Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Charlisa Wahtomy-Alba

Wes “Alamo” Crockett has just taken over the training center in Leesburg, Virginia. After a body is found in a cabin on the edge of Chase Securitys newly acquired property, Wes is assigned to a case of kidnapped and missing women. His first meeting with Eleanor, his new Director of Equine-Assisted Therapy, was not under very good circumstances. He finds himself drawn to this kind hearted woman as he spends time helping to care for her after her accident. He can tell she has a history as she seems to be afraid of him, which is the last thing he wants. Can he gain her trust? And in the meantime will he be able to figure out who is responsible for the missing women?

Eleanor West has a not so great history. The self image she has of herself isn’t a good one due to things that have happened in her past. When she is hurt in an accident on her way to the first day at her new job she meets Wes. She doesn’t realize he is her boss and finds herself attracted to him. Since Wes is helping to care for her rumors have started amongst her colleagues that she is getting preferential treatment. She has many secrets that she doesn’t want out in the open, but Wes makes her feel comfortable enough to want to share. Will she be able to trust him with her deepest darkest secrets?

I love this series! Every story has its own unique twist and they all have been able to find their happiness in the end. These books are always hard to put down once you have started them. Kudos to the author on another great book.

Who is behind trying to tear these two apart? Everyone is a suspect when strange things start to happen and they all have a good reason.

This was the first time I have read anything by this author and I enjoyed her writing style. I especially enjoyed Emily’s character. All the characters were great, but she was my favorite. Though she was young, she was determined to make the best of the situation she found herself in.

She starts to have dreams where she is seeing Maggie running being chased by someone, but she can’t quite see who it is. With her love life in tangles she decides to throw all of her efforts into finding out everything she can about Maggie’s death. It is Naomi’s goal to find out what truly happened to this young woman not only so she can get her story written, but also so the family gets the answers they have been seeking. She is also hoping that this will help Maggie get the peace that she deserves.

Just from looking at the cover of this book I thought I would be hearing about a woman that was running for her life from some sort of evil. I felt that the first couple of chapters were a little slow, but once I got past that I began to get into the story and truly enjoyed it. I thought I had this story figured out on several occasions, but then had to back track to look at it from a different angle. Everything made sense when it all came together in the end and I’m very glad I stuck with this book.
