This second chance at love romance was just what I was looking for. Two single parents are brought together through work and hit it off. They of course run into obstacles as all single parents do when trying to have a relationship. Throw work and life in the mix and there is no telling what can happen. I really loved how the characters were very relatable. I like reading from both characters’ point of view. I think it really made for a better read. Bailey and Fox were my kind of characters. I look forward to reading more from this author!

Fearless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, #5)Fearless Love by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have loved this series so much! Now you do not have to read the books in order but I highly recommend you do to get the full story of the Bennett family. This has been the best series. It has everything from sweet love to drama and some steamy scenes. This is the final book in the series and it has been a great ride. In this one we get to know more about James and he has such a compassionate heart. I laughed every time I read his nickname that Sara gave him, like out loud so that my household looked at me funny. This book really took everything home and made it complete. Of course I would always love to read more about this family but am good with how it ended. I cannot recommend this series enough! This author has a way with writing that feel good romance.

This was a great cozy mystery! I have just recently started to read more of this genre and was not disappointed with this one. I didn’t realize until after I started this book that this was the second one in the series but honestly felt like I was able to keep up. I plan on going back and reading the first book because I love the characters and atmosphere of the story. The author’s easy writing style made for an enjoyable read. I really really like Christy’s character and how she manages to get people to talk to her when they come into her bookstore. Also love the name of her store! This classic who done it read was right up my alley and I definitely look forward to reading more from this author.

I couldn’t put this book down, it was so fast paced! I love a good supernatural mystery and it was based in the place I was born. It described New Orleans very well and I really enjoyed the main character. Juliet works at a job that she loves but when she loses that job and has to figure out a curse before time runs out things really start moving. I really liked reading about a city I have been to and the curses that are there. The author has a great writing style and I will definitely be reading more from her.

I love this author’s writing style so I was very excited to jump into this romance! I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers romance. Mira is just starting out in her new job and is already not excited about her office mate. Then she meets her boss and he is also someone from her past. When a line is crossed Mira uses it to her advantage to get a leg up. I mean who can blame her. It was so easy to get into this story and will keep you turning pages to see what happens next. You don’t have to read all of the books in order either. I definitely recommend reading the others as they are really great reads!

I cannot wait for book 3 and I only just finished book 2! This book picks up where book 1 left off so I definitely recommend reading them in order but you don’t have to. I love the world building and character growth in this one. And they even have a few steamy parts! This one is filled with action, drama, tension, mystery and so much more. You do get to read from multiple POV’s which I always enjoy. You get some questions answered from book 1 but more questions arise in this one. I am super excited to see where the author takes us in this series!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a very interesting fantasy read. I am all about fantasy/fae books and was drawn in by the cover of this book. I loved how complex this book was and that it has an appendix to aid in that. This story had it all with betrayal and romance all rolled in. Lannahi has to fight back when her and her family are threatened. She then takes matters into her own hands to take control of her fate. The plot thickens and there are plenty of twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. This story was so much better than I even anticipated. I definitely recommend giving this author a try!

I definitely recommend reading the first book before reading this one. This was a great jump into the second book and I loved how you get to read from three different perspectives. I really enjoyed getting to have insight into the other characters. Leo has to make some hard decisions to keep his family safe. Having to learn who you can trust is never easy and then finding a place to be safe. This book pulls you in just like the first. As always there are twists and turns in the plot that leaves you on a small cliffhanger for book three!

Hope For a New World (The Hope Series Book 1)Hope For a New World by Renee W. Peek
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an interesting read! I really like that the author gave a character list that even included descriptions and occupation. This definitely helped with the in-depth writing style of the author. This story takes place in the future and really makes you think. The story is very detailed and has a lot of descriptive writing. As with any good story there is some controversy amongst some of the characters that has to be overcome. You really have to know who you can trust when the world is ending. I am looking forward to book 2! This was a good start to the series!

This was the first book I read by this author. It was not what I was expecting when I first picked it up. It was definitely a page turner for sure! I read it in one night! I was not a fan of a couple of characters but really liked Marcie. Then she meets Ted which ends up being the hero of the story. I cannot believe the twist that came in the story and was not expecting it to go that far! I will be looking for more books by this author in the future!!

I have started to love a good thriller mystery! You do not have to read the others to read this one. I will be going back and reading them in order to get the full back story of the main character. Jorja is in a foreign country and having to sift through the lies and corruption to find her best friend. She is used to having a case to solve but not one that hits so close to home. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole story. I was definitely into this one and cannot wait to read more from this author!

I didn’t find it hard to read even though I had not read the others first. I have recently started to love a good mystery read. I really enjoyed the characters in the story and the way the author writes. The author did a great job of keeping you guessing until the end on who was guilty. I also really love Ivy the main character and cannot wait to read more about her in the other books!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have just recently started to really enjoy this type of genre! This author did not disappoint with this thriller. I really enjoy the writing style as this is the second book of hers I have read. They have a way of keeping you interested without being overly descriptive. Karina is not completely sure of who she can trust and keeps running into dead ends as she searches for her grandmother’s diary. Along with the cafe it was left to her when her grandmother passed and Karina was told to read it and take care of the cafe as her grandmother’s dying wish. So when the diary goes missing it becomes a frantic search to find out who took it and why. Is there more in the diary than just her grandmother’s thoughts? With lots of twists in the story and secrets being revealed this book will definitely keep you interested!

This is a great healing journal/book to work through! I was unsure if I would be ok with working through a book like this. I really liked that you could dive as deep as you wanted to and work through what you choose to. It was a well thought out layout and I really enjoyed the way it was put together. This journal really helps you to feel empowered and to open your heart. The artwork was well done and the positive way of working though the past really was amazing. I definitely recommend giving this journal a try even if this isn’t your typical read!

I have loved this series from the start of the original series! This one follows Cait and Gio’s story. So much happens and there is so much character growth. As always the author does an amazing job of describing the world. There are plot twists that I was not expecting at all and was taken by surprise as the story unfolds. You don’t have to read the first series to understand this one but it definitely gives you the full back story. I do recommend reading the first book in this series so you can know where Cait and Gio started and how their story plays out. I was also pleasantly happy with the ending and cannot wait for book 3!

Christmas Cove by Sarah Dressler – Review by Carla Clemmons

Christmas CoveChristmas Cove by Sarah Dressler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a classic holiday romance and I loved every minute of it! There was even an unexpected plot twist. America was not expecting what she got when she arrived in Christmas Cove on an assignment. She was reluctant to go but gave up when she kept getting pushed in that direction by circumstances out of her control. Which all makes the story that much better. There is everything you would get from a Hallmark movie in the book including some mystery and of course some holiday romance! I love these stories that make you want to drink something hot and sit with a fuzzy blanket on the couch!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am loving this series so far! I definitely recommend reading the books in order so you have the full story. I love that they are quick reads and still give you a full story. Makayla is back at Grave Digger Academy but things are different. Like really different. The year is not going to go as she had planned but when has it ever. She doesn’t know who she can trust and needs friends now more than ever to help her with her plan. When the person she was able to trust last year is nowhere to be found it makes things that much harder. Some new characters are introduced, some likable, some not so much. There was a plot twist I was not expecting and then another that makes me want to read book 5 now! I cannot wait to see where things go!

Makayla is back at Grave Digger Academy for another school year. She is looking forward to seeing her friends and helpers but the Crones have other plans. It looks like the year is going to be different than she planned. When she arrives at school nothing is how she thought it would be including her friends. Even the headmistress does not know how to fix things. And as time passes it looks like Makayla is pretty much on her own except for the help of some new friends that are introduced in this book. There are some great plot twists that I didn’t see coming in this one. I read this one way faster than I meant to and am definitely looking forward to book 4!

No AmendsNo Amends by Angela Lam
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a good quick read. It was written from two different characters’ perspectives and goes back and forth from the present to when those two characters meet. There are things you won’t like about each character in this book. I was not a fan of Dee and was rooting for Layla even though at times she frustrated me. Tang was in a class all her own. Which just makes it even more realistic in my opinion and the characters more believable. I was not expecting the ending at all and just when I thought there were no more plot twist there was another. This was definitely a good first read by this author and I will be looking into more books by them. If you are looking for a quick interesting read with great twists give this one a try!

Rise of the YRise of the Y by Angela D. Shelton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely love this book! It helps that it is my favorite genre. I am all for dystopian reads and this one did not disappoint. You read from Lexi’s point of view and she has so much character growth. Even though she was so naive about how things are, she still felt something was off. I could definitely see this happening in real life. You may think you have the storyline figured out but then the author hits you with another plot twist. I was not expecting the ending at all and am looking forward to book 2 even more now. I also really like the cover of the book and the way the author writes. I plan to look up more books from her, even the other genres she writes. I wanted to hurry and finish the book to see the ending but then was sad it was over! I will definitely be reading book 2!

This was the fourth book in the series and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend reading the series in order so you can get the full story on the characters. There is a lot of history between the characters that the story refers back to. I think this one may have been my favorite so far. The relatable plot along with the character growth was amazing. I absolutely adore Becky, like she is my favorite character in the series so I was so happy to finally get her story. I thought I knew where the story was going and I was wrong! It took me by surprise more than once as I was reading. As always I love the author’s writing style. They do a really great job at explaining the scene so that you can actually picture everything playing out. This was such a sweet romance. I cannot wait to read James’s story next!

This story hit the spot with the cooler weather coming in! I am all about Hallmark Christmas movies and this book gives all the holiday vibes. I love the wholesome romances and then throwing in the holiday just makes that much better. Holly has taken over collecting Christmas Cheer for the North Pole. It is an important job that her dad made look effortless. She finds more than she expected in Emerald Hollow. When Ash comes into the picture everything changes. I loved how reading this book was like watching a movie. You will want to curl up with a fuzzy blanket and some hot cocoa to read Holly’s story! Looking forward to book 2!

This was not my typical read but I still enjoyed it! This historical romance has everything from action to steamy romance. This is a fast paced read with strong characters especially Anna. I really enjoyed the world building and the author’s writing style. There is definitely a good balance between the overall plot and the romance. I will say there are some situations in the story that may be triggering to some who are SA survivors. I enjoyed the story but did struggle reading those parts but they are important to the storyline.

This was a great second book in the series! I really enjoy this author’s writing style and the way her characters have so much sass. I definitely suggest reading the first book before jumping into this one. The characters pull you straight in just like the previous book and jump right into the story. Gwen is just as great in this story as the first. After how the first book ended I was excited to jump into this when it came out. Things get crazy in this one and there are some great plot twists. I really hope we get more stories from Hoodoo! I will be on the lookout for more from this author for sure.

Faking the Fall: A Buckeye Falls NovelFaking the Fall: A Buckeye Falls Novel by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh how I waited for this one to come out! I love the way this author writes love and relationships. It is the sweet romance we all need to bask in. This story follows Alice and a newly introduced character. It’s the kind of story to give the warm fuzzies inside. Alice hasn’t always followed what Buckeye Falls deems the normal small town path. She just wants to prove them wrong and get them off her back for a while. So she comes up with a plan. A pretty good plan actually until things take a very unexpected turn. Then just when you think everything is bliss things take an unexpected turn. I really do love reading about Buckeye Falls and only wish there were more books in the series. You don’t have to read the series but I highly recommend it! Side note I like soggy corn flakes too.

This trilogy is made even scarier by how realistic it could be! I could definitely see this being a reality in the very near future. I read another book recently by this same author and find their writing style easy to read. I like the way the story moved along so that it was not hard to follow and jumped right in. I definitely recommend having all three books ready because it leaves you on a cliffhanger for each book. I really love all three main characters in the books but especially Gigi’s character. I finished this series in two days because it was so intriguing. I will definitely be reading more from this author very soon!

I did not realize this was the fourth book in a series but was still able to follow along with the characters. I will go back and read the other three as I really enjoyed the author’s writing style. There was an unexpected plot twist that took me by surprise. I think Eve, Randall and Cassie make a great team and flow well together. I really like Eve’s personality and how she just wants to jump right in and her friends support that part of her with ease. I will definitely be reading more from this author starting with book one in this series!

Tamaska makes a mistake and decides to go to her apartment to get some things. When the vampires take Kodiak to lure Tamaska out she decides to take matters into her own hands after feeling guilty for not being able to protect herself. This is one of my favorite genres to read! I love stories about growth and finding yourself. I thought I knew where the story was headed but I was wrong. At least about most of it. Some of it I was right about but it did not make it any less amazing. I read this book at the right time. I needed it somehow and plan to read it again. I absolutely love how this story is written and I love this author style. Liz has so much growth and I loved every second of it. Learning about her grandmother’s life with her made me not want to stop reading until I reached the end. Of course then I did not want the story to end. And Mark, don’t even get me started on Mark. The overwhelming patience he has is so sweet. This is such a great read!!!!
