Born to fight was an excellent read, one that fully immerses you in the story! I was thoroughly enthralled in the book, unable to put it down. While this is the first for me from this author and the first in the series I surely will be watching for more!

This book had me hooked. Imagine: America has fallen. UNR has taken over and wants all the power. Rain has lived on her own, off the grid, for nearly 2 years. She has a bunker she transformed in a home of sorts. She was content with this life. Till one day when she found one of the Resistance leaders. Bloody. Left for dead. What does she do now? Oh, this book was so good! I hope it hooks any reader! Ready for the next book!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! The post-apocalyptic world headed by a tyrannical government reminded me a bit of “The Handmaid’s Tale.” However, I wish there was more information regarding life under the UNR or even a more detailed explanation of how they came into power. That being said, I really enjoyed the characters in this story. Rain and Hunter are both strong characters who have faced a lot in their lifetime. Their chemistry really saved this book for me! I would be interested in reading more in the series to find answers to my lingering questions about the UNR and the Resistance.

Born to fight is the first book in the can’t resist you series by Brittany Anne. Hunter is a resistance fighter who is determined to bring down the UNR but when on a mission with two guys who still need training he ends up in a fight to stay alive. With deadly wounds he manages to make it to the river before passing out. There is where Rain stumbles upon him and rushes to save his life only to worry later if it was a mistake. Rain has been living on her own in a hidden bunker alone. When hunter wakes up after a week he instantly notices the chemistry between them. Rain and hunter’s story keeps you entertained and makes you want more. I enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the next installment of the series.

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You Book 1) by Brittany Anne – Review by Allyson Ware
Throughout the entirety of this novel I felt like I was engrossed in a movie. If someone were to make this book into a movie, I WILL be the first person in line for tickets. The way Hunter and Rain find each other and love each other through their flaws and misgivings is a love that all of us hope to have one day. “For you, I can do anything.”
With a career in Victim Advocacy, I felt like Rain’s abuse was depicted accurately. While everyone experiences and handles trauma differently, I felt like it was not just brushed over in this novel. I will be re-reading, then again, and then probably a third or fourth time. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

Terrific series starter This was an unexpected surprise. I was intrigued by the synopsis but I really didn’t think that I would be so drawn in so quickly by the story. The story moved along at an easy pace and the world building was brilliant. I became quickly invested with the characters and their plight. This story has it all – suspense, romance, action and drama all presented in a world that could one day be our future. I really enjoyed the multiple POV as this gives a good balance to the story. Looking forward to reading book 2.

After the Fall, the UNR came to power and took over everything. Submit and follow along or be executed, that was the law. Anna escaped and has been hiding out for two years. Life was simple all alone, but then she saw him. She could tell he was a soldier, but he was also about to die. Anna drags his body back to her safeplace to help him. What is she thinking? She doesn’t even know who he is. One thing she is certain of, he is not UNR, but who is he? Could he be one of THEM? Could he help her? She had heard stories of the Resistance, but never believed they were real, until now. Born to Fight is a post-apocalyptic story of fighting for what you believe in. It is the first of the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne.

I was hooked from the start and finished this book in one sitting! A post-apocalyptic story after “The Fall” where the UNR controls the communities and the people live like slaves. Hunter, one of the main characters, is part of the Resistance, which is trying to help the people. Rain, the other main character, is living a solitary life hidden in a bunker. When they meet the story takes off and is full of action, fighting, humor, and steamy romance. I liked the flashbacks to learn more about the characters. I liked picturing the bunker, the resistance HQ, the UNR compound, and the forests. An overall great read!

What an amazing first book! If the first book is any indication of this series, this is going to be an amazing series.
The United States fell and is now under the control of the UNR. The UNR controls everything within its borders. That is everything except The Resistance. Hunter Kane was born to a soldier, a former SEAL. His father trained him to be a soldier in every aspect from birth. As one of the leaders of The Resistance, his mission is to take out the UNR starting at the top with Governor Allan. That is until he tries to save a woman and gets attacked by UNR soldiers and left for dead.
Rain ran away from hell two years ago. She escaped a controlling father and a controlling and abusive husband. She found a bunker and has been hiding out. One day trying to get some water from the river she finds a man left for dead. Using all of her strength, she brings him back to her bunker to try and save him.
Little do they both know that they each hold a key to the other’s destiny.

Born to Fight is book one in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne. This is a science fiction romance, and while I don’t tend to read this genre, this story was really quite mesmirising. Extremely dramatic and sexy, the chemistry between the leading characters was explosive and steamy. A sweary, sweaty seduction set in a post-apocalyptic time that was imaginative and cleverly written. This author is new to me and I went in with a very open mind. I think I have found another trope to sink into. I am looking forward to reading more of her work. Born to Fight was a gripping and exciting tale that had me totally invested and desperate for more. A real page turner. 4 stars.

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You Book 1) by Brittany Anne is an apocalyptic dystopian romance story. It is a tale that makes you think that their reality could in fact one day be our reality. This gripping tale had me turning page after page as I was riveted to the story. I was in the zone and completely oblivious to anything around me. So much so I realised hubby was walking away from me shaking his head. Anyhoo, this wonderful story is full of action and danger, drama and suspense, adventure, and mystery. You can feel the passion of Brittany’s words as you journey through the lies and secrets, hope and frustrations, pain, and sorrow of the characters.
Can enemies become more? Grab this book to find out.

Resistance leader Hunter Kane was trained from birth to be the ultimate soldier. He has one purpose and one purpose alone: take down the UNR. After a near-fatal attack and a narrow escape from death’s door, Hunter finds his world turned upside down. He spent his entire life as a killer. A soldier. A savior? An emotionless robot with one job. But he can’t fight the feeling he gets when he stares into the eyes of the woman who saved his life. He was born to be a fighter, but suddenly, he’s not so sure that’s enough for him. What will Hunter choose when he must decide between his purpose and his heart?
Rain had not seen another human being in two years since she’d stowed herself away in an ancient bunker, content to live out her days in hiding. When when she stumbles upon a man caked in blood and barely breathing, she knows instantly that her entire world is about to change. Rain spent her whole life dreaming of the Resistance only to be thrown into it by the man who started it all, but how will he react when he finds out who she truly is? Rain desperately believes in their cause, and believes in the sparks flying between her and Hunter even more.
Can they really find happiness in this world that’s fallen apart, or will Rain’s secrets destroy them both and end the Resistance once and for all?
Brittany Anne is a hopeless romantic and an unrelenting dreamer, forever shoving logic aside for the sake of love and “happily ever after.”
She is a romance writer, dabbling in multiple sub-genres including contemporary romance and romantic suspense. No matter what the subgenre, all of her stories include sexy heroes, strong heroines, and sparks that fly off the page.
When she isn’t writing, you can find Brittany reading steamy romance novels, swimming at the beach, making her own candles, and loving life with her very own alpha hero.

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You, #1) by Brittany Anne was a raw, too real, feels gripping, post-apocalyptic read, that had me hooked from start to finish.
Wow what a read! My first read by this author and I am impressed, more than impressed I just found a treasure and I need more. This sci-fi dystopian read is unique, original and it is hooking. The tone, and writing rhythm has a oomph that instantly pulls you into the story. It’s been awhile since a dystopian has hooked me like this, and it has rekindled a lost love that I didn’t know was gone.
Told in multi POV we get this tale from both our MC’s, and seeing it that way, especially this type of romance, really adds na extra layer of realism, and gets you more connected to this characters. There is a weird magic about it, and frankly I believe that all romance no matter what genre should be told in dual POV. It’s proven in the way this story was executed.
Now outside of the love plot the world building was pretty freaking cool. It paints a devastating picture of what could happen if we lose our insta world connecting, electricity and satellites. It makes you feel the dread, and adds a very dark and gritty element, making the love plot that much more raw and compelling.
Overall this book is a must read, it has everything you’ve been wanting in a, or better yet it has everything you didn’t know you wanted in a post-apocalyptic romance, that may be doomed before it even starts. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will not be able to put this book down once you start.

Born To Fight is the first book in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne. I had never read any of this author’s work before and after reading Born To Fight I’ll definitely be reading more. Born To Fight is the story of Hunter and Rain who are thrown together when Rain saves Hunter’s life after a brutal attack from enemy forces. Hunter is the leader of the resistance who are trying to take back power from the UNR who are in control of the USA. The chemistry between Hunter and Rain is instant. Rain has lived in a bunker alone for 2 years after escaping from her brutal husband, the leader of the UNR. Rain keeps her identity a secret as she’s scared of what would happen if the resistance knew her true identity. This story had me gripped from the very first page and continued to keep me gripped right up to the very end. There are so many twists and turns, just when you think you know what’s going to happen, the author shocks you and takes you on a different journey. Both Hunter and Rain are very strong characters and have suffered so much adversity in their lives. You really can’t help rooting for them and hoping that they will get their happily ever after. Having thoroughly enjoyed Born To Fight, I’m really looking forward to see what the next instalment in this series brings.

This is Hunter’s and Rain’s story. This couple is facing a ton of adversity. Rain is stronger than knows and brave. Hunter has faced his own traumas, but with the support of his chosen brothers, he has become a force to overcome oppression. Love was never to be part of their story, but they found each other and must fight for each other. I very much loved Rain and Hunter as well as their story. I also loved meeting Hunter’s brothers and members of their community. It has pulled me into the story, and I cannot wait for more of this series! I very recommend it!

Born to Fight is Book 1 in The Can’t Resist You Series from author Brittany Anne, this is my first read from this author and after being introduced to her writing style and incredibly captivating read – I cannot wait to see what else she brings to Book 2 and anything else she writes.
The synopsis of this read definitely intrigued me just for the pure fact that it’s a dystopian read but this read felt so much more real and deeper than normal dystopian reads, it left me wanting more and Brittany Anne did not disappoint. She has created two amazing characters that you can’t help but love and want to discover more of their story and the journey they take. This read is fast paced, action packed and full of suspense. I love how Rain and Hunter are thrown together and immediately they have a connection, both of these develop a connection that is right for the both of them! They are both strong, independent characters that are trying to carry on surviving in this world, is it something they can do together?
This read was mentally visual – I could imagine everything while reading it which made me even more connected to the read and the characters. Another great thing with this read was the secondary characters, they helped tell this story to an even bigger level as well as impacting Hunter & Rain’s journey.
This was an incredible read that I couldn’t put down and read in one sitting – it was completely compelling and addictive and I can’t wait for Book 2. I highly recommend this read! Don’t miss this amazing start to what I believe will be an incredibly action-packed, thrilling series!

Born to Fight was my first book by Brittany Anne. I recently came across this book, and let’s just say that I was surprised and amazed by it. I went in to this book knowing that it was different and with an open mind. And let’s just say that I’m glad I did so. I love coming across new authors that can write good content and can capture my attention.
The author did a really good job in creating such a captivating world and storyline with well-developed characters. Characters that reel you in and refuse to let you go. I’m excited to see where this series will, and how else it will develop.

Born to Fight is the first book in the Can’t Resist You series. The main story can be read as a standalone. The epilogue leaves things open for subsequent stories.
A resistance fighter and a woman on the run, what could possibly go wrong? Everything. When Hunter is faced with death, he is saved by a stranger. He has lived his life fighting and relationships have been low to non-existent on his priority list, but the woman who saved him stirs up emotions he didn’t know he could still feel. At a crucial time in the Resistance movement, Hunter is losing focus.
Rain has been in solitude for two years, thankful to be alive. She takes a big risk when she finds a man near death and decides to help him. When she learns about who he is, she wants to be honest with him about who she is, but she doesn’t want to risk being sent back to her past life. She’d do anything to avoid that, including lie to the man she is falling in love with. Her lies may destroy everything Hunter has sacrificed everything for.
The only thing about this story that was a bit vague is what the motivation for the Fall is. The story starts after it has already happened, but it isn’t clear on what the catalyst was that initiated the conflict. I’m guessing this may be talked about more in the stories that follow.
Born to Fight has secrets, danger, love, betrayal, adventure, and a happy (but ill-timed) surprise around Chapter 13. As mentioned in the synopsis, this book is definitely intended for adult readers. If you are triggered by violence against women, this might not be the book for you; otherwise, get a cup of tea and settle in!

5 Stars
I went in to this story unsure, but the synopsis had me curious so had to give it a try. It happened in the first chapter…I was hooked. It didn’t take long to fall in love with the writing style of this author and I could not put this book down. It was fast moving and kept my attention throughout.
This is a new author to me and I can not wait for the 2nd of this series and am so excited to find out who the next story will be about, I have a feeling who it might be but then afraid that is too obvious lol
I love the story that is building and am really afraid of the future and what is still to come for these people of the Resistance, I don’t normally read dystopian novels because they are sometimes way out there or hard to imagine but recently I’ve read a couple, this one included where it feels a little more real and is a bit scary yet so fascinating I can’t stop reading. The way the flashbacks were done was simply spot on, this is something I normally do not enjoy but in this one it worked perfectly. Hunter and Rain were amazing characters that I fell in love with immediately and the secondary characters have me completely hooked so can not wait for each of them to get their own story.
This was an awesome read and I was able to read it in one sitting and I highly recommend it!

Oooohhhh!!!! I am going to love, love, love, this series!! Everything from the gorgeous cover to the tantalizing story on the pages behind it was perfect. I had never read anything from Brittany Anne before, but I can promise it will not be my last. I am impatiently waiting for the next installment in this series now, and I do believe I will be checking out her other novel(s) in the meantime.
Now I will say, a few years ago you would not have found me reading a dystopian or post-apocalyptic novel, ever. I am so happy I have branched out. I really have discovered some amazing new authors and a few rare gems that I would have missed out on. “Born to Fight” is definitely one of those.
There is a lot going on in this story, but never once was I overwhelmed with anything. It was told with grace and precision and flowed beautifully. I was gripped by the action and well engrossed with the multi-layer storylines. I also enjoyed the fact that it was written in a multi-point of view as well.
Rain is strong and independent. She has to be after spending two years alone and fending for herself in a bunker. One day everything she knows is turned upside down when she stumbles upon a badly injured man by the river near her bunker. She finds out that he is in dire need and feels that she must take him back to her bunker and help tend to him.
Hunter is the wounded man’s name. As he heals and the two begin to know each other they both begin to feel something for each other. There just happens to be a few problems here with that. Hunter shouldn’t feel anything for anyone let alone Rain. Rain has some secrets that she is keeping and it could put them both at risk. What will happen when they find themselves in the face of danger? When secrets are revealed? Can either of them find happiness? Will it be with each other? I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book!

Born to Fight is the first instalment of the dystopian-romance series, Can’t Resist You. It follows Hunter and Rain, who are thrown together after a deadly attack on Hunter’s life. There is instant chemistry between these two and that is what makes this book so addictive. If you’re a fan of dystopian reads, this is definitely one for you.
We meet Hunter in the midst of him saving a woman from an attack by UNR soldiers. So basically, Hunter is a hero. Cue swoon. Then we learn he’s part of the resistance. Cue bigger swoon. A strong, rebel? Sign me up for one! Hunter is an instantly memorable character who I was immediately drawn to and hooked on. I had so many questions about how he got to where he was, I couldn’t read fast enough to get to the flashbacks about his past with this father and the rest of the resistance. While he is technically the ‘enemy’, he most definitely the hero of this read. I love reads like this, but mostly when we see things from the side of those rebelling against the state. This makes for a much more interesting read and, let’s be honest, all of us have a little rebel in us. And that is why I loved Rain so much. Not only is she a strong, independent woman (yes!), she also knows what she wants. When it is thrown right in front her in the form on Hunter, she panics, like all of us would! I loved seeing their relationship develop of the course of the story, both physically and emotionally.
This book is full of suspense. While there is the fear of the UNR at every corner, the biggest stressor for me was waiting for Rain to find out the truth about Hunter. I actually found myself reading super fast to reach that moment, as I just couldn’t handle the stress! No spoilers here, but prepare yourself for some serious action!
I really enjoyed Born to Fight and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. It falls perfectly into the dystopian-romance genre, one which so many people love. Add this to your to-read list and it will not disappoint!

I really, really enjoyed this book! When I first looked at the blurb I honestly wasn’t sure what kind of read I was in for so I was intrigued and that intrigue paid off, it was a very, good read and a great introduction to a new to me author. I’ve read a few sci-fi books however it is still a genre that is quite new to me. Born to Fight dragged me in almost straight away, the authors writing style was engaging and her descriptive language particularly good. There was a good mix of genres really in the story and everything melded together really well. The author used multiple points of view to tell the story which I’ll be honest I love! I love seeing things from different characters perspectives and I felt like I really knew the characters, Hunter and Rain really well. There were some good twists and turns in the story that definitely meant my interest was kept form beginning to end. It was nice to read something a little different and also something I found unpredictable. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

Born to Fight by Brittany Anne is the first book in her Can’t Resist You series. This book will have you hooked from the start and on the edge of your seat. For me this book was so good because it was so believable. It is easy to picture how the scenario in this book could come to odd. The writing had be enthralled in what was happening. The characters were great as well. Hunter and Rain are both just trying to find ways o survive in this new world. And yet one thing they overlooked is the need to have someone on your side. Their connection was great. It was obvious to see right away and was convincing all the way through the book. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I am looking forward r exploring more of her work!

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You Book 1) By: Brittany Anne 5 out of 5 stars
The story Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You Book 1) by Brittany Anne is a military romance book. It is a story that caught my attention from the very beginning and I found myself not able to put it down until I had finished it. It is a story that has moments of suspense that had me wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the characters of Hunter Kane and Rain. Hunter is a resistance fighter. That is what he has always been trained to be. He has never thought of being anything or anyone else. That is until he meets Rain. Rain is a woman in hiding. She is also caring and compassionate as when Hunter needs her help despite knowing nothing about him she takes care of him. Hunter is finding that Rain is changing the plans that he once had no question of. Rain is a woman that has a secret. When and if that secret is revealed will it spell the end for Rain and Hunter? The Resistance opposes the UNR, a group that she shown themselves to not value lives and have their own agenda. On a mission that will have the Resistance fighting the UNR who will prevail? Will the Resistance meet its match and meet their end? What will happen with Hunter and Rain? Will they find themselves planning their future together? Read this book to find out. The emotions and sparks between Hunter and Rain are high and the way that they kiss is electric. I grew to love them with each chapter that I read and I was rooting for them. I wanted them to be happy. I enjoyed reading about the background information that is given and also about the other characters that you are introduced to. This is a wonderfully written story with amazing characters. It is a book that I would recommend reading.
