I Loved You Yesterday (Trading Heartbeats Trilogy Book 1) by Julie Navickas – Review by Caitlin Weiss

I Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats TrilogyI Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy by Julie Navickas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved you yesterday is a great romance book. Mavis went through something horrible and hasn’t seen her high school sweetheart Josh in ten years. The story is all about second chances with your first love. Mavis and Josh find their way back to each other, which is satisifying to a hopeless romantic like me. Their relationship changed over the years for the better. I love that the book talked about a miscarriage because not many people talk about how that affects women. That is a very real issue that a lot of women have gone through. I loved you yesterday is a book for people who love romance movies and sappy love songs.

Euphoric Wonderland By Ryan M. Becker-Review by Caitlin Weiss

Euphoric Wonderland: An Eclectic Collection of Psychedelic Poetry to Stimulate the Senses and Open the MindEuphoric Wonderland: An Eclectic Collection of Psychedelic Poetry to Stimulate the Senses and Open the Mind by Ryan M. Becker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Euphoric Wonderland is a great collection of poems about the author’s personal life, the power of music and other things. I enjoyed the poems about his love for the Beatles, the one where music has helped his life, the one that talks about different guitars and the last poem in the collection. I love that he put “music’s finding the beat that only you can hear” in one of the poems. That is such a great powerful line about how music affects everyone in different ways. Ryan Becker has come up with unique verses about his struggles and his musical interests that help readers relate to everyday life. The pop culture references in the poems are great (crazy train, Yesterday etc). Euphoric Wonderland is for music lovers and people that love the Beatles.

Ashes (Modern-Day Fairytale Book 1) by Mk Harkins-Review by Caitlin Weiss

Ashes (Modern-Day Fairy Tale, #1)Ashes by M.K. Harkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ashes is a great modern day retelling of Cinderella. Ashley doesn’t believe in love. She pushes people away before Ashley can be rejected. This story still has the evil stepmother and stepsisters from the original Cinderella. This time, they are more diabolical by using baked goods to kill people. Thankfully, Ashley meets Harry, her prince charming. I love that their relationship survives all of the obstacles that are thrown their way. Also enjoyed the fact that Ashley’s friend Laura was actually a fairy that helped her find love. Ashes is great for anyone who loves fairytales and romance books.

Blood Sector is a great paranormal romance with two characters that are both stubborn. Quinn is trying to figure out what happened to her parents years ago when she meets Kieran. She fights her attraction for him for a very long time. Eventually, Quinn realizes that Kieran is her soulmate. I love the lore in this story about the different kinds of werewolves. I like when an author puts information in a novel that is unique to that world. Blood Sector is great for people who love werewolves and romance.

Bake Happy (Bake Believe Series) By Cori Cooper- Review by Caitlin Weiss

Bake HappyBake Happy by Cori Cooper
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bake Happy is a great and funny book filled with comedy and recipes. Cat is a fourteen year old girl who is sarcastic and loves to bake. Her family has this gift where they can bake something and make people feel certain emotions. One day, Cat loses the ability to bake her feelings and she gets upset. Eventually, she realizes that people don’t need to feel happy in order to make the world a better place. Helping others is more beneficial than getting them to feel certain emotions. As a fellow baker, I love that the author included recipes for the baked goods at the end of every chapter. Bake happy is great for someone who loves comedy movies and baking.

Caged Fire (The Vigilant Book 1) By LM Preston- Review by Caitlin Weiss

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Caged Fire is a story that is filled with werewolves, action and romance. Emvee thought that she had lost her family but it turns out that they were captured by the Overlord. The Overlord is the villian in this story who wants to take over the Earth Realm and the Void where humans and people with magical abilties get trapped. There is a lot of lore in this story that is unique such as the women being soul trainers who are strong, fierce warriors. Whereas, the men are soul thiefs who are forced to do the Overlord’s bidding. Unlike most romance stories, there is alot of action in this book but the fight scenes were very cool and descriptive. Emvee and Kayson’s relationship develops throughout the story. So when the time comes for them to finally be together, the reader can give a deep sigh of relief. Caged Fire is a great book for someone who loves action movies and the paranormal.

Key to His Heart By Kristina Beck-Review by Caitlin Weiss

Key To His HeartKey To His Heart by Kristina Beck
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Key to His Heart is a great romance story about two people who have had pain in the past and they fall in love. Katrina has had her heart broken. She meets TJ and there is an instant connection between them. Towards the middle of the book, TJ and Katrina realize that they are soulmates. They were destined to be together. This story has a great happily ever after ending with TJ and Katrina having a family. I love that TJ proposed to Katrina with a key necklace instead of a ring. That was a very unique way to show how much he loved her. I also like that the author used her own struggles with epilepsy in the story with Katrina. Not many people talk about the mental health issues that people have. I didn’t realize that there were four different types of epilepsy either. I recommend anyone that loves romance books and is a hopeless romantic to read this story.

Castor’s Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars Book 2) by Tai James-Reviewed by Caitlin Weiss

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Castor’s Kiss is a great science fiction romance about two people that find each other. Mia Grey has been tortured and watched someone close to her die. Castor has forced himself not to have a soulmate because his family didn’t believe in things like that. They meet and their attraction is instant the second they lock eyes. This book has action, drama and romance. Mia and Castor get into battle with other people that are enemies. The fight scenes are great and detailed, letting me picture what the conflicts are in my head. The author does a great job with world building by creating futuristic planets for the book and different characters that are unique for the story. I recommend anyone who loves sci-fi and enjoys romance to read Castor’s Kiss. This book is a great example of true love and how there is someone out there for everyone.

Enchanted in Time By Nikki Lynn Barrett-Review by Caitlin Weiss

Enchanted in TimeEnchanted in Time by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Enchanted in Time is a great story filled with romance, suspense and mystery. Roxanne has dealt with loss in her life. As a distraction, she goes to live with an elderly woman who is a writer named Claudette. I loved the conversations that the two had about writing characters as a fellow author. This was not a typical romance because the story wasn’t just about two people falling in love. Roxanne did meet and fall in love with Phillip but the book also dealt with her relationship with Claudette. This was an interesting change of pace for me. Also, Phillip is from a different time period which gives the story a science fiction aspect. Overall, Enchanted in Time is about people who have suffered great loss in their lives and how they overcome said loss. This story also showed that you can have hope when things seem bleak. I recommend this book for anyone who is into romantic science fiction. Reviewed by @cw31

As Close to PerfectAs Close to Perfect by Maria Jane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As Close to Perfect is a great love story about two people who have been hurt in the past. Bree has not had good relationships with men. Then, she meets Nate and he helps her walls come down. At first, she resists her feelings for him. But, the more time they spend together, the more the two of them realize that they were destined for each other. The story builds on Bree and Nate’s chemistry and when they finally get together, the tension is relieved. I loved seeing the progression of their relationship from first date to everything in between. The ending was beautiful and showed that true love always leads to happily ever after. I recommend that every woman who has ever been in a bad relationship and loves romance movies to read this book. You will not be disappointed. This story proves that there is someone out there for everyone.
