Amy's Santa: Satan's Devils MC (Second Generation) #1Amy’s Santa: Satan’s Devils MC (Second Generation) #1 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m not sure why, but I waited to read the second generation of books for a while. I thought it would be strange to see my old favorite characters all grown up and having adult children of their own. Then, I BINGED them all at once and wished I hadn’t waited so long! Maybe I have an advantage that I’m in my late 30’s, so I could easily date the Daddy or the Son…haha! But seriously, Manda is one of my favorite authors. She is incredibly talented in her genre of MC romance. This book has some possibly triggering content for some reader, but all of those REAL LIFE experiences make her books so likeable yet intriguing. A must read, as usual!

Dare I say I enjoyed this book even more than the first? This is such a great series, and I can’t get enough of it. The characters, like Bullet, have such well-written personalities. It’s like you know them personally and feel for them through their rollercoaster of a ride. This is a quick read that sucks you in from the first page, which is just this author’s amazing writing style. This book is full of action, trauma, healing, passion, and is a perfect second installment to the Grimm Wolves MC series. I couldn’t be happier!

I was completely invested in this story from the first chapter. Definitely one of those books that draws you in immediately, rather than having to force yourself to keep reading for it to get interesting. Leave it to this author to create such intriguing characters. Francis had such a heartbreaking childhood, but manages to overcome his trauma and make the best of his “abilities”. I couldn’t help but have the feeling that there were more undisclosed parts to his gift, but I’m hoping that we learn more in other books in the series. I’m definitely sticking around to find out! Nevertheless, I loved seeing him get his happily ever after, after so many challenges along the way. A must read!

Lost Soul (War of Destiny # 1)Lost Soul by Theresa Van Spankeren
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I took a chance on this book. I never heard of the author before and the cover was quite unassuming. It sat on my shelf for a bit before I delved in, but, boy I wish I started sooner. This series is looking to be one of my favorites. A true classic in the making. The author’s writing style is very simple, which would be perfect for new readers. The story itself is beautifully done. There is some tough subject matter, including some pretty horrific domestic violence. I love reading about Julia and her growth and gaining of independence, and the paranormal twist is a perfect combination. I’m happy I gave this book a chance and can’t wait to read more from this author.

I’d strongly suggest those looking to read this book read the description, disclaimer, and reviews. Leave your new age thinking at the door for a while and enjoy the story for what it is. I really enjoyed this authors writing style. The story moved smoothly and was fun to read. Lots of sexy scenes! More than I anticipated, which is great! I truly enjoyed hearing about Penny’s story. My only suggestion would be that her and her Massa’s first time be a little more detailed. There were other random scenes in the book that gave more away than the long anticipated first time! I’m so happy I picked up with book and would highly recommend.

This author is the QUEEN of dark, gritty, and intense MC romance. If violence or drug use are triggers for you, you might want to steer clear. Otherwise, don’t overlook this book! I love the strong female character and how she doesn’t let life keep her down. It reminds me of the quote, “Use your pain as fuel to make you stronger”. This is one tough chick that withstands more than anyone should have to in life, but still comes out the other side stronger. Great read!

This is my first delve into the mafia romance genre. What was I waiting for? I’m so grateful that I chose this talented author to take me along for the ride. This book had me hooked from chapter one. I love that we get to grow up with these characters, even briefly. It gives the sense that you can understand how they are the way they are. Life can do that to you, especially living the life they have. This book was exciting, intriguing, sexy, and with a strong male AND female lead. I strongly suggest this book and series!

Imperfectly Yours (Titans of Manhattan #2)Imperfectly Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This isn’t my first read by this author and it won’t be my last. This second Titans novel really caught my attention for several reasons, like the REAL life lows that aren’t often written about. It really was heartbreaking to experience the loss, tragedy, and spiral along with Elsa, but it was beautifully written. There were a few times when I wanted to strangle Anton for being so self-centered and seemingly cold towards Elsa, but he was essentially the product of his past experiences, so it’s hard to hold it against him. Otherwise, his character was quite swoon-worthy. If you are prepared for reading through some tough times, I’d strongly suggest this book to anyone. Great read!

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Brittany Porter

You did it again! This author always writes a great story that I can’t wait to read. Slick and Ella go through so many heartbreaking ups and downs throughout this story. This author has a way to get in your head and give the reader the feeling that they are facing the hurdles right along with the characters. The only thing that I just can’t seem to get past is how quickly Slick seemed to fall for Ella and claim her. I almost felt like I was missing a chapter or a stretch of time there somewhere. Nevertheless, I loved the story. Though audiobooks are not my typical go-to, I thought I’d give it a go. The narrators really seem to fit and their varying tones really bring life to the characters. They don’t just drone on, which leads to my losing interest. I’d definitely pick up another audiobook done by these narrators.

It’s impossible to go wrong with this author or this series. I’m thrilled to be brought back into the Consulate and meet another Master. While each of these books could be read as a standalone, I love that we learn a bit more with each installment and get a peek back into our beloved past characters. This author truly is a master of her own right with creating otherworldly delicious characters and sucking the reader into another world of her own making. If you like your male characters to be dark, dominant, sexy, and passionate, read this entire series now!

This book really is quite a masterpiece. It’s one thing for an author to write a good story, but quite another for an author to bring the reader into her characters head and make you question your own thoughts and beliefs. The mind can be a beautifully chaotic place, and this author really knows how to take the reader along for an exciting ride through it. The beginning seemed a little slow, but ultimately it was clear that it was necessary to build up the intricate storyline and get the reader engaged. If you are on the fence about psychological thrillers or reading this book, don’t hesitate. Such a memorable read!

This is the first I’ve read from this author and really my first historical fiction. I’ve never been a history buff, but I feel like I learned more reading this novel than I remember from history class, and it kept me hooked from the first chapter. I’m quite shocked that this is a new author, as her writing is well-researched, detailed, gripping, and incredibly thought-provoking. The character development of Anna was very well done and you could easily feel like you were going on her adventure with her. If you enjoy long and descriptive novels that will keep you yearning for more, grab this book!

Going into this understanding that it was a quick read, I wasn’t as disappointed with the length, as some readers mentioned. And really, wanting to read more is a GOOD thing. If it was a poorly written book, I’d be happy to put it down. However, I was so intrigued and inspired by the insight and activities in this book, that I didn’t want to put the book down at all. I feel like I could even use some of these activities in my daily practice as a School Nurse during vision screenings and counseling sessions. I love reading about different disabilities and their adventures in the world from the perspective of an actual disabled person. Please read!

I’m not going to waste your time retelling the synopsis, since you all can read, but if you want an honest opinion on this book, read along. So, let me just start with my concern going into this book. While I do love a good contemporary romance with the alpha Billionaire, forced proximity, childhood friend to lover story, I was truly worried that this would be the typical cookie cutter storyline and not catch my attention. Boy, was I wrong! This author really had a way with words and character development that lead me to feel a real attachment to the characters, despite their quirks…or maybe because of their quirks! Paisley isn’t so easily swept off of her feet as Caspian was hoping. She’s strong, witty, and so very likeable. I’m looking forward to reading about other Titans in other books in this series. I enjoyed the little sneak peeks that this book offered to keep me wanting for more. Great read!

I’m trying to think of the best word to describe this book…intense?? Intense and addicting for sure. I went into this knowing about the possible triggers and violent storyline. Right up my alley for sure. Some might think of a character such as Liz as weak and broken, but she is such a strong a resilient character in my eyes. This author definitely shines at character development and building a gripping world that the reader gets easily sucked into. This would have made a great series, as I’m a sucker for detailed long stories, but this quick read surely didn’t lack any important aspects. I’d strongly suggest this author, as long as the reader knows what they are getting into and enjoys a good dark romance.

While I was hoping to get a different experience from this book, I did enjoy the journey this author takes the reader on. There are no actual spells or conjuring taught, which I was really hoping for, this book prepares the reader to get into the right headspace to be open to living a more magical lifestyle. I’d be open to reading more from this author, as she seems to be very knowledgeable in the subject.

This book is not at all what I expected, but in the best way possible. The author’s writing style has a way of keeping you hanging on to every word on the page. What a rollercoaster of emotions! I’ve never been a very emotional person while reading, but this book had me going through a serious roller coaster of grief and elation. I just wanted to reach through the page and strangle Will at some points and hold him close at others. Tori is so good for him. I hope everything works out for them. I can’t wait for part 2!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Manda Mellett and the Satans Devils MC novels rarely disappoint. Every book in this series reads as a stand-alone, due to the clear details written, but also bring you right back into the MC family with each new book. We heard about Red briefly in other books, but his history was a mystery until now. I loved reading about his journey through growing up too soon in a small northeastern town to becoming the MC Prez of the Vegas chapter. What a wild ride! I would have preferred this to have been a single part book, but that’s only because I can’t wait to read more about how things turn out for Red. Anxiously awaiting part 2!

Totally new author and genre for me! I’ve always loved edgy romances, but Victoria Zak really unexpectedly drew me into this rockstar romance. Joe’s character is just a likable and ultra cool dude and Mel is a strong character on her own, but their chemistry together makes for a great read. I love the character development of these two and found myself getting sucked in, attached, and emotional throughout their struggles. I’m totally rooting for them! Where’s part 2??

A Divided Mind (The Divided Series Book 1) by M. Billiter – Review by Brittany Porter

A Divided MindA Divided Mind by M. Billiter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Divided Mind is a fictional story about a teenage boy facing worsening mental illness and schizophrenia. We also some deep insight into how such a diagnosis affects the loved ones around him, such as his Mother, twin brother, siblings, and girlfriend. I’ve always been intrigued by psychology and this book really took me on an unexpected journey of emotions. Having known people with schizophrenia, I found myself getting very attached to Branson throughout the book. I was really cheering for him and hoping he could still achieve at least part of him dreams of going to college, joining the armed forces, and even just being an average teenage boy. Some parts of this story really broke my heart, but I do feel it was a very realistic representation of what could happen to someone in a similar situation. I can’t stop thinking about the ending and how things end up for Branson. I hope we get a part 2!

I knew I had to go back and read this MC series from the beginning and I wasn’t left disappointed. I just love a strong female character. It was so exciting to see Wraith help Sophie to blossom back into her sassy self after suffering the loss of her leg. If you haven’t tried this author, and you enjoy rough, dominant bikers and strong, intriguing female characters, this is the perfect place to start!

I would strongly recommend this book and author to anyone that enjoys a good steamy, dramatic, and emotional romance. I’m not even an emotional person, but parts of this book had me so drawn into the characters and what they were feeling and experiencing, that even I was tearing up. The character development in this book is so very well done. I’m a nurse and could totally totally relate to Charlie’s rough shifts in the ER and how she needed to vent afterwards at times. It was so satisfying to see Tank grow and mature throughout the book. It’s great to see a strong woman bring the best out in a man. Must read!

Loving this second book in the Masters of the Consulate series. The author just has a way with her writing that I can’t get enough of! They’re fairly short books, but they all get right to the action without skipping out on any important details. Master Tuscano and Delilah’s steamy relationship evolves and deepens beautifully throughout the story. I also love the introduction of other mythical creatures, such as witches and ghouls. Book 1 of the Masters of the Consulate series, Master Descallia, truly captivated my interest in this new author. Her writing is beautifully done, with wonderful character development. It’s always impressive when you really get a feel for the unique personalities of multiple characters in such a short book (I want to read more about Embry!). The beginning wasn’t too drawn out and the action started immediately after a brief opening. Master Descallia is a strong and domineering character and I can certainly see why Luce is so drawn to him! Must read!

As much as the cliffhanger in part 1 killed me, part 2 of Avenging Devil was absolutely worth the wait. The darker storyline in this part of the series is right up my alley and kept you on the edge of your seat. All of the twists and turns with, not only Saffie and Niran, but Mary and Grumbler, made it impossible to put this book down until the end. There really couldn’t have been a better ending to this story. So very well written! A must read!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Of the other Satan’s Devils MC books, this one is definitely more my style. This book is filled with dark moments and traumatic storylines, which may not be for some readers. And the cliffhanger is killing me! However, don’t let all of that scare you and miss out on this evolving and riveting story of Niran and Saffie. Niran was an intriguing character in the other books in this series, where we learned that he is an ex-marine and an amputee, but I always got the sense that his story would be worth the wait. In Avenging Devil, Niran wasn’t even out looking for love. He was only helping out his club and a friend, which is SO Niran. However, he stumbled upon Saffie, whom certainly wasn’t in any shape for romance, but Niran refuses to let her slip away. I cannot wait to find out how the rest of this story unfolds in part 2!

Being Lost is the first book in this riveting series about the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devils MC. I can’t get enough of the way that Manda Mellett paints such a detailed and realistic picture of her fictional worlds and takes the reader along for the ride. This story has many different mysterious plots and aspects that slowly unfold throughout the book, which keeps the reader on their toes. Lost is certainly one sexy Silver Fox and it was exciting to get a peek into his head and watch his transformation throughout the book, from an unsure man that is always second-guessing himself to a much stronger character, as the relationship between him and Patsy develops. You’ve got to love when a good woman brings out the best in her man. I can’t wait to binge-read more from this talented author!

Grave Digger AcademyGrave Digger Academy by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Grave Digger Academy really sets the stage for what seems like will be a unique, fun, and magical new fictional world. Just enough detail is given to the reader to give a clear visual of the world the author is inviting us into, without the length of some other similar stories. You’re kept on your toes throughout the book, wondering what trouble Makayla is going to get herself into next during her stay at the Grave Digger Academy. This academy certainly wasn’t her first choice, but it seems that there was more at play in deciding her fate than Makayla was ever aware of, and I personally can’t wait to find out more of the back story and see where her magical training takes her. Must read!
