My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First off, there are some sensitive subjects in this book. That said, it is a well-written story that draws you in right from the start. The characters in the story are so relatable- I could feel all of their emotions and I really identify with them. It is a thought provoking and gut-wrenching story. This is overall an emotional and engaging read.

How To Write A Historical Novel And Love It by TL Clark – Review by Codi Parham

In this guide, T.L. Clark wrote like a friend talking to me across the dinner table. They gave many facts about the how, when, what, and why of writing, with a bit of humor and knowledge from her own experience. The author explores each aspect of writing a book, from characters to publishing to picking the time frame of the story and researching accurate data. I have always wanted to write a book, and this gave me the tools to do just that. If you are interested in becoming an author, or interested in the process, read this book first.

Chatroom With A View by Glenn Maynard – Review by Codi Parham

Chatroom with a ViewChatroom with a View by Glenn Maynard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What happens when you come home one day to discover your very worst fears? This story starts with a nightmare, and the rest of the book unravels from there. After Troy thinks his life is basically over, he discovers even more troubling news, and he just continues to crumble. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I just had to read it. Troy’s story took me through a full range of emotions. The book was well written, the characters relatable, very dark and twisted. I know I will be reading more of Maynard in the future.

The main character, Jessa, is an herbalist who lost her mom when she was young. When her aunt goes on a trip, Jessa tags along to sketch the countryside. The characters are loveable, and the story is well written. I enjoyed reading how Jessa found herself in the process of solving the mystery. Chilson combined mystery and fantasy and fae extremely well. It left me anxious for more!

Angels and Demons and Humans, Oh My!
Sully is a demon hunter. He walks into a bar and meets Mick, and that is the beginning of the tumult. While this is not normally the type of book I would read, I was not disappointed. This book had a nice flow and kept me coming back for more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

This book was eloquently written. The definition of soliloquy is “speaking one’s thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers,” and Erin speaks through song. She is given a treasure for her 30th birthday that leads her on a time traveling adventure. Beautiful from the first note.
