While this is the fourth book in “Crescent City Wolf Pack” series A DEAL WITH DEATH is the first book I’ve read and it absolutely worked as a stand-alone. I.have added the other books in the series to my TBR list.
This story started and ended with the same strength that flows through the entire book. Told in multi POVs in past and present tense, voodoo and magic is essential to the story.
There are a few surprises along the way and it was an interesting read which I read in one sitting My favorite quote from the story is: “A fate bound mate would never cheat, and he wouldn’t settle for anything less.

Carrie Pulkinen has brought us another amazing addition to this series. Once again, this read is a genre I love so I automatically know that I will be captivated by this read, but Carrie Pulkinen continues to bring us a read that is full of action, romance and adventure. I read this book in one sitting, it had me engaged to no end! It’s a mentally visual read, which makes it even easier to connect with the story and the characters. Odette & James have a chemistry that is undeniable you could help but hope that through their journey in this read that they would get a HEA. This series continues to get better and better, you are launched into a world that you will not want to let go and get totally invested in.
I highly recommend this read, and even more this series! Carrie Pulkinen with has totally invested in her amazing storylines and even better characters!

I am not a huge reader of paranormal books but the blurb of this book sucked me in. A Deal with Death is my first book by this author and definitely will not be my last. This book is about Odette who is one strong woman who every time she falls in love her mate dies. Once she gets reaquainted with James who she knew from school things start to change. James being a werewolf knows that she is his mate but can their destiny be any different than the her past soulmates? This book was a very good read and kept my interest for the entire book.

A great read about control. Odette is a voodoo practitioner associated with the lua spirit Baron Samedi, the god of Death. She moves into an old house in New Orleans and lives her life without living or giving into her mysterious powers. But when ghosts walk through the house and her soul mate returns, fate seems to have other ideas. Desperate to avoid fate, Odette will have to find allies and use powers to save him. Can she do it or run from fear of her powers? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Odette standing up for herself but vulnerable and afraid underneath or James determined and cocky but kind and caring underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the fun friend Natasha or the no nonsense Noah. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the house with its bright pink walls and little windows, inviting and welcoming but still large enough for a sense of unease with empty rooms wonderfully written. Or the use of colour throughout in the small details like the purple veve scarves and the cards for a splash of colour in a harsh world around them. Or the use of the senses with the taste of rum or the smell fot he forests later on so strong its as if you’re actually there. A wonderful example of world building with this magical society coexisting alongside humanity with their own laws and rules. A wonderful example of building upon the sequel with added fantasy elements such as ghosts and priestesses and fortune telling and the Rougarou later on. I also loved the sense of culture this novel includes with the voodoo and its Haitain roots with tis gods and rituals and offerings, giving it an unique flavour to draw readers in and a sense of community between characters and loved the inclusion of its language and terminology which was a lovely touch. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

A Deal With Death is the fourth book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. You can read this as a standalone, but all of the books in this series have been stellar so you’ll probably want to read them anyway.
I have always loved a story with Voodoo components, and this one has a great foundation. I also loved the way the reincarnation aspect is woven in. This story caught my attention from the beginning and held it all the way through. The characters are vibrant and come alive on the page making you feel like you are in the story.
Murder. Romance. Spirits. Destiny. It’s a wonderfully written tale of the paranormal variety! ?

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack #4) by Carrie Pulkinen
5 out of 5 stars A deal with death is the fourth book in the Crescent City Wolf pack written by Carrie Pulkinen is a great book that goes with a great series. I have read all four books in this series and they just get better with each book. The characters are great with quirky personalities but they needed this for their quest to solve the puzzle. Voodoo practitioner Odette Allemand, isn’t scared of death but dying sure as hell does. And every time she meets her soul mate, her life ends in a horrific murder. Then she’s reincarnated to have it happen all over again. She is determined to survive this lifetime, so she has closed herself off to her powers and spirit But when James Malveaux a sexy werewolf knocks on her door, he unearths emotions she thought she’d buried, now her fate is sealed with his enticing kiss. He hasn’t seen her since junior high, but the moment they reunite, his wolf wants to claim her as his mate. Now that they have reconnected they have awakened the monster and hope it doesn’t kill them before they get a chance to kill it first. Will James make peace with his wolf and accept Odette? Can he help Odette make peace with her inner demons and the Spirit? Or will the couple be doomed to the same gruesome ending as their countless lives before? I highly recommend this book/series… By Tracy

A Deal With Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen 5-stars
A Deal With Death is book four in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. I loved it just as much as I did all the other books in this series. Odette was an amazing character and I absolutely loved her ability even if it was some what dangerous. I also really loved James’ character. There was so much more to these two than I realized at the start of the novel. As with this authors other novels, there is never a dull moment. She is very descriptive with each setting in the New Orleans area and it is easy to visualize and almost immerse yourself in its culture. I love this series and really enjoyed this novel. I highly recommend it!

I give A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen, 4 stars.
Odette has decided that the best way to live her life is to have complete control over is. So she turns her back on her voodoo religion and never lets her control slip. Until she meets James. This hot werewolf makes her think things she doesn’t want. But she feels so good with him. However, she has bigger concerns. Things are happening in her town that she must help stop. Can she let go of the past and help stop this evil?
This is a great book and nice addition to the series. James and Odette are really good characters and while this fits in with the series, it is different enough to stand on its own. Besides the attraction of the two main characters, the suspense side of the story is quite interesting. I could not put this book down.
If you like paranormal romance with a suspense twist, this book is for you.

A Deal With Death is the fourth novel in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series by Carrie Pulkinen. This is my fourth novel by this author.
Odette Allemand is a woman who doesn’t fear death since she practices Voodoo. She also gets reincarnated after she dies whenever she meets her soulmate. Not wanting to die this time, she is sure she can beat the cycle.
James Malveaux is werewolf who hasn’t seen Odette in years but once the two meet again, his wolf wants to claim her as his mate.
Can the two change fate and have a happy life together?
This is my favorite of the series so far. The premise was different than anything I’ve read before and the romance between the two felt refreshing and different because of that.
I loved the main character’s name because it was unique and it made me think of the Swan Princess movie.
I hope there is another novel in this series soon.

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal/fantasy romance. This novel follows in the series closely with the previous books, but could be read separately. I do highly recommend that the books be read in order so that you get a full understanding in the depth this series provides and additional background on some of the characters that appear throughout the series.
In A Deal with Death spirits and shifters are the focus; the story line is high speed and exciting from beginning to end. Carrie Pulkinen had me sitting on the edge of my seat practically biting my nails as I crested page after page to see what fates were about to be unfolded next in this book. Odette and James are magnificent in this story and I loved how they were each missing something, but were drawn towards one another regardless. This author is highly talented and a great story teller!

I am looking forward to meeting more by this author and I would recommend to a friend.

A Deal With Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen 4 Stars!!!!
Yet again another book that hooked me and reeled me in . I really find that I enjoy this series and find the author’s writing style to be quite refreshing. I found that the characters just jump right off of the pages. There was also a well balanced world of the supernatural and everyday life. I really enjoyed how the author brought in the world of Voodoo and built the story around it.
I really found Odette to be quite the character. I liked how the author was able to build the story around her past and how all the characters fit into it. I felt that the chemistry between Odette and James really added to the drama that unfolds around them. The author has such a creative style and brings the whole world she is writing about come to life. I could feel the spirits as Odette tried to help them. I really cannot wait to read more from this author and this series.

A Deal With Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen 4 Stars
This is another amazing shifter romance by Ms. Pulkinen. It is part four in the Crescent City Wolf Pack Series but you can read it as a stand-alone. The story is filled with love, death and voodoo. Odette Allemand is a voodoo practitioner who’s Met Tet is the god of death. Unfortunately she’s been on his bad side for the past few years. She’s stuck in a cycle of rebirth and violent death and vows to never fall in love again. James walks into her life and throws a wrench in her plans. Now she must beg forgiveness from the god of death if she wants to survive this life.
This is a story that will hook you in from the start and not let you go until the end. With mystery, danger and suspense, you will not be able to read fast enough to see what happens. I loved the book and found it to be original and engaging. I hope there will be a part five.

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack #4) by Carrie Pulkinen was an engaging, original read that had me hooked.
I have been waiting for this book, and I’m all in a good feels place cause the wait is over, but I’m sad at the same time cause I want more books from this series like yesterday.
This series has been by far my favourite of the year, and I can’t get enough of this world that Carrie Pulkiene has created. This book opens with a dark bang, and it sets the stage for the crazy good to come. I love how there’s always a mystery, and how the female MC’s are always kickass and brilliant. Sure they have their hot alpha male werewolf, but they’re no push over, and this book is no different with Odette. I loved her, and I think she’s probably my favourite MC so far. Sure sure, James is great too, but Odette, she was just outstanding, and I have a major girl crush.
Overall this book was quite the read, it was as I said, fresh, original and just one of those wow reads that gets your blood flowing. The detail was on point, the plot solid, and the dark themes helped keep your mind engaged. There was enough romance to break it up, and keep it light while not overpowering the characters.
To end, this book this series is a must read, and it gets my super high recommedantion and my golden stamp of approval.

A Deal with Death is the fourth book in Carrie Pulkinen’s Crescent City Wolf Pack series. This book is honestly phenomenal, I’ve read every book of the series and have loved them all.
This story is intense, action-packed, suspenseful and thrilling, I was intrigued from the very beginning and like always with this author’s work I was able to read it in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to put it down. I just had to get answers to all my questions and fortunately this author did not disappoint.
Though this book can be read as a standalone I would recommend the whole series, this is one that you won’t want to miss!!!

While I enjoyed this story it was a little out of my realm. There was a lot of voodoo talk, Ghosts and going back Into the past. This does focus on the relationship between James and Odette. I really liked James in previous books and while he didn’t disappoint he didn’t raise any higher either. Odette is into voodoo and after a childhood accident she doesn’t practice as much as she used to. She has tight control on herself and has become very stodgy. James wants to break that control but something else is in the mix. Can they survive what is coming?
This is my fourth book in the series. Each one is different and it’s Not Necessary to have read them first. Again the story was a little off for me…I did learn a lot about Voodoo practices and guardians but to me it seemed to stray away from the werewolf packs. The characters seems nice and strong but I didn’t love them like I was expecting too. Was I on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen? Yes I was but it didn’t seem enough. Sorry this one just fell short for me.

This is brilliant series that does not need to be read in order however I would highly recommend you give them all a go. This book has got to be my absolute favourite one so far. I was drawn into the story and the characters immediately. I felt such a connection to Odette. I couldn’t honestly say what it is about her I like so much I just did. The whole story was excellent as well. I thought it was unique and interesting. It easily kept my attention the whole way through – to be honest I could not put this book down. I read the whole thing in one sitting and wanted more when it ended. This whole series has been a fantastic read and this one just excels. I would definitely recommend you give this series a try as the author has done a brilliant job with it so far.

Will he be her savior? They have so much chemistry and I found myself hoping they would get the HEA they deserved. This is a must read!

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) By: Carrie Pulkinen 5 out of 5 stars
The story A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen is an awesome and amazing book to read. It pulled me in right from the start and didn’t let me go until I had finished the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Odette Allemand and James Malveaux. Odette is a smart, strong, independent, and beautiful woman. The only problem is that every time she meets her soulmate things end horrifically. Then she meets James. James is a werewolf who feels that he is broken. He remembers Odette from back in school. He is finding that his wolf wants to claim her as his mate. There is a deep attraction between these two. There seems to be a connection between them and there are sparks when they are together. Are Odette and James destined to go through an ending that never seems to change? What does their future hold? Read this book to find out. This story creates an atmosphere of suspense that had me turning pages to find out what is going to happen next. I got caught up in the romance and the emotions of the characters. I grew to care about Odette and James with each chapter that I read, and I couldn’t help but want things to work out for them. I enjoyed the bantering and interactions between them. The author has created a story that you won’t want to put down with unforgettable characters that come alive. I highly recommend reading this book.

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen is another exciting book in this series. It is a paranormal story that encompasses wolves and voodoo and is set in New Orleans and can definitely be read as a standalone but I know you will enjoy the other books in the series just as much. It was one intriguing and interesting read especially learning more about voodoo and it’s craft and religion. Add in werewolves and demons, death and fear, possession and spirits and you have yourself one addicting story.
Odette has always been a child of death but she has pushed aside her teachings and faith after one awful night when her life changed forever. Now she is in a race against time to stop a cycle what always ends with her death.
James has just found his dream renovation and the girl that held his interest in school. What he finds along the way is his mate but unless he can break the cycle in time he is facing certain death.

If you like strong heroines and spooky spirits, you’ll love this fast-paced shifter romance!
Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romance author who has always been fascinated with things that go bump in the night. Of course, when you grow up next door to a cemetery, the dead (and the undead) are hard to ignore. Pair that with her passion for writing and her love of a good happily-ever-after, and becoming a paranormal romance author seems like the only logical career choice.
Before she decided to turn her love of the written word into a career, Carrie spent the first part of her professional life as a high school journalism and yearbook teacher. She loves good chocolate and bad puns, and in her free time, she likes to read, drink wine, and travel with her family.

Bound by Blood is the third book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. This book can be read as a standalone, but the previous books are spectacular reads so I recommend reading them as well. Once again, the author has created an engaging story. There is not a bad book in this series and Bound by Blood has added a great dimension to the Crescent City world. One of the things that really grabs you in these books is the expertly written villains and the way the heroes/heroines handle them.
I loved that this book has a female lead character, and a strong one at that. As the story progresses she maintains that strength, but also learns how to accept support from others. I like that the author kept Alexis a strong female figure and didn’t turn her into a passive princess.

Bound By Blood Crescent City Wolf Pack Series by Carrie Pulkinen
5-Stars
Alexis is a rogue and has always kept to herself. She has never let herself stay in one place and has always managed to get by. She hasn’t ever wanted to stay in one place, not even for her sister, until she gets to know her sister’s former partner Bryce. Attractive, sculpted, and confident, Bryce is promoted to a new position. He is attracted to Alexis but afraid to share his sensitive side. She has her own secrets but as they spend more time together following a near death experience for Alexis they fall for each other. Alexis struggles to accept fate and let him in and does not want to get him mixed up in why she nearly died.
This was such a great addition to this series. It can be read as a standalone novel but I highly recommend reading the other books as well. The characters are developed well and grow as the storyline easily flows from one event to the other. It’s easy to get lost in this novel and lose track of time. There are a few sexual scenes they may be difficult for some but I felt that it gave the romance developing between the main characters some spice. Such a great read!

Bound By Blood (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book Three) By Carrie Pulkinen
5 Stars!!!!!
I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed. This is the third book in this series and I was just as hooked on this one as I was the first. The author has a really refreshing take on werewolved. I really couldn’t put this book down.
I really got into the story and could feel all the emotions Bryce was going through. I really could feel the chemistry between him and Alexis. The drama added just enough to the story line. I really liked that Bryce was the first human in one hundred years to be transformed. The story really just fits so well with the first two books and I really cannot wait to read more from not only this series but also this author.

Carrie Pulkinen’s Bound by Blood is the third book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. This paranormal romances features secondary characters that have appeared earlier in the series: Bryce and Alexis. I like how this story is slightly different with the female being the “wolf” of the story. However, that doesn’t mean Bryce doesn’t carry a strong, typical male presence here – he certainly does. The tug and pull of these two is ever present and it makes reading the story intriguing and entertaining. Each of the books within this series have been strong on their own, but together they create a wonderful series. I do strongly recommend reading each book in sequential order to get the most from this series.

Bound by Blood is Book 3 In the Crescent City Wolf Pack Series from author Carrie Pulkinen. This is my third read from this author and yet she still continues to surprise me with how brilliant each book is and how she captivates me even more with each book in this series. I can’t wait to see what else she brings to this series. While these books are written as part of a series, you can easily read these as stand-alone but I highly recommend that you read in order just for you to enjoy this incredible world this author has created.
This book was action packed, mysterious, suspenseful, fast-paced and thrilling, it has romance, passion & sexiness. This is an amazing read that hooks you in from the beginning and brings you on this amazing rollercoaster of a ride with some incredible characters. We are given twists and turns throughout that keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what could happen next.
In this read Alexis & Bryce are our main characters in this read, and while we follow them on their journey we also get introduced to new and existing characters. From first meeting Alexis & Bryce in Book 1 I couldn’t wait for them to finally get their own back story. These two had sparks flying from the start – after reading Alexis backstory you can understand more of reasons of why she is that way. But finally seeing Bryce & Alexis get a story together they both take a journey in this read that is needed for the both of them!. With a couple of twists and turns this once again makes for an incredible read for any lover of the Paranormal Romance genre.
This book should not be missed – either shall it’s series! Don’t miss this one!

I give Bound by Blood (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 3) by Carrie Pulkinen, 5 stars. *This review contains spoilers from previous books in the series.*
Alexis is a rogue werewolf and therefore she has spent her life on the run since she first shifted at 13. But things are finally coming together. She has reunited with her sister after a very long time. Plus, now that her sister is happily married, she has an open invitation to join their pack. It would be nice to settle down, but all she has known is a life on the run. Although, the more she learns of Bryce, the more she feels like maybe she wants more. But would it ever work?
Bryce is Macie’s partner on the police force. When he is introduced to Macie’s sister, Alexis, there is something about her that immediately interests him. But she keeps leaving. When it looks like she has gotten into something that she can’t handle, he feels compelled to help her. She is hiding things, but he is determined to get the bottom of it. Plus, can he make her stay?
This is a great series. The two characters were both in the previous books, but we didn’t see too much of them. It was great to see them as the leads in this book. I really liked the idea of Alexis and was strongly hoping she would be featured in an upcoming book. Not to mention that Bryce seemed like a good guy too and I was happy to learn more of him. There is more going on than just their romance too, which makes this book even better. I got drawn into it right away and could not put it down until I was finished.
If you enjoy paranormal romance and hot werewolves, this book and series is for you.

Bound by Blood (Crescent City Wolf Pack #3) by Carrie Pulkinen was a fast paced, action packed, steamy romance, that had me hooked from start to finish.
Not my first read by this author or in this series. I am addicted to these books! I will tell you that though these read as standalones, there are major spoilers and backstories from the other two books. So I highly suggest reading them before this one. That and, they’re freaking awesome as well.
I’ve been waiting for this book, right from book one when Alexis met Bryce in the first book. Sparks seemed to fly, and you even notice it in the second. This is a long time coming for me and I was so happy to finally read their story. I was not disappointed, I knew it was going to be Alexis centered and the hard life she lead up till now. Getting her backstory, fully, was what I’ve been waiting for. I have to say, it’s dark, heart breaking and makes you just want to hug her, but at the same time it makes you understand why she so stand-of-ish and unable to fully settle down. Alexis has been a solid character since book one, and I will tell you, though she my be damaged, but she’s no pushover. Girl is kickass.
Bryce, he’s another character we finally get to see the true colours of. I’m not going to tell you what they are as it will ruin the fun. But damn, I wouldn’t kick him out of bed for eating crackers. Overall Bryce again is has been a solid character from book one. There’s a twist at the end that brings him and Macey full circle and it fit perfectly. I was kind of expecting it, but still pleasantly surprised when I was right.
Overall this book like it’s predecessors was a wicket thrill ride that full of messy action, kickass werewolves, steamy romance and of course, rich detailed writing that just pulls you into this unique, captivating world. This book, this series, is a must read. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will fall head over heels for this outstanding read.
