyond Friendship by Marlyn Love
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Although I believe this story can be read as a stand alone, it’s the third book in the irresistible series. This read shows you that some times people listen to their brain and not their heart. After a life altering event both Brian and Amanda begin to give in to their chemistry and into what they have been avoiding for over six years. The author does a great job making you feel the emotions the characters feel. I’m anxious to read other stories by this author and in this series too.

This story is such an emotional read. I identify as a parent but also it triggers this what if thoughts parents have about if something would very happen to them. The author did an amazing job getting the reader to understand the emotions the main character was going through along with the other characters in the story. It doesn’t take long to be drawn in and not want to put the book down. This was my first read by this author and I can’t wait to read other stories since I enjoyed this one so much

This book is book three in this sports romance set. If you have not read the previous two books in the series, you should, as you will love those characters just as much as the ones in this story. But if you choose to not do that, you can read this as a stand alone. The author does a great job connecting the reader with the characters. This was a quick book and just the right amount of romance to keep you interested. Can’t wait to read more by this author.

I’m a sports romance junkie. This is my first dive in to the tennis world and the author did a great job describing the lingo and allowing the audience to follow along with the story line even if they know nothing about tennis. The story of Flynn and Chavez is a good romance with a little suspense intertwined to keep you on your toes. I can wait to read more of this trilogy.

Strangers Kate and Chase meet by chance over saving a life tourist at the hotel. Realizing the chemistry between them, Kate risks putting work aside and having a little fun, little does she know Chase is the man she will be working for. You will enjoy the read of a very shy independent woman falling for a man who is very overprotective and detail oriented. The author does a good job with the love line of the characters and even adds a little mystery and suspense and ends with a HEA.

The author does use a lot of Scottish language terms that may have you trying to figure out what’s being talked of, but have no fear, she has gifted us with an extremely helpful glossary.

I have read a lot of books by this author but the twist in the book definitely was a surprise. It took me a bit longer to connect with the characters than it normally does. Although, once I was able to connect with them, I felt right at home with this book. Raven’s life story makes you fall in love with her character and Dwarf is your typical MC rider. This was a good read and can’t wait for more in this series.
