No Way Out (Mafia Elite, book 1) by Amy Mckinley- reviewed by Brittney Brady

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I will start by saying that I am not usually a fan of mafia books, but the synopsis of this book sounded too good to pass up.  And I am so glad that I chose to read it!

Lily is everything a mafia princess should be. She is tough, takes no BS, and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and the people she loves. Max was a pleasant surprise in a house where she can trust nothing and no one. While I do think that she trusts him a little too easily, it works for them. It also has a happy ending, which is a big plus for me.

I enjoyed this novel. Chloe’s story is just beginning with this book and what a beginning it was. Chloe and Quintus under take a journey to save the fae and the journey had many twists and turns. I loved how they found each other and continued to fight and struggle to do the right thing. The author created a really interesting story and I look forward to reading the next installment of the series.

The Mermaid and the Ice Cube Necklace (Mermaid Science) by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Jamie Truex

Another cute story about Maia, her friend Fig and her imaginary mermaid friend Trezzie. My granddaughter loves these because of the mermaid, but I like the fact that it teaches you about science. Very cute book for young children.
