SILK ROAD (Code Raven, #6) by Lynda Filler 5 out of 5 stars Silk Road in the sixth book in the Code Raven series written by Lynda Filler. I read the prequel on book one and two but missed books three-five so I will be going back to read those books because this is an amazing series. Ms. Filler is an amazing author and this series is dead on in the evil that’s going on in this world. The characters are well written and there banter is amazing. They are not related by blood and come from all across the world even have some difference in beliefs but there is one thing you can count on in this story/series they are a family and want to help save the world. A new Silk Road train stretches from the eastern shores of Yiwu China to London, England. Its precious cargo is not what’s written on the manifest. A former Navy SEAL gets a terrifying message from his estranged daughter. “I’m desperate! I need your help, Dad. Bring your friends!” When two young children are abducted in the middle of the night from Raven’s sanctuary in the Maldives, Luci, Luke, and the Raven Group will stop at nothing to get them back. A female teenager in Kyrgyzstan is reported missing by tearful peasants. Has she become one of many kidnapped brides? Or is something far more frightening going on? The corrupt authorities ignore the parents’ pleas for help. We get to see the gang from the Raven group what they do best saving lives. Highly recommend this story/series….. By Tracy @tracym
Another action filled adventure in the Code Raven series. This is book six and this time the Raven Group is trying to save the world from a sex trafficking ring. Between China, Kyrgyzstan, London and the United States, we travel the world again. With the help of Himanesh, they locate the whereabouts of the missing children. It’s personal once again when two of the children were kidnapped from Luke’s personal hideaway in the Maldives. It is a fast paced book that will have you racing towards the end. I was happy to see Luke and Luci trying to take a vacation even though it got cut short. It would be nice to see them open their hearts and jump into a relationship.
I’m still catching my breath. This action packed thriller had me white knuckles for most of its pages. The characters are strong and engaging. The author does a fantastic job drawing the reader immediately in and having them quickly become invested in the fate of each character. It was fast paced and richly detailed. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will gladly recommend it to others.
“What do you know about the Silk Road?” “Are you referring to the old Silk Road trading routes? If you are, the Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes connecting the East and West which for centuries was central to the cultural interaction between them. The Silk Road also refers to both the terrestrial and the maritime routes connecting Asia with the Middle East and southern Europe. Today, of course, it’s the new China Railway Corp route to England. It will cut ground shipping to half the time of the maritime routes. The cost of shipping goods into Europe will fall considerably making Chinese exports/imports even more viable to its trading partners in Russia and Europe.” “Hmmm.” “Why do you ask?” “I heard Ivanov’s men talking about the Silk Road. I’m not sure of the significance, but it’s too much of a coincidence to ignore. Let me search around and see what I come up with.”
Silk Road is the sixth book in the Code Raven series by Lynda Filler. As we have discovered in the previous book/s, this series centres around the Raven Group, which is a top-secret, special ops team who help to keep the world a safer place- and the series chronicles the action-packed missions they embark on. This latest mission may just be the most challenging one yet. The story starts with Luke whisking Samaar(Luci) away to the Maldives for a much-needed break and Zach headed to Washington Dc after a call from his friend Mike, a former Navy SEAL buddy, who needs his help. Himanish is in Geneva doing what he does best, keeping tabs on everything, and starts to put some worrying pieces together. Children are going missing from all around the world, mostly from remote areas, leaving their families devastated. So, when these abductions hit closer to home for members of the team- Luke Raven will do everything in his power to get to the bottom of it all and return the children to their families. This truly is an international mission, taking the team from Canada to Paris, The Maldives, Geneva, Washington DC, China, Tel Aviv, London, and even to Kyrgyzstan in central Asia as they try to uncover who’s been behind a wave of human kidnapping. The team pulls together, digging deep, using all their skills, contacts and networks to follow the trail- as the case becomes more complicated than they ever imagined. We catch up with characters we know and love, as well as meeting some new ones. I love that each book in this series allows me to get to know the (recurring) characters a little bit better each time. I love watching the relationship between Luke and Samaar/Luci (and adorable Alice) develop more in this book. The little bit of romance and some touching and tender moments helped to lighten the darker topics covered in the storyline. This is definitely one of my favourites of the series, so far. The story was an action-packed adventure, with dramatic developments, danger, abduction, intrigue, suspense, human trafficking, drug cartels, life and death situations, high stakes risk, covert ops, high-tech gadgets, social and political issues, camaraderie, friendship, bonds, romance, depravity, heart-aching situations, and so much more I am really enjoying this series, which just seems to get better and better with each new instalment! I am really looking forward to my next adventure with the Raven Group!

I loved seeing the Raven group back and the adventures they get themselves into. This is a fast moving story that kept me on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what will happen next or if the group will find the missing teenager. This story is full corruption, suspense and mystery. Is there a link between the missing brides and the missing children? Will the group be able to find them before it is too late? I highly recommend this book to find out if the innocent can be saved.
Abducted: Code Raven 2, by Lynda Filler, is a thrilling suspense. Though the books are short, they flow easily from one to the next with a captivating story and cast of characters. The action within Abducted is fine tuned and drives the story forward. The high speed anticipation that the author pushes is a high thrilled ride that quickly passes by. The series continues to capture my imagination along with the wonderful dialogue/conversations that occur between the dimensional characters.
Abducted by Lynda Filler is the next instalment in her Code Raven suspense series that will keep you at the edge of your chair and makes you go and check the writer’s site to see when the next instalment is coming! We are meeting all the old friends and foes and all the new ones and it is filled with so many twists that at times you simply have to put the story down for a moment and go in your head ‘hmm … what did I just read and how does it fit into what I know and ….’ And then you grab the book again and go at it … This instalment is a step beyond cybercrime and hacking, it is about human trafficking and drugs and high speed chases and catching bigwigs and … crazy all around! Dear Ms Filler, please keep them coming!
XPOSED: Code Raven 1, by Lynda Filler, is an action-packed story. Despite the limited pages, the author does an excellent job of providing captivating moments with intrigue, suspense and steam. This book features a series of characters that are a part of the Raven Group and their camaraderie is well captured. I found this easy to read as the story pulls you through. It includes a well played mix of suspense within it. Overall, I really liked this book and would highly recommend to any crime, mystery, and/or suspense lover.
Code Raven is the prequel for the Code Raven series by Lynda Filler. The series is an action-packed adventure, with suspense, special ops, covert missions, drama, and intrigue. This book lays out some of the groundwork, filling in character details, giving backstory and background information that is the foundation for the series which follows. This book moves from past to present and back several times over the course of the book. These flashbacks give us important details that help us better understand the character/s and motivations. The book is a fast-paced novelette, which makes this a very quick and easy read. It is told from several points of view, helping to give us a well-rounded perspective of everything. This book introduces us to Luke Raven, the head of the Raven Group- a top secret special ops corps. He is a brilliant man; whose accomplishments and talents seem to be limitless, but who has also experience great personal heartache. We really get to know him and the other members of his team. I enjoyed finding out about him and meeting the others- Luci, Alice, Zach, RB, Maggs- and discovering how the Raven Group came to be. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series- it looks set to be a thrilling ride.
Code Raven is the beginning to an amazing series by Lynda Filler. I have not read anything else by this writer but I know that this is one series that I will be reading – from the beginning to the end! As the title says Code Raven is a prequel to the series, it is sort of an extended prologue that gives you the framework to put the rest of the series into! It introduces you to the main players, their motivation, their loss, and their drive … It gives you a taste of what is to come and I am so happy to know that I have the first story already downloaded on my reader! It is an action packed and mind bending read that will not allow you to put the story down after you have started! Welcome in to the world of Raven Group folks!
