Obedience (Ties That Bind Book 1) Audiobook by Liza Snow – Review by Aranza

Obedience: Ties That Bind, Book 1 AUDIO by Liza Snow

4.5 out of 5 Stars

This was definitely a fun one. I really enjoyed the story from the start and was very pleased with the direction it took. I expected something totally different but I’m glad I was wrong because now I can’t imagine it any other way. I loved how we are able to get the point of view of both, Cassandra and Chandler. I really enjoyed listening to Chandler’s voice when listening to the audiobook. I also like the fact that both characters are adults. Their age difference doesn’t feel weird because they are both in a time of their life when they can make the decision to be together without being creepy. I was unable to stop listening and finished it faster than any other audiobook. I was a little upset to be left in a little bit of a cliffhanger and can’t wait for the next part of their story but that’s maybe just me since I’m so impatient. Highly recommend!

I’m new to the genre of speculative fiction steampunk but I will definitely be looking for more stories like this. I loved this story and genere more than I thought I would. It gives you a little bit of everything that makes a story good and it definitely keeps the reader engaged. The characters are so interesting and lovable that you can’t help but hope for them to succeed. I can’t wait to dig in some more into this authors work and also read more of this genere.

  • I was so excited to read this story and it was definitely worth it. I recommend reading the prequel since it is as good as this one and will give you some insight on the story. It was frustrating to be left on a cliffhanger but I’m hopeful that it will be worth it. I can’t wait to continue the series. This is definitely a must read.View all my reviews

Messenger (Star-Crossed Celestials Book 2) by A.L. Morrow – Review by Rebeca Elliott Figueiras

Messenger (Star-Crossed Celestials Duet #2)Messenger by A.L. Morrow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the series, so I would highly recommend reading the first before starting this one.
I love twists and retellings of the classics so when I came across this book (bonus points for paranormal elements – angels) I knew I had to read both books.

Jace and Cyrus are great characters. There are other well-written characters in this book, but as the main characters Jace and Cyrus steal the show. The struggle they face following the conclusion of the last book is gut-wrenching and the pain they feel is written well. I really felt for the pair as they suffered.
I was rooting for them from the beginning and was invested to see how they would navigate the obstacles in their way as they made their way forward.

  • If you enjoy retellings, angels and forbidden love, I would recommend this book.

This historical fiction novel is a great read. Filled with great characters and amazing details that make you feel like you are part of the story. The author did an incredible job with the historical details and merging them to make a believable fictional story. As someone who has read many historical fiction novels I have to say this is definitely a win. Highly recommend!

Return to Hoodoo (Boudin, Bourbon, and Barbecue, Book 1) by Reggi Dupree – Review by Aranza

Return to Hoodoo: Boudin, Bourbon, and Barbecue, Book 1 AUDIO BOOK By Reggi Dupree

4.5 Stars out of 5 Stars

This was my first time with a Reggi Dupree book and I was completely drawn to it. The main character is so much fun and relatable (without the supernatural aspect). I feel in love with Hoodoo and all the people in it. I was very pleased with the audiobook since the voice of the main character goes perfect with the story. As usual, I listen to audiobooks on my way to work and then on the way back home but with this book it was impossible to stop listening. Be advised that it will leave you in a little bit of a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next book.

Sad to see the end of this fantastic world. Just as the previous books, this is definitely worth reading. A lot changed during the course of the series. I was happy to see the growth of the main character. Definitely a great experience reading it.

Set 70 years after the first book a lot has change but at the same time it feels like no time has passed. Just as the first book of the series, this book is packed with twists and turns that will blow your mind. You will not be able to stop reading once you start. Happy to return to this fantastic world. It’s always fun to get back to beloved characters in an action packed story.

If you are a vampire lover you need to read this. A new perspective of our beloved story. This is told from the point of view of a different character in the series. This gives us new insight on some of the things seen on previous books. I personally like when there are different perspectives of stories that are interesting. definitely a great addition to the series.
