I absolutely loved this story! I can’t wait to read the rebel series now! I need more 😊

Read the trigger warnings; some of those themes are pretty heavy. I don’t have triggers but I sure did bawl a couple moments, the situations were written so well, you empathize with characters and it breaks your heart reading their stories.
I could not even believe a few things I read, leaving my mouth open in shock, which makes me NEED to read the series to get more details on the what, where, who, when etc

This book did have me from the get go- the opening is filled with a flurry of events. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series. I’m not sure if this would work better fit in under publication order, or if it would work better in a timeline order. I liked it, and I’m intrigued enough that I’ll look into the other books in the series when I get time. I’m not much for rockstar romances; but so far so good.

The minute I found that this was a rockstar romance, I was ready to jump in. Please as always make sure you check trigger warnings. Your mental health is important to you and to those around you. After finishing I realized that this is a prequel. Which I truly do not mind. It actually makes me more excited to read the others in this. We see each band member and the way they work with each other and against. This was a fun read for sure.

Blurring the Lines & Extras (The Blind Rebels Series) by Amy Kaybach – Review by Jessica Stone

So this book is a novella/prequel for the blind rebel series and it has two parts. It’s really interesting to be able to go back after reading the first few books in the series and to see what happened before the events of those books.

If you like drugs, sex and rock n roll then this story is for you. It follows each member of the rebels and Becka and how she met Mav. Each chapter is from a different perspective which I enjoy reading a lot to gain the insight into these different character and the first part really focuses on Becka and her trauma and need and Mav and all the craziness going on in his life. You get to see the instant connection between them and their relationship form. I really enjoy how unhinged Becka is if I’m going to be honest, maybe not the healthiest ways of coping are utilized by her and she’s a wee bit of a nut case but I’m always routing for a girl who knows what she wants and goes for it.
The second half focuses on everyone else in the band a bit more, introducing them a bit more than the snippets you get in the first half.

I enjoyed the writing style and the bouncing around to different characters I believe it kept this read at a fast pace while still divulging the information it needed to while touching on some hard subjects without being to subjective which is sometimes hard to do when touching on drugs and addiction, alcoholism and other such topics. While I would highly recommend this read, especially if you are going to read The Blind Rebels series I would suggest double checking your trigger warns before starting, otherwise I would say dive right in and enjoy, I definitely did. There are a few bonus chapters at the end of the novella which are from the other books, I feel like this book could be read before the series if you chose, I don’t feel like you would be lost if so but I also think that reading the other books and then coming back to this one really brings things full circle.

I read this novella without reading any of the Blind Rebels series. I enjoyed this novella. I was entertained by the world of rock n roll. I haven’t previously read stories about rock stars. I’m glad I started with the Blind Rebels. It was captivating to learn about the bands and the lives they live off stage. I loved the Blind Rebels band members and their dynamic. They seem like a lot of fun to hang around. I liked Maverick’s character the most. He is gentleman like, honest, and noble. I found myself despising Becka’s character, though. I found her to be manipulative and untrustworthy, and I felt bad for the way she treated Maverick. The romance scenes between the two, however, were steamy and exciting.
The extra chapters left me wanting to read the rest of the Blind Rebels series. I’m sure they add clarity to the series. For me, they were a bit confusing. I felt as though I really should have read the rest of the series before reading them. Overall, I recommend this novella to readers who have read the rest of the series or readers wanting to start the series. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the Blind Rebels stories!

Blurring the Lines & Extras (The Blind Rebels)

I have not read any of the earlier books about Blind Rebels so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but figured it would be okay since this is a prequel of the series. Had no opinions on anyone, but that quickly changed with Becka. That girl is unhinged.

Mav, Cal, Kill and Sam go through their ups and downs as most bands do and appear to come out stronger than before. I’ll find out for sure once I read this series.

While reading the extras it gave me a glimpse of what is to come for me and maybe a few spoilers, but that is more than okay. I will definitely read that section again after I have read the series. Might have to give up sleep to do it but that’s okay.

This is a prequel/novella to the Blind Rebels series. I definitely think you want to read the series before you tackle this one. This is a story that revolves around a band that are friends and brothers. I found myself a little lost and definitely wanting more, but at the same time, some things as I kept reading suddenly made sense! I would definitely want to delve into this series. The relationships between the band members are deep and I loved how the author followed their journey.

Blurring the Lines is a prequel to the Blind Rebels series, with some extra content such as scenes from the later books from different perspectives. I haven’t read the Blind Rebels series yet and found that Blurring the Lines itself is perfectly enjoyable to read on its own (and to get a taste of the style and characters before committing to the series) but the extras make less sense out of context and could be a bit spoilery. So I’d recommend either reading Blind Rebels first or reading Blurring the Lines followed by Blind Rebels, then coming back to the extras later.

Blurring the Lines is a story of the rock & roll lifestyle taken to the extremes. Multiple characters seem to be on a self-destructive trajectory and with changing perspectives in the narrative we don’t totally know what’s going on in their heads. I’m keen now to read more of the series to learn how the characters cope in the aftermath of this story.

I particularly like Sammy, who is really doing his best to keep everyone as ok as they can be. I hope we learn more about him in the other books!

This book gets four stars from me. I’d recommend it to readers who like dark, emotional stories and are interested in the music industry.

Me being me, read the Note to the Reader and instead of reading the rest of the series first, just dove right in. It was definitely enough to make me want to read the entire series.
I was shocked through Part 1 and then Part 2 started, leaving me so intrigued that I knew I’d be ditching the rest of my tbr pole as little longer so that I could binge this series, even if I do know a few spoilers now.
I can’t wait to learn more about the guys. May may be my favorite, the twins seem complicated albeit intriguing; I don’t know if I’m ready to learn more about Sammy, it might crush me.

This is a novella the explains what lead up to the fight and the break up of the rock group The Blind Rebels. As I haven’t read any of the other books in the series it felt a little strange reading this one first. However it was enjoyable and a points a really moving story.
This story is told from the view of different members of the band along with Becka.
This was great for me because it gave me an insight into each member of the group and the issues they face. As the story progresses with the issues the band face such as drug/alcohol abuse, addiction, love and betrayal it’s not wonder it lead to a fight that separated the band.
One thing I will say is I didn’t like Becka’s character. I’m not sure if she features or gets better in the series but in this book she doesn’t come across as a nice person. All she wants is a rockstar boyfriend and even when Maverick falls completely for her that doesn’t stop her from looking for something better which I didn’t like. She was seemed never satisfied.
Overall I did enjoy this book, however I am definitely going to read the books in the series as I feel it will give me a better appreciation for this book and the characters stories.

Blurring the lines by Amy Kaybach is my first read by this author and she delivered! Sometimes when you pick up a book and it’s a prequel…you’re a little Leary if it’s contents but Amy totally rocked it with this prequel! Amy gave us warning about some of the content and what to expect and honestly…I feel like every author should do this, especially when we are starting a series. We are introduced to Mac, Callum and Becka and their points of view, and quite frankly…I love it when a book is told from multiple points of view, it gives more to the story being told. With every page and chapter, we are able to follow characters allowing to be able to dig a little deeper into each personality. The development of the characters and their role on the story felt like it all pulled together naturally and we weren’t left feeling like something was missing. I am really excited to start pick up the next books in the series and see what else Amy has created with the Blind Rebels series! Happy Reading!

In a nut shell this book is the Prequel to the Blind Rebels series and it contains some extras goodies as well. I have not read the Blind Rebels series so I found the prequel part was a great introduction to both the series and this wonderful author and her talented writing which has now made me want to read the series! The “extras” while fantastically written, they didn’t have the impact on me that I am sure they would if I had read the other books. So I will come back to this once I have read the series.

This collection of cutscenes and the novella gives you a deeper, richer view into this series. The anger I felt when Becka did all the dirty things she did!! Oh my! And she stopped taking her meds!!! I might not have liked Dom, but he was right about her.

This was a great small collection! I actually like this type of thing, when authors give you the extras you can’t get on the DVD. 😂

The novella was phenomenal. Add the extras were a blast. If you love this series, you will love this bonus! However, read with caution because you just might want to unalive/hurt/ma!m Becka. I know I did.

Was hooked from the start with this one. Nice short novella and gives a good perspective on what it’s like “behind the scenes” with a famous rock band. With fame comes drugs, sex, and manipulative fans. Who can you really trust? I loved having the different view points from Mav, Callum, and Becka. Though I didn’t trust Beckas intentions and had hoped something in her would change throughout the story. She seemed to only care about getting her name out there by dating any Rockstar that would take her. Callum has bad vibes from the get go and seems to “test her” by trying to get her attention as well. I really enjoyed this book and I am eager to dive into the other books in this series now.

Blurring the Lines & Extras (The Blind Rebels Series) by Amy Kaybach. This is the novella that explains what happens before the series begins. Its mainly focused on the behind the scenes of the band The Blind Rebels. Becka is determined to get with a rock star and have him love her and write a song about her. She originally thought she was supposed to be with Dominik from Diminished Capacity but learns really quick that he’s not he one for her. Then she meets Mav from The Blind Rebels. Mav falls quite quickly in love with Becka and takes her on the road on tour with the band. Maverick is the lead singer of the band and Callum their guitarist is on the path to destruction. Mav is very concerned about Callum not only for the band’s sake but for his life. Becka and Callum have their own chemistry so while Mav thinks Becka is the one for him Becka is always looking for the next rock star. I loved this book and the characters. Becka was not my favorite but I felt like I’ve met several women like her. Read this great book to find out what happens in the rock star world.

Blurring the Lines & Extras is a prequel novella to the Blind Rebels series by Amy Kaybach. It is a gritty, emotional, angsty, steamy, and dramatic story- and definitely not your usual rock star romance.
There are a few trigger topics covered or mentioned through the book, so if you have any concerns, I advise you to read the TWs before diving into the story (cheating, drug & alcohol use/abuse, mentions overdose leading to death, etc).
I had not read the series before diving into this book- but now wish that I had as the ‘Extras’ part especially would have been better, more impactful, if I had read the other books first. So, perhaps that has played a part in me not being able to fully connect with, or invest in, the MCs and the outcome of their story.
I also found the story a bit slow to get going, but then it felt rushed in other parts. But again, maybe that is because I had not read the other books first- so I will probably need to go back to read the series- then see if that makes a difference to my understanding and appreciation of this book- and my rating.
Stay tuned.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Amy Kaybach!

Blurring the Lines & Extras ( The Blind Series) is the prequel and gives a little glimpse into the band and the characters. This is a fast paced story that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you’ve finished. I read this story in one afternoon. The characters are developed, creative and complex as they make the story come to life. This is Becka, Mav and Cal’s story. Becka wants out of her life in Chicago and wants songs written about her by a Rock star and it doesn’t matter which one. Mav and Cal are part of the Blind Rebels and there is definitely tension between them. Cal is on a self destruction mission and isn’t wanting to talk about with anyone. Mav is worried about Cal. This story has some dark areas. .I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I don’t want to give anything away.i look forward to reading more from this Author.

I must say up front to read the author’s warning first. I found this to be an interesting read. It is a prequel to the Blind Rebels series. It’s rough, gritty and deals with some tough stuff. Mav, Callum, Becka and Sammy are well-written characters. I don’t know anything about the rock scene but I feel this was pretty realistic. This is one messed up group. I’m pretty sure that I may need to read the series because I’m left feeling like something is missing. I suggest you read it for yourself and make up your own opinion. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blurring the Lines & Extras was an interesting story. I enjoyed it to an extent, though like Callum I’m not a fan of the main female character. The author gives a story of a woman’s need to be famous and need for attention.
Becka is determined to bag a rock star. Have the focus be on her and have a song written about her.
Unfortunately Dom isn’t the man she thought he was, but it lands her in the lap of Maverick. When he invites her on tour, how can she resist? But one problem she has in her head is that she needs to do all this. But also needs to love the band but have each one love her back.
Maverick is at odds with Callum which is why he ends up right in. The arms of Becka. Becka becomes his world outside of his band Blind Rebels, but just one problem, nothing is ever easy. He has a band member who is going off the rails who has a death wish. A best friend he doesn’t know how to help, but wants to in the worst way.
When Becka gets involved she makes it so Cal can’t resist her. Not taking into account how that will impact him.
Will Maverick find out?
Will Cal be the one to spill the beans about Becka?
Or will Becka truly come clean herself?
Will Cal succeed in moving on from life?
Those questions and so many more.
Go into this story with an open heart. I don’t care for Becka’s game so I was rooting for Cal to blow it all up. Who will you get behind?

This is a two-part story of the series The Blind Rebels. This book is a novella that introduces you to what happened before the series begins. This book series follows the story of the behind-the-scenes of the band Blind Rebels. There are four members in the band: Mav; Callum; Killian; and Sammy. While you are introduced to each member, part one of the book really revolves around Mav, Callum, and Mav’s girlfriend, Becka. Becka is a basket case (who hides it well) who is after fame in any way she can find it. When things didn’t work out with a guy from another band, she quickly fell into the arms of Mav. This story is told from the perspective of each character and you learn a lot about the inner workings of the storyline. I don’t want to give anything away but there are secrets and craziness that take place, mainly due to Becka’s instability. Part two of the book starts to introduce you to the three other books in the series. Now, if you have not read the series you may feel a little lost, as I did. However, they are giving you bits and pieces of the other books to introduce a timeline.
As for a book, if you like sex, drugs, and rock & roll, with a side of crazy this is the story for you. While I thought the storyline was fine and I was interested in seeing where this was going, I never felt attached to the characters. It wasn’t that they were not interesting or good characters, but they didn’t do much for me. There is a part of me that wants to hear the other’s stories so I may go back and read them at some point. Lastly, read your trigger warnings.

Becka thought she was destined to be with Dominik from Diminished Capacity but come to find out he’s out for whatever woman he can get. That’s until she realizes he wants nothing to truly do with her, that’s when she meets Mav from Blind Rebels. Instead of just leaving her backstage Mav decides to bring her along on the rode if she wants to go. Becka is set to make a rock star hers or have a song written about her she doesn’t care how it happens or who she hurts along the way. She has been on tour with the guys for awhile now and she has had Mav fall in love with her. Mav has decided that he feels Becka is the girl for him. All of the guys in the band seem happy for them except Callum as things between him and Becka have been heating up. So what will happen when things are brought out?

This is the first book I have read by this author and in this series, but with it being a prequel I figured it was a great place to start! It feels like a cool rockstar romance, and the author warned me that it contains spoilers and I read on anyways. I love it when a book is told from multiple points of view, so this was right up my alley as we followed Mavrick, Callum, and Becka’s stories. Each chapter following one of the three characters allows me to dig a little deeper into each personality. The development of the characters and the plot felt natural and unfolded at a wonderful pace. Don’t forget to read the content warnings that the author so graciously provided for you. This is an enjoyable and engaging novella which acts as both a prequel to the series and provides extra scenes. It is written for adult readers due to the mature content. Blind Rebels are the most popular rock band in the world, with platinum albums and sell out concerts. To the onlooker the members of the band have it all, however, behind the scenes they are falling apart. Mavrick Slater is the lead singer and he is worried that guitarist Callum is on a path of self-destruction. Callum knows his best friend is concerned for him but he’s tired. He’s tired of the constant touring and of being the one who cares and so he uses drugs to give him an escape. Meanwhile, living a dismal life in Chicago is Becka. She wants a new start preferably in the arms of a rock star, and to have songs written about her. Having read this prequel and been introduced to the main characters, and felt immersed in the bands world, I am keen to start reading the Blind Rebels series.

Make sure to read the authors warning before you read this book.
Blurring the Lines: & Extras is a novella and the sequel to Blind Rebels Series. This is how the rock band, The Blind Rebels started. Also, bonus! We get several extra scenes from the Blind Rebels series.
Being a famous rock band is hard and comes with what people think of as perks but what you don’t always see is the gritty, raw, and debilitating consequences of said fame. Everything and anything you want, you got it. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and losing will cost you everything.
Amy sure knows her rock bands and her writing evokes strong emotional senses. Talk about roller coaster. She brings complex characters to life.
For anyone who loves rockstar stories but his isn’t your typical rockstar story.
