Crime Lord’s Captive (crime Lord series, book 1) by Mia Knight. Is an epic 5 star read. Full of intensive, suspenseful and some romantic moments that definitely keep you on the each of the seat with each page you turn.

Lyla has been lost for over three years before she is thrown back into a life and world she doesn’t want any part of. The crime underworld is a world full of monsters that want nothing more than to take down the current crime Lord and will do almost anything to make it happen.

Mia has written the relationships in this novel perfectly, there friendships and loyalty to each other is outstanding and the growth throughout is great to watch.

Yeesh!!! This is book one of a series and the world building in this story was amazing. I felt for the m/c almost instantly and the things she has to deal with, wow – just wow.

There is so much that goes on in this story. It’s layered in such a way that it keeps getting more and more intense as the story unfolds. It’s like veils being lowered again and again making things even darker and murkier. This is a very dark and twisted “mafia” story and while some of it is incredibly cliche’, some of it is original and unique. The relationship between the female protagonist and her bff cousin is the most realistic relationship in the story. They both broke my heart just a little bit.

I did enjoy reading this story and look forward to reading more in the series to see if anyone gets their HEA.

Crime Lord’s Captive (Crime Lord Series Book 1)By Mia Knight is a book the grabbed me from the beginning and kept my attention till the end. I was on the edge of my seat I had to know what happens next. This is the story of Layla and Gavin. Layla is a woman who thought she left her old life in the past and moved on until a man from her past is blackmailing her.Layla had left because she found out who he really was. Now she feels fear and she has no control of her life. Gavin is a dark man who rules a very dark underworld. He is borderline obsessed with Layla.who is Gavin really? Is there more to him than what people see? Why is he persistent on having Layla Can Gavin get through the walls Layla has built up?This book left me wanting more .This is a must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Crime Lord’s Captive by Mia Knight is the first book in her series Crime Lord Series. This story was an interesting dark undertones story. I was comfortable reading the story, but I could see where it could have made me wiggle a little bit. The characters are fully developed and could feel them as friends. I would set enough time to be able to read this book in one sitting. You will not be sorry. This is the story of Layla and Gavin. Layla left her life in the past in Las Vegas and really wanted to start anew. Gavin is the man that Layla wanted to leave in her past, but he came looking for her. This is the story of how love can be dark if one is not able to speak up. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
