This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The cover grabbed my attention straight away especially as I’m a huge cat lover! Cozy Mystery isn’t my usual genre but I really felt drawn to this book and wanted to give it a go and I’m so glad di did. I shall definitely be reading the first two books in the series now. Taylor was a really entertaining character, I felt drawn to her straight away I loved seeing how she solved what was going on and at times I felt like I was right there with her. This was a really fun read and one I would highly recommend!

Prior to reading I didn’t realise this was the third book, and although I am going to go back to read the first books for background and to see a more complete picture, this is able to be read as a standalone for the mystery element.
This was a fun mystery with interesting characters and an intriguing plot. There are cats, drama and suspense all rolled together and a little humour on the side. Right up my street – I love a good cosy mystery and I really enjoyed this one.
I particularly enjoyed the descriptions given and the feelings the author created around the Devils Road Forest and the lovable characters
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and have become a fan of the series so will be keeping an eye out for more.

What a fun story! Yes, it’s a cozy mystery but as Taylor is solving the mystery, there is humor and entertainment with the members of the book club and her two cats. Dangerous back roads and people who aren’t as they seem, sounds like a good murder mystery to me….oh wait, that’s what it is. haha. As Taylor looks for Anita, we see a wonderful cast of characters that make up the fun town of Pecos, The writing is quite entertaining. I don’t think I’ve chuckled this much in a long time. Now I’ll have to go back and read the first two of the series so I can catch up on Taylor’s exploits. A fun mystery romp for the cozy lovers out there.

This is the third book in The Taylor Browning Cozy Mysteries. Although this I part of a series, the book can be read as a stand alone book. Just keep in mind that you might want to read the first two books in the series ones you’re done with this treasure. This story had me reading faster to see what Taylor and her cats uncover as they search for what happened to Anita. This mystery has dangerous roads, a back story of people gone missing, and so much more. The author did a great job of world building and the characters kept the story interesting even when a character might not be my cup of tea! I’m looking forward to reading the first two books in the series.

This was my first Taylor Browning story and while the book alluded to the other two stories, it definitely made me want to check them out further! I loved how well written the characters were and how we got to see the back story on so many characters. It definitely made the story more enjoyable. I loved getting to meet Oscar and his new brother Cheddar. They definitely made the story so much more fun! I was absolutely impressed at how many different storylines were happening, but they were all important to the storyline. I love that Taylor just can’t help but get involved in a mystery while also trying to balance her professional and personal life. The author did an amazing job of weaving a story that felt mystical and realistic as well. It was a vivid cozy mystery full of amazing characters and the gorgeous background of New Mexico.

Editor Kill Fee is the third instalment in the Taylor Browning Cozy Mystery series by G.G. Collins. Even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, which is what I did, as each book holds its own self-contained mystery. But, having said that, this book piqued my curiosity as to what may have happened previously, and what mysteries Taylor has had to unravel in the prior two book… so I will definitely be going back to investigate them in the coming week. This mystery brings plenty of intrigue and drama as Taylor sets out to find the missing president of the Santa Fe Wine and Crime book club, who has disappeared on her way to a meeting and is thought to have maybe taken a wrong turn onto a deadly stretch of road. But things take an unexpected turn and Taylor finds herself in a dangerous undercover investigation with challenges, threats, and a tense race against time- while getting an inside perspective into the volatile chili culture. Add a couple of feline companions, publishing company drama, tension, and suspense- and we have an engrossing little mystery. Looking forward to investigating the rest of this series. Happy Reading…

This book is an excellent mystery! The characters are from all walks of life. The storyline makes me wonder at some of my more questionable choices. After all, how often have I driven down a dark road with a mysterious reputation? What would I do if my job suddenly couldn’t pay me? What sorts of schemes might I fall for? Although the story wraps up neatly, there remains one portion of it still unsolved- perhaps for the next installment.

The sleuthing fun continues Taylor Browning is back with her cats and investigating the mystery around the president of the Sante Fe Wine and Crime book club’s disappearance. With lots of twists and turns and a race against time, Taylor has more than she bargained for. I really enjoyed the storyline and characters, especially Oscar and Cheddar. I read this , finished it and read it again straight after , that’s how much I enjoyed this read ! I can’t wait to read every other book in this series ! I laughed at the banter between these people , the copious amounts of tea made and drunk and the mystery of who and why a woman was murdered was most entertaining 🫶🏼

Super Sleuth Taylor and her interesting felines are back in the next instalment in The Taylor Browning Cozy Mysteries. Editor Kill Fee is the third book in this cosy mystery crime series. Don’t do what I did and come in from the end make sure to read the books in order as they flow on from each other. Trust me there is certainly never a dull moment in this light-hearted tale. The characters are interesting some you will love, and some will irritate you to no end. GG certainly puts them through their paces. Editor Kill Fee is a well written entertaining cosy murder mystery with a clever plot for all to enjoy. One wrong turn, deadly roads, trafficking and financial trouble sees Taylor trying to piece together this latest mystery. You have to read it to find out whether or not Taylor saves the day, or will the danger be too much? I enjoy a good “whodunit” and that is exactly what this book is. I am off to read the others.

Editor Kill Fee is Book Three in The Taylor Browning Cozy Mysteries series. It is a beautifully written cozy mystery about the sudden and mysterious disappearance of the president of the Sante Fe Wine and Crime Book Club. While on her way to the book club Anita Juarez somehow manages to take a wrong turn and for the life of her cannot figure out how it happened. Anita is now on the infamous forest road 63A which has been nicknamed Devil’s Road by the locals. To get back on track she tries to turn around but in doing so she gets stuck in the ditch. She climbs out of the vehicle and intends to walk back to town to get a tow truck but feels inexplicably drawn into the woods.
When Anita does not show up at the Wine and Crime Book Club meeting her friends become worried and honorary member Taylor Browning contacts Detective Sanchez of the local police department. Taylor Browning is no stranger to the police as she has been in the wrong place at the wrong time in the past and has spoken with Det. Sanchez so frequently that she has him listed in her contacts. As it turns out the area Anita disappeared from has been notorious for numerous disappearances over the years. Taylor is now determined to figure out where she went and to solve the mystery of Anita’s disappearance. This leads to Taylor going undercover as a delivery driver and discovering the disappearance of a local restaurateur. Things begin to surface, and the mysteries intensify but Taylor is determined to get to the bottom of who or what is doing this. Things heat up and someone seems unhappy with Taylor and her friend’s interference and snooping around. When their lives are at risk it is up to Detective Sanchez to solve who is behind everything and save them.
This was a great book with an interesting storyline that pulled me and from the first few pages I was hooked. I loved how the author immediately lends an air of mystery, suspense, and intrigue with the setting of Devils Road and Anita being drawn into the woods by a mysterious force. It gave me goosebumps and I could not wait to read what happened next. The characters are well rounded, lovable, and relatable. Taylor is one smart cookie who is ambitious and determined to get to the bottom of a mystery. I loved how she was relentless in getting to bottom of Anita’s disappearance and unravel the truth behind what was going on. A great book with mystery, drama, suspense, intrigue, and twists and turns that will keep you reading until the end.

This is my first children’s book by this author which I enjoyed reading. This is a great older child’s book about Taylor and his friend Jim and the trouble they find themselves in. They are not sure who to trust on top of that it is a race against time for them to be saved. This is an engaging story that any older child/young adult would enjoy reading. It takes you on an adventure that you will have to find out how it ends. An engaging story with characters that are connectable and made the story easy to read. I highly recommend this book.

This was my first read by the author and I can say…I wasn’t disappointed at all! I found this book to be a thrilling murder mystery mixed with quite a bit of movie and musical references, which just made the book that much better! Darcy finds herself in a unique situation as being a number one suspect to murder! Darcy just can’t fathom how this predicament came about, but the one thing that she knows is that she needs to find a way to prove her innocence. This was a fun small town mystery that had plenty of twists and turns! I enjoyed every second of reading this book. I found out that this book was part two of a series, but not once did I feel lost, the author did a great job of writing the backstory into this book. I will be going back to read the first book because this one was so good! I definitely recommend reading this one as it was definitely enjoyable!

This book has a lot going on. There is an overuse of detail but it doesn’t harm the story. This book reminded me so much of Missing 411 and kept me entranced to every word. It’s a quick paced book with tons of knowledge to be learned. A modern mystery on the shoulders of a young editor.

Concert Hall Hit is a Cozy Mystery that will have you turning the pages while on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what happens next. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely going to check out what other books they have written . This is the perfect Cozy Mystery to curl up on the couch on a rainy day and get lost in the pages. The characters are developed, relatable and real and make the story come to life. I was so invested in Darcy and what was going on in this story that I had no idea of the time. What would you do if you were the last person to see someone alive? What if you were considered their number one suspect? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I read this book first before realizing that it was the second book in a series. I didn’t feel lost at all, so it can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed it so much that I’m picking up the first now though! The author did a great job building a realistic world and taking you on a fun mystery adventure. Darcy has her work cut out for her because a famous musician ends up dead in his dressing room…and she’s the suspect. This book really keeps you on your toes with the guessing game of whodunnit. I highly recommend this cozy mystery for a quick and fun read!

She is smart, talented, strong, tenacious, and determined. Lacking trust in the local police who seem determined to pin Derek’s murder on her, she takes matters into her own hands to solve the case and find the real killer. The ensuing investigation is full of drama, mystery, suspense, and tension. The twists and turns in this murder mystery will keep you on your toes guessing whodunit. I highly recommend this book.

An enjoyable cozy mystery which had me hooked from page one. Main character, record store owner and amateur sleuth Darcy Gaughan is a likeable and relatable character, and one whom I felt instantly engaged with. When a legendary British blues guitarist, Derek Tufnell appears at Marysburg Music, not only is the owner of the store, Darcy excited but so is the whole town. His meet and greet session with the fans before his performance at the Marysburg Center for the Performing Arts, was a great success and Darcy is thrilled with the event. However, only hours later Derek is found murdered in his dressing room, and as Darcy was the last one seen with him suspicion falls on her. Darcy decides to start her own investigation in order to find the real murderer and prove her innocence. It doesn’t take long for her to discover numerous suspects to look into. The characters and the setting of Marysburg, Indiana were brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in the story. The storyline had me gripped and the plot kept me guessing as to the outcome of the mystery. An entertaining read, and I look forward to future books featuring Darcy Gaughan.

This is the second book in the series which I didn’t initially realise but that wasn’t a problem when reading. There is enough information given about the background to understand previous events and not feel lost reading. I will go back and read the first book later though!

It was fun, full of adventure and mystery which was cleverly constructed to keep you guessing and trying to solve the mystery alongside Darcy. There were plenty of old school music and film references sprinkled throughout so I was in my element – I was hooked from the first page!
I loved the cast of characters, they were fun and unique which made an already enjoyable book miles better. I loved Darcy and her journey in solving the case and working towards clearing her name.
This was great fun to kick back and relax with, reading something engaging but laid back was just what I needed. I’ve fallen in love with this series and look forward to meeting Darcy again!

I can’t get enough of these type of books. Always a quirky, sassy lead who gets stuff done and solves the murder. This author is new for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the writing style, ups and downs, and how easy of a read this was. It was exciting and mysterious without making me think too hard making it all in all a relaxing and enjoyable read 🥳

Cozy mystery for any music lover. I really enjoyed this cozy mystery by J.C. Kenney. This book kept me in suspense till the very end. There were several points throughout this book that I thought I knew who did it and yet with a turn of a page my suspicions had changed. I loved all of the music references and puns. This is a fantastic, cozy mystery for any one who loves popular music. This was my first read by J.C. Kenney, but it will not be my last.

This book was enjoyable from word one! I especially love all the music and television/movie references scattered throughout. I did not realize that this book was part of a series. Reading this one as a standalone worked out well, as there was enough backstory throughout this story to catch me up to date on previous events that took place. I do want to go back and read the first book though!
Darcy is a former drummer who owns a music store. Derek is coming to town and he’s an entertainer that’s got a bit of a tarnished reputation. He’s decided to do an apology tour to make it up to his fans for his past behavior. He purposely chose to kick off his tour in Darcy’s hometown due to some history that they’ve had together. The town is all abuzz about Derek’s arrival and upcoming concert. Then the big night comes, the show is a success, and unfortunately, it does not go on as planned. Derek is found murdered in his dressing room. There are several people that are potential suspects and the police are on it. The question is, can they solve it before Darcy can?
I loved the adventure and mystery in this book. It keeps you guessing right up until the end. The curve balls thrown are very clever! As a lover of music, I enjoyed this even more with all the musical references.

This is my first book by this author and I was blown away. I didn’t read the first book, however the author gave enough back story to be able to know what went on in the first book. I really love the authors writing style. The world building and character was amazing. Concert Hall Hit was an amazing cozy mystery. The book was a page turner for me and I wanted to know what happens next.

A great mystery story. Through the whole book you think you know who did it but it never is who you think. J.C. Kenney writes in a great way to get your imagination running. The imagery is amazing. The story is full of details and a great read. This can be read as a stand alone even though it’s the second in the series. I have added the first book to my to be read list.

The author does a great job intertwining little hints about who the murderer is (although I figured it out about half way through, but it was still a good read). I appreciated the generations represented, from high school teenagers to older (musicians) senior citizens, and how they worked together to solve the crimes. My favorite character was the less-than-likeable police officer- she had some great snarky lines throughout the book.
It may be a regional thing, but I disliked some of the slang or colloquial language (deets for details, “oh yesi,” “give me your digits” for phone # requests, the leaker for snitch). I did like mention of lesser known artists that I had to go preview their music, such as Chuck Mangione.

Concert Hall Hit: A Darcy Gaughan Mystery is the second book in this series. I have not read the first book in the series and was able to keep everything straight, so never fear if you read it out of order. This is my first book by this author, so I was unsure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with a fun cozy mystery set in the small town of Marysburg. Darcy owns the popular Marysburg Music in town and suddenly becomes suspected of the murder of a visiting musician with a past. Darcy takes charge of clearing her name and solving the mysterious murder because she doesn’t fully trust the police. There are lots of fun and interesting characters that lead the story to the end. The story gives plenty of twists to keep the reader on their toes. I enjoyed this book and will be looking to backtrack and pick up the first book in this series. I recommend if you enjoy cozy mysteries, murder, and music. It is a fun read.
