My Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats – Review by Carla Clemmons

My Pearl HeartMy Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really great read that jumps right into the story! The author has a really easy writing style that really flows. You get to read from Jasmine’s point of view, and you want to yell at her sometimes to speak up. You will definitely get frustrated with some of the characters and their situations in this book. Then something I was not expecting at all takes place and my jaw literally dropped. This story turned out to be way more than I expected! It is definitely worth the read and you will not be disappointed!

I really enjoyed this fantasy mystery read! I loved the main character Jessa and reading from her point of view. She unknowingly gets swept up into a mystery unsure if she will be able to even help her Aunt Caris. As Jessa tries to learn more about her aunts friend and the mill she gets closer to unchartered territory. She has to be careful with how she proceeds as secrets are uncovered. Jessa will choose what to share and what to keep hidden if she is to be of any help at all. I am definitely looking forward to the next book to dig deeper into Jessa’s world!

This was a really fun read! I really liked the authors writing style and how they jumped right into the story. Rhiannon and Emerys both do some growing throughout the story, which I always enjoy in a book. There were some unexpected turns in the story that I did not see coming. Rhiannon is such a strong character but discovers she has some weaknesses too. She was not expecting her life to work out the way it did and fights it till the very end. Emerys has such a kind heart and so much patience. At some point patience is not enough when being fought at every turn. This is a great quick read!

I love second chance romance stories and this one was right up my alley! I really enjoyed the author’s easy writing style. The story reads from Ginny and Max’s point of view. He is a patient loving guy and wants nothing but happiness for Ginny. She just want to chase her dreams. When she has to come back home to help her father she starts to question what her dreams really are. Would walking away from her life in the city really make her happy or resent Max forever? This story is such a sweet read and you really will fall in with Buckeye Falls. I am looking forward to reading more from this author and more about this small town!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of my favorite authors! Like all of the other books I have read by them this one was just as good. This is one of those slow burn romances that builds up the tension. The accidental crossing of Dorian and Augustine was not supposed to happen. The attraction was not supposed to happen, both of them are married. After parting ways it’s assumed they will not cross paths again. Of course, fate has other plans, but what will this mean for them and their wives. As the unexpected happens and secrets are revealed the story takes some interesting turns. This is definitely a great read and I always really enjoy this author!

This was not my normal type of read but I am so glad I did! I absolutely love the authors writing style. This was a fast-paced page turner that I did not want to put down. I kept thinking I had figured out where the story was going only to unravel more of the mystery. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Jorja is an awesome character and I really enjoyed reading from her perspective. She’s a strong character and very well written. She is relentless in wanting to find the answers as to why several people have died. Jorja goes to great lengths to find the answers and how or if everything is all connected. The more she uncovers the deeper she has to go to find the real truth and who all is involved. If you are looking for a thrilling page turner, then this is the book for you!

This was such a beautiful story! I normally don’t read this type of book, but I am so glad I did. This story is very well written and has amazing characters that you will fall in love with. Emma is young and strong with her whole life ahead of her. Then something happens that will cause her to question everything. The pull of Thorn Ranch and family are strong and will not diminish but she will have to fight harder than she ever has to see it again. I adore her strength and love Kai’s patience. The ending will take you by surprise, but this story is definitely worth the read! I will be looking for more from this author!

This was such a sweet romantic read! I really enjoyed this authors writing style and how she describes the scenery. I love both Sienna and Connor’s characters and how much they have overcome. They are two totally different people and come from completely different worlds. Connor is not what I expected at all in his character, and I love it! There is one character that I was not a fan of and am glad things worked out the way they did. There is some awesome character building as well. I absolutely love the ending to this book and loved that there is an epilogue!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This second book is just as fast paced as the first! We are still with Calum, Jessie and the others and they have started to build up civilization again. As always there are precautions that still have to be taken. And as with any apocalyptic story people aren’t always what they seem. Some people may not want things to change and become better than what was. I definitely enjoyed all of the unexpected plot twist. The science behind this overall series will make you think twice. I will definitely recommend having the third book ready to start because it ends on a cliff hanger!

This holiday romance is not what you expect! It has such a great story line and is not your typical story. This was my first time reading this author and I really enjoyed their writing style. Tenley has hidden insecurities that most people don’t even know about. She has a podcast telling women not to waste your time with love. And then comes Teagan who believes in love with his whole heart even though he has never experienced it. He takes a chance and makes an offer Tenley can’t refuse. Will his belief be enough to show Tenley that true love does exist? Can he really break down her walls and reach her heart? This is definitely worth the read!

This was an excellent horror read! My only wish was that it was longer! I’ve read this author before and enjoyed their books but I loved their writing style with this genre. I really like the plot of the story and that not everything goes as you would expect. You could really visualize what Amy and Lila were seeing and experiencing. I didn’t expect the ending that came but it definitely was how it needed to end to make the story that much better. I really hope this author writes more horror style books! This book was a non stop read that keeps you guessing until the end! With plenty of oh wow plot twist I read this book in a day. I could not put it down needing to know what would happen to Vin, Rosie and Cate. Your heart will ache for each character for very different reasons. I love that there was a mixture of each persons past in the story to give you a sense of who they are. You will also find a reason to despise each character, some more than others. This story shows the reality of what happens when tragedy strikes and how us as humans handle it. We all have secrets, some are just heavier than others. Will definitely read more from this author!

I really enjoyed this quick romance! Its such a sweet story about coming back to a love you had before. Seeing if its possible to rekindle a romance that once was is exactly what Katie and Chase do. You never know if there’s to much pain that is still lingering from the past. I really enjoy the characters in the story and how you get to know their back stories as well. We don’t always make the best decisions but sometimes we get to go back to see if our mistakes can be forgiven.
