History and mystery
This was an absolute delight to read. Fell instantly in love with Emma and her creative, industrious mind. The author is spot on with the characterisation and world building, I felt instantly transported into the 1800s and into Emma’s life. The book consists of several cases, which kept the story moving along and me turning the pages. I can’t wait to continue this series. I highly recommend this book for teens and up.

TAINTED by Marsha R. West – Review by Cora Ryan

TaintedTainted by Marsha R West
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The suspense in this book kept you on your toes, you are so into the characters that all of sudden something happens and you are shocked. When you think it couldn’t possibly get worst or that nothing else could happen to our amazing strong independent heroine you are wrong!
The ending threw me for a loop, I thought all was peaceful and calm and the book took a different turn!
I love the relationship she has with her daughter, it is nice to see her daughter support her through the hurricaine that was their father. There isnt much info on the son but that seems typical after the ordeal and the mess he had to pick up now managing all the stores by himself.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gripping and thought provoking

This intense, psychological thriller puts you through the wringer and spits you out with no apologies at the other end. I was so riveted to each page and felt so many emotions after each reveal. The turbulent journey left me breathless and the twists kept me guessing. Even after I finished the book the story kept going through my mind. The author really captured the multifaceted aspects of mental illness. So brilliantly written – a must read!

Book 2 was amazing. It was filled with so much tension and war. Tasha and Levi’s journey together continues in book 2. This poor couple can not catch a break. The hellspawn are at their door every night trying to kill everyone in sight. The lycans and vampires are working together to try and save their races. Life gets even more interesting when Castus and his minions are on a warpath as well. He wants Tasha for payback and his evil plan. The Master hellspawn wants her too and she belongs to Levi. Levi is going crazy trying to keep her safe at every turn.
I can’t wait to read the next book

THE MARCY SERIES BOXSET: BOOKS 1-3 by Linda J. Burson – Review by M Policicchio

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

THE MARCY SERIES BOXSET: BOOKS 1-3 by Linda J. Burson

4 of 5 Stars

These are the first three novels in this series by Linda J. Burson. The series tells us the story of Marcy Jenson. Marcy is a young, independent entrepreneur. Marcy opened her own bakery about 2.5 years ago. Marcy thought she was living the good life. She was in a steady relationship with Brad, the man she knew she was going to marry. The bakery was doing well, so well she needed to add additional help. The only issue was that Marcy started to have uncontrollable rage. All of her friends were concerned. One night, Marcy stopped at a random gas station to get gas on her way home. This fuel stop changed the course of Marcy’s life. After, a stranger came into Marcy’s life. Liam is tall, strong, handsome and dangerous. Was he truly a stranger? Was he dangerous for Marcy? Can this stranger help Marcy with her rage?

In Rage, we get to know each of the characters and start to understand all their reasons for feeling the rage burning inside of them.

In Confusion, Marcy, Brad and Liam are thrown as the emotional toll of dealing with their rage bubbles to the surface.

In Agony and Ecstasy, life for Marcy, Liam and Brad has appeared to smooth out. Happiness appears just around the corner. But, we all know that there can be anything around that corner, especially dark shadows of the past.

I found myself talking out loud to the characters, telling them to stop, breathe, think about what they were doing. I questioned their choices. I rooted for their victories. I cried with them. I was pulled into Marcy’s world deeper and deeper with every page. My emotions ran so deeply that I had to put my phone down and walk away a couple of times. I thought I could walk away from Marcy, Liam and Brad but I was drawn back to them time and time again. This is a series that I have to finish.

DATING THE INTERN by Natalina Reis – Review by Tamisha Janay

Dating the InternDating the Intern by Natalina Reis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story was everything that I didn’t know I wanted. I love watching rom-coms and reading YA or supernatural types of novels, but this book was perfect. It was a light read that made me cringe, laugh, and smile with my whole heart.

Ivory Tower is a successful businesswoman who is running her own dating service. She has a not-so-great history with her father and looks down on herself because of this. She is obviously a beautiful soul inside and out, but I think that we can all relate to having someone or something in our lives that makes us feel less than we are. So, what is the big problem? She isn’t dating anyone herself. Network execs want to do an interview with her and her “beau” and she agrees without thinking it through! Thankfully Li-Qiang (our hunk of this story) is an amazing intern and offers to fake a relationship with her – for the sake of the business and her reputation, of course.. This story has everything a wonderful light romance comedy needs: flirty looks, learning to stand up for yourself, a surprise reveal, a nosy family, and a whole bunch of laughter. Ms. Reis did a fantastic job with this story and I look forward to reading more from her! Pick it up. Enjoy the read. You won’t regret it!

This novella was so cute!
Willa and Brody are he most adorable, actually speaking their minds instead of playing ridiculous games like in most romance books. I wish this book would have been longer because I wanted to learn so much more about them but this novella was the perfect pick me up after some intense reading.
It was a light and happy read and of course happily ever after.
there was a good combination of OH NO moment and of course who doesnt like an ex-boyfriend villan and jealous assistant. It has all the making of a great movie.

Dangerous Curves Boxed Set #1 (Dangerous Curves Books 1-3) by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Rayne East

Dangerous Curves Boxed Set 1: 3 Cozy Christian MysteriesDangerous Curves Boxed Set 1: 3 Cozy Christian Mysteries by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Intriguing cozy mystery set
Who doesn’t like good mystery? I absolutely adored Sunshine and her penchant for sleuthing. This box set had me from the first page and reading well into the night. All three stories are well written and developed in their own right. My favourite though was Shooting at the Shore which is a murder mystery. With quirkiness that will have you laughing out loud and characters that up you will fall in love with – I highly recommend picking this set up today.

The Girl and the Raven (The Girl and the Raven series) by Pauline Gruber – Review by Jennifer Reimer

The Girl and The RavenThe Girl and The Raven by Pauline Gruber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a page turner of events. Other then the supernatural part it really brought back some memories of being a teenage in high school and trying to fit in. The supernatural part of this book was amazing, the twists and turns this book made always kept me wondering what was happening next, and what was going to happen. It starts off right away by grabbing up with the tragic event with her mother and then finding out who she is and what she can do. The evil that also is in the world and everything that made her come to the point where she is now. I really can’t wait for the next book; this is a must read.

Repair (Rescue Me Book 1) by Trish Williford – Review by Deb Robinson

RepairRepair by Trish Williford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved the main characters in this book, Trent (Tank) and Charlotte (Charlie). The bond between these two is almost palpable. This book deals with so many important issues but in a delicate way. Trent and Charlie both lie to each other at the beginning of the book and now have them dealing with pain, shock, sorrow and heartbreak. Charlie goes back to school to finish her last two months of her Masters degree in Nursing and doesn’t return to Sunnyville until 8 years later. Trust is a hard commodity to gain once it has been broken. This book had some tough issues in it but the author is great at the balance of still providing a pleasurable read. Justin’s birthday was hilarious. This book was extremely relatable on so many levels, I fully enjoyed it.

The Girl and the Gargoyle (The Girl and the Raven Book 2) by Pauline Gruber – Review by Rayne East

The Girl and the Gargoyle (The Girl and the Raven, #2)The Girl and the Gargoyle by Pauline Gruber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gargoyles, demons and witches
Book two of the series and the drama continues. Loved being back with Lucy, Marcus and Dylan. This takes off straight from book one and what a roller coaster of action and emotion. Lucy is faced with so many choices and sometimes everything isn’t what it seems, especially when demons and gargoyles are involved. Her relationships are questioned time and again and I was so frustrated with Marcus and Dylan. Can’t wait for book three – need some closure now.

So Close (Love Grows Series Book 4) by Renee Regent

4 out of 5 Stars

Dahlia Perez grew up thinking that Levi Vance was going to be her best friend for life. They had grown up together. He was her first crush. Dahlia had fought her desire for Levi for years because she didn’t want anything to interfere with their friendship. She had met and married another man, Trey. Trey betrayed Dahlia, betrayed their marriage vows. Levi watched it all happening. Dahlia decided that she was done with both of them. She walked out of Levi’s life 8 years ago. If it had not been for the limited interaction caused by trying to co-parent their son, Beckett, she would have been done with Trey, as well.

Dahlia’s promotion has put her at the forefront of a major project for her employer. How did Levi wind up as the contractor on this project? Levi believes it is fate, giving him another chance to make things right with Dahlia, to be together, or at the very least for her to stop hating him. Levi is going to give getting back Dahlia everything he has, if they can’t be together maybe they can once again be friends.

Renee Regent does an amazing job of creating the history and conflict of these characters. Friends, enemies, friends, possible lovers. The chemistry between Levi and Dahlia was palpable from the first time they were on the page together. Maybe it was the hate and anger rolling off Dahlia, but the pages singed my fingers!! I loved that Dahlia was a fierce momma bear for her son. Great read!! I hope that Trey is able to continue maturing to be a better father for Beckett.

THE GOD (HER THREE IMMORTALS BOOK 2) by HAZEL STORM – Review by Deb Robinson

The God (Her Three Immortals, #2)The God by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was looking forward to this book and was not disappointed. Vanessa is now in the Underworld and abandoned by Grey in his penthouse. She becomes fast friends with the daughter of Medusa who helps her see her brother Piper, her mom, and Raef in the Overworld. Vanessa finds herself attracting the attention of gods, creatures, sons of gods, and many more. She is trying to save the life of a distant relative which causes many twists and turns all the while, trying to stay under the radar of the Queen of the Underworld. This is the one person she has been warned about. If you loved book one you will love the continuing story of Vanessa and Grey.

Island mystery with a sidekick of fun!
What a fun ride. The mystery kept me guessing and the twists and turns kept me on my toes. I really enjoyed the blend of paranormal, mythology and cozy mystery. The characters were so quirky and really kept the story flowing along. The way that Sarah describes her empathic abilities and how she uses them was fascinating. I highly recommend this for teens and up.
