Queen Titania has a kingdom to rule, a husband to find. And evil to fight. Could Titania do it all. This story just keeps getting better and better as it goes on.

Savage Truth (Hidden Valley Elite Book 2) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Barbara Bohls

Savage Truth: A High School Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Book 2)Savage Truth: A High School Bully Romance by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is amazing!!! You will not be disappointed when reading it. It picks up where book one left off. You definitely will want to read book one before this one. It has the main male character being the one you want to have but just can’t. The leading female is still a kicking butt and taking names kind of girl and I am here for it. This book has all the steam that you could possibly want in a high school bully romance. You will have all the answers to everything that you were hoping form book one. This book will definitely leave you wanting more stories with the rest of the friend group. It makes you want to be part of that friend group. It was a very fast paced read because I was constantly turning pages to see what was going to happen next. There is suspense as well which just takes things to the next level for me. I highly suggest reading this when you have a day to dedicate to doing nothing but reading it, you won’t want to put it down.

Little Red, the Detective (Science Folktales) by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Jaimie Salmon-Colburn

Little Red, the Detective: a science folktale (Science Folktales)Little Red, the Detective: a science folktale by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Little Red, the Detective is similar to Red Riding Hood in some ways, but with a little twist. Red (real name Maureen) got her nickname because her grandmother knitted her a sweater that she wore all the time and it happened to be red. Her grandmother called her to come over for a new sweater but asked her to pick her some flowers to make tea along her way. Packing her plant book to help her look for the flowers, cookies for grandma that she and her mom made, and her flinger print kit she sets off to grandma’s house. While looking for the flowers, a wolf comes along and helps her find some purple flowers that smell like vanilla. She stops to look them up in her book and the wolf runs ahead to grandma’s house. The wolf then eats grandma and Red has to use her detective skills to see if Grandma is really Grandma. I don’t want to give it all away, but it’s a super cute book and take on an old classic tale. I thought that my 8 year old would love this book, but I think that younger kids would enjoy it as well. You could easily read this to a 5 year old. This author is great at adding in some “learning” into her books, which I LOVE! For example, in this book you learn a little about finger prints. Check this book out, but also her other ones too! I have a few of them now, and my daughter’s and I love them all so far!!

Fantastic book. As the parent of an autistic adult and 4 autistic grandchildren, I feel that the author has done a really good job of writing and giving the perspective of both the parents and of Emerson. Their life is complicated. I couldn’t put this book down. It grabbed my heartstrings and just kept me reading all the way through. All the emotions were felt. I will be buying and gifting this one to friends and teachers. It is deserving of more than 5 stars if I were allowed to give it more than that. Excellent book that I fell all should read.

The Sweet Temptations Trilogy (Sinful Delights) by L.M. Mountford – Review by Barbara Bohls

The Sweet Temptations Trilogy (Sinful Delights)The Sweet Temptations Trilogy by L.M. Mountford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This trilogy is a very quick paced, fast read. I was verysrurprised with how quickly I was able to read each book. That said, let’s talk about the books in this trilogy. I feel like this has a bit for everyone since every story is a different trope. You may not like them all but you can definitely find one that you do like in this collection. The steam is in full force from the very first story and doesn’t really let up until the end. The plots of each book are there but do happen to get lost in the steam, which I think is intentional. Don’t get me wrong the plots are good for each of these stories in the trilogy. They just seem to take a back seat to the steam. Which in all actuality is what I was expecting to happen during this trilogy. I found it interesting to see what was going to happen to Richard in every story. I loved the continuity that flowed from book to book. Even though the tropes where different, you felt a connection because of Richard being in each story. I would highly recommend this trilogy to anyone who likes steams, enjoys a variety of tropes but keeps the main character, and someone looking for an easy quick read. I was not disappointed in this series at all.

Messenger (Star-Crossed Celestials Book 2) by A.L. Morrow – Review by Barbara Bohls

Messenger (Star-Crossed Celestials Duet #2)Messenger by A.L. Morrow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is amazing. First thing first, you do need to read the first book in this series to understand fully what is going on. I skipped it, however, I will be going back to read it. I mean you can read this book without reading the first but it makes it harder to understand the dynamic between Jase and Cyrus. This book picks up where the other left off and it goes into detail about things but I feel I would have had a fuller understanding of what was happening had I read the first book before this one. That being said, this book is still amazing and I felt myself getting swept away with the story. It brings elements into the concept of Romeo and Juliet. There isn’t much of a resemblance to the actual Romeo and Juliet story because this one is between two males, had supernatural aspects, and really the only thing it has in common with Romeo and Juliet is the forbidden love between the two main characters. That said, it was an amazing spin on a timeless classic piece of literature. The slow burn between the charters that builds throughout the book. You can tell instantly how much they each care for each other and you can also feel, how everyone disagrees with some of their choices. It has angst, suspense, drama, love, and some good steam. You will not be disappointed reading this book if you like celestial, paranormal romance. I just suggest reading the first book in the series before this one so you are all caught up and not struggling to figure out things along the way. However, if you. just want to devour a great book and don’t mind not knowing everything but eventually being able to piece things together, go for it!!! This book will leave you wanting more, so I am excited to go back and read the first one in the series.

Rogue (The Talisman Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This book is about Baz Cormac, a rogue who wasn’t wanting to be a rogue but was rather forced into by Goddess Morrigan.  I absolutely love this series. It’s full of action and romance which I truly didn’t think I would like (the romance of it). There are multiple POVs throughout the series and each book has at least two main characters. Baz and Delaney are the two main characters in this book, I really feel connected to the two of them as they tell their story. Delaney is a warrior-talisman hybrid who is looking for her warrior sort of. Is Baz and Delaney meant to be, you need to read this book to find out?

Under My Care (Chase Care Book 3)Under My Care by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another book that takes us back to the Chase Care Center. This is also the 3rd book in the series. I will say that I was not disappointed by this book at all. There seemed to be trauma after trauma or something happening at the turn of every page. It made this book a really quick read because I had to keep turning the pages in order to find out what happened next or how they decided to proceed with doing something. The fact that the two main characters had worked together years previously gives you all the feels. The blizzard is only the tip of the iceberg on what happens in this book. If you like a fast paced love story with some steam and intrigue, I highly suggest this book. The characters give the reader everything from heroic actions to dee character growth. I was not disappointed by this book at all and it kept with the others in the series with the amount of action and resolution it has. You can read this book by itself before reading the others in the series, however, having the knowledge from the first two books gives you the back story on how things are and how they came to be. I would highly suggest reading the other two books first because they are just that good and you will want to read every book in this series. It is a fast paced read that kept me turning pages.

The Romanov HeiressThe Romanov Heiress by Jennifer Laam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an amazing historical fiction book. It is normally not my usual genre but I was caught up in the story from the first page. I am not familiar with the characters of this book, so it felt like an actual story but knowing that it is based off of actual figures, blows my mind. I feel like I might have said more attention in history classes growing up if they were presented like this. I can’t speak on how it portrays the charters based upon the actual events but I can say that this book kept me riveted the whole time. The mystery, the intrigue, the feelings these characters have, the dangers that come with being in the time period they are, all make for a page turning book. I understand that this book is only based off of the actual people and events and has a lot of fictional areas to the story. Knowing that doesn’t ready change anything for me because I didn’t know anything about these characters going into it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Russian history, loves a good historical genre book, and who just wants to escape. I will definitely be reading more books like this. I feel it is a good start at getting your feet wet in this genre if you don’t normally read it.

Savage Start: A High School Bully Romance: Hidden Valley Elite PrequelSavage Start: A High School Bully Romance: Hidden Valley Elite Prequel by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Savage Start is a short Prequel that ends with a cliffhanger which continues on with Savage Lies. This isn’t a standalone, but it gives you a little more back story with the characters in Savage Lies. In Savage Start, Riley and Cole are the main characters. Riley and her mother move to a new town in California. They move a lot and are almost always on the run. Her mom says it will be different this time, but it never is. She can’t trust being safe, ever! It doesn’t take her long to get caught stealing at a McMansion party and the guy who catches her not only takes her “souvenir”, but he also steals a kiss! Thrown off balance by his dangerous and sexy kiss, she’s distracted. And she got caught! She NEVER gets caught!! Leaving this town sooner rather than later might be the best. Cole, catching a little thief at his cousins party, is equally caught off guard by the mysterious girl. He was a little drunk, so he doesn’t remember all the details of her features, but he can’t stop thinking about the kiss and what it did to him. He’s never reacted like that before with anyone. When he catches wind of who she is, or more importantly who her mother is, all bets are off. This book is a new adult bully romance prequel about Riley and Cole’s story. I haven’t yet read the last of their story (Savage Truth), but I can’t wait to get my hands on it and all the books to this Hidden Valley Elite series! If you like enemies to lovers romance books this is a great set! I can’t wait to finish it all, but let me tell you that this prequel and the first book were enough to hook me in!!

Braving Lily (True Platinum Series Book 7) by Morgana Bevan – Review by Barbara Bohls

Braving Lily (True Platinum, #5)Braving Lily by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was amazing. It had funny parts, serious parts, loving parts, and just plain roll your eyes parts. This isn’t your typical rockstar romance. The rockstar in this book is Lily. I love that the female lead is the rockstar and the male lead, Rhys, is just a normal character. They both have been burned before by people that are supposed to love and care for them. Lily takes matters into her own hands and decided to blind date by auctioning off a date with her. Rhys, decides his mother doesn’t always knows what is best for him and doesn’t go on the date. What a way to get the attention of a mega pop star. The is just the beginning of their story and it will have you feeling everything and giggling throughout the rest of the book. It is your typical opposites attract love story because of the fame but they are similar because of their pasts and not feeling good enough. Lily feels used and Rhys feels betrayed. Can these two over come those hurt feelings and make something good happen between them? Will Rhys actually show up for a date with the super star? Can Lily trust someone not to be after her for their own personal gain? These and many other questions are answered in this book. I highly suggest reading it. It is a very quick read and really well written, you will find you are finished with it right after you started it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so incredibly well written that once you start the book it will feel like within a bind of an eye it was done. This book is fast paced and keeps you turning pages as quickly as you can. I almost felt like I was skimming the pages with how fast I was devouring the words. The banter between characters adds to the charm this book has. Yes, I said charm; because even though this is a bully romance it does has a warm feeling of charm to it. The push pull dynamic between the characters is spot on and hit all my feels. There is a prequel to this book but you don’t have to read it in order to pick this one up. I would recommend reading it because it does give some background information that you won’t feel is missing if you don’t know about it but would help if you do know about it. This book does leave you wanting more not only because of how amazing it was but because you actually want to know more and what happens. This book read like a dream and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a fast paced, jammed packed, bully romance; that can be finished in a few hours. Seriously, you will read it that quickly because you wont be able to put it down.

This Night Has Ended (Vampire State Book 5) by Alexander Charalambides – Review by Barbara Bohls

This Night Has EndedThis Night Has Ended by Alexander Charalambides
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First thing first, this is the 5th book in the series and if you haven’t read the others in the series; you will be a little lost. I am not saying that you can’t read this one and figure things out but it would be easier to understand if you read the whole series. This book reads beautifully. The words that are written seem to jump off the pages. This book has a little something for everyone. It has action, vampires, humans, danger, adventure, a huge political tone, tension, romance, and dystopia. You will be hooked after the first chapter. This book will take you on so many twists and turns that you won’t want to stop reading. This book is not your typical vampire book either, which was a huge surprise to me. I felt while reading this that I haven’t read anything quite like it before. It was a rush to be able to not know what was going to happen. After having read certain genres of books, I almost feel like at times I can somewhat predict what is going to happen or I have a few ideas as to what might happen. Well, whatever I thought was going to happen didn’t. It was amazing and such a fresh look into a concept that I hadn’t even dreamed of with paranormal writing. The growth of the characters throughout the book is sensational. Rowena one of the main characters goes through some difficult revelations but comes out better on the other side. I highly recommend this book to anyone. Especially, if you are looking for a different perspective in paranormal stories.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story is a very quick read and it draws you in from the first chapter. You will understand each of Colton and Zenni’s reasons for wanting the plantation. The love that they try to deny throughout the book is super cute. It’s the rich guy that wants to tear it down and the girl that feels it’s the last memories she has of her family. This book does touch on slavery and shows you two completely different views on it. One is pain and suffering, the other is trying to preserve the history. The angst that the characters feel for each other is felt throughout the book. It is such a sweet burn romance. The book has you constantly asking who will prevail and if so will they be able to love each other. Can they put their differences aside and make the best of the situation and have a happily ever after? These questions are what kept me turning the page. It will be a fast, interesting, slow burn romance read that you didn’t know you needed until you finish it.

It takes some twists and turns that you don’t see coming and that kept me reading and not wanting to put the book down. There is some steam to this book and it just makes it that much more enjoyable. ~ A Must Read in a Shapeshifter Fantasy ~

This is the final book in the series, and I have eaten up every single one. Dahlia has remained true to her core self, but without giving in spoilers away has also evolved into something quite new. Her supporting roles and friends along the way have developed, as well as the world(s) around her. This is such a unique story line, and is such an easy decision to pick up and read. You definitely won’t regret it.

I do have to say even the villains/anti-heroes I find myself empathizing with, or at least seeing from their perspective. This is such a nice wrap up to an enthralling fantasy series I know without a doubt I will be reading again. It was also, just a little bit of a shock I was not expecting!!! While Dahlia isn’t the most lovable character, she certainly is inspiring, strong, and extremely loyal. I haven’t met a character or being quite like her yet, and it was such a pleasure to hear her story. Love, love, love this series.

The push and pull of the characters in this book will hook you from the very beginning. The knight in shining armor that no one asked for but yet never knew they needed until he appeared, the fighter trying to make it big, and the nurse. These are the characters that will have you feel every emotion the author is trying to portray. I’ve always said that an amazing writer is one that will convey everything they are feeling while writing their books to you through their words. I was not disappointed at all. This book reads very easily and the character growth and development is amazing. You will be trying to figure out what will happen next but at the same time you will be caught up in the sizzling steamy scenes that happen between the characters. This book is what I consider an easy read because I was constantly turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride this book takes you on.

The Traitor (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 2) by India Kells – Review by Barbara Bohls

The Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys SeriesThe Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys Series by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book of this series and let me tell you, the steam and sizzle on the pages didn’t slow down. It almost felt like it increased. When reading this book you are going to need a fan to help cool you down from these amazing spicy scenes. A boy that will gladly give his body away but not his heart comes toe to toe with a feisty little spitfire that he can’t seem to stay away from. Then you add in a friend from the past and things spark to life. The characters in this book are amazing and it gave me everything I didn’t know I needed and then even more of the things I knew I needed. If you love reading some sizzling scenes and still have some substance of a story than this book is for you!!. I couldn’t put it down and it was a quick read for me because I just got lost in the book. Enjoy!!!

The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 1) by India Kells – Review by Barbara Bohls.

The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance)The Debt Collector by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was hands down one of the steamiest, hottest, most melting books I have read so far this year. If you don’t have any triggers and don’t mind a little MM and MMF, you are in for a real treat. This books has scenes that burn the pages up and the of course will make you read it faster and not be able to put it down. There is character development throughout the story but I felt it needed just a little more than what I was given. Complete personal choice, it is there just didn’t hit the sweet spot for me. You will definitely fall for the characters and by the end of the book, you won’t be able to choose your favorite. The darkness that they all experienced in their lives is what brings them all together. If you have a few hours to tuck yourself away to read, this must be the book. When I say tuck yourself away, I mean it. You will be blushing from the things that you will be reading. Enter at your own risk but you won’t be disappointed.

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla) by S.B. Alexander – Review by Barbara Bohls

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla, #1)The Hunted by S.B. Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my first book by this author. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. The way the characters are written allows the reader to easily visualize them and the hot vampire is exactly that, HOT!! They character development in this story is really good but it was the twists and turns (suspense and action) that really made me sink my teeth into it. This book has everything from romance, steam, to suspense. I highly recommend this book because it left me wanting more. I couldn’t stop reading it. The pages blurred together and when the ending happened, I wasn’t prepared or ready for it to be over. Can she stop hunting him and love him? That question is what had me through the whole book.
