Our main protagonist Grace has had to grow in very poor conditions all her live. She had to survive the streets, the mental tole of growing up at a young age and taking responsibility for her ill mother and younger sister. For as long as she’s been alive, she’s known struggle and poverty. She found strength in these conditions through learning how to fight at a gym that her father introduced her too. This is a great story that show cases how hard-work, perseverance, and believing can help a person change their circumstances. I highly recommend this read!

Definitely not what I was expecting but was hooked from the very beginning! You can tell from the start that Grace has been through a lot in her life but that she hasn’t let it stop her from taking care of those that matter most to her. Her journey to becoming an UFC fighter is inspirational, I love how no matter what is thrown her way she is able to work through it and come out stronger on the other side. The connections she made with people she has met on her journey show that she is loyal to a fault, which becomes an issue for her at times throughout the book but made her that much more admirable. I’m excited to see what comes next in the series, and plan to read it soon!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

One of my favorite sports is MMA Fighting and this story seemed very surreal of the struggles to make it into the UFC. Not only was this story about a MMA Fighter trying to make it the main character is a female and I LOVED every bit of this book. Grace is all about trying to make ends meat to help her mother who has medical issues and her younger sister. She struggles, she is a fighter, she is strong and I totally admired Grace throughout the entire book. When chance opporunity comes knocking at the possibility of making into the UFC….Grace and her team work so hard and I totally admire her strength and determination to make it. She is like water……

This book was fantastic from beginning to end!!

This was a really enjoyable read and was such more than I expected. The author does an amazing job with the character Grace. She is strong willed and very determined. She also keep her emotions in check. She is always the strong one and since her fathers passing it has been down to her to support her family.

The reader reads and feels the struggles Grace goes through as she battles to keep her family alive and ensure their survival while dealing with the knowledge that she is going against her father’s wishes by fighting.

We follow her from illegal underground fights to earn money for her family to survive to becoming a UFC fighter. Along the way she will meet people who will allow her to feel like part of a family which she desperately needs.
Grace is a very strong, determined woman who comes over all the odds to achieve her goal of supporting her family.

Well this story was not what I expected at all – Grace is probably hands down one of the best female leads I’ve read about in a story for a very long time, she was just amazing to read about. Her inner strength as well as her physical made her such a unique character, I’ve never read anything like this book before and apart being really well written is one of the reasons for the 5 stars, It was so incredibly refreshing to read something different. Apart from Grace who I just loved there was also a few secondary characters who were just as wonderful to read about and I loved the connection that they all had with each other. I am very excited to read more from this author and series in the future and would definitely recommend this 5 star read to other readers!

This is actually 4.5 stars!! I never thought I’d enjoy a book about a MMA fighter but I wanted to expand my reading genres so I reached out for this one. I’m so glad that I did!

Grace is a 20 year old underground fighter. She’s been fighting her whole life. Her parents are illegal immigrants to the US and her mother has schizophrenia. When she was much younger, Grace’s dad died. It’s not initially known the details but plays a role in Grace’s thoughts about fighting. Grace is left to defend her younger sister and mother. Having to hold down 3 jobs just to support them, Grace really has no time to herself and has never done anything for herself.

When a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes around, Grace can’t refuse it. She knows what this could mean for her family…good or bad. She’s a fighter and she’d bound to prove it!

There are elements of romance in this novel but nothing that screams romance novel. It’s all very subtle and I found myself rooting for a certain someone. I would love to read more about Dar, Mason, and Lizzy’s characters and I hope they will get books of their own!!

Caging Grace (Grace Series Book 1) by Carsen Lane

Caging Grace is the first book in the Grace series and is a wonderfully written story about determination and struggle. This is a heart-warming story that will take you on quite the emotional rollercoaster ride. I had moments where I had tears in my eyes and my heart hurt for Grace. She’s tougher than even she realizes. This is a fairly new author to me and I definitely plan to check out what other books they have written. I will say this book is nothing what I expected but was so much more. This is exactly what I needed and didn’t realize. Get ready to be taken on quite the ride as Grace fights her way to the top. Grace hasn’t had it easy she’s a fighter in everything she does and stands for. She’s strong yet very vulnerable and complete badass at the same time. I don’t want to give to much away . I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Will Grace make it to the top? I look forward to reading more from this Author.

This book is book one of a series. It’s also the first book I’ve read by this author but I have to say I enjoyed it!

Grace is a fighter, in more than one sense of the word. Grace is determined and she’s doing everything she can for her family. Grace is fierce and independent and when she gets the chance to go pro she puts everything she has in it. Grace has to do everything she can to take care of her family. This story is about life and everything that comes with that.

I really enjoyed this story. I couldn’t get enough of it. I also liked that Grace, as the main character, is a fighter. You don’t see enough strong women doing something that is typically male dominated. I couldn’t put this down and can’t wait to see where the series goes next.

This story takes you from the past to the present with Grace. You start out with Grace as a small child, who is taking care of her sick ma, and her sister. When she gets jumped going to the store for her dad. All of a sudden this potential of a young fighter comes through. She never let go of the money her dad handed her that day. Dad takes her to this gym, where she meets her mentor, Carl. Along with Mason& Alasdair. They start as a team, and Grace makes them into her family. She gets offered a job as a UFC fighter, and she JUMPS at the opportunity. This book is so well written, you wont be able to put it down. You can really connect to Grace through all her trials in her life. I cannot wait for Johnny’s book.

This was a great 5 star read.
My emotions were all over the place with this read. Grace is a hard worker trying to pay the bills and take care of her mother and sister. She ends up losing one of her jobs and she decides to move from underground fighting to pursue UFC fighting.

Will her choices be the right ones?

I really loved Grace, she was a very strong woman who would work and fight for anything. Grace’s story had so much in it, along with some great secondary characters. I loved them all and I can’t wait to read their stories (fingers crossed we will get them). The author does a great job with her writing, I was pulled right in and didn’t want to put it down until I was done. If you’re looking for a great read with a strong woman character this is the one for you. I look forward to reading more from this series and author. 1-click and get started today.

Amazing. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series.

Grace is a fighter. She is fierce and strong and independent. The very best type of heroine in the best possible type of love story. This is a love story for the ages; though that is not the first thing you would think when you read it. It is not your typical love story, but it is nothing short of perfect.

Carsen Lane fills the pages with warmth and urgency. The imagery is palpable and the fight inside the characters is so relatable. The book not only follows pursuit of a dream, but makes it real and painstakingly detailed in every aspect toward reaching that goal. The feelings invoked are deep and vast. You can feel what Grace feels without useless internal chatter and timidity so often found in narratives.

This book takes you on a ride and casually surprises. I CANNOT wait to read more.

This was a good book that I couldn’t put down.

Grace is working hard to be able to keep her family together and happy. She’s holding down three jobs to keep her home, put food on the table, and pay for her mother’s medicine. She does fighting underground to make extra money, but keeps it from her mother. Grace is trying hard to keep the promise her father made before he passed away, but her circumstances change. An endorsement deal falls into her lap and she has an opportunity to join the UFC. Will she be able to join some of the best fighters in the world?

This book is such an emotional story about survival. I was taken on an emotional roller coaster ride from the very first page. Grace has had to fight for everything that she has if she wants to survive, even putting food on the table for her and her family is a struggle. She’s such a strong woman that she does what it takes, which means fighting hard to become a ufc fighter.She meets some really great people along the way and they help each other to grow and become stronger. I really enjoyed the realistic aspects of the book, and the reality that life isn’t easy for most people. Her journey takes her places she never imagined and I was cheering for her the entire time. This is one book that you won’t want to miss.

In Grace’s world, there is no room for failure because failure means the end of life as she knows it.

This is a new to me author and boy am I so glad I found this story. From start to finish I was completely drawn in and the characters are so well written you truly feel you’re a part of their story and not just reading it. It’s a story that I connected with at this time in my life and sometimes that’s just what someone needs to clear their own mind. This is truly a story that you can’t help but love and you won’t be forgetting it anytime soon. It’s well written and the characters are complex and relatable. I honestly can’t wait for more from this author. And I’ll be adding to my read again list for sure. Five stars and highly recommended!

I enjoyed reading this story. This is a newer author for me which I enjoyed from beginning to end. I enjoyed the author’s writing skills and how they made the story come to life with their details. This is a story that is emotional in parts and it is truly about finding yourself and learning to love yourself in the process. I found the characters to be relatable and supportive of each other. They made the story easy to read and entertaining. This is a great story that is fast paced. A story that will show you that a prince isn’t always the one to save the day, a princess could. This is a great romance story that had me coming back for more. I highly recommend this story. You don’t want to miss this one for sure.

Caging Grace (Grace Series Book 1) by Carsen Lane. I loved this book. Its the story of Grace who is a fighter in every facet of her life. Grace has always had to take care of everyone. Her dad is dead, her mom is an illegal immigrant, she provides for her younger sister so she knows what its like to fight for everything. She is also a underground fighter wanting to make it to the UFC. Working up to 3 jobs her whole life she knows what its like to work for what she wants but nothing has been this hard. Will she be able to succeed or will she let her past keep her from moving forward. Being a gym rat her whole life can only help her. She also falls in love with someone and he won’t know what hit him in the end! Such a good start to a series!

The power is strong in this one. After trying to provide for her mother and younger sister for so long by holding down 3 jobs, one of which is underground fighting, Grace is finally noticed by some recruiters for UFC fighting. This leads to an adventurous path of discovering herself. After making sure that her mother’s need and little sister’s needs are met, Grace takes steps to learn what it means to be with herself; to find out who she is. She has always been taking care of others after promising her dad that she would. (She saw him fight at an underground fight when she was 14). With the help of Carl, Johnny, Dars, Sabrina, and a cast of others, Grace will learn that she is no longer caged. She has the power to rescue herself. I loved this story. Not all girls will participate in the UFC but the story reminds us that it’s okay to be alone. We need to believe in ourselves before we can others. We need to love ourselves before we can love others. That’s a really important message that I have never seen come across in a fiction book like this but the whole way it came across was total self-care and very helpful. She had always been helping others, now it’s time to help herself. The characters felt very real. They felt like they could have been people I knew. The tone of the book was very positive even with it being a UFC book. The plot felt very smooth with no choppiness. It was really a great book. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. You should give it a shot. It’s a TKO!!

Such a good book! I loved this book from start to finish. I was captivated with the characters and everything that they brought to the table. There was a heavy duty of emotions with this book as I read, and not in ways I expected there to be.

The book was more than a well worth read. II felt for Grace in so many ways. She was a fighter in the ring sure, but outside I would say she could do those punches just a well. She took many hits in her life too. None the less, none of that ever stopped her from living or chasing what she wanted. I really admired that. She had a lot on her plate through out my reading and I really felt how she was doing everything and trying to live this thing called life. I really wanted to reach in and hug her tight! Despite that the side characters help make her life and this story come full circle. Every character for me brought a different depth and I loved and appreciate all of them for who they were. The story was captivating and beautifully written. This is one that will stay with me for some time with no doubt.

The book was superb from start to finish. I could not read fast enough to see where each page and sentence would lead to. I loved it truly. It was beautiful in so many ways. I highly recommend this must-read book, give this book a chance, I know it’s a diamond in the rough that should not be passed up on any account!

Caging Grace is book 1 in The Grace series is a tale about struggle and determination and is an emotional journey. Carsen writes with passion and it shows in the characters she brings to life.

It is a story of fighting your way to the top in more than one way. It is a fight for survival. It is a story about one woman who is vulnerable yet strong, determined and badass, and beneath it all she is amazingly resilient. It is also about finding yourself.

Grace has the weight of the world coming down on her but if not her then no one is going to be able to come out on top, come out from under it all. All she needs is someone to support her. Someone to help her on her journey.

When got this book I discovered that Bound by Grace is the prequel 0.5, so I jumped on that and read it first. It is a quick read love story of Liam and Aggie and where it all began.

Grace in this story starts out as a 20 year old underground fighter. She fights, has 3 jobs, and takes care of her mother and her sister, needless to say she has a full plate. I love the back and forth of current Grace and past Grace. You get to se what made her into the woman she is today. I love how it references her to water, cool and collected, but dangerous when a storm comes in. She tries so hard to do everything for everybody but she forgets to take care of herself first. But, you get that chance to see her grow and learn and see how important it is to put oneself above all of the others. You got to see what a day to day world is for a MMA fighter even though it is fiction. The writing is done wonderfully, and the progress of Grace was done at a good speed, not to slow and not too fast. She’s relatable in her entirety and I saw bits and pieces of myself in her. She’s an easy to love character. I still have so many questions about the rest of the characters! Well done author well done!
