Wow another absolutely stunning read from an author who can describe places and people so well you feel as if you are there.
Dia is constantly on the move, protecting her family as best she can, and trusting no one, after they were betrayed by her lover, in the past and hunters found her family.
Enter the betrayer, they are captives together, Kano cannot believe he is with Dia again especially after what transpired the last time. The sparks truly fly.
He never wanted
any harm to come to Dia and her family.
Add Milos into the mix and the threesome ignite fires and produces steam with their relationship, and maybe together they can help to bring the family back together and an end to the tyranny of the hunters.
I cannot wait to read more of this series
What an amazingly descriptive book by a new to me author.
The world described can easily be pictured; the description of the food does literally make your mouth water.
We meet Ember a shifter frim Maori descent, in hiding in Wyoming, living with her dad and running her business. Her life is her café and wanting her sisters back.
Austin is a television chef moving around the country in and old RV, making a documentary on BBQ food, when the aforementioned RV breaks down and leaves them stranded in the small town where the only place to get real food is Embers Café.
The relationship slowly builds, as Ember and Austin spend time together. As they move to the solstice Ember knows her secret may soon come to light.
A lovely book that I could easily visualise every part of
Looking forward to moving onto the second story.

Dia's LureDia’s Lure by Catherine Peace
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this set! I haven’t read many sifter books outside of the normal werewolves and such, so I was super excited about this set after reading the first book. I am so happy that I gave then a read! I defiantly recommend this set to anyone how loves shifter romance books. Día has been on the run for years. She is always watching her back, changing the way she looks, and always always running. She’s been on the run from hunters trying to keep her family safe, but her luck so far has just run out. She gets caught. But not by hunters! She stumbles onto a colony in hiding and they don’t trust outsiders. This bat shifter and witch colony has been through a lot and many of them are sick and dying. They can’t trust anyone and two strangers showing up on the same day worries them. Her fellow captive (the other stranger) just so happens to be an ex-lover who betrayed her years ago and brought the hunters to her family. Kano regrets so much in his life. Not being able to stop the slaughter of Día’s tribe and family being the biggest of all. He can’t believe his eyes when he drug into colony and he sees her alive. He’s been so focused on his journalism and putting the worst of the worst into the lime-light and behind bars. He can’t escape his own guilt and seeing Día brings it all rushing back. Again. When he gets taken by the bat colony he doesn’t know what he is in for. Día plans to run as soon as she can. She can’t be around him and she needs to find her group and make sure that they are okay. Milos, one of the bat shifters feels like something bad is coming. He can feel it in his gut. So when Día and Kano stumble onto the camp his gut stabs him with fear again. He just wants to protect his colony, find a cure to their sickness, and live! With their leader dying he must do something, anything to help their fast decreasing colony members. When someone from Kano’s past comes and threatens the colony the three of them must put their mistrust aside and fight together. Putting fears behind you can be tricky when fighting for your life. Will they come together and defeat their enemy? Or will history repeat itself. Will fear keep these three from saving everyone? Will Día kill Kano for his part in her family’s slaughter? Will Kano admit his mistakes from all those years ago and get Día to forgive him? Will she be able to? Man this book has so much going on! Those three are in for a lot!! You have to read this set!! If you love shifter books and magic and love you, will love this set!!

Dia’s Lure (A Solstice Quartet #3) by Catherine Peace

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Dia’s Lure is the third book in the Solstice Quartet Series. This book captured me from the get-go. I had a hard time choosing quotes for everyone. Dia and her friends are amazing.

Dia aka Dane is hiding out from hunters. She is traveling with a Samaritan Group which helps people out. When an explosion happens and she is thrown out of the vehicle, she runs. Then she’s found by others hiding out. Her ex shows up and she finds herself falling for the one who saved her. The quote I chose for Dia is: “You’ll have to try hard, dingo. But yeah, I’ll let you try.”

Kano has been keeping an eye out for Dia since the night of the killing of her mother. When she is found again it takes his breath away. Then he finds himself also falling for Milos. Can he save the two of them? The quote I chose for Kano is: “It’s not. It’s not your fault. Harrington made the decision. He called the hunting party, not you. All you did was exist, love. You existed and you were beautiful, and you still are. Some people just can’t be happy unless they’re causing pain, and he was one of ’em.”

Milos is of a colony. He doesn’t necessarily like strangers. Then Dane and Kano come to his little camp and he can’t help but want them both. Can he survive the whole legend thing? Will he be able to have his happily ever after? The quote I chose for Milos is: “When we left Transylvania, I was a small child. I hadn’t had my first transformation yet, so I rode in a wagon with the other children. Sorina, too. I think Cammie was still a baby. I remember people yelling at us. Torches, pitchforks, guns…the whole deal. As the caravan trundled out of town, they threw rocks at us. One hit me right here. I was lucky. Something about our first transformation causes the anemia. A hit like that might kill me now, but back then…then it just terrified me. These were friends, people whom the vràji had worked side by side with. Parents of children Rina and I had played with.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.

Ember's Secret (Solstice Quartet #1)Ember’s Secret by Catherine Peace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was so surprised by this book! When I first started reading it I forgot that it was about shifters. I haven’t read many “shifter” books outside of the normal werewolves and such, so I LOVED seeing some other animals being brought into the genera. Ember has a big secret and with the Solstice coming up quickly she’s not sure if she can keep that secret much longer. She want to see more people in her café and in turn be reunited with her two sisters. Her café only sees people that are passing through and she hasn’t turned a good profit in years. Cooking for people she never sees twice is lonely and not at all what she wants out of her café. Food brings people together. She wants more out of her life and she wants more for her café. But can she risk it? Austin is the host of a popular Food TV show Back Road Eats. He’s tired of the same old easy dependable American grilling and BBQ. And being on the road more and more is wearing him out. A chef tv host who’s burnt out on food! While on the way to one last round of shows before heading home his RV breaks down in the middle of no where Wyoming. Dreading the extended stay while him and his camera and editing crew wait for a part for the RV, they learn of a Maori restaurant and his interest is piqued! Sick of BBQ, burgers, and all the normal Back Road Eats he’s been eating for the past few years he is ready to try something new. Once he meets Ember and tries her food he can’t leave without getting her to do his show! He can’t believe the flavors that she brings out in all her dishes. Everything he tries, he loves! But she’s terrified and family comes first. Her father forbids anything to do with the show and he is all she has left. Family first. Can Austin get Ember to do the show? Does Ember bring her whole world down around her and put what little family she has left in danger? Will she get them killed? Will she ever get her café full of people who fall in love with her food? It’s clear that Austin loves more than just her food too! What will come of that?! Dealing with his own father drama he doesn’t want to push to hard. Does he push her away? Or will they over come fears and trials and come together? You have to read to find out!!! You won’t be disappointed!!

First time reader of author Catherine Peace, and even though I started on this book( which is the third one of the Solstice Quartet series.)I gotta say I’m hooked. I definitely have to go back to the beginning and start from there to get a better understanding of everything. But I wanted to read this one when I first saw the description because of all the supernatural books I have read I’ve never read about bat and swan shapeshifters. The world the author has built was unique and i loooved everything she did. Really creative. I can not wait for the next installment. I highly recommend reading this book. It has everything you’re looking for in an otherworldly book and moree.

Book 3 in this stellar series is Dia’s story and you won’t disappointed. This is one complicated love triangle and so much more (I won’t ruin it… but steamy!)
Of 3 people who are completely broken and lost in very different ways they find exactly what they need to heal in eachother.
Dia is ambitious strong and perseveres no matter what, but she is so very broken from so much loss and is finally captured after being on the run. Who does she find in captivity? Kano, who’s already betrayed her before.
Kano and Dia will need to rely on one another to avoid danger thus start to build a bond, but then, just when things cant get more angsty… Bring in Milo to really complicate things. I won’t reveal anything that will detract from your experience as this truly is a delightful one but be prepared for love, longing, angst, drama, danger, magic, so many secrets and more!
This is a well built story with great characters and I look forward to the 4th book.

This is the third book in this series and I wouldn’t say you have to read the previous two books to be able to read this one, however I do believe it is a good idea to read them in order. This book took me on an adventure of shapeshifters, magic, romance, danger, action, and great characters. The author wrote this story with a great deal of detail so it was easy to immerse myself into the story. The characters have been through a lot of heartache in their past that they are trying to overcome to create a better future. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Dia’s Lure was the first book that I read in the series, but I’ll absolutely be going back to read the first two now. This adventure was amazing! Dia has been trying to keep herself and her family safe, but her tribe ends up being slaughtered. Dia herself is captured and discovers she is being held with her ex-lover, Carver. She is faced with all of the hurtful past again and wants to escape immediately. Carver knows he is far from perfect and has tried his entire life to right his wrongs, but seeing Dia again throws gas on his fire of guilt. Milos is an unexpected third in this triangle, but they all need to rely on each other to survive. Can they do it, or will guilt and distress cause them to make a fatal error?

Catherine Peace is a marvelous author! I cannot believe I’ve never read any of her books before. I’ll be picking up the rest of this series and seeing what other adventures she has to offer. I highly recommend picking up Dia’s Lure!

I read this book not realizing it was book 3 in the series, and honestly that didn’t really matter. I wasn’t as lost as I thought I was going to be. It was like this book had its own little story from the first two. I will be going back and reading the other ones because I really couldn’t put this book down. I absolutely loved the way others imagine and preserve the fantasy part. This romance paranormal book really had it all from romance, love, action, twist and turns, redemption, a little erotic and bat shifter. The chemistry that is in the book between Dia and milo which was unexpected was interesting to know if there will be more to that story. But with Dia mate around but Dia is upset that he could be the reason that her people aren’t around anymore. there’s so much that was going on in this book I couldn’t put it down and really want to know more of what is going on in Dia’s life. The world building in each separate character is amazing and who each one waves into each other’s is just phenomenal, highly recommend this book.

As I have not read the other previous books, I was intrigued by the beautiful cover and decided to read this 3rd book of the series and it is quite good! The writing is descriptive and beautiful. I really loved Dia’s story and trying to not only keep her family safe but also herself after being hunted and the aftermath of her tribe being destroyed. When Dia is eventually captured…she see’s another person as well in captivity…none other than Kano…whom betrayed her long ago……Dia and Kano work together to save each other from danger and also in the mix with Milos as well?

This is a really good read..I love the different type of shifters, love the paranormal aspect and some danger and sizzle. I definitely want to circle back and check out the first two books in the series and looking forward to book 4!

Ember’s Secret (Solstice Quartet #1) by Catherine Peace

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Ember’s Secret is a great read and an easy one at that. The next book is something I’m looking forward to.

Ember has always had a dream, but doesn’t think she can make it happen. When she meets Austin it’s close to Solstice. With his help will she be able to make her dream come true? The quote I chose for Ember is: “These dishes turned into a blend of traditional and … something. I wouldn’t call it fusion, but it’s different. Maybe more Americanized than I’d like. I tried a new appetizer and new entree. Wanted to get your opinion.”

Austin is a foodie by heart and wants to own his own restaurant. Breaking down in the middle of nowhere may be a blessing in disguise. Can he make his dream of settling down and being a chef come true? The quote I chose for Austin is: “Getting down those ideas you mentioned last night and implementing them as soon as possible.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Fantasy lovers.

Dia's LureDia’s Lure by Catherine Peace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dia’s Lure is the third book in this series. I would strongly recommend reading the books in order so you get a complete understanding of the characters and the story.

This is a paranormal fantasy romance. I loved the elements of danger in it and the different characters. The author does an amazing job of bringing these fantasy characters to life. I didn’t read the first 2 books but that didn’t stop my enjoyment of this book. I will however be going back to read the series from the beginning.

Dia is a very interesting character. All her life she has been on the run from hunters because of what she can become. She is a strong willed and resourceful character however she does have a sense of sadness and loneliness about her because she can’t let people in and the one person she did let in and loved betrayed her.

That person was Carver. Carver is a dingo shifter. He has made many questionable mistakes in his life that he regrets. The main was was hurting Dia and causing the destruction of her tribe. Now he’s free to make amends for the past and the pain he has caused but will Dia accept him and forgive him or has the damage been too much that there is no going back.

This story is definately a page turner which a slight element of fated mates has most shifter stories have but the journey for Dia and Carver to get there is definately a roller coaster of a ride you don’t want to miss

Years ago, Dia lured hunters away to keep her family safe and she’s been hiding ever since. She changed her name, her gender, her looks all to keep herself and her younger sister’s safe from their dark past.

Dia who goes by Dane, is going to help in an active warzone when a bomb goes off and shifts the bus they were in. Fight or flight kicked in and she ran until she collapsed. When she came to, she was in a camp of bat shifters who just wanted to be left alone in a world where shifters are hunted. The shifters, not knowing who or what Dia is, insist on her staying until they can trust her. The next day they get another intruder and it is Dia’s mate whom she blames for the slaughter of her tribe.

Years later and there are still feelings there. As she gets to know the bat colonies leader, Milos, she realizes that there could be something between them as well.

Kano spent years trying to find his lost love Dia while also trying to stay away to protect her. When he arrives on the scene of the bus, he picks up her scent, causing him to stumble into the camp. Instantly, Kano can tell that Dia wants nothing to do with him because of their past but he can’t help it. All the while Milos catches his eye as well.

After a lifetime of them all running, will they finally settle down and try to make something of these feelings?

As much as I enjoyed the first book of the series, this one is a lot better. There is alot more action, steam, romance. It even gets a little erotic here and there. I could not put it down.

Ember's Secret (Solstice Quartet #1)Ember’s Secret by Catherine Peace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is the first book of the Solstice Quartet series and it is a great introduction to the world.

Ember lost everything years ago when hunters showed up at their tribe and slaughtered and kidnapped all of their people including her own mother. They come from a tribe of swan shifters. Her sister Dia led the hunters away from Ember, their father and their other sister Amy so they could get away. Years later and they still have no idea what happened to Dia which makes them feel the need to hide.

Ember is a chef and owner of a small cafe. She loves to cook. Unfortunately living in a small town not used to ethnic food made her cafe empty most of the time. Due to her father’s paranoia, Ember hasn’t done much to change this until she meets Austin.

Austin is a host of a show that goes to different restaurants and reviews them. After entering Ember’s cafe he is smitten instantly. With her, with her food, her passion and her energy and knows that she deserves more customers in her place of work.

Austin tries to convince her to take part in an episode that will most likely bring clientele in. With her past, she is unsure where to go from here.

There was chemistry between these two from the very beginning. They seemed like soul mates. Instantly they got along and spoke like they’ve known each other for years. There was a strong will they/won’t they between the two while they tried to fight their feelings and dark past. There wasn’t much action but like i said it was a very good introduction to the world as you get to read flashbacks and memories. The world in of itself is unique. It talks of Maori traditions. It was very interesting to read.

She’s been through so much and isn’t going to let anything stop her from what she has her mind set on. You’ll also meet Kano, who lives in his emotions and lets them dictate his choices. And let’s not forget Milo. I won’t say more because this book is absolutely worth the read. Filled with action, romance, betrayal, acceptance, hope, friendship, and so much more.

Ember's Secret (Solstice Quartet #1)Ember’s Secret by Catherine Peace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So let me just start off by saying, I went into reading this book after reading the 3rd book of the series and was not disappointed at all! Catherine Peace definitely writes in a genre of her own, and it is different, but it is a great different though! I can honestly say that this is the second book that I have read that Catherine Peace has written, and I have not been disappointed either time, I really enjoyed reading Ember’s Secret!
The storyline revolves around two lonely souls that are drawn to one another.
Austin, considered a failure in his father’s eyes, has a great love and a passion for food. He seems to have darkness looming over him but he’s just the light this story needed. His character development throughout the story was beautifully described. After learning about Austin, we are then introduced to
Ember, who has been living in fear, after her mother was killed when she was a child. And her life of fear hasn’t been easy, because of her shape shifting secret she holds dear. Ember’s character really develops throughout the novel.
Austin happens to stumble across Ember’s empty restaurant with phenomenal food because his car troubles landed him there. He sees something within Ember and wants to give her everything! Ember is hesitant as first, but it doesn’t take long for her to jump on board and let’s Austin and his team lead the way. As Austin and Ember grow closer, they have multiple obstacles that keep getting in their way!

Dia's LureDia’s Lure by Catherine Peace
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dia Ngata is a young woman in hiding, she spends her life in disguise and has been hunted because of who she is for most of her life, she is a swan shifter and ever since her tribe was slaughtered overnight, she has been running from hunters and from her past. Carver Kano is a dingo shifter who has had a challenging past and a life full of regrets, but he is trying desperately to make up for them with the choices he is making now, his biggest regret is his hand in the destruction of Dia’s tribe all those years ago.

Despite all of this, Dia spends her time helping others survive against the odds, just like her, so when disaster strikes and Dia is forced to run until she can run on more and passes out in the middle of an unknown forest, however, when she wakes up, she is no longer there, instead, she is in a bed with a soft voice asking her how she is feeling. This puts Dia on edge immediately, she is not used to being looked after and is suspicious of it all, especially when she is told she cannot leave, this send her into a panic and she does everything she can to escape, albeit unsuccessfully.

While all this is happening, Kano is working on a new story as a journalist specialising in warzones and he is after his biggest prize yet, in the past he has used this job to take down the worst of the worst out there and for the most part he is successful, but on the road to his next destination, Kano comes a scene of destruction and immediately goes to help, but he is distracted when he smells Dia and he immediately goes after her, however, he finds more than he bargains for when he is captured and put in a cage.

As Dia accepts her captivity, she sees another captive and realises that it is her old flame Kano, she doesn’t know how to react and honestly, neither does he, but as they find out more about this colony’s history, they become a part of the bat shifters camp life and they find it somewhere they want to help, especially Milos, who wriggles into their hearts. One say they are confronted by danger yet again when someone from Kano’s past turns up and threatens the bats they have become close to, but can Dia, Kano and Milos work together to save the colony from this latest danger and keep themselves safe throughout this difficult task? This is a fantasy adventure where nothing is as it seems and secrets and lies seem to be a way of life which will keep you reading on until you find out what happens in the end.

Its the continuing story of Dia who has been on the run for years. She has self isolated and has been keeping her self from friends and family. When she runs into someone from her past things turn very unclear. Carver is a journalist and Dia has said she will never forgive him for his past mistakes. When Milos and Carver become friends things get very tricky. Will Dia be able to let anyone get close to her? Will she be able to forgive the people that have wronged her? Once Dia is captured will she be able to escape? This is a fast paced paranormal romance that will keep you reading late into the night.

If you are anything like I am, then you don’t do things in order! Dia’s Lure is the third book in the Solstice Quartet by Catherine Peace. I didn’t pay attention to the title when I picked up this book and didn’t notice that it was the 3rd book in a series. Which honestly, I didn’t pay any attention to due to the book being very entertaining. There was tension, emotion, and some steamy chemistries that were set on high-mode that definitely made for some intense reading!!
Now, I do highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one (you know so you’re not lost like I was at first!) it is nice to know what has happened and what is going on with some of the other characters and their backstories, this will 100% change the way that you interpret the story of Dia!
This is a story that has mystery, romance, drama, trouble, steamy chemistry, and the list goes on and on!
I definitely have to say that Catherine Peace put a lot of thought and emotion into her writing, and I thank her for that! The characters, storyline, the whole plot was very well thought out! And that ending though!!!!
I can’t wait to go back and read book 1 & 2, as well as the 4th book in the series!
Happy reading!

This is the third book in the series. I have not read the previous books and I was able to pick up on everything that’s going on in the story. That being said, it would probably make even more of an impact if I had read the previous stories.
There are a lot of things to love about this story. The world building is excellent and detailed. The characters have a lot of depth. And the story line is intriguing.
The first part of the story is a little slow, but it picks up later on and keeps you glued to the pages.
Overall, a great read!

Dia’s Lure (Solstice Quartet Book 3) by Catherine Peace – Review by Katrina Evanochko

Dia’s Lure is a paranormal fantasy romance. It is the third book in a series. I didn’t read the first two books, and while I think I would have understood a few things a bit better, I think it was fine as a stand-alone.

Dia has been on the run for years. She has very few friends and does not stay in one place for too long in an effort to keep hunters from finding her or her family. She struggles to trust others, and this shows in her interactions with a group of people she stumbles across. Add in a person from her past showing up, and things get interesting.

Carver is a very interesting character. He has had to make some hard choices in his life and is willing to bear the consequences. He and Dia have history and chemistry, and when Milos gets added in, things get spicy.

All three characters have chemistry with each other and together. It was interesting to watch how things unfolded. There was an element of ‘fated mates’ even if that wasn’t overtly talked about, as they were all drawn to each other and were quick to succumb to it.

While the main plot of this story was told, I want to know more about some of the side characters and what else happens for the swans. I look forward to reading more in this world.

Absolutely loved Emery, Amy, and Dia’s stories. Can not even lie, as I was getting close to finishing this third book I was getting disappointed at myself for binge reading the series so fast. AND THEN find out Catherine has a fourth book in store for us. I highly recommend this shifter series, it has a little bit of everything. Steamy, RH, action, and mystery.

This paranormal fantasy romance was definitely worth the read. When I first saw this book I decided to try it just because I thought the cover was so beautiful. However once I actually started it I realized it was the third installment and I was a little confused having not read the previous to. But the story was so interesting I decided to stop and read the first two so I could understand the story as a whole. Overall the characters were great, the plot is amazing and well put together, and the book as a whole is a great installment to the series. So if you’re looking for a new book make sure to not only pick up this one but pick up the whole series and read it in order to enjoy this amazing story.

Dia’s Lure is the third unique book in the A Solstice Quartet. Make sure you read the books in order so you know what has happened before. This is an emotional paranormal fantasy romance where the characters are broken that is until they find those that make them more than. More than they thought. More than worthy. These beautiful and magical characters have been through so much and will have your heart aching for them.

This delightful tale has everything to keep you glued to the pages and make you fall in love with the characters. There is trauma but hope, guilt yet humour, mystery with magic, fears and danger, heartbreak and angst, shifters and so much more. Catherine has a way with words that is able to paint an enchanting and vivid picture that is easily imagined.

I can’t wait for the next instalment.
